- arianna (9/5): Great location, awesome public baths. Loved the tea and coffee in the room - Very elegant, clean and well organized Rooms are small, as in most cities of Japan

- Karina (9/5): Would recommend this hotel - Room and the hot bath Meals were expensive at the restaurant
- Samara (9/5): A Home Away From Home With Thoughtful Luxury Touches - This was honestly one of my favourite accommodations during our Japan trip and somewhere I would definitely stay again.
The hotel has a very understated luxury feel — elegant without being flashy — and it genuinely felt like a home away from home. The location is excellent because it sits on the quieter side of Kyoto away from the heavier traffic and crowds, yet everything is still within very easy walking distance. You can quickly reach Teramachi, Nishiki Market, restaurants, shopping areas, luxury stores and transport links very easily.
The room itself exceeded my expectations. I especially loved the shoji screen panels, which gave the room a more authentic Kyoto atmosphere and almost a subtle ryokan feel while still being modern and comfortable.
What really elevated the stay for me was how thoughtful the hotel was overall. Details really matter, and this hotel clearly thinks carefully about guest comfort.
Some of the things I really appreciated:
- complimentary bottled water daily
- free slippers and loungewear/yukata-style clothing
- tote bags for carrying items to the public baths
- soft slippers for the tatami flooring
- complimentary Epsom salts (which genuinely helped my fibromyalgia pain)
- hairbrushes, razors and other thoughtful amenities
- public baths included for guests
- laundry facilities at a very reasonable price
The public bath area was especially lovely and very relaxing after long days walking around Kyoto.
One of the highlights was also the complimentary cultural experiences offered by the hotel. We were able to meet a maiko/geisha performer in the lobby, take photographs and watch part of a performance free of charge as guests. That was such a special touch and something you would normally pay for elsewhere. The hotel also offered tea ceremonies and other experiences which made the stay feel much more interactive and memorable.
The staff throughout the stay wer The main issue for me was the pillows. Although there was a mix of sizes, they were extremely soft and memory-foam style, so my head sank very deeply into them. I often woke up with neck pain and found it difficult to get comfortable at night.
The room layout was also slightly too compact at times, especially around the bathroom entrance and wardrobe area. If you are travelling with larger suitcases and shopping bags, the room can begin to feel crowded quite quickly. There were not many hangers and not much dedicated luggage space, so storage became a little difficult during a longer stay.
One thing I personally struggled with was the inability to open the windows behind the shoji panels. As someone with asthma, anxiety and fibromyalgia, I sometimes need natural airflow rather than continuous air conditioning. At times the room felt a little claustrophobic for me because fresh air could not come into the room naturally.
I also would have appreciated slightly larger bath towels, as the towels provided felt relatively small.
Although the overall stay was excellent, I do think there could have been slightly more consideration around check-out support. Because of my medical condition and mobility difficulties, mornings are not easy for me physically. While staff were very helpful assisting with luggage upon arrival, when it came time to check out I received a call shortly after 11am reminding me about departure, but there did not seem to be the same awareness that I might also require assistance bringing heavier luggage downstairs. We ultimately had to manage this ourselves.
That said, none of these issues outweighed the positives for me, and I would still absolutely recommend the hotel and happily stay there again.

- Alexandros (9/5): One of our favourite stays in Japan - Lovely, high-quality room, with both a standard tea set and kettle as well as proper matcha bowls and whisk, the tea, coffee, matcha, etc were replenished daily, and more tea + other amenities could be fetched freely from downstairs (not the matcha, though that made sense). Hot bath was very nice, just the one bath, but was surprisingly not busy during the times we went. Spa area is key card access so is secure, there was even a tote bag provided in the room to carry stuff down with you during your stay. Bathroom was very nice, surprisingly spacious (as Japanese bathrooms go). The TV turned on automatically to a sort of greeting screen when you enter, which was a bit of a startle at first but we ended up rather liking it. Seats around the table near the TV were nice. Breakfast was nice, self-serve buffet, and the in-house coffee place was also good both for drinks and food.
It was my friend's birthday during our stay, which I made the hotel aware of in advance, and they made her the cutest towel elephant, yellow paper flowers, there was a personalised happy birthday note, a maiko-themed coaster as a gift for her, and free drink tickets. She absolutely loved it. There isn't excessive space in the room for luggage unpacking/packing, but this is only a minor issue. Choice of drinks in the evening is a little limited if you do not drink alcohol (and do not want coffee late at night), but I may just be picky!

- Nathalie (9/5): -
- Najat (5/5): Great location but bad facilities - The location was good Cleaning services is done every 3 days. The TV is old, no smart TV. Meaning that you can't watch anything in English. Lighting was very dim, more light would be better.
They have many rooms and levels in the hotel but unfortunately they only have 4 washing machines and 4 dryers. You can't wash your clothes unless you wake up at 4 or 5am to try your luck. Disappointed in that.

- Marta (10/5): - Excelente hotel
- Shannon (10/5): Very comfortable and calming hotel in a perfect location! - This hotel is incredible and was more of a traditional Japanese hotel experience. The location was perfect and felt close to everything we needed. The staff were great and very helpful and welcoming. Although the room was a little small, the design made it very manageable and truely exceeded our expectations! The bed was also comfy and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto! The room was smaller than some of the other places we stayed, but it wasn’t too bad and could make it work!
- Marvin (9/5): Modern and spacious with a great location - Great location near subways, great onsens, comfortable beds and rooms, fresh towels everyday and bottled waters, friendly staff, nice pajamas included and toiletries. Maid service every 3 days. Nothing negative
- Tait (9/5): -
- JiaMin (7/5): -
- Hamilton (9/5): The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond. - The additional activities (Mikiko, tea ceremony)were a very nice touch. The bathroom could do with sound proofing.
- Olia (7/5): Okay, but wouldnt stay again - I like that the bed (pillow part) was facing the east :D
And chairs and table in the room
Amazing part is that the window can be opened a little!
Tiny match set to make your own match (though couldnt make a tasty one) and good quality tea bags in the rooom In general this is hotel is touristy one – I saw some japanese on weekends, but otherwise you are gonna be among all kinds of foreigners.
Maybe because of this – it felt just like that, hotel for tourists.
The one you feel particularly no connection. Just a place to stay.
And there are some tiny details that felt annoying – for example, light turning on by itself when you touch the card (something when one person is already sleeping), music turning on when you enter the room (need to turn off every time), no daily cleaning (you can put a board please clean the room, and still feels like it wasnt cleaned – the cups pile up, etc)
Breakfast is kinda pricey
And there was a lot of dust here and there
- ANNA MARIA (10/5): Kyoto zen - Hotel molto bello, moderno, pulitissimo, ci è piaciuto molto. Nulla, tutto ok.
- tiffany (10/5): stunning hotel, very clean rooms with great city view and lots of amenities. - The hotel was fabulous, they have so many free included facilities like spa, maiko dancing, green tea ceremony and a tour of the rooftop view with a guide! We got to do the rooftop view with a private guide as no one else came up on that day! The staff member was knowledgeable and kind. The maiko dancer was beautiful and we even got to take a photo with her. The spa only allowed me to enter if I covered my tattoos with stickers I had to purchase, these were uncomfortable and started to peel off as soon as I was in the water so I left pretty quick. Only one other person was in the baths and I doubt that they would have cared about a few tattoos but it ruined my experience of the spa unfortunately.
- Tara (10/5): -
- Mikhail (10/5): -
- Beatrix (9/5): Lovely gem and we will stay here again. - The hotel is within walking distance of a lot of sightseeing places. Also near the station and a lot of restaurants.
Staff was always friendly and helpful. They could explain and help us when we asked questions.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were bigger than in Tokyo, but lighting could be better.
- Mariaelena (10/5): Everything was perfect. - Everything was perfect.
- Jeffy (8/5): -
- Tahnee (10/5): Beautiful hotel in a great spot! Staff were so nice and welcoming. Loved our stay here in Kyoto. Would stay here again! - Hotel Resol Trinity was in a great location and staff were lovely. The room was clean and we could not fault anything.

- Deepak (10/5): - Good central location. Easy to reach tourist sites through local transport. Room were good but if beds were slightly smaller then you gave more room to get around. Also don't think there is need for two chairs and table
- Sophie (10/5): Comfortable, great location and wonderful facilities. - Really well located. Quiet and in a lovely neighbourhood. Great onsen (particularly nice touch having new towels). Nothing.
