• Judy (9/5): House with a view - Muritai House was an excellent location for our high school reunion and celebration of our 70th birthdays. It has amazing views over Lake Taupo to the mountains and isn't far from the town center so an easy walk for meals and shopping. We were happy with the range of bedrooms and ensuites available and the large lounge,/dining,/kitchen area for gathering in.
• Spencer (8/5): Overall the house was great ,clean,tidy and very well appointed for all your needs. - It was great to have room for all the family,plenty of bathrooms and the two living areas worked well . Excellent location and outlook.The pool was great for the kids and kept them happy for hours. The bugs were very evident downstairs and fly spray was not supplied as stated. The front door is very stiff to open and initially was reluctant to force it.Some of the old joinery is wearing out and one window latch in a bedroom broke off.We obeyed the 9.00am noise rule only to have the neighbour behind party on until midnight, very noisy talking & screaming at times.The drive way is quite challangeing when you have a few vehicles.

The sleeping arrangements were great and the bed/linens super comfy. Instructions were easy too follow and the view was to die for!

• Joyce (9/5): We would come back again - Beautiful house with stunning views The driveway to the house was very narrow. we had a twelve passenger van that barely made it.. WE also felt that we had to clean up the house like we got it and we do pay a cleaning fee to cover that. we had to wash and put all the dishes away and not leave it in the dishwasher..throw all the rubbish away.. not enough rubbish bags..

Access and off street parking was difficult for a large group. I understand the neighbours concerns but it put us on edge a little with the restrictions around parking & noise. Not because we were there to party but we were a large family group and wanted to have a fun, relaxing weekend together.

• Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - The size was perfect for our group of friends. The view was amazing. A serviceman arrived promptly to sort out the heating which was greatly appreciated. Basement heating affected the upstairs heating making it too hot upstairs during the night. The cobwebs on the ceiling and the bugs in the light fittings. Plugs for sinks didn't fit making washing dishes difficult.
• Charlotte (7/5): Great house but needs some repairs to fix the leaky roof. - Heaps of room for a big group. Excellent kitchen with everything you need. Heating was great. Modern facilities. Great parking Loved all the bathrooms The ceiling leaked in a few of the rooms. One leak was right above the bed. Woke up saturated and cold. We found a few other leaks in the ceiling in the house too. I emailed the property manager to let them know as they might not know as it was a very rainy night. It has been 24hrs and I've had no response. I'm not a negative person but since I've had no response I'm leaving this review.

• Mark (9/5): Great place, shame about neighbours - Fantastic place for family gathering, well equipped, loads of space. Whilst we were very happy to adhere to house rules re no noise after 9pm it's a pity the neighbours didn't do the same. House next door played intrusive music till 1am on Saturday morning and 2am on Sunday morning.

Outside gardens need to be spruced up to make property more appealing. House needs a wash especially around the outside windows where insects are nesting etc.

• Robert (9/5): We had a fabulous time as a family and would recommend. - Amazing views. Nice and warm, well equipped kitchen and great social spaces. It is a great space for a family group, and if we'd brought kids along it would have been really great for them as well. This has been a beautiful property, but sadly it’s showing it’s age looking unloved in some areas. Brocken lights, dirty lights, leaking ceiling, pool not working, they did refund us $150 for the pool not working, the bed in main bedroom is small and uncomfortable 🥴 (Queen, and too soft, but others may like this) the rest of the beds were great. For the money you pay per night you don’t expect to see these things.
