Note: the hotel includes two properties a short walk from each other so it took a bit of sleuthing to find where to check in; the property with the front desk is “Hotel California.” The coordinates provided on Expedia also didn’t take us to the hotel; you need to head north, away from the police station and orthopedic hospital.

Die Unterkunft ist fußläufig zur Tianmen Cable Car und zum Bus-/Zugbahnhof Die Mitarbeiter können bei der Beschaffung von Eintrittskarten behilflich sein (hatte ich meinem Fall aber leider nicht geklappt) Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, sodass man andere Gäste als auch draußen viel hören kann und das Bett war sehr hart. Excellent air conditioning unit in the hot weather of these summer months, the only drawback is the lack of a ramp at the entrance of the hotel for those guests who are locomotion limited. The elevator worked just fine and the room is large enough to fit a wheelchair in.

- David (4/5): Disappointing - First, the hotel is not 6 KM from the National Forest Park as indicated in hotels.com, but about 40 KM from it. This was disappointing but might not have been the hotel's fault. That said, the service at the hotel itself was bad. We had no hot water on our first night. There was also no room cleaning service while we were there. When we asked the front desk person for towels and shampoo bottles we were treated as though we had asked for the moon. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place (and hotels.com should update its system for Zhangjiajie to show that this hotel is nowhere close ot the National Forest).

Location was close to Tianamen Mountain main gate and a lot of delicious restaurants.

Economical, clean, hot and cold drinking water available in rooms, but don’t expect luxury. Rooms were comfortable enough but rather small, bathroom was tiny (no enclosure for showering). I’d rate it 3 stars as a bed-and-breakfast; it should not call itself a hotel.

Overall would recommend this budget friendly hotel.

- Nick (10/5): - A basic but cozy hotel, extremely close to the Zhangjiajie's train station, bus station (for getting to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park), and the cable car (for getting to Tianmen Mountain). I was extremely grateful that the hotel offered to pick me up from the airport. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the nearby tourist attractions and can help you plan your days. A bunch of eateries are also nearby for lunch and dinner, as well as a supermarket for snacks and extra water. A very pleasant stay, highly recommend and will be returning as soon as I have the chance to travel to China again.

- Fanny (10/5): - very comfortalbe hotel. The boss is super kind and speak English very well. The room is warm and comfortable. I come with a big bag of dirty clothes, they help to wash all clean in the laundry room at the top floor, it really gives me home feeling. They have good good coffee, nice American breakfast, this is really rare in Zhangjiaije. They give me free maps, and tell me all the details about the scenic spots, which makes my trip so easy and happy. I really highly recommend people to stay in this hotel. It is really fantastic.
- Alyssa (10/5): - This is a fantastic hotel, especially the boss Sean, is really a fantastic and handsome man. I arrived airport at almost 1am, Sean was wating for me in the arrival hall, very patient and kind. He speaks very good English.Their airport pick up is free, no matter how late or how early. I like the breakfast very much, healthy and tasty. also Sean books me the tickets for Tianmen mountain and Fox lady show. The seat for the fox lady show is really good, vip vip vip. I really enjoy the time in Zhangjiajie and the time in Hotel Califormnia.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel California. The hotel staff went out of their way to help us out . The gave us a free ride from the airport late at night. Arranged a car to take us to the glass bridge and have us a map to make our way to train station. The hotel is charming and the beds comfortable.
- Patricia (10/5): Great hotel, amazing staff/owner - Great hotel, small but nicely decorated and comfortable room, convenient location (walking distance from bus to national Forrest as well as cable car base station), but the real reason for my 5star recommendation is the amazing staff/owner. I booked a 2 two day trip to Zhangjiajie from Beijing after seeing a few videos about this place. I do not speak Chinese and this was our first trip to China. After seeing in other reviews that the owners were very responsive, I decided to book this place. Within hours of booking, the owner contacted me to confirm free pickup at airport and advised me to get tickets for Tianmen Mountain in advance. He bought the tickets for us, since there is no (easy) way to do this online. When we got there, we were picked up at the airport and despite the late hour, the owner took time to explain to us where to go and how to get there. Without his help, it would have taken us much longer to figure out logistics and we would have seen much less. The lady at the font desk was very sweet and despite not speaking English as well as the hotel owner, she went out of her way to help with whatever we needed and made us feel at home.
- Chris (10/5): - We stayed at this place 2 nights and we really enjoyed it. The place is conveniently located near the train station and near the entrance of Tianmen mountain. Our hosts were very kind, helpful and humble. They spoke English well and consistently helped the folks that stayed there whether it be to book a train, a show or other things. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place if you're staying in town.

- chong (10/5): - Well located as the hotel was just diagonally opposite the main bus and train station. In addition, it was also walking distance to one of the main tourist attractions in Zhangjiajie - Tianmen Mountain. I have to commend highly on the friendly and helpful staff who never failed to answer to my needs when approached. Though the room size and the toilet were rather small but they were cosy. I would not hesitate in making a return to the hotel for my next trip to the place.
- Jessica (10/5): - Really clean, comfortable, central and cute hotel! The beds are big and comfortable and the toilets are clean!! It’s small and very cozy! Short walk to the train station and Tianmen mountain. Very close to restaurants and shops. Highly recommend!
