Guest Reviews
- Cherie (8/5): - budget accommodation over all clean and convenient for my purpose
- Kerrymaree (6/5): - Very run down, very disappointing. The Irish girl was lovely.
- Shannon (6/5): - X
- Rodney (2/5): - Liked nothing about it . Didn't stay there in the end.
- John (8/5): - staff fantastic
- Karen (2/5): - The advertising photos showed pool, green lawn. Stated restaurant and bar, not the fact they were somewhere else. The bathroom was so dirty and moldy I didn't even use it and we checked out early and went elsewhere. There obviously isn't any insulation as it was freezing and there were no blankets on the bed. Then I found a blanket in the top of the cupboard but it was dusty and immediately caused my husband to have an asthma attack. Our worst experience ever.
- Noel (2/5): - Single toilet single shower for all , the noise from people walking to and from unbearable
- Nicholas (2/5): - This place is a set of small rooms with no staff around. It is very noisy as the rooms have thin walls. All amenities are external and in very bad condition , especially bathrooms. People smoke outside rooms and that smoke comes in the windows. It might be half price but it’s not worth even that
- Geoff (10/5): - Great place
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Birds.Kool price
- Robert (8/5): - Comfortable Facilities spread Poor kitchen Far from town centre
- Davin (4/5): - The Aircon was good and the beds were comfortable.
The room wasn't very clean, neither were the bathrooms
- Robyn (2/5): - Turned out to be dongas with shared bathroom facilities, which we did not want, so we upgraded booking to another property owned by same group.
- Robyn (4/5): - Turned out to be dongas with shared bathroom facilities, which we did not want, so we upgraded booking to another property owned by same group, which they made very easy.
- Louise (2/5): - It was very low budget style room with no ensuite. I did not stay, instead, I upgraded to a motel room at neighbouring motel.
- David (6/5): - The property was perfect for my needs which was a place to stay while i was travelling from QLD back to the Northern Territory. The room was clean and had basic essentials, comfortable bed, aircon and a fridge. The shared toilets and bathrooms were clean and i had no issues in accessing them. If you are comfortable with camp type accommodation this property is great value for money.
- Peter (4/5): - No decent TV coverage. Couldn’t even watch the footy
- Carol (4/5): - Could’ve had Free Wi-Fi connected to the place
- Narelle (6/5): - Good value for money
- Matthew (6/5): - Bit to far out of town
- Ronald (4/5): - Could do with a damned good scrub
- Bruce (2/5): - The property was very basic. There were no toilets or showers inside the room and you had to walk along a long veranda that had brakes boards. It was cold I didn’t feel safe.
- Brett (2/5): - Photos on the site are misleading. Very basic accommodation couldn’t get the reverse cycle to work. Camp kitchen set up and shared bathrooms were not great.
- Carmel (10/5): Clean and comfy - Outback Adventure is part of a large complex including the Albert Park Motor Inn, with a common reception. We stayed one night in ea ch. the Outback section has rooms with shared bathrooms. Our bathroom was in a nearby building. It was clean but with few amenities. EG there was an electric jug available only in the camp kitchen. Bathrooms were very basic but had plenty of soap and were clean.
- Garry (8/5): - It’s good donga setup
- Eva (6/5): - Not being able to boil the kettle inside the room was a bit of a pain - not being able to have a cuppa in bed. Need some direction on how to turn on the aircon. I had left a message on the provided number & email. Eventually asked another lady who was staying there and she told me about the 2 switches.
- Maki (2/5): - I didn't stay the property.
Because before checked in i walk around inspect. It was not acceptable as paid accommodation.
Price and condition of the property is over price.
It is work man's accommodation.
- Dianne (6/5): - Showers & hand basins were all filthy. Door on shower/toilet wouldn’t lock. One toilet had a whole roll of toilet paper in the bowl. Workers were told but it was still there the next day. Toilets/showers too far from rooms. No lighting at night time. Should be censor lights on path to toilet. No microwave in room.
- Rosanna (10/5): - Didn’t stay at. Adventure outback adventure s got an another amazing room instead
- Jeffrey (10/5): - The rooms are spacious.
- Janice (6/5): - Very very basic, shared facilities were very average.
- Brett (2/5): - Didn't like anything the camp kitchen was absolutely filthy
- Donald (2/5): - Outback stay like A noisy place of Back packers ,a permanent stayer playing Music to early Hours Morning ,Communal Kitchen and Showers not noted in Booking ,Not worth dollars plaid for Accomodation .If had known communal showers and toilet would not have booked . Not worth to stay .
- Rob (6/5): - The room and linen were tidy and clean. The Albert Park reception was helpful one we knew it was down the road.
The Bath and toilet facilities have not been cleaned properly and are a bloody mess...not there are no pictures of this or the camp kitchen area on the Web site. There is a reason for this. You can't cook there its cold and windy. There is not even a teaspoon. The positive is its cheep. But dont expect much ....the TV is small and so out it doent take a USB and reception is rubbish...go there to sleep and move on.
- Don and Margaret (8/5): - The staff are great and very helpful the property needs a lot of work very run down and very miss leading on internet .
- Karin (2/5): - We wanted two single beds for two older ladies. We could only get one queen bed. I knowother accomodatio was available but the keys were missing to other units. The cost of the room was outrageous for the condition of the unit and for shared ablution block. While staff were on site, the bathrooms were not maintained or cleaned daily. We were able to get ensuited accomodation for $95/ night for two single beds in many other locations. $70/night for two single beds with shared abultions. This was the most dissapointing accomodation in our two week outback experience. A very poor tourist experience for such a popular destination.
- Darren (2/5): - Property was filthy. This is basic backpacker accomodation and should be advertised as such. The picture on the Wotif page is misleading.
- Belinda (2/5): - Do not stay at this crap hole! Filthy dirty rooms and bathrooms even worse. Had to check in at hotel down the road, the man at reception couldnt care less, no customer service skills. Dodgy locks on our door, and no smoke alarms in the room. Only thing adventerous about this place was daring to sleep in the beds!
- John (10/5): 1 night - overnight only . Good enough for the money .
- DAVID (10/5): - Great for an overnight stay. Safe and quiet, friendly staff, clean room. Camp kitchen is good too👍
- Andrea (8/5): - After reading so many negative reviews, I did rethink my booking but decided to check it out anyway. Firstly - yes it's basic and there is the inconvenience of not having a bathroom within the room, but we knew that so no surprise going in. The room was on the small side but adequate for 2 people and their luggage. The rooms were freshly made up with clean linen and they were tidy and clean. The bathrooms which were located a short walk down an undercover walkway, were clean and stocked with fresh towels and plenty of toilet paper. The new built camp kitchen suited us fine for a coffee whilst watching the kangaroos. We were lucky enough to receive a complimentary drive across to the airport. For the price, I honestly think you could do much worse.
- Amanda (6/5): - This was budget accommodation but the bathrooms were a bit old and worn with one toilet not flushing.
- Richard (8/5): - I read lots of terrible reviews for Outback Adventures, but having stayed in many Mining camps before I retired I didn't think it would be that bad - and it wasn't!
The bed was very comfortable, and the sparse room was generous in size.
The smell many reviews complained about wasn't the room - it was Longreach - where the earth has a musky, earthy smell wherever you go! I just opened the windows and door when I arrived and the room was fine.
Mixing with other guests in the outdoor undercover kitchen area was fun.
Summary: cheap and cheerful.
- John (2/5): - No hot water and taps that continual ran.
- Gerard (4/5): - Should be demolished. An old mining camp that is outdated and stupidly expensive for a room with communal bathrooms that have lights missing and doors that don’t close properly. The tv antennae was loose and took a lot of adjusting to get a picture. When you moved off the bed the screen went haywire.
- Victor (4/5): - Rundown and grubby. No staff in attendance, no coffee or milk for three days. No facilities in rooms have to walk to end of complex. Very expensive for what you get. Old ex mining dongas the locals claim.
- John (4/5): - Couple of Dongers in a paddock
- Amelia (4/5): - I knew I was choosing the cheapest option (still not that cheap), I knew it was going to be basic and I knew it would be communal facilities but I still was not prepared for how basic it would be. The accommodation in this part of town is monopolised by one owner and check in for each of these 'different' sites all happens at one central site. This is outlined in the check in details which I missed. However my key was already in my room and with a phone call I could just walk into my room without having to go back to this central check in office thank goodness. The driveway was mud, I was offered a lift which I would have accepted if I had known this and it had been unseasonably rainy in Longreach so getting my luggage to my room without a car was strenuous. The rooms are portables divided into single rooms with an air con unit, a bed, a fridge and a TV. The shared facilities are like caravan bathrooms and were cleaned once in the four days I was there. The bedding was clean which I was grateful for but the complex overall had very basic cleaning attention paid to it. The 'kitchen' was a couple of stainless steel benches and an outdoor sink with a microwave and a rice cooker floating around (in the outdoor shelter). On my second afternoon of three housekeeping queried why I was still there because they had been given a list showing that my room would have been emptied and was to be cleaned. It was what I expected but over priced for what it is. Probably worth paying more.
- Laani (8/5): - Remote from town quiet washing machine free reasonably tidy good for people passing through for the night shower bed fridge tv in room handy and workers to stay here and there good cheap price
- Sunny (8/5): - We booked at longvaxk our back adventures and went the room. It didn’t feel clean , small in size n ugly . Found a dead millipede in the room.
Bathrooms looked filthy n there was kangaroo poo all over the ramp. Asked upgrade which was given to us by paying the upgrade fees.
The new room at Albert Park inn was clean and nice but full of bugs , insects, found one gecko baby too . It’s definitely outback hence no complaints, justFeedback .
We were happy with the stay . Thank you :)
- Bridget (6/5): - The staff were very nice. The air conditioning did not work. There were no signs for the check in for the site we were booked in to. 3 different areas all with different names but using the same reception . We weren't happy with the donga which we had apparently booked so were put into a self contained unit which cost extra. Not particularly good value.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bad beds shared facilitys too far away not what advertised much worse
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The whole stay for the money was a rip off. It nothing more than a back packer. No micro wave no plates no jug or toaster no cultery , smoke alarm in cuboard no batery. Toilets and shower poor door dont lock Kitchen dirty micro wave noisy will not stay there ever again would rather sleep in car
- Abigail (8/5): Helpful friendly staff - Clean. Helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It is a ripoff - poor quality backpackers accommodation charged out at 4 star prices. The toilet/ showers are located in a seperate building and very dirty - similar with cooking facilities.
On the plus side - the sheets were clean and the wifi worked
DON'T STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
Watif should take it off their books so that other travelers don't get caught like we did
BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD VALUE FOR MONEY
SLEEP IN YOUR CAR
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Beds are uncomfortable and rooms are over priced
- Ross (2/5): Do not stay here - This property should not be on your website. I have never stayed in a worse place. It is a cynical exercise by the owner of a nearby hotel to rent out worker’s dongas at inflated prices. It was both expensive and filthy, a long way from town and with limited amenities. There wasn’t even a rubbishy bin in the room. The TV did not pick up the local channels. It is a disgrace.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Only accomodation available it was a bed for the night so all good
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Like Army barracks, simple rooms with shared showers, toilet and kitchen
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Facilities very basic, surroundings bare earth; expensive but demand strong
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing whatsoever it absolutely disgusting for anyone to advertise this should be closed down…. Didn’t stay there had to find alternative stay where the staff were very helpful but double the price. Should not have this property on your website
