Guest Reviews
- nyagaw2025 (10/5): Best place to stay in Moshi - East Point Hotel has excellent room service. Ony one call away.
The staff members are always ready to cater to your every need 24/7.
Owner is very welcoming.
The rooms have nice air conditioning
The food is delicious. Gives you a feeling of the natural spices
- Rolands (2/5): - Tv stop working as nobody was paying for tv programmes. I was complaining but nothing was done.
- Kamutony (10/5): Best view of Moshi town - The EastPoint hotel Moshi with best view of moshi on the rooftop, I stayed there was comfort bed.The satff were really good and the food was amazing realy good.
The Rooftop was wow good view of Moshi.
- Kamutony (10/5): Best accommodation I had in Moshi. - I real enjoy staying in this hotel close to everything in town.
The bed was very comfortable with best view of Mount Kilimanjaro Mountain.
The glass elevator and very clean service, I enjoy the movie night
- GabrielaZ65 (8/5): Perfect for after Kili hike or if you need hotel close to bus station - I booked this hotel from my Emirates miles and wasn't sure what to expect but was very nicely surprised. Ok, it's not a luxurious hotel but the rooms are spacious and clean with a little balcony, beds are comfortable and the staff is beyond friendly and attentive.
When I arrived from my Kili hike, I just wanted to take a hot shower but the electricity was down in the street so the staff heated a bucket of water for me to wash. It was soo nice. Luckily later the electricity came back so didn't have to sit around in the dark. Only the heater for the hot shower is set for luke warm and because it's very high at the ceiling you cannot change it so the water is not really hot.
The breakfast is plenty with an egg, pancake, fruit, toast bread and tea or coffee.
The view from the rooftop terrace is worth a visit, they offer a restaurant/bar service there even though it's not an official restaurant there. The hotel has an elevator.
There is a market in the area if you need anything... very lively area. Generally I considered it a safe area. The moto taxi to the bus station costs about 2.000 Tsh.
- Hossy_Nyingi1 (10/5): Best place in Moshi town - We were looking for two days accomodation in a comfortable place and the taxi guy recommended East point. We enjoyed every minute of our stay due easy access of facilities with an elevetor and a very beautiful view of the Mount Kilimanjaro from the hotel rooftop. I definately recommend a place.
- Julie (8/5): One night - okay - Only stayed for one night. The bed was too short and hard.
The aircon was okay, but the placement was bad. (right next to the bed)
Staff was nice and very flexible opening hours. Very okay experience.
- RALPH RAFAEL (10/5): A Great Hotel that I will recommend to everyone. - The Hotel is VERY clean - The Staff is VERY friendly - The Manager Boaz is super professional, and the food in their restaurant is so good, I asked the chefs how I could learn and try to make their dishes at home... I highly recommend this Hotel. It is in the middle of Downtown Moshi, close to everything - Stay here - You will LOVE IT.
- eastpoint1 (10/5): Best view of Moshi town and mount kilimanjaro - EastPoint Hotel Moshi is close to everything best view of Mount Kilimanjaro and Moshi town center.
EastPoint Hotel Moshi their beds are very comfortable with balcony to see the mountain.
The beds are so clean and relaxing to sleep on.
- 733naqiyaha (2/5): Highly unsatisfactory - I went with my family including old parents and small children, they cancelled my booking without informing me. That was so bad!! I wouldnt recommend this hotel at all. Especially tourists, if you come here and suddenly you’re being told that your booking is cancelled, what a state of shock is that! Please do not make your bookings with this hotel, they might let you down at the last minute. I booked with a lady called yasinta and my booking was cancelled by someone called bariki whom i never even spoke with!
- gorant285 (10/5): Best place in Moshi - The best hotel in Moshi with great staff, great service, delicious food, clean and beautiful rooms and nice views from roof top terrace. The hotel is located in the city center and everything is near.
I recommend this hotel to everyone.
- Brian (10/5): Clean and friendly - Super friendly staff and extremely clean hotel. Breakfast is simple but made to order and the coffee is excellent. Right in the middle of moshi and not outrageous as some of the hotels in the area.
- Andyjames0711 (8/5): Good base to prepare for Kili - The best part of this place are the staff. They are very friendly and always offering to help. The hotel is close to the centre of town, the rooms are clean, the wifi is decent and the rooftop area is a great place to relax and an even better place to watch Kili from on a clear day
- thomasnS669BL (10/5): dream vacation hotel - wooow this the best place have been in a very very long time,i loved the staff, hygiene, the quality of the services, from the reception, the porters to the room steward, restaurant they were all awesome,
great place to be, keep it up,
- W8820TJjohnnyb (10/5): Best hotel in Moshi town - This is the best hotel in Moshi. Clean safe and with a great roof top terrace where you can dine with a great view of Moshi town.
Also great service by hotel management and employees.
Great starting point for the Kilimanjaro climb
- 571haris (10/5): Great Hospitality and Excellent Value for Money - It was a world of difference when I checked out from Zebra hotel (due to rude staff and horrible rooms) and checked into East Point. Great People who know the hospitality business. You can expect many extra miles from them. Good, big and clean rooms and way above the value for a budget room. I recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Moshi. Please book in advance.
- AbdiK (10/5): Beautiful place you can enjoy. - Wow I like the way Tilapia fish was cooked and served, i enjoyed fresh fish from East point hotel Keep it up,service, cleanliness of the rooms was excellent and hot shower were just what I needed to start with. The lovely East point hotel is in the central of Moshi town .The view of moshi town and mountain kilimanjaro is awesome. The ATMs and bus station is not far from the hotel it won't take you more than 10minutes walking.I recommend the other Travelers to stop there for Food, accommodation and other facilities with their families.
- JohariOtti (8/5): Great, friendly service. Comfort and Hosptality in Moshi. - Great and comfortable place to stay in Moshi.
Located on Swahili street opposite Shukrani eatery.
This part of town is called Shantytown but it is quiet affluent by Tanzanian city standards. It is definitely NOT a shanty town. Travelled with wife and arrived late without a booking. We had planned to check a few options and had seen EastPoint amongst the highly recommended hidden gems. Almost missed the place but a quick check online and the number listed actually went through and was picked after only one ring! Direction was easy after being guided...we were new in town.
Check-in was smooth and hassle-free. One thing I liked is that Moshi hotels charged us the East Africa Residents rate and unlike most places in Zanzibar did not treat EAC citizens as foreigners. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable with mosquito nets and large windows affording a 180 degrees unobstructed view of Moshi town and ...the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro peaks! They also have balconies where I loved spending mornings watching street life below and taking high resolution photos of the mountain.
Breakfast was prompt and deliciously made. The kitchen staff got our specifications correctly.
Wifi is fast and reliable on every floor.
The owners have invested in good power backup ( very important in Tanzania where lengthy power cuts are the order of the day). Fan and AC working Ok, hot/cold water at the right pressure. They are also investing on a lift. We chose the top floor (4th) so as to have sweeping views of town and mountains...and a reason to exercise.
The street is quiet safe at night. We were guided accordingly on where to go for dinner, sports bar etc. The staff are really excellent and friendly, and enthusiastic about their jobs, and seem to be quiet well trained. We also met the manager who was quiet attentive, friendly and followed up keenly to check how our stay was.
It's important to note that Moshi residents celebrate their Christmas and New Year a little bit more exuberantly. I was a bit concerned on Dec 31st with the noise and fireworks endlessly going on in the street but was assured when to return back and watch from the rooftop.
Next day and night the street was quiet, safe and easy to walk to town during the day and early night.
The place is new and well-run.
Hmm...for the price I really don't see where to deduct marks. Once they get their rooftop lounge operational then it will be the place to beat. It's already quite well done with comfortable lounge chairs and dstv. Maybe add a gym.
Stayed Dec 31-2nd Jan
- 996annee (10/5): This hotel is a winner! - A new hotel. This hotel has impeccable service with the friendliest of staff! The room was attractive, immaculate and very comfortable. I was traveling by myself and got given lots of help and information with a smile - starting with being picked up from my bus! I enjoyed my two night stay and would recommend for value for money!
- IvanBraunDK (8/5): Great new fresh hotel with super friendly staff - This is the second time I use this hotel, and its a fantastic hotel.
Its brand new, the rooms are clean and fresh, but the best part is the friendly and customer orientated staff.
Its located in a quiet area of town (close to a Mosque) and down town is within walking distance.
- ryankoh84 (10/5): Best deal in town - It was a last minute decision to stay at Easy Point. I was not expecting anything more than a basic hotel but it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. The hotel is very new, comfortable and clean. Hotel staffs were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. A big thumbs up for Easypoint!
- M_Pindolia (8/5): Kili climb return base - New hotel with great service and great food and clean rooms. The management and staff were very helpful after our Kili climb here. My husband and I are vegetarian and the chef was great with preparing our meals . This hotel was provided to us by our tour company Zara tours.
- Thetravel_buff (8/5): 5 Stars For Service ! - We were going into Moshi for the Kilimanjaro Marathon – and the hotel we had initially booked, closed for renovation. Most hotels that popped up on google were already full as well.
A friend – on foot – unearthed East Point Hotel. Relatively new and will not come up on most search engines. It’s in town along Swahili street - so fairly quiet. And you can walk to Nakumatt and a couple of coffee shops / restaurants ( when it’s not too hot !)
1.Rooms
Pretty good ! See pictures. Rooms higher up have a great view of the town but you have to labour up the stairs for those. Elevator is in the pipeline. Your room will have a TV with a fair amount / variety of channels, AC, fan and hot shower. Toiletries are also provided.
2.Food
Chef gets a huge thumbs up! When I arrived I ordered something that was not in the menu – one hour later it was ready and spot on. And he would always do a follow up to check how the meal was. They also call you to find out what time you wanted your meal - and they kept time.
3.Service
This in my opinion is what sells them. Personalized ! From front office to house keeping to waiter service. If I even looked like I needed something – someone would appear !
They were gracious enough to extend late check out to our group as most of us expected to finish running way past check out time. They even served our breakfast as and when we arrived from the race. And the last group came back way past noon.
And they have FREE Wifi - two word every traveler wants to hear :-)
Good job so far and good luck :-)
- AnnMuc12 (10/5): A place like no other at Moshi - Kilimanjaro - Stayed here for 2 days and had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable with AC, high definition LCD tv, wireless internet and breakfast good. I will be back Insh Allah...."
I would especially like to thank Khalifa for his nice surprise which made my stay extra special.
Thank you to everyone at the East Point Hotel
