• Kerryn (10/5): Perfect host! - The property is very hidden and has a stunning view over the pool. The room had everything we needed for a short stay. Close to the airport. Clean facilities and comfortable bed. Amal was the host and was by far one of the friendliest people we met in Sri Lanka. He and his family cooked us a lovely home cooked meal on our last evening in Sri Lanka. It was amazing. He was even kind enough to give me some of the ingredients to take home. Our children enjoyed the animals around the house and playing with Amal’s nephew. He also dropped us to the airport the next morning. We will definitely be back next time we come to Sri Lanka. I couldn’t quite get the temp right on the aircon, but it didn’t bother us too much.

• Ken (10/5): Much more than just an airport hotel - A great place to stay, it’s 10 minutes or so to the airport, but you won’t be bothered by aircraft noise- I think we noticed 2 planes. It’s run by Amal, a fabulously energetic host and an excellent communicator. We had arranged for him to collect us from Kataragama in the south and it went like clockwork. The hotel is a house with 2 or 3 bedrooms, set in a beautiful garden and overlooking a tempting pool. It would be well worth making a stay of a couple of days here, to enjoy the surrounding area, go bird spotting on the lagoon and use that lovely pool. We were taken for a quick trip into Negumbo in search of cinnamon and nutmeg by Amal’s nephew Michel, which made for an interesting trip, particularly a brief visit to an interesting Buddhist temple with particularly lavishly interiors. The evening meal was phenomenal- I think we had 10 different dishes ( ours were vegetarian but there were meat dishes on offer). It was without doubt our best meal in Sri Lanka. And then Amal was up again at 5 to take us to the airport, after much too brief a stay.

• Erin (10/5): Fantastic! - We booked Anuhas Villas as we had a very early airport run the next day. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The villas are set in lush gardens with a beautiful swimming pool where we were able to enjoy the last afternoon of our holidays. The team who greeted and looked after us were just delightful and cooked us the most delicious Sri Lankan curry in the evening. A little gem and absolutely to be recommended for those staying in Negombo. We would happily return!

• Olivia (10/5): Couldn't have asked for more - we love Anuhas Villas - We couldn't have asked for more from our Anuhas Villa host (Amal). After a long taxi journey from Weligama to Colombo, we were greeted with kindness and offered a lovely home cooked traditional meal. Our host Amal drove us to the airport first thing in the morning to catch our flight to India. After facing Visa issues, we had to spend an extra day at Anuhas Villas. Our host turned our stressful situation into a very reassuring experience. Amal was very helpful and gave us lots of advice on how best to deal with the tricky situation. He allowed us to use his landline phone and we managed to solve everything. The food is delicious and totally homegrown from their garden. The pool is beautiful and the wildlife is in abundance here. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and we highly recommend staying at Anuhas Villas!!
• Sarah (7/5): Good - The breakfast was amazing, some really delicious local food and plenty to eat. Location was relatively easy to get to from the airport as we needed a place close by. It's a very basic hotel but served it's purpose as a good airport hotel.
• Sally (9/5): Simple, friendly and very clean. - Left very early, but loved the pool. Very clean, nice staff. We would have liked tea and coffee making facilities In bedroom.
• Brian (4/5): Disappointing. - The environment is superb with interesting wildlife and is quiet and relaxing. The staff member tried to be as helpful as possible. The pool is well looked after. The website misrepresented to property. There is no snack bar or gym. The 'restaurant' is 4 tables outside. There is no menu for any meals. For dinner only Sri Lankan food was available with no choice for breakfast. Booking.com website suggests payment may be made by card. When checking out I was told that I had to withdraw cash to pay on the way to the airport. I suspect this is for them to avoid paying credit card fees. My room had a small screen tv which didn't work. Presumably they did not want to pay for the subscription. I saw no sign of a children's playground.
• Shirley (10/5): An enjoyable stay with very accommodating hosts. - If you were looking for a peaceful calm place to stay - excellent. The lounge area to sit was perfect and to sit outside facing the garden for breakfast was lovely as was the breakfast. Our pickup waited patiently for us for a long time whilst the airline searched for our lost luggage and our host even found us new toothbrushes and toothpaste as luggage was not found. We enjoyed the family atmosphere our host had created. Location seemed a little remote if u were looking for somewhere with things to do. The sofa bed was not very comfortable as it had cushions so there was a join beneath you. A mattress topper of some kind would have made the sofa more like a bed and then this stay would have been perfect.

• Kerstin (10/5): Highly recommended - Perfect place to start our Sri Lanka vacation. Only a short drive away from the airport with very reliable and comfortable pick up service and yet very calm. The big garden and the pool are perfect to relax. Everyone was so kind and made us feel welcome from the start. The villa is very spacious and well equipped - also for traveling with a toddler, food was tasty, and Amal was always available for any questions. We weren’t bothered by power cuts but we’ll equipped in case there’s be any longer ones. Lastly we can also recommend traveling with his brother for your onward journey who drive us very safely to our next destination. Thank you!! Nothing.

Feeling home. 15 min from CMB airport - Beautiful villa in the middle of a very large garden with more than 100 coconut trees, and many different types of trees and plants. Amal is an amazing host. Warm welcoming, he made me feel at home and prepared customised meals with local style and spices for a delicious result. The huge garden is very peaceful and Amal offered me to visit it with him; the diversity of exotic fruits and birds (Kingfishers as well) makes it a little paradise. I stayed one night prior to catching a 10am flight, and it was very nice to have their own driver to bring me at the airport within 15 minutes, after a very nice breakfast prepared by Amal. Great experience, and I will come back next time I visit Sri Lanka. It was all good. Nothing to complain about. Loved it!
• Grahame (6/5): Wot no Telly - Basic accommodation for the price. No kettle or drink making stuff in the road. Appears to be run by a schoolboy! On our last of three nights we wanted to watch some television, the TV wasn’t working. The schoolboy made no attempt to rectify the problem or offer another room. Breakfast was good but not included as every other hotel during our two week visit.
• Verified traveler (2/5): - Unable to contact the proprietor to confirm the airport transfer that was part of the stay. All attempts to contact the proprietor failed, and thus, leaving me no choice but to book another hotel given the scheduled late arrival with the inability to confirm that there would be someone to receive my family at the airport, much less the property.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - This accommodation rates as one of our top picks of all times. Being frequent travellers, we are used to all levels of service but manager Amal provides care and service that is second to none. The surrounding grounds are beautiful, peaceful and well kept and that’s just the start. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the location is perfect for the purpose of getting to the airport quickly. Set back from the main bustling streets, this place was perfect for some relaxation. Amal is one of the most pleasant and kind managers we have ever met. He spent every effort trying to make our short stay there as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and even went to the extent of getting our favourite local dish for dinner. He organised airport drop off for us and also a tuk tuk for a half day tour. Nothing was too difficult and everything speedily organised. • Shandi (8/5): - Nice and quiet new hotel near the airport offering free airport transfers. It is a family run business and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the garden is beautifully maintained. It is a good place if you want to just relax in quiet surroundings near the airport.
• STUART (10/5): Little Gem - We wanted a stay near the airport and the pictures and reports looked optimistic. However we were overwhelmed by this lovely intimate family resort, the facilities and home cooked evening meal were faultless. We just wished we had booked the day earlier to chill out for two full days before our long flight back to Manchester. It was excellent value for money and I wish the family all success with this new resort.
