421lawalm (10/5): Great Stay in a Perfect Location - This hotel has a really great location, right between downtown and the lake, so it’s easy to explore both. The place has a nice, creative vibe and also some cool history, which makes the stay feel special. There are museums, food spots, and fun places nearby, all within easy reach. Overall, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

If you’re looking for is the feeling that you’re in a jail cell with no light and 7 foot tall ceilings. This is the place for you. Additionally, you get TVs with wires hanging out all over from them that look like spaghetti sticking out of the wall with no furniture. You looked through American Express that says you should get an upgrade when you arrive, when you arrive, you can see clearly on their website that all room types are available, and they will tell you that you have to pay for an upgrade, even though it is part of the American Express hotel collection benefits. This hotel should not be considered in any way. I would rather stay at a motel six. The air-conditioning in the room did not work. The people did not care that these were problems.

Kimberley (4/5): HoJo quality for boutique prices - Central. Lovely views My room had mold in the bathroom. I asked for it to be remedied while I was out and they gave it a quick surface cleaning. You could see that this section of the door had had frequent mold issues. The shower dripped non-stop and the open design meant that it took two towels to soak up the water spilling out while showering. The quick wipe down didn’t keep the mold from returning the next day. I reminded staff on checkout that they should fix the dripping and the mold before another guest arrived but I noticed she didn’t type that in or write it down. My friend was first given a room that stank of pot and the stink got worse when the a/c was turned on.

Bed was hard and uncomfortable. The staff was absolutely fantastic; friendly, professional, kind. The staff at the restaurants/bars made our experience. Uncomfortable bed, no fan/vent in bathroom, gym was small/ overcrowded.
Destination814918 (2/5): Dirty rooms lacks oversight - My corporate office in right around the corner and my wife wanted to go to a concert figured I’d give this place a chance to see if it would be the hotel we would use for corporate trainings of all our employees and boy did it disappoint. I only ask for clean and what we got 759 BTW was unacceptable. When I brought this up they offered a free breakfast and to comp the resort fees not let’s put you in a different room. I wasn’t even going to do a review but I think ownership needs to know that quality control for the hotel is lacking and this always comes from the top.hospitality is just that be hospitality own your mistake and fix them. Put put a product that is worth the money your change for it

After one night in a city facing room we were able to upgrade to a river facing room for a small upcharge. everyone at the front desk were very helpful. Quick response with items run up to the room that we needed. Had a great meal and service at P6 our first night. All the staff in the outlets in the hotel were very friendly. Enjoyed our four nights ,thanks!

Sunshine26823524914 (4/5): Stay somewhere else - I was disappointed that this hotel did not deliver on what was advertised. While the location was convenient, the room itself was really disappointing - it was visibly dirty and poorly maintained. For example, there appeared to be a large coffee or wine stain next to the bed, along with noticeable dirt and grime on the tables (photos attached). Service was also underwhelming. The front desk staff, in particular, came across as unenthusiastic and not especially welcoming. To be fair, the pricing was reasonable, and my expectations were aligned with that. However, basic cleanliness and a baseline level of service should still be a given. The pool area was another letdown. It’s overcrowded and not particularly relaxing. Its proximity to an overpass made it noisy, with frequent traffic sounds and honking that took away from the experience. Overall, I would not choose to stay here again.

After 2 trips to the front desk 4 pieces of identifying information I’m waiting 20 minutes and counting for my medication I had mailed here. We rented 15 rooms here for several days. Other people in our party had issues as well. Checking and thin walls. Several thousand dollars. Spent will not be back

My initial room had some noise issues that were unable to be remedied without a room change. Sadly for that first night, the hotel was sold out and I had to wait until the next day to get a room change. Thankfully the manager, Poya was able to find me a suitable replacement. While the initial issue was disappointing, I appreciate that he made good on the situation and his professionalism and empathy went a long way to make sure my continued stay was excellent. Problem is that it’s an old building and they haven’t done sound proofing, and you literally hear every car that drives past the hotel all night long. There is zero chance of getting any restful sleep at this property until they invest in soundproof windows. Until then, no way will I stay there again. We complained to the manager about the noise and were told this is just city noise, to which I would highly disagree. I have never been to a 4 star city hotel and had no sleep. The first night felt as if we were in a night club and the second night a fast and furious movie. I am super disappointed with this hotel experience and very tired.

The pool area is nice, restaurants, and coffee bar all really cool. However it’s clear the budget for this hotel stops at the rooms. Small, dated, beaten up, and just overall odd. Who needs incense burners in a hotel room? Rooms are bare bones and lack much thought- only one plug on the nightstand for charging phones for a room with 2 beds???? Toliet sucked and ran forever, even after multiple calls and trips from maintenance. Worst part was a wedding that went on in the hotel till after 12AM. When paying such a high sticker price for a property, you expect that after 10PM that you will be able to get a good night’s rest. Well forget about that at this hotel. Music and bass thumped so loudly I felt like I was in a nightclub in my room. Overall, stay here for nice public spaces and to be “seen” at a trendy hotel. Don’t expect to get a good night’s rest or a comfortable well appointed room.

You can tell it was trendy at one point but is now past its prime. The beds were low, the air conditioning was loud and there was a musty smell in the room.

Tacos in the lobby were fabulous but takeout style, which is fine. I think it's a separate business, which makes sense since nothing else was nice. As soon as you head to the room...all downhill. As soon as you get off the elevator, it smells musty like the carpet needs to be ripped up. The room isn't much better. The beds are so low to the ground...literally below my knee...on a wooden platform with no box spring. Uncomfortable beds as well. While I didn't see any signs of bugs or anything, I felt itchy. Everything looks cheap like decorations came from IKEA. I kept hearing loud sounds behind the wall like mechanical...over and over every few minutes. It got annoying so I called the front desk and they said it's the AC units on the roof, and offered me earplugs. Hotel was full so couldn't change rooms. I didn't want to sleep there but it was too late. I'll never ever stay again. I was embarrassed that I chose the hotel because my manager also stayed there for our work trip. She'll probably never want me to choose a hotel again. Awful experience. There's no way that's a 4 star hotel. 3 stars would be super generous. I'd give it a 2.5 max. Everything about it was awful except the tacos and bathroom soap/lotion products.

The staff could have been friendlier. Good at check in but otherwise disappointing. We weren't even asked if we enjoyed our stay at check out. Would have expected better customer service. More hanging space for towels would be good especially in family rooms.
FarAway36601692047 (4/5): Don’t stay at The Line!! - I was so thrilled to try a new hotel in Austin as I’ve stayed at so many others and we were there for a family wedding. Thankfully, I I paid $35 extra to upgrade the room because if I would not have paid that it would’ve been even more of dungeon than it already was. There were stains all in the carpet and the room smelled like mold. I tried very hard to like this hotel because the lobby was so wonderful. Then, to my dismay, I go to put my sunglasses on this morning and they are nowhere to be found. I sent my aunt a text message asking her if she accidentally happened to take them and she told me that unfortunately hers were missing as well. When I went to discuss it with the front desk. All they did was had me speak to someone insecurity, and they said that they were going to file a claim, and then it was no longer in their hands. Not only will I NEVER stay at your hotel again, I will make sure I tell people to not stay there.

I've had bed bugs a couple times in Vegas and want to make sure I don't have that same problem and anxiety after a hotel stay EVERY again. I did my due diligence on Trip Advisor and found glowing reviews for this location and decided to book a room. When we arrived, I checked my mattress like I always do. All good. My friend however, had a few rust stains on her AKA blood from a bed bug's victim. We went downstairs to tell the front desk and were given a room on a different floor. Went into the second room and the mattress was even WORSE. My friend now was TOTALLY freaked out and wanted to leave the hotel. We went to the front desk and was told we would need to speak to a manager. Manager came over, didn't make eye contact with us and typed on her computer for about 5 mins. After all that she said that my reservation had been cancelled, and my card won't be charged. No apology nothing........
Mindyyy (8/5): Great location- everything else was average - We came here for the Austin marathon weekend, and as a runner in the race the location is prime. The location was perfect to the start/finish and even the expo. However, everything else was very much average- which is kind of unfortunate for how expensive everything is. The hotel is older, just updated with a face lift. I wish I would have looked into this more before booking, but no fridge or microwave in the room. We also celebrated valentines dinner at arlo grey restaurant, we did their special tasting menu, and they didn’t tell us that it was all shared portions but still $99 a person! Overall, the only thing we appreciated was the prime location of where the race happenings were.

We caught a flat tire while in the valet parking lot. Brandon made sure we got air in our tire and even recommended a great tire shop in the area! Service was a 10/10! The staff really made our 1st time in Austin a great one!

heidimF9455QW (6/5): Funky and Weird..even for Austin - Location was amazing, atmosphere was fun and funky. Loved the toy horse in the room, the Palo santo on the bedside table, and the pool. The room had some super weird stuff I just couldn't get past. The bathroom lights were so unbelievably dim. They know this so they have makeup mirrors you can get by request, but they were not bright enough either. Worst part, though, is the shower is completely open to the rest of the bathroom. No shower door, no curtain. So the entire floor gets wet, as well as the bathroom sink. It would have been even worse if I was sharing the room...more than one person showering would have meant a totally soaked bathroom. Also the rooms have very little noise proofing. I could hear the guy across the hall singing in his wide-open shower several times, and lots of loud traffic noise all night.
xcaldwell87 (4/5): Old and smelly, not worth the money. - This hotel was a let down. It looks ran down and dirty. Most surfaces and walls are badly painted or chipped. The ventilation system must be very old because the room smelled stale and the air was stagnant. The wall paper looks like it was installed badly and is peeling off. The carpet in the room was old and it smelled awful. At check out they plastered us with over 100 dollars worth of fees and taxes. The elevator was next to our room and we could here it very loudly all night. Being located so close the freeway it was also very noisy from the traffic. Over all this was way too expensive for what we got. Will never stay here again.

One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because it has a terrace, but It was closed exactly the day I was there. So I was disappointed. Another thing I noticed was the 3 baristas on the coffee shop were so unfriendly and mad all the time. They are not customer service people really. The happy hour resto did not served any kind of snack or food. Disappointed again. ☹️ Other than that beds were comfortable and hotel was clean. The reception’s guy and valet parking Argentinian guy were super friendly and helpful. I am not sure if I will go back to the hotel.
545jaclyny (4/5): Not the Experience We Remember — Noticeable Decline - We’ve stayed at The Line several times over the years and always chose it for its design, atmosphere, and hospitality. Unfortunately, our recent stay (January 17–19, 2026) marked a noticeable decline in both service and condition. Check-in was unwelcoming and transactional. We asked about a possible room upgrade (something we’ve received on prior visits), but the request was cut short and never revisited. There was no warmth or engagement from the front desk, which immediately dampened what was meant to be a celebratory stay. Once in the room, several issues arose. The television did not work and required two calls to the front desk, with roughly a 35-minute wait for resolution. The in-room safe failed due to dead batteries while I was retrieving valuables, requiring maintenance and security intervention and additional waiting time. The bed and pillows were also extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to sleep. The overall property felt run down compared to our stays from 2019–2021. Wallpaper seams throughout the hotel were peeling or bubbling, and spaces like P6 felt stripped of the character and comfort that once made them special. Decorative details and seating we remembered fondly were gone, leaving the atmosphere flat and uninspired. Guest services were equally disappointing. When we called valet on Sunday to have our car brought around, the response was curt, simply stating valet was “first come, first serve,” with no prior communication of this policy and no attempt at courtesy or accommodation. We chose The Line because it once stood out for thoughtful design and genuine hospitality. This stay fell short in service, comfort, and overall experience. We hope management takes this feedback seriously, as it no longer reflects the hotel we once loved.
Mariana (9/5): So fun and a lot of nightlife - I loved the pool and the great tacos and food places right outside that were literally right on the property and the bar on the rooftop to see bats was amazing! The only thing we had issues with was our key cards, for some reason it had automatically turned off and we went to the front desk. They told us it was fine and good to go, but when we had gotten back to our room, the key cards were still not working so then we decided to go get food and when we came back, the card started working.

A great value. I would highly recommend!
kwesih2016 (10/5): Exceptional Service and a Perfect Austin Stay - My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend at The Line Hotel in Austin, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. The front desk clerks were professional and warm, the valet drivers were efficient and courteous, and every interaction felt thoughtful rather than transactional. The restaurant staff delivered excellent service, and the room cleaners maintained everything to a high standard without ever being intrusive. Even the bell staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was smooth and stress free. You can tell this hotel takes pride in doing things the right way and treating guests with respect. Without question, The Line is now our number one go to hotel in Austin, and we will absolutely be staying here again.
Flyer360517 (4/5): Wanted to like The Line BUT… - My partner and I stayed overnight at The Line as we were at we were attending and co-hosting an event at The Four Seasons. In retrospect, we should've just stayed at FS however we thought the Line looked fun and boutique-ish. Room was not bad, bigger than we expected. View was nice. BUT, ether TV (2) worked even after maintenance came to look at it. Phones didn't work either when I tried to call down to report issue. Maintenance said it was a network issue and IT would need to be contacted. Never heard back from either. At checkout the next morning, the front desk did offer a minimal credit fora courtesy (which was fine but minimal). However, upon returning home and working on an expense report I noticed I was charged incorrectly for ‘mini bar-liquor’ that we definitely DID NOT use. In fact, we DID NOT use any item from the minibar. Upon noticing I emailed a manager at The Line and explained politely we expected the charge to be reversed - STILL NO RESPONSE a week later. Seriously, no response. I also messaged The Line’s social media teams via Instagram and Facebook - and also NO RESPONSE. So, the erroneous charge still remains but needs to be removed. As of today, no response from 3 different avenues. My advice to readers of the review is BUYER BEWARE if risking a stay at The Line. Subpar services and then no response to incorrect charges are insane in this day and age. I plan to follow up on this via all channels as this is poor customer service

Talia514 (2/5): Not worth the hype. - I had a truly disappointing stay at The Line Hotel in Austin. The hotel is extremely dark — even with every light on, I could barely see any detail in the bathroom. The rooms themselves are basic and lack comfort. Despite specifically requesting a quiet room, I was placed just two doors down from the elevator. It was so loud that I couldn’t sleep and had to switch rooms in the middle of the night. The “solution” was a room next to the ice machine, and with the paper-thin doors, the noise issue barely improved. While the staff apologized, it felt more like a formality than genuine concern. The pool is lovely, but absolutely not worth sacrificing a good night’s sleep. Overall, the experience was frustrating and underwhelming. I won’t be returning.

I had to call the hotel from my mobile to reach the front desk/guest services to get extra hangers and towels. Secondly, the lighting in the bathrooms is HORRIBLE! Way too dark! There is definitely not enough drawer space... just a 2 drawer cubby-like piece of furniture. Also, the beds are extremely low... and the mattress felt lumpy.

158gwenk (2/5): No coffee, no breakfast before 7am - If you want coffee before 7am, the front desk tells you to go out the front door, go to the stoplight, cross 6 lanes of busy traffic and walk another block, then go up to the 2nd floor of the JW Marriott to find coffee at their Starbucks. Hmmm...seems like the hotel management might want to rethink that directive to their guests. Just get a simple complimentary coffee set up like many hotels have. And, if want breakfast food, nothing is available till 7am also. In all my travels in this country and across Europe, I've never had this experience. We checked out and went to the JW Marriott...which was a great experience
Madison (9/5): Love The LINE Austin! - We were in town for a wedding and The LINE was the perfect respite from the events! The room was large with a gorgeous view, and the pool and access to the waterfront was perfect for early risers and active people. I wish we had had more time to take advantage of the bikes and hang by the pool! I have also heard their more formal restaurant is excellent but did not get the chance to try. Staff was absolutely lovely and allowed an early check-in :) Added bonus - the coffee in the lobby and the attached taco joint were both excellent! There was a long wait for tacos (Veracruz) one of the days we were there - would have been helpful if the staff gave us a heads up that we could place online orders to pickup :)
W3920NOtonyv (4/5): Insanely too cold - For the most part the hotel is really nice, but this week it has been a little cold in Austin, and the hotel absolutely can’t handle it. My room has been viscerally cold like uncomfortably freezing. The heater doesn’t do anything substantive at all. I talked with the front desk, and they gave me an extra light blanket that makes no difference. I’ve been here with my company before when it’s been fine, but it’s only 45 degrees outside and this place is borderline uninhabitable it’s so cold.

My son’s arrived and were able to check in on the night and sleep in their bedroom but the following night they were refused entry to the hotel as they did not have my bank card with them. They were kept in reception for two hours on my son’s birthday and finally plucked up the courage to call me at 5 o’clock in the morning British time . Unfortunately, I’ve got no further with this and I’m very disappointed in the way they were treated . Maybe after reading this message the hotel might contact me????

207hl (6/5): Charming by day, chintzy by night - A stay at the Line feels a like a weekend in a share house in the Hamptons or Carmel-by-the-Sea. You spend your day appreciating the prime location, the pool deck, the good coffee, and the excellent tacos, and then you spend your night under a cheap duvet that can’t cover your feet and your chin at the same time, praying that everyone goes to bed soon because your door does nothing to mute the conversations in the hall and adjoining rooms.
590kittyp (10/5): Overall experience, very good - We were in town for a friend’s daughters wedding which took place at The Line. It was a short 2 night trip. We had a double queen Lakeview room. Wonderful view. The beds were a little low to the ground, but were very comfortable. The rooms were clean, however housekeeping came to our room on our second day in the late afternoon while we were getting ready for the wedding. We told them what time we were leaving the room. Unfortunately they never returned. We had to request additional towels and coffee for our last day. Our room was ready when we arrived a little before 3pm. Our room was spacious but lacked sufficient draw and closet space. My only complaint was there was no onsite resturant that served breakfast. There was coffee shop that sold pastries and yogurt. The wedding venue was beautiful and most convenient being just steps away from our room. Check in and check out we’re easy. We were able to store our luggage while we explored Austin before our late evening flight. Our overall experience was very good.
