- Donald (8/5): Comfy Craftsman - We stayed in the Craftsman Cottage ground floor. Easy access, comfortable bed, comfortable living area, full kitchen, washer/dryer. A/C worked great and easy to adjust. Onsite parking lot. Bathroom was spacious but it has a whirlpool tub with rain shower over the middle. The tub was hard to get in and out of. Would have been nice to have some Kleenex. TV remote didn't work from the chair or couch. Had to stand close to the TV, maybe it just needs new batteries.
- Guest (10/5): The pictures don't do justice. It was amazingly decorated and SUPER clean. The staff was incredibly helpful. - The property is conveniently located near fast foods and restaurants. Also being within the Sanford's historic district makes it inviting for a nice walk. I took advantage of the restaurant on property. The food and the mimosas were delicious.

- Alice (7/5): Cute but I don’t like the check in requirements. They need a new bed. - Very cute spot near town. The bed was very uncomfortable. They really need to replace it. I also did not like that I was required to submit photos of my drivers license through a 3rd party app and then take a selfie. The staff are remote, so this is how they do it, but I wouldn’t stay here again due to this.

- Robert (6/5): You get what you pay for. - Beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. Run down and in need of an update. (See pictures) Windows were filthy. Outside furniture unusable. And the door to the deck was open when we arrived, which allowed flying insects to enter the apartment.

- Rebecca (10/5): - This was my first visit, and I selected it for its price and location to the airport. Upon arriving, I discovered this charming place in the midst of a lovely neighborhood. I felt safe and comfortable. The room fit my love for antiques and I love purple. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to friends. The fact that there was no food offered on Sunday evening was the only downfall for me.

- Strange (10/5): - I booked this room last minute after a flight cancellation. I didn't have any expectations but this inn was the best one I've ever stayed in. Extremely clean and cozy. The shower was exceptional and I loved the furnishings. Check in and out was super easy. The bed was extremely comfortable.

- Altaira (10/5): Very nice but needs to be checked for mold - Very charming style, kitchen had everything I needed to cook including cooking oil and salt and pepper. I appreciated the tea kettle and used it daily. Bed was comfortable, great jacuzzi bath tub, and property included a washer and dryer which I used for the towels since I ended up staying for 3 nights. It was old and smelled a little musty and by the 3rd night I had an upper respiratory infection so I think someone should check the place for mold spores.

Expedia does not make it clear that the property charges half a month before your arrival and the other half the day before. I think the price is a little steep but location is great for historic Sanford.

- Robert (8/5): A weekend in Sanford - My wife and I spent a long weekend at Park Place Inn Chef's Suite. The upfront communication was excellent, especially how to enter the code. There is no front desk for the inn, but I texted with the owners during the stay. According to what I read, I thought we were going to have daily housekeeping, but that was not the case. My only concern there was I was confused re asking for towels, etc. If I missed that, then that's on me. Our suite was comfortable. It is an eclectic combination of antiques and modern appliances/amenities. I will note that the furnishings in the sitting area do not match the pictures on the website. I will also note that the flooring in the shower is uncomfortable for the feet. Please note there is a restaurant on site. While did not take advantage of it, some would consider that a plus. We did not . We could hear conversations, some quite loud, outside our door. The main issue we had relates to parking. Twice when we came back to the room while lunch/brunch was still being served, all the parking was taken. Getting back out of the small parking lot was tricky. What irritated me the most was a Lexus backed in the lot taking up two spots, with engine running. I will say here that if the restaurant grows in popularity, this may cause more parking issues for your inn guests. We did enjoy being able to stay in Sanford's historic district. It gave us more time to enjoy what downtown Sanford has to offer.

- Joe (8/5): We will be back. First time stay in Sanford and it's a very nice town and atmosphere. - Cozy & casually comfortable. Full size refrigerator and nicely appointed kitchen for cooking (which we didn't do because of the short stay, but we will consider next time around) Monday morning road noise was a bit on the heavy side. Bearable but noticeably loud. Rooms need more drawers and electrical outlets were sparse. It's an old home so outlets were located in the baseboards.

We were there for a wedding by this location. Shade in bedroom needs replacement. Sofa had a rip and some stains. Bathroom was tiny had to enter sideways . Second floor a little challenging to bring suitcase up the stairs. We are seniors. Had all the amenities we needed to make the stay convenient

- sara (6/5): Convenient for Porchfest - This is more of a b-and-b than a hotel with a shabby chic vibe. We had what amounted to an apartment with two separate bedrooms. It was extremely convenient to Porchfest but we never ran into anyone who was running the hotel; there really isn't any service to speak of. That being said, it was clean. Great choice if you want to be close to downtown Sanford but don't expect too much.

- Robert (8/5): Get a quality mattress - We stayed in Chefs Cottage. The entry keypad was not obvious but fortunately someone answered the phone #. The rooms were pleasing & great location within walking distance of venues & restaurants. We could have used bedside tables by the bed and reading lamps. My review of the mattress, however, will be brutal! I never slept so poorly on such a poor mattress. If this could be fixed, I would have loved and overlooked any of the above! I think I saw a poor review about the mattress quality here?! Not sure if it was the same cottage.

From beautiful vines and plants, to vintage-chic decor, to comfortable beds and nice amenities, this place had it all for a relaxing weekend getaway. We parked our car and the rode our cruiser bikes downtown. The location was perfect to bike into the historic district for drinks and dinner in the evening, and to ride out for coffee and breakfast in the morning. The bathroom had a gorgeous mosaic tiled walk-in shower with great water pressure and lots of hot water. The host was very quick to respond to any questions. We will absolutely stay here again! What a great find! If you are looking for a modern hotel experience with a bar and restaurant, this is not the place for you. They did not offer any meals while we were there, although they do have a restaurant with a menu that looks amazing. But if you want to relax and get away, check them out!

- Victoria (10/5): Modern Living in the Past - We love staying in this 1930s bunaaglow filled with antiques. The kitchen is pretty much stocked and fully equipped. Bathroom has a jacuzzi bathtub which was great. We enjoyed our walks through the neighborhood showcasing Victorian homes. Sanford at the lakefront is filled with great restaurants and breweries. A wonderful getaway for sure. Highly recommended

While they offered coffee and a machine there were no accompanying cream/sugar, only a crumpled used sugar packet in a bowl. Upon closing our drapes there was a sizable section with torn attachments to the drape pole. All of the outdoor sitting areas were quite dirty and appeared as if no one has touched them in quite a while. Our boutique experience was less than our expectations.

We appreciated that it was close to the historic district & the airport. The bathtub bottom was slick & needs a rubber mat for safety. Plumber required to fix the faucet in the tub. Need a step stool to climb up into the high bed in one room, & there were no dish towels to dry dishes. We didn't find any bottled water to make coffee.

- Paula (2/5): Bait and switch - The place was not as described and pictured on website. The floor was filthy, there wasn’t a comfortable piece of furniture to sit on. The bed was old, saggy and smelly and the couch was worse. It was billed as a chef’s cottage but there wasn’t even a pot holder nor a salad bowl, (stuff easily gotten at dollar store. The outside dining area was surrounded by all the junk from the property. And yet I got instructions to make sure I used only the black washcloth to remove my makeup. Never have I ever stayed in such an ugly and uncomfortable place.

- Roger (8/5): Review - The room was really nice. Trying to get the air conditioner to stay on was difficult. It rained and I don’t know if a window leaked but there was water all over the floor. And there wasn’t any towels for us to be able to take a shower.
- Leonard (3/5): Uncomfortable - Location The property exterior was not attractive. The outside patio tables and chairs on all units were covered with leaves and dirt. The room had a musty smell, there was no comfortable chairs in the room, the couch looked and felt like it was picked up at curbside, there was no coffee mugs, only tiny tea cups, the mattress was fair. We booked the room for two nights and absolutely could not stay another night. We checked out before 11 on our second paid for day. The host offered another room but we could not stay another minute in this uncomfortable venue. The SHOWER was terrific. There was no area in the bathroom to put your toiletries.

It’s in a historic area and close to a really nice small downtown with lots of places to shop, eat/ drink. And great water walking! I’d like to come back for a longer stay. Great place for a girls weekend- many little private rooms :)
- Betty (5/5): Some good things some not so good. They are trying to get a restaurant going on the premises . - Rooms very large- full kitchen, laundry room, large bath, bedroom with king bed. A good value for the price. The location is very noisy on a corner of two busy streets. There is no one on premise to help if assisted is needed. I thought it was a bed and breakfast but no breakfast is provided. The Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom makes it very difficult to take a shower. There were no housekeeping services provided, and we were there for three days.
