We purchased breakfast and it was fantastic. Lovely friendly host. We will not hesitate to stay at St Michaels Guest House again when visiting the area. We didn't find anything we didn't like but it would've been good to have arrival times prior to 4pm. In fairness, we didn't submit a special request for that, and suspect the host would have accommodated any such requests if she possibly could.

• Norman (9/5): A warm welcome, a toasty room and a tasty breakfast. - This was our first visit and we very much enjoyed it. The room was lovely and larger than many. The bathroom and shower were great. We could not have been more comfortable. Our breakfast was one of the best ever. There was nothing not to like. We were made very welcome and we very much hope to go back again soon. The wifi worked, but was a wee bit erratic and lumpy.

Would stay again - Breakfast experience was great - Karen the manager was on duty and cooked breakfast to order - it was tasty and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and would consider her an asset to the premises. We arrived 45 mins before we had expected to so it may be as a result of this that the room was cold on arrival - the manager Karen was not on duty at the time. However the room did have all the facilities advertised.

• Ron (10/5): High quality accommodation for reasonable outlay - great experience - Breakfast was exceptional with a good choice and all freshly made, in a nice relaxing area to enjoy it. The room was more spacious that I thought it would be and the bathroom was in clean and good working order. Blackout curtains were really good and meant that early light didn't wake us up. Car parking area was also quite large with plenty of room for everyone to get a space. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Nothing we didn't like.

The rooms (and the whole house!) were very nice. Staff made us feel relaxed and comfortable during our stay. The breakfast was also delicious. Nothing to add here.

We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that and because of that we didn’t really see much of anyone who worked or lived there. There wasn’t anything to not like.

• Lynn (9/5): Superb - Very old well kept mansion. Gorgeous furnishings. Comfortable bed and up to date well sized bathroom. Smokers! Unfortunately smokers were on their balcony and that noxious stink went everywhere. To get in to the mansion you have to go past a designated smoking area and that was hold your breath stink. Smokers aren't the only ones who smell, they pollute the whole air and fabrics around them. That was the only, but nasty, downside. We were not able to open our windows due to the balcony smokers. A darn shame for such a beautiful special place.

They need a wired connection to an access point at that end of the building. As a business traveller, this is not satisfactory.
