The apartment was very clean and exceeded our expectations , everything you need is supplied . Then the view , just fantastic. We were very lucky with the weather for March , sunny for our five day stay. We really cannot think of anything to say here.

Toilet not flushing properly, located high up on a hill, driving to shops was necessary rather than walking. No heating Inn the bedroom. Central heating timing did not suit us

hayley (7/5): Tiny flat perfect for a mini break - Decore was lovely and modern and good size kitchen . Small and perfectly formed if thoes little things we had problems with are sorted its a perfect tiny flat for a little break Fridge smelt like fish sorry I bleached it twice too. Plates and cutlery wasn't cleaned properly and found dirty makeup pad on floor and radiator in bed room didn't work

Isabel (9/5): Lovely apartment with a lovely view - I stayed in Apartment 1 and absolutely loved the view. Having a little balcony facing the ocean made this place so special and because it was south facing both the living room and balcony got so much light during the day. The wifi speed was pretty good which was a huge bonus as I had some Zoom meetings I had to attend during my stay. Huge smart TV in the living room was great for movie nights. There were quite a few steps which was fine for me but might not be ideal for someone older or with mobility issues.
sue (8/5): We would stay again but not on the top floor. - It was a lovely apartment. We both had a great time. The only downside was our balcony. We had to use a small step to get out of a window to sit outside. Next door to us had a door . Also there were lots of stairs to get to our room , which we had to walk up a few times with all our luggage.

Sue Jane (7/5): Overall it was general okay - It’s Clean Spacious and for Self Catering we had everything we need and more than anything I like the idea of having the Bedroom Separately to the Living Room and had a Key Safe too. It was good to walk to the Beach and Shops which wasn’t far. No Lifts Too many steps on the Stairs ( personally for me as I am disabled) Shower was a bit Small to move around
supes23 (3/5): Great location but poor quality apartment that is dated, smells of damp and uncomfortable beds. - PROS - Great location - Relatively clean room - Good amenities provided included requested cot and high chair CONS - Room clearly has damp and requires work - Most of the building smells of wet dog - Apartment 11 is on the ground floor right next to the road so you will get noise at night - Sofa bed in the living room is not fit for purpose. Mattress is clearly worn and needs replacing - Dated and old furniture - Soulless and faceless management. No consideration for the 'experience'. Clearly run by a large national corporation that likes to cut corners - Overpriced for off peak season
Samantha (7/5): Lovely location, very clean with everything you need. - Apartment 14 was very spacious and clean with a lovely view of the sea. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location was perfect with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits left for us on arrival. We weren’t aware that the balcony wasn’t private and would have several people passing through to access the garden. This meant we had the curtains closed quite abit for privacy and more than one interruption during a peaceful morning looking at the ocean. We also unfortunately had somebody banging and shouting outside at 1am, trying to gain access to our apartment which was abit of a scare. Obviously this isn’t a fault of the hosts but it did dampen our experience somewhat and made us hesitant to unlock the doors and spend time on the balcony.
Parsons (7/5): Pleasant, comfortable and lovely views - I loved the views they was beautiful, and very spacious It was a nice apartment overall, maybe some things could of been a little cleaner, for example when I lifted the bed up to find my lipstick which rolled under their it was really bitty and dusty and could do with a hoover in the harder to see places. The hoovering of the apartment wasn’t brilliant. Also the washing machine .. I tried to use it to wash some of the kids clothes but could not work it out at all as the programmes was all letters but the manual I found didn’t tell you what the letters stood for so struggled with that for quite some time. Overall it was a pleasant stay just some little things above that could have been improved.
Juliet (5/5): Thought I got the sea view area whiich in reality we’re in the ground floor that nothing to see at all not like in the p - The whole property is ok and good. No proper parking area which we are worried to go out by car just in case we can’t get parking in near the property.

The only 1 small thing I would say is that it needs a television in adults bedroom especially if you children sleeping on sofa bed. We couldn’t watch television. Other than that we would definitely stay again 100%.

For the money we spent I’d expect it to be spotless ? But very dusty, dirty toilet and just generally not the cleanest. Plus washing machine wouldn’t work ?
Gemma (7/5): A clean, compact , well equipped apartment , we enjoyed our time in the area - The Apartment was very clean, easy to check in, the host had left some lovely extras for the dog and us, which was lovely . We were close to the prom But it was quiet. The bed was a little uncomfortable and the pillows were thin and lumpy, in the grand scheme not a massive issue , but just could have been better . The apartment also got very hot as the windows did not open much. A fan was left though .
Debarjun (9/5): Iconic property with a breathtaking view - We spent four nights at Astor House with family, and it was an extremely relaxing holiday. The serene views of the sea and the town are something that can only be experienced, not described in words. The balcony was the highlight, but the entire house—especially the open-plan living room—was perfect for unwinding. The property sits on a clifftop, yet the rest of the town, with plenty of restaurants and the beach, is just a 5–10 minute walk away. We truly enjoyed our stay here and are already looking forward to returning. The only downside was the internet, which rarely worked during our stay. However, the breathtaking views more than made up for it, and I didn’t feel the need to chase the owners to fix the Wi-Fi.
Shaun (10/5): I went without my kids and pets for my 50th, which made it a peaceful break away from everything. A lovely getaway that - The apartment was spotless, very well-appointed, and the view was absolutely stunning. A perfect stay. Beautifully modernised old building, spotless and well-appointed apartment with a stunning view.

Mrs Rajni (5/5): Astor House, Torquay — Honest Review I’ve stayed at Astor House twice now — last time in room 15 with no problems at al - I’ve stayed at Astor House twice now — last time in room 15 with no problems at all, and this time in room 17. The bedroom and everything else was lovely, with a stunning sea view that’s definitely the highlight. The welcome coffee, teabags, biscuits, and milk were a nice touch too. mainly the cleanliness and maintenance. The bathroom had stains, no shampoo or body wash was provided, and the fridge had bad stains with the freezer drawer not opening. The shower head drained slowly, and there was no plug in the tub. The patio door didn’t lock, which was a big safety concern with kids. The washing machine in our apartment didn’t work, and the communal one downstairs was often left full by other guests, which was frustrating. Also, the WiFi didn’t work in our room at all during the stay.There were cobwebs in the rooms which was a big safety concern with kids, and the kids’ room window also didn’t lock. Mariam (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely Amazing Stay – Flat 17 is a Dream! From the stunning view to the spotless cleanliness, this apartment had everything we needed and more. The view alone made it hard to leave! It’s family-friendly, comfortable, and truly felt like a home away from home. Easy garden access straight down to the beach such a bonus, especially with kids.We will definitely be coming back and would book Flat 17 again in a heartbeat if we could guarantee it. Highly recommended! The only (very picky) downside was the lack of warning about the stairs, quite a few of them, and the fact that it’s fully carpeted.

Jane (8/5): Comfortable enjoyable stay. Lots of on street parking outside and for us once parked up did not use the car until the da - The location and stunning views from the back terrace. Up a steep hill but we found some steps down to the main area and it gave us good exercise! No washing up liquid, toilet paper just one nearly empty roll. To be fair all easily rectified but for a holiday self contained rental it’s a basic surely? House keeping not very interested when I messaged them. Apartment was cleaned but not very well, more attention to detail and it would have been spot on.

Very quiet too. I wasn't aware that you had to request bedding for the sofa bed and as such, we had to improvise so that myself and my mother had adequate cover.

Erminia (1/5): Overpriced, stay away from it. - Nothing Apartment 1a described as "finished to high standards" - in reality it's just an ordinary, small and claustrophobic apartment set on a 2nd floor with no lift. Not informed about this either so if you have a physical disability this would have ruined your holiday. Bedroom extremely small with barely any space to walk sideways, again, if a person on a bigger size would have been here, it wouldn't have made it to the bed. Curtain on the wall, leaving a 20cm space between wall and window allowing all the light to come through and disrupting your sleep since early hours. Apartment overheated and no possibility to open windows. A small fan was provided but very inefficient as we had a constant 28C inside. Bathroom was very tiny too with rust heater and poor finishing around the shower box allowing the water to leak. Overall an overpriced 2 nights there were not worth it. I would NOT recommend this place at all.

Therougemagpie (9/5): A great room with great views. - The views were amazing and the rooms were clean and tidy. The bathroom was tidy and there were enough towels. A travel cot was kindly provided for us which was perfect for our son and there was a good hairdryer in the room.
