• Mary (7/5): Really great pool, comfortable room and lovely view of the lake! - Pool was really great and refreshing. The whole town is sweltering, but because of the lovely plants and pool El Tejado is comfortable even without getting in the pool. Such a respite! Views of the lake were lovely at the restaurant. Beds are decent and cleanliness is decent…but better at other hotels we stayed at during our time in El Salvador. Still, the rooms are charming, spacious and comfortable. Oh! And hot water was great! Most other hotels had inconsistent hot water. Food was decent. Breakfast was very good. So close to the center of town—very convenient. Bed could have been more comfortable. Cleanliness of room—ants in room.

• L (10/5): Lovely! - The location had a great view to the lake and was near everything(restaurants, downtown, ect.)The staff was kind and attentive. In addition I have to mention ,I forgot some money and my charger at checkout and they messaged me to return it, all the money was intact and my charger was neatly rolled, showing this is a very trust worthy establishment.
• JILL (10/5): Fabulous stay - Fantastic stay we booked a room with a balcony looking over volcano it was amazing watching sunrise every morning The restaurant was fabulous with amazing music from our era 70’s 80’s Pool was a bonus Breakfast was good only thing was it didn’t start until 8 Staff were great so were the margaritas and food Would definitely recommend this hotel and the rooms with the balcony Just so you know it is hard work walking to town if you have mobility problems as streets are cobbled You can get small taxi car if needed Suggest kettle in the room AC was a little noisy but with earplugs was ok Breakfast didn’t start until 8 so if you had early pick up made it bit of a rush

• Melody (10/5): I stay 5 times already in the past and I will continue to choose the same place again. El tejado is my number #1 overal - Security during staying. They always have someone at the entrance who reports when someone is coming in so the front desk is aware of.

Der Ausblick von der sehr schönen Terrasse auf den See ist überwältigend. Der Pool lädt zum entspannen und abkühlen ein. Das Personal ist herzlich und hilfsbereit. Hier passt alles!

• Manuel (10/5): Our stay felt like being at home, but more relaxing. - The staff is friendly and attentive. The garden is beautiful and the views of the lake are outstanding. The rooms are comfortable, quiet and well maintained. The food and drinks are excellent and priced fairly. I recommend this hotel and will stay there during my next visit to Suchitoto. The lake was contaminated with water lettuce during my visit. There was a musty smell from the lake and lots of mosquitoes. Not the hotels fault, but still a distraction from an otherwise great experience.

• Pieter (10/5): Fraai uitzicht, goed ontbijt! - De locatie is goed met fraai uitzicht op het meer. Goed ontbijt en een superfijn zwembad. De afstand naar het centrale plein is 10 minuten lopen. Op de 1e avond viel de stroom. Zonder airco was het erg heet in de kamer.

I also loved the parrots on premis - An absolute paradise in a beautiful little town with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The family that owns and operates the hotel and restaurant are friendly and hospitable. It was a pleasure to stay at El Tejado, and I look forward to my next visit. Loved it all

• Michelle (9/5): Beautiful property but outside guests using pool needs supervision - The view of the lake was magnificent. Loved the pool, the cactus garden and the lush grounds. Friendly staff, and very good housekeeping. It was a seven minute walk to the main plaza in town which has a beautiful church and a daily craft market. Lots of cafés nearby if you want a break from the restaurant. Very good breakfasts at the hotel. The hotel allows outside people to come and use the pool for $10 and on the weekends Iit was so busy that hard to find a place to sit. Also a lot of noisy children jumping in and out of the pool and people leaving dirty plastic cups, along the edges of the pool . There didn’t seem to be any staff supervising any of this.
• Bala (10/5): The best hotel, venue, view, pool, gardens, restaurant and kind staff, - We loved everything about it; the beautiful view, the outdoor eating area, the kindness of all the staff, the large bedroom & balcony, the bathroom was large the pool was AMAZING and the adorable talking birds at the reception desk. There are only 14 rooms at the hotel, the room 11, 12, 13 & 14 have the balcony views. The included breakfast was lovely, had 9 options to choose from. Dinner could be ordered until 7:30pm, really good food. The location is about 1/2 mile from the main plaza and an easy walk. It was a lovely place to stay in the final 3 days in El Salvador, our top place on the entire trip.

The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. We would stay again and would recommend. Having to pay for every drink straight after. They should have collated all the bills and we paid at check out. One night they came knocking on our door and my husband was already in bed and they wanted $8 for waters. Cash only.

• Diali (10/5): Loved it!! On a hot day we just stayed at the hotel all day to enjoy their amenities. what a wonderful stay!! - What an amazing view! Staff was genuinely kind and helpful. My elderly mother struggles with steps and there are steps here and there throughout the property. Someone from our group needed to be with her to provide an elbow for her to use as a railing. Not a problem, but I think it’s important to mention.

• Ricardo (5/5): We strongly condemn racism - Is clean and real beautiful We are Latinos and American citizens; since we arrived, the receptionist, a young white man from the Netherlands, showed a distrustful attitude towards us, which we noticed he didn't have with other guests. Every time we went out to the property, to the pool, or to take photos, he followed us everywhere, making us feel very uncomfortable. The bartender gave us an Americano coffee, trying to pass it off as an espresso. All the other employees were very friendly.

The weather and staff were ok We enjoy visiting this hotel all the time, we know how hard they try to keep the bugs from entering the room due to the wild life next to the facilities. The only suggestion besides fumigating the outdoor balcony is to LIMIT the time the day PASS users can stay in the pool, so the customers who check in at 4 PM. Very Late check in by the way, can enjoy the facilities with more comfort. ( a low fee for pool day users is fine, but they should tell them to leave before 4 pm before the staying overnight customers arrive )

• Evelyn (10/5): Best place in Suchitoto. - Huge pool where you can actually swim. Stunnig view with sunrise over the lake. Best breakfast and dinner, very good coffee. They have mashed potatoes! Very friendly staff. They go the extra mile. The room was very big and with nice interior. The best is the romantic garden. The rooms have actual windows (as I heard this is not the case in casa 1800)
