• Chen-Yu (9/5): I WILL COME BACK AGAIN! - The overall experience was very good. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shared space felt cozy. Maybe it was because the hostel was less than half full during my stay, which allowed me to enjoy it even more. The only concern I had was that there were only two shower rooms. I can’t imagine how crowded or busy it would get when the hostel is fully booked.

• Belinda (10/5): I had a fabulous stay as hotel was between train station & old town. Very convenient to go anywhere. - At first I was a bit concern of noise and privacy, This was not an issue at all. I can't hear the rest of the folks coming back late at night, and I met many helpful occupants who shared on food and travel destinations. All the staff I met was super friendly. May be an emergency handphone can be provided for after hours in case occupants need help.

• Amber (8/5): A nice stay for 4 nights - Spacious, modern bunks. Fairly close to train station, very close to lots of restaurants/bakeries/the old town. While they do clean every day, the top floor bathroom smelled a lot of pee. There was also a lot of hair on the ground in the dorm rooms and stairwell.

• Julie (8/5): Lits confortables mais impossible de se reposer le matin - Les lits sont très confortables. Il y a deux toilettes, deux douches, deux espaces lavabo, une cuisine, un salon. Il est possible d'utiliser la machine à laver pour 500Y, mais le séchage se fait sur un étendoir dans la cour. Il est possible de contrôler l'air conditioner de la chambre. Il est aussi possible de laisser sa valiser avant et après le check out de façon sécurisée. L'homme qui m'a accueillit a été très agréable et serviable, je le remercie de m'avoir aidé avec ma valise dans les escaliers. Les femmes qui font le ménage commençaient avant même l'heure du check out, à 9h ou 9h30 selon le jour, et faisaient énormément de bruit, notamment parce qu'elle hurlaient dans les chambres et à travers toute la guesthouse pour communiquer. Impossible de se reposer convenablement dans ces circonstances, j'ai trouvé ça vraiment irrespectueux. Je trouvais aussi dommage de ne pas pouvoir profiter du salon en journée car souvent le staff y tenait des réunions.

• andréas (10/5): THE spot in Takayama, without any doubt ! - Greatest spot of my trip in Japan so far. I don't even know where to start : - the owners were adorable, they can assist you in making a bus reservation, they are open to chat with you and care about your comfort and experience in Takayama. They didn't say anything to me when I booked out a little bit later than expected... - There are many things for the clients like green tea, cups and kitchenware. Very useful. - The beds and rooms are clean and comfy. - The commons areas are really cool and it's very easy to meet new people. I personally really enjoyed my stay here, I met a few others solo travellers whom I went to a nearby restaurant with. - The hostel is not too close the historical neighbourhoods and the station, but close enough to get there by foot ; which makes it quiet at night but still practical. - The hostel itself is well decorated and chill, with a little patio. The vibe is really something else, but you have to try it to feel it ! the rooms tends to gets hot when it's full but the owner will rise the AC for you.

• Mentari Mentari (8/5): Good value for money! - Seamless check in and check out. A good value for money. 7 Eleven is 5 minute walk. Very convenient! The room is adequate and pretty for us 3 and our 3 suitcases + 4 backpacks. It gets the work done. There's a pretty indoor garden too, but since it's winter, I don't really get the chance to enjoy it as it's really cold... The common amenities are good too! The toilet, or lack thereof? Mind that there's only 1 toilet and 2 showers here, (and maybe another 1 toilet labelled "staff only" if I'm not mistaken) When we're here, there's only 7 people including us so it pose no problem. But maybe it will be when the rooms are fully booked. Keep it in mind!

• WongWF (10/5): Loved my stay at Cup of Tea! - Loved the cosiness of the dorm/bed and that there was a small space beside the bed to put items. The bed area, toilets and common facilities were clean and well kept. There was a sitting space downstairs for people to eat and chill and it was just a very comfortable 2 nights! Location is walking distance to the main old town area and Hie shrine and also walkable (about <1km) to the bus terminal I had problems finding the location at first because my maps wasnt bringing me to the correct place, but I coincidentally asked for directions from a staff on her way to the hostel and she brought me with her! She also recommended me her favorite ramen when asked and it was satisfying!
• Hang Hong (9/5): I would come back again! - Everything was very good - clean, comfortable beds, and great location. All facilities were available. Staff are friendly. Like most japanese buildings, it is not as well insulated, so it can be cold. Having the AC/thermopump helped, but it took a while, and the beds above are hotter than the beds at the lower level of the room.
• Terence (9/5): - It is an extremely reasonable priced for a recently modeled hostel. The staff that helped me check in was helpful and answered lots of questions that I had. It is also near a sento (public house) so it can be good to warm up during the cold winter nights in Takayama. In the shared room, the upper level beds are nearly 3m (10 feet) high and unlike the bottom beds, do not have any storage space underneath the bed. The corridor is relative narrow so someone in the upper bed with a suitcase doesn't have space to open and pack their bags. Although well stocked, the refrigerator and kitchen is relatively small. Also, the common area is limited to about 6 chairs.

• Ensinck (8/5): Perfect for 1-2 night trip - Really close to the bus-train station and to the old town. The place look new and well equipped. There's not always staff, especially at night. But that's common in Japan; it's just that if you have a problem, there's no one to turn to.

Had access to the other cup of tea hotel's lounge which was nicer and bigger than the one at this hostel. Lounge was small for amount of people. Expensive, but likely due to the fesitival. Not enough showers sometimes for all the guests but was busier maybe due to the festival.

• WAN TING (9/5): 整體來說不錯。 - 自助式入住/退房，期間完全沒看到工作人員 雖然是青旅的一格床位，但私人空間非常大不會有壓迫感 床墊躺起來非常舒適 雖然廁所跟浴室都各只有兩間，但沒遇過需要排隊等候的狀況 旅舍的對面有湯屋，價格便宜 進入前需要更換旅舍拖鞋 要爬到上鋪床位的樓梯只有一個設計在中間，不易上下樓梯下，如果要搬運行李更是困難。
