Guest Reviews
- Nichola (8/5): - Lovely stay, breakfast was lovely, best I've had!
Room was spacious and bed was comfy.
A loose tile on the bathroom and room a bit warm but other than that it was lovely!
- Will (6/5): - Good breakfast. Room rather basic and tired. Friendly staff.
- Anthony (8/5): Good not Great - This is a lovely pub in a beautiful, picturesque village that is very convenient for visiting many attractions within about 20 miles of the village. Dinner was good, breakfast was excellent and our waitress at breakfast was exceptional. Our room had been repainted fairly recently and it was functional, but don’t expect luxury. Twin beds were comfortable but no headboard. The wall mirror was so high, my wife couldn’t see herself and the ‘tea tray’ was basic (and the cheap kettle had water left in it). The bathroom was dated and in need of a re-fit but it was clean enough. I didn’t have a problem with the 12.5% discretionary service charge at dinner but it might offend some. Car park was adequate, but there is building work being undertaken at the far end, with access for tradespeople via the car park. Overall, our stay was good, elevated by an excellent breakfast experience but it could easily be lifted to a much higher level with some investment in the room (bathroom in particular), a new access door to the corridor from the car park and happier staff at dinner.
- IAN PHILIP (10/5): - Great food and comfy bed. Breakfast was a treat not to be missed
- Dawn (8/5): - This lovely pub had a lot to offer and overall I had a good 2night stay here.
As early evening arrival it was nice that my key was all there ready for me
My room was at the back of this pub through separate doors making it very quiet. It was of a nice size with decent mirrors and well positioned plugs, so getting ready as a guest attending a wedding made it easy.
On a down side the room was very hot.
The floor in both the bedroom & bathroom felt like it had underfloor heating on but I think it was maybe the hot water pipes and although it had 2 large windows that opened being on the ground floor with the carpark right outside felt like someone could climb in.
There was a fan in the room but it was not that good, old needs replacing.
The cooked breakfast in the morning was excellent. Nicely prepared and great choice on offer. All the staff were cheerful and attentive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Deddington Arms - The staff were very friendly, breakfast was very fantastic ,great choice and the evening meal was excellent.Room 10 was noisy-fan or washing machine spinning long after 10pm,rooms a little tired but clean.
- Stephen (8/5): - Comfortable bed, though room was very hot (one part of the floor was always warm, room 9) so in the hot weather it was very hard to cool down.
Great food in the restaurant but I’m not a fan of ‘Discretionary service charges’ being automatically applied to food bills… much better to price the meal including service on the menu, or invite a gratuity…
Breakfast had a good choice of dishes, though allow 20 minutes for it to be prepared.
Pretty village and quiet at night.
- Iain (10/5): - Very relaxed atmosphere with delightful friendly and helpful staff.
- Mark (10/5): - Great atmosphere and a lovely place to stay.
- Martin (10/5): -
- David (10/5): - Very nice relaxing
- Allan (10/5): Deddington stay 2025 - Hotel in nice location. Very clean.
Friendly and helpful staff.
- Shirley (10/5): Excellent stay for short break to explore nearby. - Had lovely 2 night stay. The hotel is in a lovely village. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was very good and the evening meal was excellent.
- David (6/5): - Staff excellent. Room had two issues window insecure and sink does not drain properly
- Gareth (10/5): Stay near Oxford - Great welcome from a very friendly set of staff. Very welcoming. Really nice village/town pub with rooms. Lovely breakfast and nice and quiet
- Paul (8/5): - Pub with lots of character and friendly staff.
- Pat (8/5): - Very pleasant overnight stay
- Kane (10/5): - Fantastic service with a smile from the two lovely ladies working Sunday morning serving breakfasts.
- Jillian (10/5): Our 3rd visit and we still like it ! - Its the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel. We like because it is close to family and there are also others attractions close by. Deddington is a nice little village. We have always found the property clean and staff are great. We noticed this time the room needs updating and freshening up. They serve a very good breakfast and for dinner there is a good choice. Restuarant is very comfortable.
- Simon (10/5): Great place - Friendly staff. Rooms are older, but the Inn was built in the 1500's, so what do you expect? Rooms were a great size and the water pressure was outstanding. Breakfast was great and included with our stay. Good restaurant too for dinner.
- William (10/5): - Great stay, great breakfast
- Rod (8/5): Comfortable and Convenient - Stay here fairly regularly while visiting family in Deddington.
Rooms have varied in standard.
This visit the room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant service excellent, very helpful and friendly.
Bathroom OK but shower could do with renewing and extract fan didn't work.
But overall, good value for money.
- Jeff (10/5): - Second time I have stayed here,it was better. A decent room nice and warm ,lovely hot bath when its freezing outsde. Plenty to eat in the evening and even more in the morning.Super staff and a very nice place to stay.
- lily (8/5): Good for a night or 2 - Lovely little pub to stay In for a night or two. Rooms arent huge but do the job and are clean. Bathrooms need upgrading however. Details like nets/curtains could do with being replaced as frayed ect. Breakfast was included in our room price and there was a good selection or continental and cooked options. Vegetarian options available. Would be nice if dinner services started T 5.30 rather than 6 as we had somewhere to be at 7. Over all a decent place to stay
- Deborah (10/5): - The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely
- Avril (10/5): - Fantastic value, absolutely awesome food ,evening meal and breakfast. Good sized bed, lovely quality sheets ,slept well.Decor dated in accommodation and exterior could do with paiting windows etc but superb value
- Sharon (10/5): - Beautiful accommodation. Fabulous staff. Lovely location.
- Nikki (10/5): Well done - Our stay was lovely, welcoming was good, nice and friendly staff, nothing was to much of a proper for them, locals residents in the pub were also friendly, wi definitely be returning.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Super Helpful staff for both dinner and breakfast. Lovely
big breakfast and a fair price for the night.Bath water a bit
chilly but it was a cold night, again the staff counters any
bits of the hotel that sould be better.
- Trevor (10/5): Would go again. - Clean, decorated room and friendly staff. Comfortable bed.
Fabulous breakfast, but would have liked to have been told about fruit, toast, yoghurt and fruit juice around the corner!
- Richard (8/5): - Lovely country pub and restaurant with accommodation. The room was very comfy and clean, but a little tired. Excellent value for money.
- peter (10/5): Giod vakue for money - Great breakfast and a good room, lovely friendly staff. The rooms are getting a bit tired and some need to sort out the conifers by the doors as the tubs are shot, but apart from these minor niggles a great place to stay.
- Chris (10/5): - Fantastic food beautiful place and extremely helpful staff
- Steven (10/5): - Easy booking process. Staff courteous and professional. Nice old pub with good facilities. Only stayed one night but experience was good. Early morning breakfast was adequate and speedy service. Would highly recommend.
- Guy (10/5): Great value. Nice hotel. - Surprisingly good. Nice restaurant. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Will stay again
- Nigel (10/5): - Lovely accommodation and pub, great location.very friendly staff. Excellent evening meal and breakfast.
- Hugh (10/5): - Nice hotel and bar area. Conveniently located for an overnight stay.
Good menu for an evening meal with draught ales on the bar.
Breakfast included cooked breakfast available to order.
- Robin (8/5): - Clean and tidy whilst the bathroom could do with a little attention but clean. Couldn’t open the bedroom window and it was very hot during the night.
- Christopher (6/5): - Looks OK from the outside and is conveniently placed for visiting Blenheim. Unfortunately the place needs some attention. We were a party of 6 and all had the same rooms which had a seating area and bathroom on the ground floor and a bed upstairs. As you had to negotiate the stairs in the middle of the night there was a very bright green warning sign which lit up the whole room. The bedside cabinet was missing a handle so the drawer could not be used. There was no TV in the downstairs sitting area although my friends in the other rooms both had TV's downstairs. The shampoo and shower gel fell off the wall, luckily it did not cause any injury. The bathroom was very shabby and very dated. There was no towel rail near the sink so we had to leave it on the top of the toilet, there is a heated towel rail but it is not close to the sink or the bath. As the rooms are not cleaned unless you request it we ran out of loo roll and had to go in search of someone to get it replaced. The restaurant was not much better. Even though the reception were aware that we were a party of 6 that did not have a table for us at breakfast. Breakfast was quite good with a selection of items that are cooked to order. We ate in the restaurant on our 2nd evening and the food was reasonable. We asked the waitress if she could reserve a table for us for breakfast the next morning yet when we arrived we again let down as they had not reserved us a table. Seems a total lack of communication between the staff.
- Penny (10/5): - All round a very l nice experience
- Christopher (10/5): - Lovely pub/hotel. Very nice food and drink offering. Good accomodation in seperate building to the pub. Great location in pretty village
- Laura (6/5): - Located in a lovely quiet village. The food was lovely & accommodation was quiet & safe. Staff not overly friendly & we stayed a few nights.
- Lisa (10/5): Lovely hotel. Amazing breakfast - Lovely big room, comfortable bed. Lovely helpful staff and an amazing breakfast!!
- Hannah (8/5): - Really friendly staff and gorgeous breakfast - rooms just let it down really, dated and in need of a bathroom refurb. Good value for one night.
- Brian (10/5): - Property tired but clean where it needed to be..The staff from start to finish superb..
Quality and variety off meals very good indeed..
Property set in a lovely village and inter within beautiful countryside.. We will return to Deddington.. A very positive experience.. Thank you to all the staff..
- David (8/5): Good stop off going South. - Great drop off place in a beautiful, historical village. Accomodation good a little worn and a few cobwebs, overall good . Had evening meal in pub restaurant very nice space, food a little over complected and not particularly tasty. However breakfast was very good.
- Margaret (8/5): - Lovely historic setting
- Susan (8/5): - The room was very tired, mould around the bath tub, and the toilet roll holder fell apart. The wood surround at the back of the bed creaked with every move. However, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent!
- Ominu (10/5): - A very quiet place to stay for a weekend away
- Nigel (10/5): - Stayed before, lovely staff, good food and convenient location for many areas
- David (10/5): - Friendly staff and located in a lovely village
- John (8/5): - Lovely stay and great food
- emma (4/5): - The only good thing was the bedding was clean
- David (10/5): - .
- jon (10/5): - On arrival we found that the hotel was actually bigger than we expected,
Reception was closed due to our late arrival but the staff on the bar welcomed us in and gave us our room keys/cards.
The rooms weren't as expected either, we expected a standard hotel room but instead we got a wonderful annex room at the rear of the venue with our own private access and staircase.
The overall experience of staying in the hotel was brilliant from the pleasant staff to the wonderful breakfast and waiting staff.
In all we'd stay again but unfortunately the 5 hour drive restricts is.
- Amanda (6/5): - It was really good to stay here just bit dated and the mattress was stupidly hard but the breakfast was amazing so good and bad overall good
- Brian (10/5): - Nice and quiet room was lovely apart from the shower I found it quite hard to get it to the temperature which is the only reason I've put 4 stars and not 5. Friendly staff and made you feel very welcome would highly appreciate
- Jennifer (8/5): - We stayed one night as my partner had to be at hospital for an early morning appointment. The staff were just very caring and friendly and let me stay in the room a little longer whilst waiting for a call to pick my partner up after his procedure .
Breakfast was very good .
- stewart (10/5): - The Deddington Arms is a lovely place to stay in a beautiful village.. The staff were all excellent, the food was very good and the room was good too. The only two things that affected the stay were the toilet not functioning properly and the lack of mobile signal, even on the hotel WiFi.
- Kate (10/5): Great find - Lovely hotel / pub in the lovely village of Deddington. Room was very spacious and comfortable.
Good choice of food in the restaurant, great quality and generous portions.
- Ruth (10/5): - Lovely hotel in a beautiful area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. I would stay again.
- Anoop (10/5): - Amazing staff who knew how to smile.
- Sarah (10/5): - Great one night stay en route to Silverstone.
Staff were responsive when I messaged with a query ahead of the stay, and super friendly and polite when there.
The room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped, lots of free parking and great individual freshly cooked breakfast options in the morning.
Will definitely return!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good, friendly small hotel - Rooms were all spotless and a good size with cupboards for clothes. Staff all very friendly and service was excellent. Very good breakfast
- Spencer (10/5): Great stay with some issues - Overall the stay was good .
Reception had closed by our arrival which was 3pm so couldnt pay for the room until next day snd that was a hasdle trying to find soneone to take payment .
Unfortunetly the bed was too hard for us but thats personsl preforance and not the hotels fault .
Breakfast was brilliant
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful setting and exceptional food. - The location in a beautiful village setting wax wonderful. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Food was exceptional, more like a gastro pub! Room was a little tired, matress could have done with an update.
- Samantha (10/5): - Great overnight stay for silverstone.
- Graham (8/5): A gem - Great room (studio). Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Super location
- Elaine (8/5): Lovely country pub. - A pleasant stay in a nice country pub. Food was lovely. Drinks a bit pricey and 12.5% added to bill if you open a tab ( even for drinks) which you go up to the bar for yourself. I did not think this was very fair so asked to remove it.
Enjoyed my stay and beds were lovely snd comfy.
- Derek (10/5): - First class Hotel
- Clare (8/5): - Very comfortable stay for one night. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Staff all very friendly and helpful.
- Simon (6/5): - Very helpful and welcoming staff, lovely breakfast included but the property is somewhat 'tired' particularly in some of the rooms
- Robert (10/5): Lovely and quiet - Lovely place, with super-helpful staff and lots of character.
- Barbara (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Very pleasant stay. We had booked a standard room so we were not surprised it was fairly basic, but it was clean and comfortable.
Evening meal in the restaurant was excellent and all the staff very helpful and friendly
- Angela (10/5): - Lovely property, very unusual and well laid out. Breakfast was excellent
- Chris (8/5): - Comfortable room, good breakfast choice, great staff.
- Sue (10/5): - Lovely location , friendly staff in a beautiful village. Would love to go back and spend a few days there.
- JOHN (6/5): - Room was dated and it definitely needs a new mattress for the bed, breakfast was as good as what we have had for the last two days in a 4 star hotel
- Adrianna (8/5): Soho Farmhouse overnight stay - Perfect location when wanting to utilise soho farmhouse. Even though the rooms are super outdated in terms of the design, hairdryer and iron, they are very spacious and provide a good nights rest - the bath is a plus also!
We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of choice at breakfast, better than some hotel chains.. however the omelette was grey and questionable. Will definitely be staying again!
- David (10/5): convenient stop over - Great country pub close to our friends and we have stopped here on a number of occasions and will do so again
- Kenneth (6/5): - The heating did not work in our first room. In the second room the toilet did not flush adequately and we had to fill the waste bin with water to flush the toilet. That's not good enough.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was a little dusty but was very comfortable and otherwise clean. Bed was good. Staff were helpful. pleasant place to spend a night or two.
- Ben (10/5): - Great location and good food. Staff were friendly and helpful
- Carolyn (10/5): Perfect little hideaway in the Oxfordshire country - Such wonderful people. So kind letting us stay a little later to get ready for a memorial, the room was excellent, good size and plant of hot water in the shower. A little dated but I’m ok with that as felt ‘Rustic’
The included breakfast was Outstanding. Perfectly cooked and delicious.
Will definitely stay here again.
- timmy (4/5): - Very tired old suite with an awkward tub shower. Very poor wifi - most of the time non-existent actually.
- Michelle (8/5): Nice place as a stop over - Pleasant clean room. Pretty place. Soap dispensers all empty at sink and shower. Didnt sleep well. Bed was a little hard for us but guess thats personal preference.
Check in was adequate if abrupt. Breakfast and staff at checkout were lovely.
For what we paid a nice place to spend a night or 2.
- Daniel (10/5): Great one night stay - Great little hotel to stay for the night, quick and pleasant check in, great, clean and comfortable room! Was fairly busy upon arrival, just managed to get a parking space in the car park (17.00), would definitely consider staying again in the future
- Adrian (10/5): Great place to stay - Extremely warm welcome. Excellent breakfast. Room really comfortable. Bathroom could have a done with a little attention. I will definitely stay again if I’m in the are.
- Jillian (8/5): Comortable stay in quiet village setting near Cotswolds - Room was comfortable and there was adequate storage for clothes. I would have given 5 stars if there was somewhere to hang hand towels in the sink area and for bath towels in main bathroom there was only a small very towel rail or a hook on the back of the door. The grouting and sealant around our bath was very black and needed a clean. Otherwise we enjoyed a very nice breakfast each morning and had a good stay. Parking was good. Deddington is central to many places to visit.
- Elaine (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly. Breakfast & evening meal was excellent. The only fault was our wash basin was out of our bathroom. Thought it was unhygienic touching the door handle before washing our hands.
- annie (10/5): - Old fashioned charm with modern touches
- John (10/5): - Very comfortable beautiful property,excellent staff.
Food is excellent. Very good atmosphere
- Steven (8/5): Deddington Arms - Toilet bowl in room 26 broken but still usable. Rust in bath and shower only fully usable if you are under 5ft in height. Breakfast a wide variety of choice and good quality. However the breakfast team could have been a little more attentive, for example having to go and ask for more coffee rather than be offered.
- Richard (6/5): - No soap in the bath dispenser and mould/dirt the the tiling grouting local to the bath.
- Rod (8/5): Weekend away - Room clean and comfortable.
Included breakfast and service excellent.
Bathroom tiling needs upgrading.
No option to stop towels being changed every day.
- Joy (8/5): - Had a lovely two night stay at Deddington Arms. Would definitely recommend
- Lesley. (4/5): - I booked this hotel as had a party to attend in nxt village this hotel was appealing as the restaurant had good views but unfortunately it was closed until 6pm which was no good for us we checked in and went to look at our room it was very tired basin and mirror hadn’t been properly cleaned and shower was full of mould this completely put me off went to look for food fortunately we didn’t unpack our clothes and found another hotel so didn’t go back what a waste of £100
- Jonathan (10/5): - In the heart of Deddington a very reasonably priced stay. Enjoyed the evening meal in the Restaurant. I would stay again.
- Alan (8/5): - We last stayed at the DA about 12 years ago and it's still a decent place to stay with nice food and a good choice of ales.
The room we had was fine although it's a little tired and needs some TLC.
Overall, we'd stay again.
- Rodney (8/5): Comfortable enough - Good food and service at breakfast.
Beds comfortable and slept well. But rooms starting to look a bit tired, needs some TLC - broken blind in bathroom, black grout around bath, unable to open window.
There's a hair dryer on the wall with a sign saying 'do not use' - how about removing the hair dryer and notice?!
