Hotellet var pænt og rent og havde fine senge.
Desuden var morgenmaden fin. Vi fik hvad vi skulle bruge - og betalte for ved vores ophold. Vi kommer gerne igen

- Deise (1/5): The worst hotel and staffs I have ever experience - I am a traveler and have been in so many hotels around the world and never had this issue.
First I tried to book this stay directly on their website, but it did not work. So I emailed then and for my surprise they asked me to send them my credit card full detail (name, number and code!) I refused and booked via Booking.com where I safely paid with my virtual credit card.
Then when I got there nobody speaks English, but I was able to do the check in and get my room key. The room was SO SMELLY! It was dark and smelly. There shower was very moldy and dirty. But since we were going to stay only one night we did not complain and let it go.
Next day we went to do the check out, the guy at the reception print out the paper with the room amount + the drinks we had the night before, and added the amount at the card machine and asked me to handle him my credit card without showing me the amount he put on the machine. I refused and asked to see the amount on the machine first,. Then I noticed that he put full amount (room + drinks).
I tried to tell and show him my receipts from my card and booking.com that we have already paid and I would like to pay the drinks only. But he got REALLY upset and start to shout at me very angry and asking for my credit card all the time, I refused.
I had to call Booking.com service desk so they could help me. They were amazing and contacted the hotel immediately and the guy come back to us saying that everything was sorted out with Booking.com. So he would just charge us for the drinks. He again put the amount and did not want to show the machine with the amount at first, but we refused to handle the card again and finally he showed the machine. We paid 14,20 euros for the drinks and then left. Later in the car reading the receipt we realized the drinks was 12,10 so he took 2,10 euros from us anyways. I don't recommend this place. The whole situation was very shade and disappointing, the hotel and staffs are terrible and it was not cheap!
- Guy (8/5): Une bonne nuit - Excellent accueil à l’hôtel domaine des vignes. Hôtel simple et propre. On n’entend pas le bruit de passage sur la route. Excellente nuit. Petit déjeuner moyen, viennoiseries (probablement décongelées) un peu molles. Parking gratuit et facilement accessible
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Joanna (4/5): Good location for an overnight stay. Not good enough for the price . - Location good for walking to the town center. Free parking on site . Nice view of the vineyards . Only three pillows for two people.
Shower did not stay in place on the holder and nowhere to put my soap. Bare walls in the bedroom with only one picture. No drinks or coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast €12 each on top of room charge .
- Sebastian (8/5): - Leider Schimmel in der Dusche, ansonsten sehr sauber
- Lindsay (9/5): lovely stay. good views and breakfast - good location with lovely views there was no security light at the back to enter the hotel so very dark.
- Peter (2/5): Very poor - This hotel is pretty worn out and lacks any kind of coziness. It’s pretty much the only option in Ampuis so it’s priced accordingly (= way too expensive for what it is). The staff is not very friendly either. Not recommended.
- REMUALD (10/5): Idéal - Simple efficace propre confortable et accueillants
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Tres bon accueil.
Tres arrangeant car je suis arrivé tard.
- Aaron (5/5): Passable -
- Meritxell (5/5): normal - comfortable bed room was cold. limited working hours from reception.
- ANDRE (8/5): Bien - Accueil sympathique ,chambre succincte mais propre,télé 3 chaines ...
Par contre petit déjeuner assez cher pour la qualité et le choix
- JGW (4/5): - An hotel where you cant eat is not o
Furthermore the breakfast was typical french so not good for a Dutchman
- Guy (8/5): Envie de s’arrêter dans les vignes - Hôtel calme dans la verdure.
Agréable discussion didactique sur les vins de la région et sur l’art de la dégustation.
- Nick (3/5): Disappointing - Location Breakfast was poor. The electricity in the room tripped out both evenings and there were no staff there to reset so could not charge phones or do anything that required power including see!!!
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Dana (10/5): - Very nice property very convenient to the ViaRhona bike path with secure bicycle storage. The room was comfortable and clean. We were able to easily walk to a grocery and wine tasting. We visited Ampuis on a Sunday when there were few restaurants open in the community, but very much enjoyed the prepared meal (cold salads, charcuterie and wine!) the hotel was able to provide for us. The breakfast was great as well. Definitely recommend for bike travelers!
- Heikki (8/5): Yöpyminen - Ihan ok yhdeksi yöksi.
Monipuolinen aamiainen.
Chambres confortables, spatieuses. Petit déjeuner copieux. Environnement attrayant.
- Sophia (8/5): Good hotel to stopover in Ampuis - Good stop over night in Ampuis, walking distance to excellent restaurant, Bistrot de Serine.
Room fine for cost. Good access to National Park. Wouldn’t want to stay more than one night as quite basic.
- Shirley (10/5): Great hotel & stay - Great stay! nothing was to much trouble for the staff.
- JonathanD81 (4/5): Basic, but fine for a night - Chances are if you're staying in Ampuis you're here for a night, so this is fine, but don't expect much.
We arrived and found the reception was closed. When we called the number on the door, struggling with my GCSE French we found out that they were closed until 5. After insisting we were standing there with bags in hand someone came within 10 minutes or so to check us in.
Our booking included a welcome drink, which we weren't giveny, but that's by the by.
The room is basic. It looks like it's been recently decorated but not to a great standard. The shower room is old and badly designed. The shower itself has no door or curtain so water floods into the rest of the room. The towels are so thin and rubbish they get soaked instantly so were no good.
There's plenty of free parking on site. WIFI wasn't great.
Like most places breakfast is expensive if you want it, but the town centre is only a 10 minute walk up the road if you want to grab a pastry and coffee.
Plenty of good vineyards around, but try and book in advance to avoid disappointment.
- TimTHF (8/5): Pleasant enough - 2 of us stayed here recently for 2 nights while we toured the local wine area. The owners were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was adequate and the location, within walking distance of shops and restaurants, was convenient. It's not a 'luxury' hotel by any means, but it doesn't pretend to be....after all, you get what you pay for and this is reasonable value for money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not a three star - It is not easy to describe but this was our most expensive hotel on our travels through France and our most disappointing.
- Mplmetal (6/5): Mmmmmm... - Clean and functional room. The air conditioning struggled to cope with the unseasonably hot weather but was fine overall. No frills. Breakfast was expensive and not included in the price. It was lacklustre at best. Forgettable at best.
- David (10/5): 1 night family stopover. - Friendly independent hotel nestled in amongst vineyards. Hotel was looking a tad past its best but still ok.Eat in a beautiful restaurant in the hillside overlooking the Rhone.
- spmmik53 (6/5): Super friendly and helpful hotel management - This was a transit stop for us - and deteriorating weather conditions did not help. We stayed on a Monday night - beware of the "lundi fermee" syndrome in France. The hotel management made some restaurant suggestions in nearby Vienne - but also offered us the option of a sampling platter of local produce, and of course the local wines. Given the weather conditions we opted for the latter. The food platter for 2 was huge - offering a great selection of local charcutrie and cheeses. As regards the wines we were spoilt for choice with both local Cote Roti and other Rhone wines available.
The room was simple but clean. The bed could have been a little larger, but otherwise OK.
The breakfast selection was simple - if you want cheese and cold cuts these need to be ordered separately.
As earlier mentioned the weather was bad when we stayed and I'm sure that there is plenty to visit and see (wine-wise) in the area.
- MauriceP535 (8/5): Overnight stop - Clean hotel with friendly owners - not a chain. The owners also have their own vinyard and can offer excellent and well priced Viognier and Cotes Rotie. Breakfast bar is good with a fascinating auto barista.
- flissmcl (10/5): Serene, perfectly located, relaxing - We had a wonderful stay here - perfectly located within walking distance of the Amphuis town. Beautiful view of the vines on the hills, quiet, large and clean rooms! Service was friendly and ample parking. Didn't manage to try the vineyards wine - maybe next time!
- michaelbS2622GF (10/5): Wonderful welcome and marvellous food and wine - We were travelling from Lyon to our son's wedding and needed a stopover after travelling on Eurostar from London. We booked the hotel with no real knowledge of the region but were delighted with our decision. A friendly welcome on arrival, comfortable room and astounding views of the local vineyards from our room. We asked if there was food available and was told that they could only provide some meat and cheese that night. A large and tasty spread arrived and we sat in the garden enjoying the food and the house wine. In this case the house wine was literally that, the wine produced by the owner. Definitely a good find
- 419marting (10/5): Ideal location, great views and perfect welcome - The place was simple and clean, beds were very comfortable and the neighbourhood was very quiet. We enjoyed our overnight stay. The wine tasting was a great experience and the recommendations for dinner and visits were spot on. Thank you!
- Kakan2 (8/5): Good service - A good hotel for wine tourism in cote rotie and Condrieu, situated on the outskirts of Ampuis. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms clean and beds good, but price also fairly high for a small village. If wheather permits very nice to take the breakfast on the terrass.
- adamtope23 (6/5): Bit tired but owner is friendly - If you need to stay in Ampuis, this is your only option. Though honestly, stay somewhere 10-15 minutes away. There are many much nicer new options very close by. We dined at a few other hotels in the area and should have spent the extra 10-20 Euros extra a night for newly renovated rooms elsewhere.
The hotel is located right outside the city center of Ampuis off the highway, across from the fabulous vineyards of Cote Rotie. The view out the window of our room was wonderful (if you like looking at vineyards).
The owner of the hotel is nice and helped us with some restaurant recommendations. The owner speaks minimal English, in case that is important.
The rooms are ok. They are a bit tired. For instance, our room had some cobwebs. The shower had some deterioration and mold. Our toilet had no toiler paper holder, just a half-used roll of toilet paper on top of the tank. There are no tissued in the bathroom. This is bare bones basic accommodations. The lobby is basic and some of the mirrors and fake plants in the common areas could use a dusting.
I couldn't get the wifi to work, so no comments on the speed.
Towels were small and thin. The bed was reasonably comfortable though. The room had no real amenities other than a TV.
- Morebreaksforme (8/5): Good, clean accommodation - We stayed in this small hotel in Ampuis for a one night stopover on route to Provence. It's in a great position, easy access off the A7 auto route, parking onsite, and only 5 mins walk into the small town of Ampuis. As we were there on a Saturday night, we were able to go to the Bistro de Serine in town for dinner which was lovely. There are also some nice places to walk in the area which is near the Cote Rotie vineyards and the Rhone. The hotel is clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and helpful, and there was free Wifi in the room. Amenities are basic but adequate (no fridge or kettle in room), and breakfast had limited selections. Keep in mind that the walls are quite thin, so if you are a light sleeper you might need ear plugs. We would happily stay here again for a short visit.
- CaptainHoof (4/5): Overpriced! - This hotel has a few negative points. To start with, it looks a bit rundown, and could use some maintenance. Most walls and doors bear marks from previous visitors. A bit of paint could give everything a nicer look.
The rooms are ok, but all had a bit of a smell. One of our rooms had clearly been occupied by smokers, however the management immediately offered us another room.
Breakfast was a turndown, with only a few options. Everything is prepacked or comes out of the freezer (like the pastries).
The worst is the price tag. This hotel is absolutely overpriced! We have had better experiences in hotels that were half the price!
On the plus side, the beds are good, and the hotel is located in a quiet area with private parking.
We will not stay here again and advice you not to go there either.
- B5124EImikee (6/5): Overpriced and pretentious - Good location and breakfast. Rooms a little tatty - need repainting. Wardrobe sliding door was hanging off its runner and the modern shower was a disaster - half didn't work and lack of screen meant water all over the floor. For the standard it was overpriced - fur coat and no knickers as my Grandma used to say.
- Salltis (8/5): Stay in the vines at France most exclusive appellation - A small family run modern hotel is just yards away from the famous vines of Cote Rotie.
The owner, himself a wine producer, will gladly help you to organize great wine tasting at the smaller local wine yards. It only takes 5 minutes walk to get in the small village of Ampuis.
- mike0542 (10/5): Lovely room and very clean modern accommodation. - Very impressed with hotel which had lovely rooms that were modern and stylish. White crisp clean bed linen with soft white fluffy towels. Good parking and good size breakfast room.
- tulsau (10/5): Loved this place - We absolutely loved this place. It was modern and stylish. Upon first entrance into the lobby I knew we were going to be in a good place. Once we went to our room we were not disappointed. Very spacious room with wood floors and great bathroom. Heat worked great and the view was beautiful. This was a great choice if visiting the Cote Rotie area. Walking distance to Ampuis as well which is a cute village. We walked into town each day to get fresh bread for our picnics. Would definitely stay here again. Be sure to eat at Les Saveurs du Marche.
- Nogbad (10/5): Modern, Charming, Knowledgeable, What more could you want? - Full marks to this modern, stylish hotel in the heart of the Cote Rotie. We were warmly welcomed, and given a room with an extra bed for our 14yr old, a view of the fabled slopes, a wi-fi login, a good breakfast included with charm, efficiency and a minimum of fuss. Our request for an evening meal recommendation yielded a choice, and a table reservation at 'On dirait le sud' in Condrieu (excellent); and our subsequent request for an introduction to a vigneron was similarly dealt with there and then with a phone call which led to a personally conducted tasting chez Yves Laroy. A delight.
