If you stay on the top floor as we did you need to negotiate quite a lot of stairs. It lacks of an atrium or an area for guest to hang around once they check out. The room had no windows or any view. Pretty much no natural light.

O "hotel" nao oferece limpeza, e isso nao estava no anúncio. Chegamos a noite e vimos que nao tinha elevador (também nao informado no anuncio), bastante escada para carregar malas pesadas, tudo mal sinalizado/confuso, demoramos para encontrar o quarto. Infelizmente nao foi uma experiência agradável como estávamos tendo até então nessa viagem.

• Mark (9/5): Great location and amenities - Excellent location on the main street of Port Douglas. Across the road from Coles and hotel and easy walking distance to other shops and restaurants and the marina. Nice pool and BBQ area. Our one bedroom unit was well appointed, with several fans and airconditioners. Linen was crisp and clean. Would have been nice to have a small convection oven in the unit, although we did have a microwave and two ceramic hotplates.

The staff were more than accommodating making us feel at home, they even helped us getting to the airport on our departure which was amazing and super helpful! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting port douglas, and return myself when visiting again!
• Kit (8/5): Newport provided everything we needed for our short stay, and Ash and Patrick were so helpful. - Location was the best for wedding at the cove and sugar wharf. Room clean and bed was very good for older folks. Bathroom huge so 2 can share. No soap holder in the shower.
• Bev (7/5): Comfortable with one or two exceptions, friendly staff, well located - We're biennial visitors to the Port over many years but haven't stayed on Macrossan Road before. Extremely convenient with much less need for coach travel or hire car. Bedroom, lounge and kitchen were comfortable and roomy enough for two. Bathroom was well appointed, except for issues noted below. Pool and pool area was a good size for the complex. The wardrobe was very small and drawer space inadequate for two people staying for more than three days. The bathroom desperately needs an exhaust fan, and the toilet had an old pipe, unpleasant smell. Our one bedroom apartment was without a spa tub, and as such, there is much wasted space on the balcony. Perhaps an additional small wardrobe with drawers could be located there, as well as another luggage chair? The inclusion of many artificial flowers and plants cheapens the apartment. Perhaps one small vase of 3-4 flowers would be more welcoming and a minimal cost to the business.

The manager, Patrick, was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The rooms were spotless and beautifully maintained—so neat and comfortable. I didn’t get the chance to enjoy the sparkling pool or the beach!

Totally my fault for not reading that there was no lift on the property as it is clearly stated so no fault of the property at all. I just have mobility issues so that was difficult. The pool was fantastic and the rooms were extremely well appointed and clean. We were lucky to be in one of the highest rooms with a balcony that overlooked the pool and across to the mountains.

• Jarred S (5/5): Has potential but acts more like an Airbnb - The pool is great and they have a little BBQ facility with utensils to use. The rooms are a generous size, and particularly the shower/bathroom. Netflix is included in your stay. They message you before your stay to try and get the room ready as close as possible to your arrival. Ours was ready an hour early. Stays shorter than a week get no room servicing. We were begrudgingly given a second mini body wash. Our air con started leaking, though was relatively promptly fixed. We were told we were not allowed to put it colder than 23°C. We were texted just before the end of our stay that we were expected to take out all the rubbish to the main bins. This is a bizarre request for an alleged 4 star hotel. One of the reception guys was very nice, the other was quite short with us. The bed for two is actually just two singles pushed together and you can feel the hard edges running right up the middle. Not comfortable, and hurt my neck sleeping on it.
• 805leahw (10/5): Location and service A+ - Stayed here in October 2025 for 5 nights for a girls trip away. Initially booked primarily for the location. On arrival were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff who showed us to our room and offered to help us with our bags up the stairs (keep in mind there are no lifts). We stayed in a standard queen room which isn't a room that has been renovated, as i believe the superior rooms have been, however the room had everything we could want. Kitchenette, TV with free Foxtel, outdoor area that led directly through a door to the pool (like a swim out without the price tag LOL) and pool towels provided. As there are only 12 units, the accommodation was very quiet and the adults-only rule means you don't have to share the amenities with noisy little kidlets (perfect for a couple of mid 50's lassies!) Now to the location, and honestly we hit the jackpot here....situated toward the wharf end of Macrossan St, wee had Coles across the road, great pubs and other eateries within 2 mins walk and 4-mile beach at the other end of the street was only a 10 min walk away. Highly recommend a stay here.

No lift to help reach apartments on top floor which we knew before we came but would be helpful to have better access for top floors.

• clark (6/5): Great location in centre, no lifts, lots of stairs, parking great, be careful when booking room - Location is very central to all bars and restaurants and beach On arrival we were escorted to a ground floor room at back of hotel, room 210, it was like a dungeon, the outdoor area was dark full of mozzies and zero outlook, we went to reception and after two attempts were giving a room on the top floor. Word of warning, when booking don’t rely on the web page photos, they show all rooms, we assumed that we would have a balcony with some view, not a wet mossy wall. To the managers credit they did move us but only after I insisted.

• Lauren (10/5): Great location, great little apartment, would 100% stay again. - Location - amazing. Rooms a little dated but fantastic non the less. Everything you need and really fair price. Just a little dated is all but that’s reflected in the cheap price.
• D+M (8/5): - Die Lage an der Macrossan Street war sehr gut. Das Auto kam in eine allerdings recht enge Tiefgarage. Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig, die Terrasse fast so groß wie das Zimmer selber Dass die Lobby - direkt an der belebten Straße - bei unserer Ankunft nicht besetzt war. Wir mussten erst anrufen und dann ging niemand ans Telefon. Nach einiger Warterei kam schließlich jemand.
• Erin (5/5): Great location but very outdated and needs a makeover - Positives: - Great location to all shops, cafes and restaurants. - The apartment was very clean. - Although there were a lot of stairs (we stayed on the top floor) the room position was nice and quiet, and private. - The bed was very comfortable. - No smoking accomodation which was great. - Adult only accomodation which we enjoyed as there was no squealing coming from the pool area or anywhere else in the establishment. - Was nice to be able to sit out on the balcony on the chairs and table. - The quietness of the room as our apartment was set back from the road. Negatives: - It wasn’t until after arriving and reading the guest book that we learned towels/toilet paper etc only get changed/restocked once during our ten day stay. We had to go and buy our own toilet paper because when we arrived there was a half empty roll on the toilet roll holder and one full roll in the cabinet. I have never stayed in a self contained accommodation where toilet paper was not restocked at least every 2nd to 3rd day. We arrived on the Sunday and it wasn’t until the Friday we were provided with fresh towels and just one roll of toilet paper. - The garage door was broken and so we had trouble getting the car out one evening to be able to return it to the car hire place. I had to call the emergency office number for him to come and open it. - Apartment very dated. - Horrible smell from the septic pipes in the bathroom. No deodoriser sprays would get rid of it. This was the worst part of the stay there. - Plastic cups to drink out of is unacceptable. Maybe if you were staying at a cheap motel, but this place was mid range and not cheap by any means. - Laundry room has one very old washer and dryer that required 4 x $1 coins each. No one carries coins these days and it was hard trying to find a store to provide us with enough change. Not ideal. - No extractor fan in bathroom/toilet. - The layout in the bedroom is poorly designed because the side table is right next to the wardrobe which means the wardrobe is hard to get to. - Too scared to cook anything much on the hot plates in the kitchen because we were told very clearly that if there’s any smoke it will set off the fire alarms and we would be charged an $800 call out fee as the volunteer fire brigade would have to attend. Instead, we were told to use the outdoor bbq area to cook anything on that might cause a bit of smoke. Not ideal when I don’t eat meat and so I wouldn’t want to place my food on a bbq that had had meat on it.

Pool was very pleasant. Minimal natural light in our room - it didn’t bother us as we were out most of the time but something to note.

• Neil (6/5): Adequate - Good location, nice pool, spacious apartment with good self-catering facilities. The room was not serviced at all during our 4 night stay. Mould in the bathroom. No extractor fan. Management seemed very complacent regarding maintenace.

• david (4/5): Noisy and cramped. - Location is the reason we chose this hotel. Tiny room at back of property with no windows you can see out of and only place to sit is on the bed,no chairs. Saturday night was extremely noisy from we believe was the local back packers rave going on and then woken at 5am by birds calling out.we have stayed here at least 2 times before and haven't had the noise problem.
• Julie (9/5): - Location was amazing. Apartment had everything we needed and the pool was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was quiet is a night. I was going to say no lift and carrying my suitcase up the stairs but Patrick did that did us.
