- Kevin (10/5): Great friendly hotel with excellent service all round - My and my wife stayed here for our 21st wedding anniversary and had a lovely warm welcome from all the staff we came into contact with. Our room was large and spacious and very clean with a lovely large bathroom. We had a great nights sleep and a very comfortable bed which they had put petals on our bed and some staff wished us happy anniversary. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and was cooked beautifully and plenty of it. Our breakfast was a continental and cooked welsh one and all was prepared to high standard. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend staying here.

- Jan (10/5): Beautiful location, beautiful hotel with excellent facilities and hospitality. - I had a very spacious superior room. Was very happy to have a large bathtub. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Excellent breakfast selection using high quality, local ingredients. Cereals, pastries, fruit, etc were buffet style but the cooked options were delivered to your table - not the dreaded hot buffet that is becoming increasingly common. The walk from the car park to reception involved two sets of steps, one of which was quite steep and difficult to negotiate with luggage. Any guest with mobility problems who is not travelling alone should be dropped off at the front of the hotel before the car is taken to the car park.

- BobandMaggie60 (8/5): Good base if in area. - We chose this hotel to visit the area and found it to be a very good base. Rooms are very comfortable but suffer from noise from creaky floor boards and traffic if at the front of the building. The restaurant is very good providing a great choice of meals especially when the à la carte menu is available . We enjoyed the sharing platter cheese and charcuterie board offer found in the wine menu to be an excellent choice. Staff are friendly and efficient. Explore the town as there are some interesting independent shops hidden away from the street the hotel is on.

- Rhian (10/5): Brilliant - go and stay here! - We stayed on a quiet Sunday night. There were loads of menu choices and the food was plentiful & delicious . All the staff were very helpful & friendly and happy to help with luggage as no lift. Llandeilo is a nice town with plenty of things to see /do nearby. Not much really! There are lots of steps - from car park and inside the hotel , but everyone goes out of their way to make sure you’re ok.
- Alison (8/5): Relaxing, delightful break away from real liofe. - The staff are so friendly, welcoming and cheerful. the food is good and the atmosphere is warm and calm. I was in a room at the front and it was very noisy with commercial bin collections and deliveries at 5 in the morning on both days I was there.
- Jon-Paul (10/5): Best stay in ages! - Honestly, everything was amazing! Room was perfect. Clean, nice size, comfiest bed I have slept in for ages! Reception staff were fantastic. Food in the restaturant was superb. Staff in the restaturant and bar were great, especially when I had a hypo with my diabetes and they quickly got me some sugary drinks to resolve and checked up on me a couple of times during the meal. Couldn't ask for more. Only thing I didn't like was that I was only staying for one night! I could have stayed for much longer. So definitely will be back.

Stayed in laugharne which was very spacious, large bath and shower. Really comfortable bed. Breakfast was also really good quality. Nothing.

Plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurts and pasties available, followed by a good selection for cooked offerings. Parking was available, be aware that if you are in a large vehicle, it is very tight to turn into - we managed (very carefully) in an SUV though. Parking is available, but there are many steps down to the front of the property - Just to be aware of if you have mobility issues. This is clearly mentioned in the hotel details though, so we did expect it.

Very grateful that I could borrow a mobile phone charger and check out a little bit later Nice room but a few downsides - toilet didn't flush really well, gargling/bubbling sound in the sink and a machine type noise from somewhere. No lift - I realise it's a listed building but walking 4 sets of stairs was a lot. Staff - very disappointed that most of the staff didn't speak Welsh, only one did out of every member of staff I saw. Breakfast - when I'm paying for breakfast I don't expect to have to do my own coffee or toast. The cups for tea and coffee were very small, if you had a coffee pot on the table it would be better. Juice glasses very small too. Car park - Access from and to the car park isn't acceptable - the stairs etc. What about people with mobility problems and disabled people? It was good that I could park outside to unload/load.

We were in the front on the main road and there was traffic on and off all night, it is a listed building so unfortunately there is not a lot they can do about it.

- Millie024 (10/5): Another enjoyable short break - We have stayed at the Cawdor several times and always enjoy it. Situated in the centre of Llandeilo, it makes a lovely gracious base to enjoy the town and the surrounding area. In front of the hotel is a useful pull in bay so your luggage can be unloaded, before driving up Bank Buildings to the large car park. Access to the hotel is then down several flights of stairs, a challenge for those who struggle to walk. Reception is staffed by charming, helpful ladies, who engage pleasantly with the guests. As it is an old, historic building there is no lift, and it is quite a struggle to get up even to the first floor, for the less able. However, we had a lovely room, with a splendid en suite, and were very comfortable. The lounge is also very comfortable, with squashy leather sofas, and easy access to the bar. In keeping with the traditional, courteous feel of the hotel, your coffees are brought to your seat. The restaurant staff will go out of their was to enable guests with food intolerances and special diets to enjoy eating there. We thought the food was nice. In some other hotels, hotel staff give you the impression that they think they are doing you a huge favour even to look at you, which they would prefer not to do. At the Cawdor, they know the meaning of service to their guests, and ensure that all the staff buy in to this . We shall look forward to our next visit. Excellent to find somewhere without routine piped music, too.
- Alison (7/5): A good hotel if you are visiting the Brecon Beacons. - The room was spacious and well appointed. The bathroom had a marvellous bath tub and separate shower. The room where we had breakfast is clearly an event space and it lacked atmosphere as a dining room which is a shame because it is a lovely old coaching inn. The breakfast was very pleasant - very nice natural yoghurt. On our second night, we had dinner at the Cawdor and it was absolutely excellent - delicious - just cottage pie - but very well done with a rich gravy and well cooked vegetables. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Parking was excellent and secure. The hotel is right in the centre of Llandeilo and it is a charming town to visit. Water provided and replenished. Very nice cups and saucers for tea in the bedroom (compared with the awful glass see through mugs in the breakfast room.) Unfortunately, the room was very, very hot. Despite opening the windows and the radiators being off, the heating was obviously coming from an underfloor source and hadn't been turned off although it was very warm outside. I can imagine in the winter, it would be lovely and warm in the rooms but we were so hot we couldn't sleep. The pillows are past their sell by date - an easy fix to replace. The mattress was ok but clearly nearing the end of its life. A topper could help.

Great vibe in the bar, nice place to be. Breakfast awesome. Happy to come back again 😊 Nothing, I am a simple soul, and everything was spot on.

- MRSGL86 (6/5): Nice Hotel - This Hotel is in a brilliant Location, with plenty of shops and cosy pubs/cafes around, which were all so welcoming. Good car park around the park, which was ideal. The room was lovely and clean and the bed was extremely comfy, however you could hear a lot of road noise, we could hear next doors TV when that was on, luckily this didn't stop us from sleeping. Hotel was good value for money. We didn't have food or drinks here as it was really busy. We did encounter a very rude guest, which i know is not the hotels fault, however when your checking in or waiting for a table in the restaurant its all at the same desk, hence why i have an encounter with another guest, because i just wanted to check in and they wanted their table for their meal. All staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Ideal for a couples night away.

Dinner in the restaurant was amazing. My only "negative" is the portions were so large we couldn't manage dessert. Breakfast the following morning also exceptional.

- Passenger51850022570 (10/5): Superb Stay!! - Stayed in Brenin, one bed apartment for 2 nights, photos don't do this apartment justice, large living room/kitchenette with vaulted ceiling, huge sofa, aircon, table and chairs and smart tv. Lovely large bathroom with twin sinks and adjustable twin headed shower, robes and luxury toiletries. On to the bedroom with vaulted ceiling, again huge room with comfy arm chairs and padded stools, another large smart tv, extremly comfortable super king bed, black out curtains and very well soundproofed. Would highly recommend the Cawdor Hotel supremely good value for money very friendly professional staff, food was also excellent even had separate gluten free menu. Weather was awful when we went so couldn't take advantage of outdoor court yard seating area but must be lovely in the summer months. Once again thank you to all staff for make our stay so relaxing. - 661neills (10/5): Great hotel, great staff, and great food. - Good location although the car park is a challenge to find and get into due to its location on a small one way street. The hotel is charming, staff were excellent, and our room was spacious, clean, and had an amazing bathroom. The food was extremely good, again with good service, and very good value. All in all highly recommended
- Bigt444 (10/5): Cawdors llandeilo - Had a very pleasant stay in the Cawdor Llandeilo . Food was excellent including the breakfast stayed in the Talley room romantic 4poster comfortable bed they also had a Tesla charger which was great value £20 overnight charge
- lesleycQ4552UN (8/5): Lovely stay, inefficient receptionist at check in - This was the first time my husband and I stayed overnight at the Cawdor. Most of the staff were lovely, very accommodating. The receptionist who took our payment at check in didn’t do her job efficiently though, as on check out I was presented with a bill which included the amount I had paid at check in the previous day. The receptionist at check in had merely taken my money and hadn’t allocated it to any room. Not very efficient or professional. The food was beautifully cooked, well presented and very tasty. The bedroom and bathroom was very spacious, clean and thoughtfully decorated.

- sharmanv2016 (8/5): Funeral Tea - The Cawdor have outstanding chips. Sandwiches were truly delicious. Welsh rarebit tarts - mouth watering. After needing to arrange a funeral tea I looked on TripAdvisor for a suitable venue. Not being a local resident. I looked at various menus of several places. The Cawdor stood out. After contacting their Events department I had specific requests which were all met. The Chef came up with a menu that suited the occasion at a reasonable price. Including freshly brewed coffee and pots of tea. Their staff were helpful but not at all intrusive. Totally sympathetic to the occasion. As there was food leftover they kindly provided take-away boxes. Everyone in attendance agreed "they did a lovely spread".

In the evening we booked a table in the bar area & I had the mussels, which were lovely. Breakfast the next morning was good with a la carte menu & plenty of toast & pastries to help your self from the table

- rogerj739 (10/5): Excellent - Stayed here two weeks on the run for training course, lovely hotel with a lovely welcome , carpark available but a few steps so not really for disabled, but local carpark not far away at only £1:75 per day great value. Staff lovely as was the food & the rooms definitely recommend

- Hugo (10/5): Great Place! - Stayed here to attend a wedding nearby and I have no complaints. The room was clean and well put together, I had no issues getting into the building when returning late that night, the breakfast was good, and the checkout process was easy. N/A

- ashrafmzaman (8/5): Pleasant Stay - We had a fabulous stay for a couple of nights. Parking was convenient, the staff were helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, which were faultless. Our only criticism was that the mattress dipped and was lumpy when lying down. Aside from this issue, it was a perfect stay.

The room on the second floor was lovely, food was great, cocktails were great, staff were great and the overall experience was fantastic. B&B with a two course meal for two was £179. Excellent value. Extra mention. For Leah- waitress who was there at dinner and breakfast, a true credit to The Cawdor, polite, went above and beyond.
- Amanda (9/5): Comfy, central, pretty place for coffee - As the hotel was quiet I was given a free upgrade to a bigger room on a lower floor. Bed was comfy, spacious powerful shower, breakfast included. Lovely ambience in the lounge and bar, lots of fairy lights. Great central location, a flat walk from shops and pubs, although most weren’t open due to stormy weather. No lift, and a lot of stairs, which I struggled with! I had breakfast 2 mornings and after each had very bad stomach pangs. On the second day the same fruit was out and was going off. Accommodation not as luxurious as the public lounge but had everything needed.

- 984ursulab (10/5): Well recommended for welcome. comfort and food - Warm welcome, friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of choice for breakfast, and meal provided for our special event was excellent. What a chef! Room was comfortable and warm, though the mattress was too firm for my liking. if needed necessary electrical goods were provided - iron and board, hairdryer and fan. Adequate drinks tray and choice of beverages, plus flagon of water.
- P2026KBcherylj (10/5): Wonderful 5star experience - We celebrated my husband’s 8th birthday in the Cawdor and it was fantastic .i can’t rate the staff and chef highly enough ! The food was excellent for 85 people . Highly recommend for a Meal or stay or function .
- Hywel-Jo (2/5): Don't bother. There's no welcome in these hillsides - I have stayed there previously with our dogs & despite the Cawdor being comprehensively advertised as dog friendly, it's not. Bizzarely, neither is the carpark for use by customers despite having parked in there numerous times before. This then leaves you with the option or trawling around the town to find a parking space and having to pay for it! So in a nutshell if you're planning to bring your dogs or get free parking go elsewhere. I will be from this point onwards.
