• Zoe (10/5): A serene Gem blighting the beauty of the Ella mountains - We stayed in the loft type cabins with the pool right in front of the vila and oh my gosh the views are amazing. This place was an absolute delight. The room was a great size comfy bed and air conditioned. The staff were also the sweetest people in the world, it was my birthday and they set up a super surprise for me and really made my day. It’s a great place to stay in Ella. It’s a bit away from the noise of the main town but that’s absolutely what makes it so great. Plus they have a tuk tuk to take you whenever you want. I highly recommend. • Jasmina (10/5): Traumhafte Unterkunft - Die Unterkunft ist ein absoluter Traum. Sie liegt zwar etwas ausserhalb, was jedoch kein Problem darstellt, da das Hotel einen zuverlässigen Shuttle-Service in die Stadt anbietet. Dafür geniesst man eine herrliche Aussicht und viel Ruhe, ganz für sich allein. Die Zimmer sind sehr komfortabel und stilvoll eingerichtet, und die Dusche funktioniert einwandfrei. Das Personal ist jederzeit freundlich und bei Anliegen oder Essensbestellungen schnell zur Stelle. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Generell das Essen war super lecker (Curries, Fried Noodles, Kottu, ...). Das Team der Tea Cabins kümmert sich um alles und bietet kostenfreie Tuk Tuk Fahrten ins Zentrum an. 😀 Definitiv empfehlenswert!

• Lauren (10/5): Perfect! - We had a great stay here and the staff honestly couldn’t have been more helpful. Before we even arrived, they arranged our transport from Colombo and also helped organise our onward travel to Udawalawe, which made everything really easy and stress-free. The room was comfortable and the bed was very comfy, with a nice shower and beautiful scenic views from the property. We also really appreciated the free breakfast delivered directly to the room each morning — such a nice touch. Drinks and food were also available throughout the stay which was very convenient. The pool was lovely to relax in during the heat of the day, although it was absolutely freezing! Still very refreshing after being out exploring. The location was great for visiting the Nine Arches Bridge, only a short distance away. Just be prepared for a walk through a very dark tunnel filled with birds on the way there — definitely part of the experience! The upstairs rooms also had Netflix which was nice for relaxing in the evenings. Overall though, a really enjoyable stay with genuinely excellent service and hospitality. The only downside for us was that the upstairs room didn’t have air conditioning, which made it quite warm at times.
• annemieke (10/5): Fantastische locatie! Hier kom je tot rust en kun je maximaal genieten. - Prachtige cabine op een heuvel met mooi uitzicht. De cabine heeft alles wat je nodig hebt, goed bed, schone badkamer, mini bar, TV, terrasje met je eigen ligbedden en zwembad. Het is er schoon en stil. De medewerkers super vriendelijk en service gericht. Ze zijn het restaurant aan het verbouwen en eigenlijk is dat niet zo erg want ze bezorgen ontbijt, lunch en diner in je cabine. Dit vonden wij erg knus. Eten was gevarieerd en erg lekker. Een eigen Tuktuk brengt je op verzoek naar Ella of naar een van de bezienswaardigheden in de buurt. We kunnen deze accommodatie van harte aanbevelen. Je krijgt er geen spijt van als je hier heerlijk komt ontspannen.
• vicky (8/5): Interesting cabins just outside Ella. - Quiet location out of Ella . Lovely staff , very helpful . Staff attentive and interesting owner telling us about building the cabins . The breakfast was a bit disappointing as they tried too hard to provide full English and they do not have bacon , it would have been preferable to have more fruit and yoghurt . Be prepared for steep steps and a Tuk Tuk ride up a very steep narrow path! Not for anyone with mobility issues.
• Connie (10/5): Amazing cabins with breathtaking views - We absolutely loved our stay at the Tea Cabins. The accommodation was spotless and the staff were very attentive and helpful. It is in a very quiet area, around a 10 minute tuktuk drive from Ella centre, but they provide you with a tuktuk service to and from the cabins making this an easy commute for dinner etc. The breakfast is delivered to your room and is delicious. The views from the cabin are beautiful and the pool was great, we were sad to leave!!
• Moodaliar (10/5): Peaceful Escape in Ella - Highly Recommend - We had a wonderful stay at Tea Cabins in Ella. The location is fantastic - peacefully tucked away from the busy town, yet still very easy to access everything. On our first night, we stayed in the round chalet, which had stunning views. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We also took an early morning walk to Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak - both were easy to reach, and the staff kindly helped arrange a tuk-tuk for us. A day later, we stayed in their A-frame cabin, which was even more beautiful and made the experience extra special. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable stay. Highly recommend, and we would definitely come back!

• Julian (10/5): Incredible Stay - One of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka! The private infinity pool overlooking the mountains was an absolute highlight and made the stay truly unforgettable. Both dinner and breakfast were served in the room and were delicious. There is also a lovely shared pool available, adding to the overall relaxing atmosphere. The free tuk-tuk pickup from Ella was very helpful and made arrival easy and stress-free. Our only regret was not staying longer than one night - we would definitely visit again!

The A-frame cabins are gorgeous, offering stunning multi-level views of the mountains. Having a private pool and lounge area felt like true luxury, and nothing beats waking up to those vistas and enjoying breakfast poolside. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly, keeping us cool throughout our stay. What really set this place apart was the service. The staff were fantastic, incredibly responsive, and organized complimentary tuk-tuks for us for everything from our initial pickup to trips into Ella town. The food was equally impressive—the Sri Lankan breakfast delivered to our room was a particular highlight. We truly hope to be back!
• Skye (10/5): a super special place, the best place to stay in ella - we were very excited to stay here, and it more than exceeded our expectations. it is a little off the beaten track, but they organise tuk tuks for you to and from ella centre free of charge, and to other key locations for an excellent price. the tuk service was outstanding, they pick you up from anywhere in ella within 15 minutes, at any time. the room itself was incredibly designed and super clean, with lots of amenities. it felt very secluded and private, and they decorated the room beautifully for our anniversary. the staff went above and beyond constantly. i would not have wanted to stay anywhere else in ella. breakfast was also really nice, and very big considering it was included with the room.

I was kindly given a complimentary upgrade to an A-frame cabin, which made the stay even more special. Breakfast was lovely, and we really enjoyed walking to the nearby Nine Arch Bridge. The team couldn’t do enough for us throughout our stay, always going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The private pool was a real highlight, and the cabin had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and relaxing experience. The tuk-tuk service to Ella town was a great added touch and made getting around incredibly easy. We would definitely visit again!
• Nancy (8/5): A unique experience - The newly built a-frame cabin is luxuriously appointed and spacious inside with a comfy bed looking out to the view overlooking the valley. With a large patio and pool overhanging the hillside with tropical plantings surrounding, the Tea cabins are a unique place to stay. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Free tuk tuk service into town was a bonus and the complementary breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Location close to 9 arch bridge via a short walk along the nearby railway is a plus. The location is farther from town than expected and food service at the property is limited at this time. This will improve as they are currently building a new restaurant and 3 more cabins on site.

I needed help with some mosquito repellent and the staff went into the town to get it for me. The cabin was incredible and the location is out of this world- the views are amazing. The food was also incredible. The stay was 10/10 and was a highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. The pool could have been a bit warmer 😅

• Georgia (9/5): Paradise found. - We loved our stay at Tea Cabins. They are stunning buildings and incredibly spacious inside and out. Nicely appointed, a comfy bed, and storage space inside. Breakfast was served on our terrace overlooking nature - simply perfect. It was plentiful and tasty with a western and Sri Lankan option. The pool and private sun deck were such a tranquil treat between exploring the surrounding area. It was a joy to just sit - or lie out on the over-jungle netting - and watch the birds, monkeys, deer, and other wildlife do its thing. There’s a free and super-handy tuktuk service into Ella, which is a 10-15 minute ride away. It was always available and very prompt to arrive. We highly recommend Tea Cabins for a wonderful relaxing, comfortable and peaceful stay in nature. Nothing!

• Nienke (10/5): - Our stay at Tea Cabins was really amazing! Nice views, beautiful cabin, private pool and the staff was very friendly. It is a bit outside of the city (which we actually liked) but they offered us a free tuktuk ride to and from Ella city center so this was no problem. And as a bonus you can take a beautiful walk directly from the cabins along the train tracks to the Nine Arch Bridge.
• T.A.R.E.K (10/5): Great stay in nature - A unique stay right in the middle of nature. You really feel like you’re in the jungle (without wildlife… hopefully 😂). It’s very peaceful, though nights are more for staying indoors as the little “nature guests” come alive around you 😂 The cabins are beautifully rustic, very clean, and you can feel the quality in the build. The views are amazing, and the private pool is a great touch, would be even better with heating for colder weather. They also offer a tuktuk service with two free rides per night stay, plus discounted rates for additional trips, which is very convenient. The food, including breakfast and other menu traditional dishes, was excellent. Everything we tried was delicious. Thank you for the honeymoon lovely room decoration and thebwarm welcome! A heated pool would make it more enjoyable in colder weather. The bathroom door to the outdoors could use a lock from outside to lock the door after exiting. Also, placing the pool light/torch higher up could help attract flies away from the pool area

• Juliet (9/5): Amazing cabin with pool and stunning view! - We loved the cabin! It is up lots of steps but that gives you a view! They provide tuk tuks free of changes to Ella which really helped! Very peaceful, clean and a treat to stay in something so unusual. The sunken bath is very slippery and needs mats in the bottom and on the steps. I feel and hurt my back badly.

• Ann-Katrin (10/5): Traumhaft schöne Unterkunft - Es war perfekt. Wir hatten die Unterkunft mit dem langen Pool. Das Zimmer war super ausgestattet, toll eingerichtet, gute Lage und einfach traumhaft schön. Das Personal war super nett und immer verfügbar. Die Tea Cabins sind etwas außerhalb, aber man hat pro Nacht zwei Tuktuk Fahrten umsonst, in der Stadt ist man mit dem Tuktuk innerhalb von 5-10 Minuten. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen. Moskitonetze unbedingt mitbringen, es sind leider noch meine vorhanden.

• Beth (8/5): Incredible views and location! - The staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had x2 free Tuk Tuk trips into Ella town each day was very generous. We loved our stay at Tea Cabins, the pool, view and cabin was amazing! And it was nice to be only 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride to town, but you have the quietness of being outside of town. We were on our honeymoon and the staff very kindly decorated the room for us which was such a lovely surprise. Highly recommend! Unfortunately the main part with the restaurant and pool was being redone while we were there, so any food we ordered was delivered to our room instead of being able to sit somewhere. As lovely as it is having room service and eating on our own, it meant the food wasn't always hot when it had arrived. However the food was absolutely delicious!
• Debra (10/5): A unique place in amongst the mountains - We stayed at the Tea Cabin on the recommendation of a friend who came the year before. We weren't disappointed! The cabin was really spacious with it's own little pool, and the main pool for swimming was just a few steps away. The cabin itself is designed well, and we appreciated the provision of a mosquito net over the bed. The shower was great - hot and powerful, probably the best one we had in Sri Lanka! The team at the Tea Cabins were always on hand and very helpful. The Tea Cabins are a short (approx 10 min) tuk tuk ride from Ella which was very easy to arrange through the management team. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone else going to Sri Lanka.

• Portia (10/5): Stunning! - This place was superb; we wished we had stayed longer! Firstly, the staff were wonderful. Easily contactable via watsapp and always happy to be of assistance. The place itself was gorgeous! We stayed in the superior villa which sits across two levels. The upper level is a delightful space to chill out where you can either watch some tv, read a book or spend some time looking at the spectacular view. The two chairs up there are so comfortable that I ended having a wonderful nap in one of them! There’s also a daybed should you prefer. The downstairs level is the main living space which includes a wonderful bathroom which has a powerful shower and amenities provided. The bed is large and super comfy as is the egg chair in the room. Breakfast was hearty and delicious (Sri Lankan breakfast was our fave!) and though we didn’t get to avail ourselves of the pool due to the abysmal weather, it was clean and a good size to do some lengths. Overall this has been our favourite accommodation in Sri Lanka so far! We appreciated not being in the main town but only a short drive / tuk tuk ride away (you have a complimentary number of tuk tuk trips into town depending on how long you stay). When we return to Sri Lanka we will definitely stay here again and for longer than 2 nights!

Staff very friendly and happy to help. Easy to contact via a WhatsApp group set up prior to the stay. Slightly far out of Ella but the free tuktuk makes up for this

• Marie (10/5): Gerne wären wir noch länger geblieben. Vielen Dank! - Wir waren zwei Nächte in den tea cabins und haben die Zeit wirklich genossen. Das Hotel besteht nur aus drei privaten cabins mit einem Wohnbereich, einem Schlafbereich, dem Bad und einer grossen Terrasse inklusive Pool. Das ganze Team war sehr zuvorkommend. Wir konnten jederzeit über WhatsApp Fragen stellen und mit jemandem kommunizieren. Auch das Essen, das im Haus gekocht wird, war wirklich sehr gut. Die Zimmer werden täglich gereinigt und es gibt eine große Auswahl an Frühstücksoptionen, die man am Tag vorher auswählen kann. Das Essen wird zu den cabins geliefert. Das Hotel liegt etwas weiter abseits, aber mit dem Tuktuk war alles gut erreichbar. Nach Ella braucht man ungefähr 10 Minuten. Wir hatten außerdem 4 freie Fahrten inklusive. Es werden aktuell noch neue cabins gebaut, uns haben die Bauarbeiten aber nicht gestört.
• Jonathan (7/5): Lovely apartments that are currently compromised by construction work - Great apartment with good facilities and very friendly helpful staff. Unfortunately not as advertised peaceful at one with nature resort currently. Construction work on new buildings means that during the day in working hours there is a lot of disturbance. This is unfortunate as a lovely location and great apartment.

• Angie (10/5): Paradise in the mountains ! - Wow!! The Tea Cabins truly lives up to all previous reviews we have read. We just spent 3 nights at Tea Cabins and absolutely loved everything about it. The villas are stunning, the surrounding area is breath taking and the family & staff at the Tea Cabins are the most kindest, beautiful people who made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Their communication prior to our arrival & throughout our stay was exceptional. A visit here is an absolute must!! Thank you everyone at the Tea Cabins for making our stay unforgettable. Oh and food prepared by their in-house chef was absolutely delicious!! I must also mention the beautiful white dog who chilled at the villas whilst we were there. Although she doesn’t belong to Tea Cabins, they were kind to her and she was well treated. We named her ‘Ella’ and she loved to be fussed over and have her belly rubbed. So if you are lucky enough to see her, please make a fuss of her & give her some yummy treats! That we couldn’t stay longer!!
• Paul (10/5): Excellent luxurious cabin with a view - Tea Cabins were located in a lovely hill area and were very private. A warm welcome on arrival and very friendly staff throughout. Nothing was too much trouble. We ordered a meal which they served on our terrace along with a nice bottle of wine. The cabin itself was well equipped, and dressing gowns provided which was a nice touch. Highly recommend this hotel. Nothing

• Anika (10/5): Beautiful cabins nestled in nature, perfect for peace and relaxation. - We loved our stay at Tea Cabins. We felt it was a special place nestled into the jungle and surrounded by beautiful nature and views. We liked staying away from the chaos of Ella town centre. We felt like we had our own little oasis to come back to and relax after exploring and hiking around Ella. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. They even decorated our bed and provided a yummy cake as a honeymoon gift. This accommodation was really suited to our style holiday but I can see why some might find it too far from town. It was really helpful that they provided one free return trip tuk tuk ride a day to Ella Town Centre. This meant we could explore and get food in town while still coming back to our own little retreat. The accommodation is walking distance to 9 Arch Bridge and staff took us to the train tacks by tuk tuk to walk there. If ever there was an issue, the staff addressed and resolved the issues as best as they could immediately. The breakfasts were great and the bed was really comfortable. Thank you Tea Cabins family. We hope to be back one day. As mentioned, we really loved our stay. However, Tea Cabins might not be for everyone. It's important to note that if you're someone that prefers to stay close to town then this is not the place for you. This accommodation is suited to those that like peace and relaxation away from the chaos of busy towns. Also, there is a short, steep slope and stairs up to our cabin... this may be difficult for someone living with a health or disability condition that impacts their capacity to walk up steep hills and stairs. But I believe there were two other cabins closer to reception that might have a smaller amount of steps/less of a hill (maybe check with the resort before booking).

• Uditha (10/5): Tranquility, Comfort, and Amazing Service - We had an incredible stay at Tea Cabins! The staff were excellent - friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The property is nestled within a beautiful tea estate, offering a peaceful and secluded atmosphere while still being easily accessible from Ella town via tuk-tuk. Everything was well organized, from check-in to meal service. The food was absolutely delicious and conveniently delivered right to our room. Waking up to the morning views with a fresh breakfast was a highlight of our stay. One of the best features was having our own private pool - such a luxury in this serene setting. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax and soak in the natural beauty of Ella.

• Joshua (10/5): Stop looking and book! - Everything! The superior Villa was spacious, very clean and had everything you could need and want. Pool was a lovely touch to cool down in after a hot day. The staff were fantastic. They add you into a WhatsApp chat prior to your visit so can get anything you want anytime you want. Always responded in a few minutes. We ordered food, booked taxis and tuktuks very easily. Fantastic tool as the cabins are 10 minutes or so outside of Ella. It made it so easy. 2 free tuktuk rides a day into Ella town and even when paying they are really affordable. Makes staying outside in the relaxed tea plantations so worth it Breakfasts are fantastic! Fill you up for the day. Choice of English or Sri Lankan. We had Sri Lankan on all 3 mornings. So tasty and filling. We ordered evening meals on two evenings from the menu provided. Plenty of options of food and drink. The food was so good, definitely worth it when you've been out all day. Do not hesitate to book this place. The views, the villa, the food and the staff all make it the place to go! I didn't like the fact we had to leave!

Superb breakfast brought to your room - Sri Lankan or English . Staff all very friendly , free tuk tuk service 2 per day . Could not fault and would 100% stay again. Nothing - however if you are unfit , overweight or elderly it’s a steep walk. No problem for most people and Definately worth the walk

• RM (9/5): - We loved the location and the tranquility at the Tea cabins. The cabins were beautiful and there were all the amenities to make it a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The staff were super helpful and went above and beyond at every opportunity to make our stay special. You can walk to the 9 arch bridge along the railway from the tea cabins which was a highlight for us as it is a less well known route! It is a little bit outside of Ella which was fine for us and the tuk tuk service they offer was amazing! Free tuk tuk into the town. If you are looking for a central location in the town then this wouldn’t be the property for you.

The staff was very accommodating. They even give you a free breakfast every morning that they make by hand. It was absolutely delicious. Make this your stay in Ella. N/A.

• Olivia (8/5): - The staff were friendly and really helpful at all times The hotel offers free tuk tuk rides to the city centre which was really helpful and such a good perk The breakfast was delicious Th room was really high up we had to walk up really steep slopes and steep stairs to get to the room, it was ok for us but wouldn’t be comfortable for everyone. There were a lot of bugs in the room (as expected in the jungle) and quite noisy through the night with all the wildlife
• Philipp (10/5): Ein toller Aufenthalt in einer besonderen Unterkunft! - Die Lage der Tea Cabins war wirklich besonders! Man hatte eine tolle Aussicht aus der Cabin und dem Pool, inmitten der tollen Landschaft und mit einer schönen Aussicht ins Grüne! Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, es gab auch zwei kostenfreie Transfers pro Nacht mit dem TukTuk nach Ella, sodass man trotz der abgelegenen Lage gut die Stadt erkunden hatte! Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt!!
• Claudia (10/5): Magisch - Super ruhige Gegend.Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Konnten drei Nächte sehr genießen. Sehr sauber. Frühstück war gut, man konnte sehr viel auswählen vor allem beim Sri Lanka Frühstück. Sollten wir nochmals nach Ella kommen werden wir zu 100% die Tea Cabins nochmals buchen. Sehr Außergewöhnlich :D Was man besser machen könnte: Es sind einige Fahrten (Hin- und Rückfahrt) nach Ella im Preis miteinbezogen. Sobald wir die Nachricht zur gefragten Abholung gestellt haben, mussten wir leider auf eine Antwort länger warten und desshalb auch leider auf das Shuttle. Sie waren aber immer steht's bemüht und haben sich entschuldigt sobald wir mit einem City Tuk Tuk angekommen sind (natürlich selbst bezahlt). Der Pool ist nicht beheizt! Ziemlich knackig für die Außentemperatur ;) Die Türen könnte man Ölen, da sie ein bisschen klemmen. Kritik auf hohem Niveau! Danke für den außergewöhnlichen Aufenthalt.

El personal fue encantador! A destacar que proporcionan muchísimas facilidades de movilidad, ya que al estar un poco alejado es necesario moverse en Tuk Tuk! Desayuno muy rico!. The free tuk tuk into the centre of Ella was a great touch and it was really easy to organise. There were squirrels nesting in the roof of our room and were scrabbling around all night long which resulted in a poor nights sleep. The tea cabins looks amazing at a first glance but upon closer inspection it’s very tired and could do with a bit of money invested into it.

The complementary Tuk Tuk service into Ella was great. Also visited the tea factory. Close to railway to easily get to 9 arch bridge. Breakfast brought to room was lovely.

Our accommodation was exceptional, with a private pool and a breathtaking view. The location, slightly outside of Ella, is perfect to enjoy peace and quiet while staying close to the lively town center. Getting around was super easy — Tea Cabins has its own tuk-tuk service, and you simply send a WhatsApp message to be picked up or dropped off anywhere you wish. I had also requested a bottle of Prosecco and something special for my wife’s birthday — the team prepared everything perfectly for our arrival, which made the moment even more memorable. Breakfast was delicious every morning — we tried the Sri Lankan breakfast (highly recommended!) but a Western option is also available. We enjoyed it by our private pool, a wonderful way to start the day. The hotel also serves dinner and delivers it directly to your room — the food was authentic, tasty, and beautifully prepared. In short, an unforgettable stay with incredibly kind people — always smiling, attentive, and genuinely caring. We would return without hesitation!
