The staff is warm and genuinely helpful, and that energy carries through to the guests as well. It’s the kind of place you actually look forward to coming back to after a long day. • Chandrima (6/5): - Cleanliness Usually when I visit the rooms are quiet and the staff makes sure whenever they enter or bring someone in the silence is maintained. This time the staff brought in new people at around 11.45 pm night when I was fast asleep. There was no regard for that. The staff was eating and came in with her plate of food. The lights were suddenly on and she started chit chatting inside the room with the new people laughing loudly to the point my sleep was disrupted , I had to wait till 12.30 until everyone used the bathroom till then the lights still on , and only then I could sleep again. No regard for the rules that were stuck on the wall. I was really impressed with all my previous visits but this visit just made my already tiring day worse.

• Hiroto (8/5): アットホームで快適なホステル - 毎日結構な頻度で清掃されており、とても清潔だった。インドのホステルとしてはトップクラスの清潔さだと思う。ドミトリーは広く、下段ベッドはカーテン付きで寝心地良し、常にエアコン+ファンが回っており快適。ベット下の荷物収納スペースも十分なサイズで助かった。トイレ・シャワーは広々しており快適。あと自分が蚊に刺されたと伝えたからか、連日夜にスタッフが蚊避けスプレーのようなものを噴射しており、こういう気遣いは地味にありがたい。朝食付きも助かる。ここで幾つかの良き出会いがあり、人と出会うには理想的なホステルだと思う。 静かでローカルな立地で良いのだが、周辺にレストランが殆どなく、15分は歩かないとまともに食べるところがなかった。小さい売店などは近所に多数あり。 1人、何を聞いても答えない・反応しないスタッフがおり、少し気分が悪かった。これがなければ満点だった。

My stay here was nothing short of magical. The hostel is perfectly located near some beautiful beaches — a quieter, more soulful side of Mumbai that instantly made me fall in love with the city. What makes this place truly special is the culture it fosters. One of the fellow travellers cooked a delicious meal for all of us — that kind of warmth and generosity just sets the tone for everything. We had cozy movie screenings in the drawing room, and when the night got livelier, the rooftop terrace turned into the perfect party spot with the best energy you could ask for. Late-night conversations, laughs, gossip, and the kind of talks that only happen when you’re surrounded by the right people — Hostel Mantra had it all. A massive shoutout to the hosts Pradeep, Nidhi, and Faiz — you three are the heart and soul of this place. They’re warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, creating an environment where every guest feels welcomed from the moment they walk in. It’s rare to find hosts who go beyond hospitality and make you feel truly at home. For someone experiencing Mumbai for the first time, Hostel Mantra didn’t just give me a comfortable stay — it gave me a home. I came as a traveller and left with stories, new friendships, and a deep love for this city. The storage space in the rooms and under the beds could use a more thorough dusting and cleaning — a minor thing but worth attention.

• Leena (8/5): Overall a good and comfortable place - I liked staying here. The staff were helpful. Sleeping arrangements were good and clean. I just felt that from hygiene perspective it would be better if they don’t allow shoes and other footwear inside because the floor in the dormitory gets sticky and people have to carry other pair of slippers. I hope if they can improve that.
• Lucy (5/5): Nice people, the hostel is tired and warn down - The staff are kind and helpful, I liked mixing with some of the other guests, the dog is adorable. Compared to the photos, this hostel is very tired and initially looks warn down and a bit dirty, although it seemed pretty clean. The photos are no longer accurate, and I feel the price was a little high for the standard.

The room had been newly renovated with fresh paint, and everything felt clean, comfortable, and well taken care of. The staff here are genuinely friendly and always ready to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable and always felt safe. The location is great too, super easy to travel around, with plenty of food options just a short walk away and tons of restaurants you can order food from. One of my favourite parts was the rooftop. It has a really chill vibe, perfect for relaxing in the evenings or just unwinding after a day out. Overall, a wonderful stay and highly recommended!

I can recommend to stay here when you are solo or with frnds . The staff , manager was very helpful and friendly. Met new frnds , cooked food together , celebrated Christmas Eve .My stays with mantra was comfortable. It’s a budget friendly hostel with basic amenities . I really enjoyed my stay .
• Ghizlane (10/5): We had a wonderful stay at Hostel Mantra in Mumbai and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Sudeep - What I liked most about the property was the friendly and helpful staff, especially Sudeep, Nidhi, and the rest of the team, who made us feel very welcome and gave excellent advice about transportation, places to visit, currency exchange, and shopping locally. The clean rooms and well-maintained washrooms, the great social atmosphere with other travelers, and the convenient location near Versova metro made the stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The only small downside was that the kitchen is a bit small and could use more kitchenware, which can make it difficult for several people to cook at the same time. Other than that, everything was great.

• Zofia (5/5): - The staff that I met was lovely as well as the owner who helped me out with some issues at checkout! Very helpful with any questions I had as a first-time Mumbai traveller. They were also very attentive on their Whatsapp communication. The rooms itself and the place looked much better on the pictures. It is all a bit dated and the rooms where not the cleanest. It was simply a place I came to sleep at, not spend time at. Sad to see this as with the great attitude of the staff, the cleanliness could be better.

The place was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. A special mention to Tra, their dog, who was absolutely exceptional and made the stay even more enjoyable. I truly appreciate everything they did—would happily stay here again!
• Sharma (10/5): Must Stay!!!! - Awww man!!! What an amazing place this is!! Mumbai is a big city with a whole lot of things to experience and one of those experiences is the vibe of this place. The conversations with the guests here, the food, the party we had, the staff. Nidhi ma'am took care of everything, the owner Mr. Bhushan whom I call i Bhushan Bhai is a strong man sweetheart i must say. I'm not going anywhere else, I have promised myself. And the best part is that foreigners love this place and almost all the guests who come to Mumbai often come here only. This place and these people here, exceptional. Clean bedsheets, good mattresses, good sleep in the dorms. There's these private rooms as well, i have my eyes on for my next stay. Thanks to Nidhi ma'am for the itinerary she gave me of the places I could visit in Mumbai. The sequence of it really helped me save time. Much love guys, i hope for the best for you all. 💞🌄 What I didn't like was something about myself and that was, I was suddenly as happy as a five year old. I hope I wasn't awkward or anything. I mean c'mon, this place is literally perfect, and I'm a 29 year old saying this. Come over.

• Ida (3/5): Wouldn’t go again - The people who work there are very nice but that was the only good part sadly Its dirty, smells bad in the room and bathroom (I had a private room), the walls are thin so you will hear everything. It was loud music or a loud movie every night until maybe 01:00/02:00 at night. Hard to sleep. I think all the pillows in my room had mold on them. Only Indian tourists there

Bathrooms were tidy and well-maintained. The hostel has two lovely common areas—one by the reception with a projector for movie nights, and a rooftop space with a kitchen and chill vibes. The staff were super kind, responsive, and always happy to help. I met the most amazing people here—it’s a great place to connect with fellow travelers. And special shoutout to Tra, the sweetest hostel dog ever, who made everyone feel extra loved. Looking forward to coming back again!

The rooms were clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for luggage and personal belongings. The beds were quite comfortable, and the lockers were big enough to store valuables securely. The location was fantastic—super close to public transportation, and within walking distance to many popular spots like Versova beach and clubs. It made getting around the city incredibly easy.

The hostel is located in the Actors/Film makers in the creative district of Andheri West which is the hub for Bollywood crews and aspiring actors and models. The staff at Hostel Mantra are amazingly cool people, especially Pradeep, Sudeep and Jagruti... Always there to help and recommend good places to eat, visit or any other. If you are in Mumbai and if you don't visit Hostel Mantra.. I would say you are missing on a lot!! Highly recommended!! And Bhushan thanks for the Anniversary Party!!
