- Gavin (4/5): Good location but let down by a few details as resort is a little tired compared to the cost - The bed was very comfortable, the food was good and reasonably priced. Beach was safe for snorkelling with plenty of fish to swim with. The roof leaked, the sheets smelled I don’t know if they were clean. The footpath between reception and the bungalow was dangerous when wet and not recommended for older people. The room wasn’t sealed to stop all insects and a weed was growing inside.

- Astrid (1/5): Katastrophale Zimmer, schlechtes Essen und Frühstück - Die Lage des Hotels ist gut, aber das ist schon alles. Wir hatten einen Gartenbungalow für 2 Tage und sind nach der ersten Nacht abgereist. Es war im Zimmer muffig, nachts hat eine Maus im Dach des Bades geknabbert, die Decke hatte keinen Schonbezug und das Essen sowie Frühstück eine Katastrophe. Für so viel Geld gibt es viel bessere Hotels. Ich würde das niemandem empfehlen, vor allem keinen Gartenbungalow.

- Edich (10/5): Ein Traum! - Eine wirklich bezaubernde Lage mit wunderschönem Strand und Pool. Unsere Häuschen mit Meerausblick waren einfach nur ein Traum! Die Mitarbeiter sind alle mehr als freundlich und es herrscht eine sehr angenehme ruhige Atmosphäre, was das Inselleben noch mal mehr verschönert. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen. Der Resort ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, hat aber seinen eigenen Charme.
- David (7/5): Resort is in a fabulous setting but generally needs renovation. I don’t think we would stay here again. - Resort is on possibly the best beach on the island. The breakfast was good but we ate out at nearby restaurants- we only had one lunch here and it wasn’t good. The pool looks good and clean but we didn’t use it as the sea is fabulous. In general the resort is in need of updating and a lot of refurbishing. We had a sea view bungalow which was okay except the bathroom is subsiding and needs complete renovation.

- Malin (4/5): Riesige Enttäuschung (aber mit schönen Ausblick) - Die Lage mancher Bungalows ist atemberaubend schön! Wir hatten ein Bungalow direkt am Steg, konnten also direkt ins Wasser klettern über die Steine. Auch das Restaurant hat eine tolle Aussicht. Ein paar der Mitarbeitenden bemühen sich gute Laune zu versprühen und freundlich zu sein. Die Ansätze des Hotels gegen Foodwaste vorzugehen sind super. Das Hotel ist überhaupt nicht den Preis wert, den man für ein Bungalow bezahlt. Es ist eine Frechheit was man da für sein Geld bekommt. Die Bungalows sind so wahnsinnig in die Jahre gekommen. Die Sauberkeit des Badezimmers lässt absolut zu wünschen übrig. Die Badewanne sieht für Fotos der Website wahrscheinlich gut aus, aber man kann sie gar nicht benutzen, weil der Wasserstrahl so schwach ist. Außerdem ist im Raum keine Deko vorhanden, das heist es steht einfach eine Badewanne in einem leeren, schmutzigen Raum. Die einzigen Deko Gegenstände waren Haken mit italienischen Motiven drauf, nur leider waren keine Haken mehr daran vorzufinden und eins lag abgestürzt auf dem Boden. Die Dusche war so ekelig.. das Fliegengitter kaputt, die Fliesen schmutzig, die duschtür total verkalkt und schmutzig. Wenn wir für diese Unterkunft - wie in anderen thailändischen Hotels - um die 40-50€ pro Nacht bezahlt hätten, wäre das total in Ordnung gewesen. Dann schaut man darüber hinweg. Aber für fast 200€ die Nacht???!!!! Das ist nicht ok. Beim Frühstück war nichts gekühlt, es gibt keinerlei Milch Alternativen oder Joghurt Alternativen. In zwei völlig heruntergekommenen Wasserbecken werden Fische und Krebse gehalten, die aus dem Meer kommen. Das Becken ist total ekelig, stinkt und man muss nicht Groß darüber nachdenken, das es den Fischen da drinnen richtig schlecht geht.

- Gertrud (10/5): Definitiv eine Empfehlung! - Die gesamte Hotelanlage ist ein Idyll. Die Bungalows mit Meerblick in erster und zweiter Reihe toll. Die Bucht traumhaft. Insbesondere das Riff dort!. Fruestueck mit Blick auf Meer. Herrliche Sonnenuntergaenge. Der Muell in den hinteren Bereichen des Hotels. Wenn man keinen Roller mieten will, bleibt nur Taxi, da es keine öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel gibt. Geld sollte man besser vorher auf dem Festland tauschen. Auf Koh Kood nur wenige Möglichkeiten.

Pool was also very nice, but the biggest place of this recommendation is the beach and the view. Most of the stuff was very friendly and the kitchen was very good. Also, the Massage has offered at the property were very good. Small details like missing coherence between the different bungalows. Too many different designs.

- Sophie (2/5): Jammer - Locatie was top Het resort is sterk verouderd en maakt een rommelige indruk, met op meerdere plekken afval. De strandbedjes en ook de steiger zijn oud en voelen zelfs onveilig aan. Het personeel bij de receptie en in het restaurant was niet behulpzaam of vriendelijk. Wij kregen zogenaamd een upgrade, maar dat voelde eerder als een downgrade: in het huisje zaten grote kieren waardoor veel ongedierte naar binnen kwam. Ook liep het water in de badkamer niet naar het putje, waardoor de hele vloer blank stond en niet opdroogde. Verder waren er geen strandhandoeken en was er totaal geen begrip voor ons verzoek om iets eerder te ontbijten vanwege het ophalen.

- Marjorie (10/5): Super séjour - Alors là j’ai rien à redire ! Nous avons passées 2 nuits ici et on a eu un petit pincement au cœur de quitter cet endroit. L’hôtel est juste magnifique. La vue incroyable et la plage j’en parle même pas. Un peu loin de tout donc je recommande vivement la location d’un scooter. Personnellement nous n’avons pas bougées du resort, et pour se relaxer rien de mieux. Buffer à volonté pour le petit déjeuner, et le restaurant de l’hôtel était très bon !

Nous avons eu un bungalow qui était vraiment très mal situé limite nous avions l’impression d’être en dehors de l’hôtel avec le staff !! Nous avons demandé à changer et bien évidemment il a fallu payer un supplément ( presque le double ) un peu le sentiment que c’est une technique et de plus la personne a l’accueil n’est pas vraiment sympathique on a l’impression de la déranger constamment.

Restaurant super, on y mange très bien, tarifs raisonnables, petit déjeuner au top. La réception - restaurant - espaces transat et petit roof top pour boire une bière tout en surplombant la mer sont superbes! Le personnel est très agréable. Nous reviendrons ! Entretien des bungalows un peu juste surtout sur ceux du fond. Plus de chance d’être satisfaits en prenant les bungalows front de mer.. le reste est parfait et fait clairement oublier ce détail

Le lieu semble laissé à l’abandon ! - La plage n’est pas belle, c’est la moins belle que nous avons pu voir sur l’île. - Nous n’avions pas de terrasse privée. Nous la partagions avec un autre bungalow. - Les deux bungalow était un seul et même bungalow où nous pouvions absolument tout entendre. Aucune intimité possible ! - la lieu est dangereux (le bois craque et est à la limite de céder, pas de garde corps, des pointes dépassent de partout, il y a des morceaux de ferraille partout) - il n’y a aucune maintenance sur le site, c’est un camping à l’abandon. - les serviettes sont payantes ! Une honte pour un hôtel de plage possédant une piscine. - le personnel d’accueil et le responsable sont irrespectueux. Lorsque nous nous sommes plein que les 2 bungalows réservés n’étaient pas ce que nous avons eu. Il nous a simplement répondu « si vous n’êtes pas content partez ». - les prises électriques ne fonctionnent pas ou le bloc reste dans la main en débranchant. - il y a de la poussière partout, certains meubles possèdent encore le plastique de protection qui n’a jamais été déballé et rempli de saleté !

Restaurangen hade tråkig meny, små portioner. Solstolarna på stranden hade sett bättre dagar. Slitna, en del trasiga och väldigt smutsiga.

Équipement de chambre très succint : pas de lampe de chevets, 3 cintres et pas d'étagères à vêtements, barres rouillées. Salle de bain spacieuse mais rien pour suspendre les serviettes et pas d'éclairage au dessus du miroir. Fuite d'eau dans la douche et les WC. Sur la terrasse, des grands poufs délavés qui perdent leur garniture. Les logements ne sont pas entretenus, c'est dommage car le site est magnifique.

Pros: the most amazing private beach Comfy beds Sea is crystal clear Good breakfast buffet Manager of the restaurant, she is lovely. Cons: Not a lot of English spoken ( however I am aware we are in Thailand) Needs some basic maintenance ( some of the wood walkway is dangerously close to splitting ) Sunbeds on the beach need updating Very little atmosphere and everything closes at 9pm Rooms are only cleaned every other day which is not great considering cost and I would like the bins cleaned every day! Some of the bathroom facilities are old and need repair. There’s a lot of staff who appear not to be actively involved so could be used to proactively offer and serve drinks both on the beach and by the restaurant. Just these minor tweaks and I’d give it 5stars .

Bijzonder vriendelijk personeel, prachtige snorkel locatie met veel verschillende vissen. Prima ontbijt met ruime keus aan fruit . Het huisje heeft echt wat onderhoud nodig, de airco maakt veel lawaai, de deur klemt, het bed valt uit elkaar van ouderdom. het is een groot huisje maar geen stoel of tafeltje binnen, geen droogrek Geen kast om je kleren uit te hangen, ook de badkamer heeft een opknapbeurt nodig

Le personnel été très accueillant. Possibilité de louer un scooter au sein de l’hôtel. Super petit déjeuné. La chambre été propre. Les bungalow sont un peu vieillissant. Pression de l’eau de douche très faible.

Staff were absolutely exceptional.. very helpful, always smiling, and most spoke good English. Everything you need is on site, or can soon be arranged by the staff.. We hired 5 motorbikes for the day from the hotel to go exploring for the day.. At our last stop we had a slight issue with one of the bikes, which when we explained to the staff, were very apologetic, and refunded our money.. great service..!! Food and drinks at the resort are great, and very very fairly priced.. Large bottle of Chang 80 Thb,,!!, and most main dishes between 150-250 Thb The private beach is perfect, with many free sun loungers available. Water is crystal clear, and as warm as the swimming pool.. The resort is very clean as are the rooms, but, some of the fixtures and fittings are not exactly top quality. Could do with a little tlc here and there, but that is being picky. It does appear that some of the units are having a re-furb, but for the price, I would say it is very good value for money..

- Malagan0 (4/5): Not more again - The positive things are friendly staff at the reception and a very nice beach with Christal clear water. The breakfast buffet was also good. We had 3 rooms which must be completely renovated. Electric plug socket housings are broken chairs defective and so on. A lot of wages are at the Hotel arrear. All in all we would never book this Resort again

The hotel restaurant is not expensive.The ferry costs 600 bath per person for one way with company ( Koh Kood Express Ferry). - Irene (7/5): Rustic resort in dream location - Our bungalow offered a fantastic view of the beautiful bay. The staff were mostly friendly and extremely helpful, the breakfast buffet was very extensive. There were 2 bottles of water a day. The beds were very comfortable. The pool was clean and well maintained with a view of the sea. We were able to hire motorbikes from reception. There were massages on the beach and at reception. The bungalow was somewhat spartan, the bathroom was dark and had a mini sink. A wardrobe without compartments. Some of the few sockets were in very poor condition. No mosquito screens on the windows. The grounds as a whole are not particularly well maintained and access to some bungalows is via large stones, and the lighting is not particularly good in the dark. The staff at breakfast occasionally seemed lacklustre.

- Rowena (7/5): Good stay, resort has potential, will be good if property is refurbished - A-na-lay has its own beach cove and it's fantastic. I think all the beaches at Koh Kood are excellent. Breakfast is so-so, the dishes are almost the same daily. Restaurant food and prices are ok. The room is clean, however, the bed mattress is too soft for me. The other reviews are correct when they said that the property is old and really needs refurbishment. We are lucky that our cottage is in front of pool and looks modern than the rest of the cottages there.

The staff at reception is lovely and very helpful The hotel is very run down…it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. In the bathroom there was constantly water on the floor, the sink was leaking every time the tap was opened, the same with shower, it leaked water to the rest of the floor. With the humidity at the Koh Kood level, everything in the room smelled. There were gaps in the floor and in one spot when my husband stepped the floor cracked. The room had only a bed, no wardrobes or any other facilities. All chalets are set as twins, one wall is shared with a neighbour. The walls are so thin, you can actually hear full conversations even if people speak quietly, no privacy whatsoever. At breakfast bacon is fried together with eggs, we dont eat pork so we literally had nothing to eat apart from some fruit and toasts.

- Gyrit (8/5): - Vi var 2 par som rejste sammen og havde de to sammenhængende hytter yderst på stranden. Fantastisk udsigt og meget roligt. Værelserne var en fin størelse og en dejlig terrasse. Morgenmaden var rigtig god, dog ikke de store varianter, super god kaffe. Maden på restauranten var middelmådig. Men der var en lille by med flere små restauranter og en shop en kort gåtur derfra. Det var muligt at snorkle fra stranden og der var masser af fisk og lidt koraler ved klipperne.Fantastisk ø og fantastiske strande.Lejede en taxi og kørte øen rundt, 6 timer for 16000 bath.

- Karsten (8/5): God beliggenhed og dejlig morgenmad - Ved første øjekast ser det skidt ud, men det vinder ned nærmere bekendtskab. Værelset pænt stort men kun 1 håndklæde pr.person,ingen håndsæbe ved vasken, der bliver kun gjort rent hver anden dag. Sengen er lidt hård, aircondition larmer. Terrassen er lækker med god udsigt, poolen er nogenlunde men mange knækkede fliser i kanten som er lidt farlige. Dejlig strand og god morgenmad. Der står at man får bøder for mange ting, men så det ikke ske.

- Thomas (6/5): Für den Zustand zu teuer - Bei der Ankunft wird man vom Bauschutt begrüßt. Anlage schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Teilweise wird aber bereits renoviert. Ist aber auch schon sehr notwendig. Unser Bungalow war von außen gut, innen aber sehr abgewohnt und nicht mehr Zeitgemäß. Lage super. Frühstück top!!

- Amy (1/5): Never again - Friendly and helpful staff We read the bad reviews but decided to proceed with our booking here because there was very limited accommodation left on the island. Please do not make the same mistake. This resort is extremely run down, it is obvious the owner is not interested in doing any sort of maintenance or basic repairs. It is such a shame because the location is stunning and there is so much potential here with a few basic repairs that could go a long way. Very sad to see the moldy pools of dying fish and crabs, rubbish strewn everywhere and the polluted waterway right outside of the ocean view villa. We spent our time trying to avoid our room and couldn’t wait to leave. Staff are sweet, helpful and friendly which was the only positive we took from our stay.

- karris21 (8/5): A-Na- Lay Resort - Snorkel under the pier is a must. The fish are friendly and water is clear. But you can also find rubbish sadly. You can hire snorkelling gear/ kayaks from a guy on the beach(if you catch him there). A family we met said they went on an island hopping tour in Koh Chang and the fish are better here. The person at the front desk is super helpful and speaks good english. There is a big selection of breakfast choices. I wouldn't choose this place if you have mobility issues. There are lots of levels and uneven surfaces.

The staff in the reception are super friendly I could give 10 easily, but the hotel could do some basic improvements. 1- the breakfast could do few easy improvements. Having only instant coffee is really bad when you charge at least USD per night. The mango kept ending, just put a big fruit table. 2- the hotel should offer beach towels. This is a basic rule in beach resorts. 3- Even though this can be difficult because of the sea, there was some garbage and trash below the bungalows. The hotel should try to improve that. It is a paradise, but it is a bit frustrating entering your room looking to plastic botlles
