Claire (10/5): Fantastic Stay - We had a fabulous 4 night stay at the Holly Bush. As soon as we stepped into the pub, we received a warm greeting from the new owners and staff. The pub is at the heart of the community and welcomes a mix of both locals and guests, which makes it a special place to stay. Everyone seems relaxed and happy to chat to each other which makes for a really pleasant atmosphere. The chef is excellent and cooks a variety of dishes which he constantly updates. We were so impressed that we ate there every evening. There was a great choice of well kept local ales. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we slept well every night. Thanks for a lovely stay. Steve (8/5): Wonderful - Holly bush is great. The evening meal was delicious proper Northumbrian fare. The staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Our only negative was that the breakfast took ages to come out, but guess we got them on a bad day.

Wendy Howarth (10/5): Wonderful warm stay - Made to feel very welcome from the point of checkin, a wonderful warm welcome from the huge fire as well, we stayed in the gatehouse room , which is absolutely beautiful, and huge , very comfortable room, comfortable bed, and a huge shower, the room was lovely and warm. Our evening meal was delicious, and we were really looked after by a wonderful waitress. Who honestly went above and beyond to look after everyone. Our breakfast next morning was also delicious, and again the waitress was a wonderful lady who really looked after us. This is our 2nd stay at Hollybush and we will definitely be going back .

Was looking forward to the Rievers Pie but not available on our one night visit. On street parking outside front entrance. Large outdoor seating area at the rear overlooking the moors. beautiful but unfortunately it was cold, cloudy and some drizzle. We had the Highgreen room overlooking the front entrance on the upper floor. Comfortable but the double bed was a little too small for us. Think a Kingsize would fit in ok in my opinion. Good pressure shower. Glad we stayed. Lovely spot on the moors.
Wendy Howarth (10/5): Amazing find - We can not fault anything, it was absolutely beautiful, we stayed in the gatehouse room which was incredible and extremely comfortable, the inn it’s self is so cosy and it’s definitely the friendliest inn that we have been in, the food was 10 out 10 the views from the beer garden where beautiful, the staff where so lovely and nothing is too much for them, they just want to look after you. It’s in an outstanding area and not for from the beautiful Kielder forest. We can not wait to go back for a longer stay
IAN (10/5): A hidden gem in the hills of Greenhaugh - Thank you Lynne for making us feel very welcome, we loved our 2 night stay at The Holly Bush. Our room, The Gatehouse, was fantastic and the bed was very comfy. We ate at The Holly Bush on both nights and the food was simply amazing, complements to the chef and all the staff.

Nigel (10/5): Lovely Pub with Great Accommodation - Our stay at the Holly Bush Inn was fabulous. Very warm welcome, our room was lovely, located in a cottage next to the Inn. Very comfortable and quiet. Dinner at the Inn was great - plenty of choice and food was good, service excellent. Our dog was made very welcome too. Breakfast was superb and set us up for our onward journey. We would have no hesitation in recommending Holly Bush Inn or visiting again in the future.

Unfortunately our room was located above the bar & it was noisy - I was actually ill also & was difficult trying to sleep with the additional noise from down stairs. Food was good and breakfast service was excellent. Husband impressed with range of ales he could try at the bar.

Staff were very welcoming, bedroom was basic and shower in need of updating but very clean. Breakfast was lovely, staff very helpful and friendly. It was great for our short stay and well priced.
Sarajane (8/5): One night stopover - Great little find in the middle of nowhere! Ideal for Kielder Observatory which is why we stayed. Our room was The Pink Room. Small and on the basic side but perfect for us. Bed was a comfortable double, although a slightly bigger bed would have been more comfortable. Room was cosy and warm. As the room was upstairs the ceilings slope a little bit so if you are tall , like me, you will have to duck. Breakfast was included and was delicious . Food is served at lunch and dinner but we didn't have a chance to try it. The menu looked good though. Would certainly return if we are in the area again.
