Guest Reviews
- SteveB (10/5): - Such beautiful and comfortable accommodation set in a charming and charter filled building. Will definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed in single room. Smallish, but comfortable. Hand basin in room and clean showers and toilets a few meters away accessed by an external balcony. Good quality meals downstairs in the pub. No onsite parking, You can park in the main street out the front or in the supermarket carpark out the back. Very good as an overnight stop for the price
- Dave (10/5): - Great value and exactly as described. Helpful & friendly staff
- Jeffrey (10/5): A tale of two rooms - The pub is fantastic- great food, staff and quality feel 10/10.
The rooms are great value. I stayed here twice within a week.
First night- a double room with great aircon, tv, fresh milk, bar fridge, comfy bed, wine glasses, electric blanket
second night- single bed. Unfortunately the aircon didn't work so well, no wine glasses but otherwise ok.
This hotel has shared bathrooms which were modern and fine
I will definitely return
- SteveB (10/5): - Absolutely superb. I was in the King’s suite and could not fault it; beautiful renovations, immaculately clean, and wonderful staff.
The food on offer at the pub was great too.
Highly recommended. Will definitely stay again if ever back in West Wyalong.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was fabulous, spotless. Staff friendly and very helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A lovely little gem with newly renovated spacious rooms. Great food and service!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A beautiful hotel with lots of charm with newly refurbished and clean air-conditioned room and bathrooms. Only a few minor things let it down - the bathroom was out of hand soap and hand towels, and there weren't any clear instructions on how to check out early the next morning when the bar wasn't staffed yet (although to be fair I'd forgotten to ask about this when I checked in).
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Toilets and bathroom very clean. Impressive
All is good
- Verified traveler (10/5): Love this hotel in West Wyalong - The accommodation in this hotel is wonderful! Lovely updated, spacious and tastefully decorated rooms. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have been very impressed with the service and the quality of the food.
- PETER (10/5): Great Aussie Pub room. - This Hotel is a little gem. Rooms recently renovated, very clean and comfortable and away from highway. Shared facilities were spotless. Dinner reasonably priced. Left early and grabbed a croissant from a few doors up. About 4 pubs within 100m so could have done an easy pub crawl if had the time.
- anonysubscribe (8/5): - nice hotel with clean location. the bar guests and screaming children prevented sleep. they talked loudly late into the night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I loved the old world charm. Great food.
Great dining room with fire.
- robyn (10/5): Good place for a rest - Nice comfortable place for a stop. Good meal at the pub
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely staff, cleam rooms and bathroom. Very warm and confortable beds! The food in the hotel was good too.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing wrong with the company but wotif said this property had 2 vacancies. Luckily we only reserved without paying and found out there were NO ROOMS AVAILABLE! This has happened previously before, always call place before hand
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I only stayed for one night as a stopping point between South Australia and NSW, but I'd happily stay there again. My room was a newly renovated Queen that was clean and comfortable. The room was well equipped with a capsule coffee machine and toiletries in the huge bathroom. I had dinner in the pub downstairs - huge country servings and lovey fresh vegetables. A nice find.
- Roger (8/5): - Book a table for meals as most are booked and few alternatives to eat elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Really beautiful old building but recent re-furb hasn't solved structural issues like sloping balcony walkway and cracks in the walls in our room. Beds were comfy and rooms prettily set up but, as per other reviews NO HOT WATER. Staff told me they got hot water immediately after I asked about it (having had a cold shower); my husband said the water was 'warm', so maybe not freezing = hot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Renovations 100% standard. Beautiful fireplaces and meals were fantastic. “Best chicken parmigiana ever eaten”. Compliments to the chef. Would go that way again especially to stay there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great meals, well located in town, historical building
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful property, excellent accommodation and so so clean. We were very impressed except for....
The big let down was a particular staff member who clearly does not enjoy working in hospitality. She was not the least bit engaging, preferred chatting with other staff rather than attend to customers. The proprietor was very nice but really needs to train her staff to be respectful and attentive.
Also, having 3 small children running around squealing and screaming in the outdoor area at 11.30pm is just not acceptable. Their fathers, likely the babysitters, were swearing and talking very loudly, luckily they were gone by midnight.
We left very early so did not discuss our concerns with management.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This little hotel is full of character!! It has been completely renovated inside the rooms to create a wonderful mix of old world country pub but with all the modern comforts of a brand new hotel. And it is spotless!
The staff are super professional and friendly. We loved sitting in the elegant courtyard for some dinner and drinks on a balmy night. Met the chef who was also really nice and happy to chat!!
Everything about this place is just so elegant and affordable. I will be returning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A few minor touches are underway prior tothe Royal being fully restored to her former glory of 1918. A classic small country hotel. All boxes ticked for my overnight stay. Very comfortable and great value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel was fantastic staff were lovely. Would recommend to everyone
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nicely renovated room in an old style hotel, well presented and serviced. Only drawback was the air conditioning: it had trouble coping on a 40 deg. day. OK in the afternoon, but not sufficiently powerful to cool the room effectively on a hot (28 deg.) night, when the brick building retained a lot of heat. Separate communal bathroom not a problem to me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Modernised rooms and bathrooms in old classic hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean. Excellent value
- J (8/5): - A beautiful traditional hotel with private rooms on the balcony. The bathroom is shared, however is very clean and quite lovely. My husband usually hates shared bathrooms, but was absolutely ok with these ones, as there is only a few rooms and the bathrooms are beautiful.
- Graham (10/5): - A pleasant surprise just when other hotels are disapointing this one I rate as the best we have ever stayed in. The only worry was that we were the only guests. please spread the good news.
- Jim (6/5): - Reasonable accommodation for the price spoilt by lack of hot water for early morning shower
- Gregory J (8/5): - Beautiful suite. Helpful staff. Really enjoyed d the stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Newly renovated - Nice little hotel great meals and room have been freshly renovated! Would definitely recommend this place to stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well located after long journey. Friendly staff. Good clientele.
- Helen (10/5): Lovely clean comfortable room - Enjoyed my stay here. The room waa very clean and comfortable and great value for money.
- Rachel (6/5): Nice place, friendly staff - but no hot water :( - We had a nice stay and the room was cute. Staff were friendly but there was one major issue - there was no hot water and it was really cold out. Didn't get to shower off after a long journey to West Wyalong so not really awesome.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Shower was cold, nobody there on check out so didn't know where to leave the keys and no instructions were given.
- Chris (10/5): - Fabulous lovely renovated hotel, food wonderful and staff very nice
- Len (10/5): Great stay at Royal - Stay at the Royal in West Wyalong was excellent. Great warm room on a cold night. Very clean and comfortable. Located convenient to parking and supermarket. Easy to get to and great staff. Enjoyed a good steak in hotel as well bonus.
- Graham (8/5): - Well located near town centre, regarded as the best pub in Wyalong. Atmosphere and restaurant food downstairs is excellent, but our budget $70 a night accommodation upstairs was very small, with shared bathroom and toilets way down an outside balcony. Local motels at under $100 a night are better value than quoted $140 a night at the Royal for a small room with its own shower & toilet.
- Ann (8/5): - Basic, but better than expected. Good for dietary requirements. Pleasant to be in.Staff very helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Royal Hotel Wesr Wylong - Excellent place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. This hotel is not suitable for disabled patrons.
