- Lebeloane (10/5): It was superb I wish I could stay for a week - The view and the set up, the staff was excellent Matthew is the best host The security must be set up the security gates to the property needs to be added
- MERRYL (10/5): Perfect stay for 2 nights - Spacious two bed/2 bathroom cottage. Very clean, lovely linen. Great view. Pool Nothing
- David (8/5): Clean facilities. Quiet location. - Pleasant staff. Peaceful surroundings.
- karen (9/5): - Very comfortable, lovely bathroom, outside sitting area and pool. Only issue was the hostess didn't wait for us to arrive - we were 15min after the time we said and then no-one was around. We struggled to find the cottages - they could have been better sign posted once you drove onto the wine estate. Had to disturb the farm manager who kindly helped us.
- John (5/5): Ok - Staff very nice and the view was to die for. The only thing that spoilt our stay was that the property wasn't serviced during our stay .so no clean towels for our second day . My wife wasn't impressed
- Britta (7/5): - Leider gab es kein Frühstück
- Isabelle (8/5): - Very nice view on the montains and the vineyards. The noise of main road justdown

- Franz (8/5): A cottage with an otherworldy view - The stunning view! One can sit all day long on the terrasse and watch the drama unfold, that is the winyards and the mountains, The clouds moving, the sun playing with the mountains, a glass of wine nearby...
The beed is very comfortable, bathroom well spaced. This is a strong recommendation. The kitchen could be a bit better equipped (proper hot plates, more crockery and stuff), and traffic on the Paarl road can be a bit disturbing at times
- George Marczak (8/5): -
- Guy (8/5): - Location Expensive restraunt
- Rob (10/5): Peaceful relaxing stay - Lovely and clean, Mathew was the perfect host nothing a problem The tree outside was blocking the wonderful view!

- Verena (9/5): -
- Jaco (9/5): Relaxing stay with amazing views - Excellent location and postcard pretty views. Well appointed although decor and furniture are somewhat dated. Great bed Absence of a privacy screen between the units on the deck

- Johannes (10/5): Volgend jaar weer terug!
- Grant (7/5): - no oven and toaster
- Rudi (8/5): - Location overlooking a vineyard; friendly staff; excellent restaurant on the property. It would have been nice to have cover for our vehicle - there are pigeons in the trees above that covered it with poop.
- Erasmus (9/5): Perfect place for the bridal party to prepare for the wedding - Peaceful N/A
- Sidney (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (9/5): Superb -
- Van (8/5): We had a lovely stay. - The view of the mountains The garden round the cottage is a little run down.
The cottage itself is very clean and comfortable.
- George (8/5): Good view from room. Clean and comfortable. Good location-near centre of town. - Curtains need attention. Garden bit run down and also needs attention. Security not up to standard. Safety a concern.
- Allison (9/5): fantastic, will return in opportunity arises - Great staff, amazing view, comfortable, clean and well decorated slight mix up with the room description on booking.com, decided to take two rooms instead and were charged a bit more to do this than we were originally told we would be.
- Kornelia (10/5): Wonderful time! - We had a fantastic time! The apartment is beautifully located with a stunning view of the vineyard. It’s tastefully decorated, very spacious, and equipped with everything you might need. A lovely surprise was a bottle of wine from the owners – such a thoughtful gesture. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always making sure we were comfortable and happy. We also dined at the restaurant on the vineyard grounds – the food was absolutely delicious. The whole stay exceeded our expectations, and we truly wished we could have stayed longer.
- Daniel (10/5): Awesome place and very welcoming staff. All topped off by a complementary bottle of wine from the vineyard. A -
- Linda (8/5): The cottage is very comfortable, great bathroom. Does need attention, a bit neglected. - Very nice view, excellent shower and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Staff very friendly. There is a lot of traffic noise from the road below the vineyard. This was quite irritating.
- Anava (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Too short - Location and chalet Nothing
- Van (5/5): Passable - The roooms are big and the beds are comfortable. The property is not looked after and a blocked shower were reported but nothing was done about it, wet towels were still on the floor after 6hours.
- Macy (10/5): Lovely stay at Topiary - Our recent stay at Topiary Wine Estate was a fantastic experience. The estate offers great value, a convenient location, and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were not only spotless but also beautifully designed, with stunning views that made our stay even more special. We were also delighted to find a bottle of Topiary’s delicious rosé waiting for us upon arrival, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The staff was incredibly pleasant, helpful, and welcoming. Matthew and Gwen went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay—Matthew prepared an excellent breakfast each morning, and Gwen’s homemade tarts were absolutely delightful. Their kindness and hospitality truly stood out.
If you’re looking for a charming and relaxing stay in the winelands, with breathtaking views, thoughtful touches, and exceptional service, Topiary is a perfect choice. We would absolutely return!
- Collin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eduan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julian (8/5): Lovely location with views across the vineyard. - Lovely location with great views. Workmen digging up the drive starting at 0700 in the morning.
- Izet (5/5): Passable -
- Geoffrey (8/5): Perfect place to relax - Breakfast was just great (simple but complete), the location was amazing with the sunset between the mountains, the staff was so kind and caring.
- Conrad (10/5): Great place. - Overall a good experience. The estate is outside franschoek, BUT very conveniently located to get to Franschoek and the other surrounding wine estates. There may be no oven or stove but they do provide a small gas stove with some pots and a pan. Limited range of cutlery.
- Isabel (10/5): Exceptional - Matthew was an excellent host and took excellent care of us.
- Jolene (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous location and views
- Herman (9/5): Great Winelands stay! - Beautiful view.
Fantastic restaurant.
Nice and private. Nothing
- Sheldon (8/5): Very good - Very good cheff and food.
- Jacqui (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (1/5): You are on your own(No Accountability) - The complentary wine tasting was lovely
The food was also lovely, from soup to main course.
The view and the quietness of the place was peaceful, being a mom of 4 I really needed that quietness The way I was treated when there was no electricity, unexpected things happen and it would have been better if the property took accountability instead of just saying they will offer me a torch when I needed to charge my devices especially my laptop. My calls were ignored until I wrote a message on app and still the offer that remained is that we will be provided with a torch
- Usher (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ian (1/5): Terrible experience. - The area is nice. We booked because the advert said “private pool”. We checked in went to our cottage and were then informed that the pool was communal but under renovation and unable to be used. We asked if we could cancel our booking and look elsewhere that had a pool. We were told yes. We moved out and found alternate accommodations with a pool. We were informed the next day that we had been charged the full amount of the 2 night stay even though we were told we could move out. We have had a number of messages with Topiary but they refuse to refund the money. We are extremely disappointed in their responses, and feel we were totally misled by the booking description. We would like to know how to make a formal complaint against them.
- Attila (8/5): Very good -
- Neels (7/5): Good - Location was great,
The rooms were good very clean.
Bed very very very comfortable.
Bath was great.
Water pressure was very good. Too expensive for locals and no acces to a pool or hot tub
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant - A lovely comfortable room with stunning view. Unfortunately we arrived to discover building works on site and the pool out of use. The owner was very dismissive when we expressed our disappointement.
- Susan (8/5): Lovely room and very clean. Stunning views - The view is amazing and the area peaceful
- Tim (9/5): Great room, with an amazing restaurant nearby - Lovely room with a beautiful terrace and view. The food in the restaurant was amazing, one of the best during our travels, and the staff there were really lovely, It was just sad it was only open at lunch while we were there. The 2 wines that we tried were also really good. Building work was going on nearby, which was really annoying the one day we planned to spend the whole day relaxing. But once that is finished all will be good.
- Carole (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good, view great. The images did not accurately represent the size of the accommodation. Having to share the deck area with guests in the cottage next door
- Kevin (9/5): outstanding -
- Jacqui (10/5): Just perfect we felt so relaxed and spoilt - Very central to all the delights of the valley but quiet and private with a superb view ,
We will be back 😊 Nothing
- Linda (6/5): Pleasant - Good staff. Restaurant staff very good. No pool available
- Maryann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abrahams (10/5): Exceptional - It was lovely nice and quiet I really enjoyed the views it's breathtaking 😍 The fact that there was no bathrobes in the room as they advertised
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Tammy (10/5): Lovely spot for a night in Franschhoek - The views are amazing. The staff and wine tasting was great. The room was comfortable and clean with all we needed.
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Johan (1/5): Very disappointed!!!! - No handwash and wine glasses on arrival. Is a wine farm!! Place in dire need of maintenance on the outside. Although there is a kitchenette there is no place to wash up. You are expected to wash plates/glasses in bathroom. Disgusting!! Take note this was their "De lux unit". No daily service available although it's stated on Booking.com.
Nobody to complain to. The answer you get is, "Sorry the owner lives in France". Actually, felt sorry for the staff.
Stay away. Booking.com should remove this place from their listing.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kéan (10/5): superb - comfy
- Melanie (10/5): excellent - everything!
- F (9/5): Wonderful location. - Beautiful location. Well located for Franschoek. Staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Kitchen very basic, no drainer for dishes. Would be nice to have a combi microwave so there is a small oven at least. Fine for a short stay.
- Timo (8/5): Very good -
- Janinebs (8/5): Very good -
- Dita (10/5): Exceptional - The amazing view, privacy, comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. The wine is really good, friendly service and an exceptional chef who can pair wine with food for you.
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Lovely location and fantastic sunsets. One of the bedroom window hinge was broken and felt like it might collapse if opened.
- Jaco (10/5): We had a lovely stay, had an exceptional surprise dinner - really enjoyed our stay - thank you -
- Jovita (10/5): Stunning view - beautiful views, good wine and delicious food.
- Stephen (6/5): A Valentine's Day comedy of error. - It's the only place I've ever stayed where I could make love in the bath while gazing at the Milky Way.
On 5th January I booked a two day stay and, separately, a Valentine's day dinner at Hari Kitchen, the independently run restaurant on the farm. I wasn't told what the set menu was until 12th February. A few courses were not suitable for my wife but chef offered to accomodate her with some changes to avoid cancelling. We were very happy with this, but then at one o'clock on Valentine's day he emailed me saying he couldn't do it after all. Very disappointing. Spent afternoon trying in vain to find somewhere else in Franschhoek at very short notice. In the end had a nice braai back at the vineyard. A bit short on utensils though; no decent knife, no braai tools apart from tongs, and although (see above) the bathroom was fantastic with a double shower, two sinks and a large slipper bath with literally heavenly views, there was no sink to wash dishes, so self-catering a bit of a struggle.
On top of this disappointment there was a problem with my payment via booking.com. This caused some AngloFrench conflict before being resolved with the help of the excellent African staff. To top it off I drove away with the room key and had to go back next day to return it. Tant pis pour moi. Ha ha.
- Nico (9/5): Superb -
- Shain (7/5): Room for improvement - The Tranquility Spiders in the chalet and no Toaster. No Backup Generator during loadshedding
- Garry (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic venue. Highly rated cottages with amazing views.
- Martijn (9/5): Pretty spacious room, very good food! - Great spacious room, aircon was really necesssary (and you'd notice it being switched of during load shedding). Beautiful bath room. Pool in front of the appartment, you share it with the owners, whom stay next to you. Free bottle of wine upon arrival. Possibility to do some tasting in the taste room of the estate, you'll be able to do lunch as well, diner upon request. The diner was REALLY good, best we had during our holiday. Personel superfriendly! Would recommend to come here. Possibility for breakfast would've been nice. And a bigger fridge (small hotel fridge in the room).
- Rholeen (9/5): A gorgeous, exceptionally delicious, and peaceful countryside escape worth recommending. Thank you! - The property was lovely! Just far enough for peace and quiet without feeling too far from town. We enjoyed the vineyards and melons along the road. The cottages had a beautiful view from the patio that was wonderful to wake up too! On the walk over to the pool, we passed a handful of wasps nests. Wasps are an important part of the environment but it made the walk over a bit intimidating and uncomfortable. We were nervous if we walked too far into an area near the wasps on accident that the wasps would attack.
- Lizanne (8/5): Comfortable and relaxing stay on a Franschhoek wine estate - Nice location, beautiful view, comfortable room and quiet location. The pool was clean and we enjoyed a nice afternoon swim to cool down. I think the property needs better upkeep and maintenance.
- Monique (9/5): Superb -
- Davide (6/5): Load shedding! Needs renovation urgently - Views It is a needing renovation. It is isolated. Load shedding a big problem. Pool in terrible condition.
- Dita (10/5): Exceptional - An exceptionally beautiful room with an enormous bathroom! Terrace with a great view and a private swimming pool. The staff and owners are amazing! Especially big thanks to the chef who cooks delicious meals!
- Aldrich (8/5): Very good -
- Tanya (8/5): Very good -
- Alastair (8/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate in recommending it as a must when visiting Franschhoek. - The location was great - brilliant views - extremely comfortable bed and super shower, bathroom and braai facilities - very well equipped too. Also received a warm welcome from the member of staff who was also very helpful. The pool area was a little tired.
- Christie (9/5): Superb - They view from deck was amazing with the most beautiful sunset.
- Pamela (10/5): Lovely - The place I beautiful, clean and I want to go back there again soon. Fact that there was no coffee, and water. I was force to drink bathroom water. And I was worried if the water is clean.
- Pule (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, great location in the middle of the wine lands including a welcome drink of their wines. We had a perfect wine tasting and the food was sensational. The Chef Mr. Nash ;-) did an extraordinary job and could feel that he loves what he is doing. Perfect option to book one of the cottages so you do not need to drive home. Everything was great, thank you for the sensational and individual stay!
- Frederich (8/5): Very good -
- Johann (7/5): Good -
