Guest Reviews
- Doi (10/5): -
- Jacques (9/5): Great for Vacation - Practically private beach nearby (walking). Privacy in and around unit. Kitchenette (though we bought a pan). Table with chairs inside and outside. Car rental onsite (arranged ahead including transfer from airport through email, good car). Swimming pool closed. No groceries nearby. Need a car. No breakfast (not even coffee & milk for first breakfast). Only Japanese TV (most of Japan like that). Local restaurant did not seem open (May).
- Hendrik (8/5): Good value for money - nice location The pool was not available
- yuko (10/5): -
- Tricia (10/5): - The property is located in a rural part of the island. It is clean and very convenient to have a kitchen.
- Jane (9/5): - A great little cottage with everything you need for a self cook stay. Comfy beds and only a short walk to a gorgeous beach.
Thanks to Naomi who welcomed us.
- Chiho (9/5): Peaceful and beautiful place to stay - The location. Very near to the lovely beach.
Very quiet peaceful place. There is no shops like convenience store nearby but we knew it in advance. And that makes the place like Nosoko very attractive, so its not bad really.
- Susanna (9/5): - We loved our stay in our little cottage style place. The proximity to the beach was the best. Nosoko is a very quiet little area of the island and you will definitely need a car. Naoko and Nobu were super helpful with pick up/drop off and their car hire option. The cottage was clean and everything was working properly. The kitchen is ample to prepare a little meal. You have to be aware that the closest supermarket is 30 min away. For us it was not a problem as we were exploring the island everyday and would come past a little supermarket somewhere. Eating out in the area is possible but you need to book in advance. Don't forget to climb Mt Nosoko, it is a short walk/climb rewarded with stunning views.
- Anna (10/5): It was great time for us. We really enjoy our stay in Beach Village Nosoko - Appartment was very clin and have everything which is needed. Its located close to very cozy and nice beach. Contact with Owners was great. They pick up us from the airport. We rent from them car, scuba diving set and even the jappanese BBQ for one evening. They shared some fruits from their garden which ware delicious.

- Nava (10/5): -
- Shannon (10/5): Fantastic - The beach was beautiful, extremely private, we pretty much had it to ourselves.
- Chiara (9/5): -
Nichts
- Marta Remolà i Grabulós (9/5): -
- Inês (10/5): Best place ever!!! Everything was absolutely perfect, the owners are so lovely and we spent such a nice time in Ishigaki -
- Francesca (9/5): - The location with a private beach! Beautiful. Moreover It was well kept, the kitchen was very well equipped. I liked everything, however at night there could be big spiders outside. You'll Need a car or a motorbike in order to move around, there are few restaurants in the neighborhood (usually they close early around 9 pm). The supermarket Is in the city (around 30 Min by car)
- Jakub (10/5): - Great place to stay on Ishigaki island. Well-organized pick up and drop off to the airport was helpful. Hosts are extremely helpful. Beach just a few minutes so you can walk for morning swim or sunset. I recommend to rent a car with hosts directly.
- Weipu (9/5): -
- Connor (10/5): - This was a great place to stay. The owners were super kind and helpful. The property is surrounded by nature and is quiet so you can listen to sounds of the animals and ocean. The village is right beside Sandy Beach which makes it easy to watch the sunset at night. Free parking as well. Highly recommend!
- Frank (6/5): I think with a little investment the accommodation could get more shine again... Otherwise it was clean and spacious and - wonderful place on a wonderful beach The complex seems somewhat neglected, left to its own devices...
When we first entered the bungalow, we were always greeted by a musty smell, which only dissipated after thorough ventilation and the use of the fan and air conditioning.
The fridge was very noisy and could not be closed behind the sliding door as it was stuck so tightly that even two people had difficulty opening it. It is especially unpleasant if you have to go out at night.
The pool was closed when we arrived at 7pm and the beautiful beach was unfortunately littered with washed up plastic garbage.
In the end, we were a little disappointed as this was not up to the typical Japanese standard.
- Peter (10/5): Best beach swimming of our lives - We loved the little villa with sea and goat view. The beach was so near and usually deserted. Crystal clear water, shells and coral to marvel at. The rural quiet location was what we love. Car hire essential and provided by our hosts Nobu and Naoko. We were met at the airport and dropped off there - much easier and cheaper than other car hire offers. The friendliest stress free airport I have ever experienced. Quite a drive to the nearest shops but that was part of the charm. We did a big shop at the MaxValu supermarket in the city and cooked mostly for ourselves. Always good to get well away from Ishigaki City.
- Ezequiel (9/5): Quiet, comfortable and clean houses with sea view - Quiet, comfortable and clean houses at Nosoko with sea view. You can walk to the beach and watch sunset from there. Perfect for those that want to stay a bit far from the town and relax. Convenient location around 20 minute drive from the airport. You will need a car to move around.
- Jerome (7/5): Good - Beautiful location with sunset views, private pool and a beach (non-swimmable).
Spacy appartment
The host was very kind and replaced towels everyday Annoying rotating/electric noise coming from the ventilation and you can't turn it off! Keeps you awake at nights.
No salt/pepper/soy sauce or any other spices available for cooking and this place is 30 minutes from the nearest kombini.
A cockroach was in the kitchen..
Beds hard as rock but thats standard in all of japan...
- Monika (9/5): Superb - We had a wonderful stay at Beach Village Nosoko! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed—picked up at the airport and later dropped off at Ishigaki Port, which made everything incredibly easy. The property is beautiful and peaceful, tucked away in a more remote part of the island that feels like a true escape.
We rented a car through them, which gave us the freedom to explore nearby cafes and local restaurants—each stop was a memorable experience, with kind-hearted owners and genuinely warm interactions. In the evening, we enjoyed a relaxed BBQ under the stars, and during the day, we made use of the snorkel gear they provided to explore the nearby beaches.
What truly made our stay special were the amazing owners, who go above and beyond to make you feel at home
- Richard (8/5): Rural, yet very beautiful area with friendly hosts. - The accommodation was very clean and while very rural, the area is beautiful and you can walk to a beach in one minute from your door. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and we even had some locally grown bananas waiting for us when we returned after a day out.
We took advantage of the offer of direct car hire, which meant that we were picked up and taken back to the airport. This was very convenient.
The kitchen is small, with only one hot plate, but it was sufficient for easy breakfasts.
The location is convenient for snorkelling spots like Yonehara beach, as well as the very beautiful Kabira Bay.
The only downside is that it’s 30mins drive from the nearest supermarket, so I’d advise that you stock up to save repeated trips.
- Andrew (9/5): Lovely host and really nice accommodation. - Really great host and very good accommodation. West coast definitely to be recommended. It would have been nice if the swimming pool had been available, but I appreciate that it is early in the season.
- Sabrina (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice location and the house was great! Highly recommended 😊
- Florian (9/5): Very - Cute and comfortable bungalow close to the ocean with a great view, and very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing to complain about.
- Glenn (10/5): Memorable and Recommended! - We stayed for over a week and loved it. The modest beach house was comfortable. We loved the north shore of Ishigaki. The kitchen was small but functional. The washing machine was an added bonus. Clean towels everyday. The WIFI worked fine in the unit. We enjoyed sitting by the pool at the end of the day. We rented a car and were provided with pickup and drop-off. We also rented snorkel gear for nominal price. All in all a great option for the north shore. Best to stock up with provisions in Ishigaki City. Plan ahead.
- Razvan (10/5): Best accomodation in Ishigaki - If we could, we would have given more than 10.
Thank you Nobu San for everything.
The japonese barbecue by the sunset was amazing. Nothing. Thank you for everything.
- Mariya (8/5): Quiet and relaxed location , great for the price - Quiet and peaceful location, beach nearby and pool right next to the apartment. I liked the terrace attached to the house, you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee listening to the sound of birds singing around. All kitchen appliances are available. It’s a little old generally, but clean and tidy enough to be comfortable there. There are no grocery stores or even convenience stores around, so if you plan to cook you need to drive to the downtown for shopping. There are a couple of cafes within walking distance (including one in the main building of the property, open for lunch and dinner hours), but we haven’t tried them.
- Eugenia (9/5): Superb -
- Siobhan (10/5): It was a great place and we will return again. The location was great as it was away from the town. - The rooms were very comfortable ! High ceilings. Great air conditioning. Nothing
- Alexandra (9/5): Superb -
- Sachi (9/5): Superb -
- Catherine (10/5): DREAMY - We had a wonderful 1 week stay! The location was just what we were looking for. Silence and the ocean nearby. The house is very spacious, clean and has everything. They come in the change the towels everyday and fully cleaned once a week. The owners were super kind and available whenever we needed. We rented a car from them at a super friendly price and they picked us and left us at the airport. You can also rent snorkeling gear at a very low price for the whole stay. I totally recommend staying here if you want an experience close to nature. It was a beautiful experience fully immersed in Ishigaki’s nature and beauty.
- Ievgen (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful and at the same time a very quiet location (2 min walk to the beach). Ideal for those who value privacy. Our room had a terrace, where we could dine and enjoy an amazing view of the sea. The accommodation was well-equipped with everything one needs, including a washing machine, which proved especially convenient after returning from the beach. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Nothing to complain. The only minor inconvenience for us was the absence of a nearby grocery store. However, shopping could easily be done in the main city and its surroundings going by a rental car.
- Jenneke (10/5): Exceptional - Clean complete place including a nice shower, swimming pool with perfect view, beautiful beach and all you need for a perfect holiday
- Geoff (8/5): Peaceful remote beach house with lovely hosts - Very relaxed, isolated village. Clean rooms with good kitchen. The owners were very nice and kind. The beach was absolutely trashed when we arrived but we cleaned up 100m with owners and it was pleasant for swimming and beautiful sunsets No wifi in the room. We had to go to the owners’ house for that. Also not much in the way of (open) restaurants… we walked 2.4km twice to one, which was worth it!
- Danielle (10/5): We had a great time and enjoyed the property so much we barely wanted to leave! - Our hosts were amazing and very helpful. Everything one could think of was provided for bathing, cooking, relaxing, laundry. Thoughtful touches included fresh flowers from the garden on the table. Very sweet! It was private and quiet with plenty of room. The added convenience of renting a car, with pickup and drop off was terrific! Especially loved the private outdoor shower! This isn’t a negative, but hot tub in the description does not mean Jacuzzi, rather a Japanese soaking tub in the bathroom.
- Yoko (9/5): Superb -
- Rabie (10/5): my partner and I loved it.. and we will definitely go again -
- Steven (10/5): It was ten days of perfection. I highly recommend it to anyone who visits Ishigaki - It was a perfect tropical paradise setting. The villa was super comfortable and functional, and the owners were delightful- very friendly and welcoming. It was very dark at night and walking to the villa required a flashlight.
- David (10/5): Very supportive owners but you really need access to a car to fully appreciate the island. We rented from Nobu the owner - Well equipped and in a delightful setting.
The sandy beach was very close and often empty. Nothing. I would definitely come again.
- Eoin (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (7/5): Modest, but close to nature and perfect beach nearby - The place is really near the beach, which was mostly empty and it’s a really nice one!
The pool was a nice add-on for a dive after a long day at the beach.
There was a small kitchenette we used for breakfast and laundry machine. The two people we met were nice, but we didn’t have much contact.
As expected, considering it’s a place closer to nature (compared to hotels if you stay at the city center), there were more bugs and ants around. The place was clean, but you could see some ants on the ground. If you’re allergic and get swollen by mosquito bites, be prepared :)
- Nick (9/5): Superb - The largest room of our 4 weeks in Japan. And we stayed in some superior 3 star places! It was a bit out of the way. But we didn't mind that. Best snorkeling on the island a 10 min drive. And an excellent restaurant a mile away.
- Vladimir (9/5): Quite place near best beach with reef full of fish in Ishigaki - Big comfortable house with everything working, Yonehara beach with a reef - National park - with hips of fish you can swim from the beach, no currents or waves, in 8 minute drives from the house. Helpful owners who helped me communicate with car rental in Japanese when me car had troubles. Yonehara beach reef is only swimmable at high tides (before 11 am and after 4 on when I staid). Other local beaches are also very shallow at not really swimmable most of the day (at low tides).
Ishigaki turned out to be quite a small place, not much to see or do, except taking ferry to other small islands to see other reefs/ jungles.
For that it is better to stay the city close to the port.
Also you can truly swim on this
- Kelly (9/5): Fantastic place to unwind. September off-season meant basically private pool, private beach. - Private and chill location. Super mellow and great to unwind. Lovely pool and spectacular beach for walking and swimming. Sea kayaks were easy to get and super fun. You could paddle to the mangrove community within 45 minutes - Absolutely recommend that! The BBQ set was great for dinner. The restaurant tacos, pizza, chorizo, and buffalo wings were excellent.
- Mathieu (10/5): Incredible - Amazing place. We had the white villa with seaview. Every morning we woke up with the beautiful view. The place is absolutely huge and nature all around. Trees, lizards, toads, birds. Comfy beds. A breathtaking beach within a 1 minute stroll. The north side of the island is the most picturesque so this is where you want to be. A rental car is an absolute must when staying here. The owners are incredibly sweet and kind. We really loved it here, thanks so much! 10/10! Nothing
- Tamtravel (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing stay - The staff were very kind.
The closest beach is amazing and most of the time nobody was there.
Also, to have a swimming pool was very refreshing. Nothing, for me all was good.
- Jolin (8/5): Great place to explore ishigaki - The house was very comfortable with a cute porch to sit on. Our house was near the pool which was very comfortable during the warm days. The house has everything you need. Because it is further away from stores and the centre, it is really recommended to rent a car. The lovely lady working here helped us a lot too and was very friendly. It was a great place to stay at and very central to the island if you want to explore it by car. The man working here was very rude to us. He treated us very condescendingly and disregarded what was discussed earlier with his wife. I can only imagine how nasty and confusing that interaction would have been if we did not speak Japanese.
- Irène (9/5): Amazing secluded location in nature - The location of this place is amazing. If you're looking for a stay in nature, a quiet place to relax, then this is a perfect spot. We thought we weren't able to stay here as all the rental cars were gone, but the accommodation arranged a rental car for us, so this was great too. The view from the little house is beautiful and you have a beautiful private garden with terrace and lounge chairs. You can walk to a beach in a couple minutes. The north side of the island is the most beautiful too, so from this location you can easily get to Kabira Bay, beautiful deserted beaches and great snorkeling spots. Nobu San is a fantastic host, thank you for everything! Would stay again for sure. The beds are a little bit too firm for me.
- Brissie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sebastian (8/5): Very good -
