I felt like the experience was personalized by staff with the breakfast menu I got to choose from and how clean the room was. Even the toilet paper was folded with a little bow on it. The little extra made me smile each time I saw something more. it was a stay I never experienced before and I would love to stay here again!

Being able to see the sea from the property and less than a 1/4 block away from the boardwalk, the best. For me, the stairs, if only I was younger. Hope to go again and hopefully get on a floor closer to the first floor. :-)

Am Vorabend musste angegeben werden, was man essen will. 15 Min. vor der Zeit wird das Tablett auf den Tisch gestellt - das Essen kalt… lieblos.

• Laura (10/5): Great value - Can’t beat the off season rates especially when it includes the delicious breakfast prepared by Bernadette, the innkeeper. The check in and out process were both very convenient. The windows needed some repairs and the bathroom door didn’t close properly.

Location 4 houses away from the beach. Could install an elevator for us old folks hoofing it up to the fourth floor.

• Daniel (8/5): I'm coming back. - Bernadette did, as usual, a stupendous job with breakfasts and baked goods throughout the day. I was pleasantly surprised with the Pina Calada maker. She also let me help making coffee. Bernadette is a trooper glad she trusted me to help out during a peak in guests I like to help out and earned the title of honorary handyman. Wish the hotel owner (s) took note of that. Bernadette and staff sure did. They were grateful.

• Ruben (7/5): Vertigo - The bed is awesome to sleep in. The room that my wife and I stayed in has wires hanging on the walls. Bathroom was extremely cold, shower door has mold, also floor squeak when taking a shower. And the best was that the room wasn't level. The whole room is on a angle.

Staff was super friendly and the hotel was very clean. We were on the fourth floor and there is no elevator, so it was a lot of stairs.

• Irena (10/5): - The location was perfect. The road next to beach was right at the corner. Reception area was cozy and staff vey welcoming. The room was clean and had everything I needed including a refrigerator, coffee machine, and water bottles. An electric heater warmed the room and I was able to adjust to my comfort. I hit a cheaper room so my window faced the wall and windows of house next door. But my stay was just for night so did t need a view. Breakfast was abundant with coffee and tea available along with cereals, bagels and other bread as well as eggs etc. It was great for the price. I would stay here again.

• Santos (10/5): It was a first time pleasant experience!!! - The greetings from staff member Stephanie. She was kind and very patient with me. Also Teresa , housekeeping was very efficient with her job. The cleanliness of the whole house was impeccable. She was also very courteous and kind. I can’t complain
• Angus (5/5): Good location and friendly atmosphere but facilities not working that well and disturbed night. - The woman running the hostel was very friendly. The location of the hotel is excellent and very convenient to have parking on the street just outside. It was convenient to have free breakfast in the hotel, although this was quite basic. There was no one to receive us at check in, so we had to wait until another guest let us in and then call up a phone number. The room was very cold and we had to use plug-in heaters to warm ourselves up, which tripped the electrics a number of times. The WiFi didn't work so we had to tether from our mobile phones. On the second night of our stay, we were woken up at 4am by a fire alarm. This then went off but some 20mins later we were woken up by the police knocking at our door telling us to evacuate. We had to sit in our car for a bit before being allowed back inside. The building was given the all clear so we returned to our room. Another 20mins later we were woken by a knock and told the owner wanted to speak to us in reception as the electricity was down. I went down and then was told I could go back up. Some 20mins after that we were woken again by knocking outside our door and hearing the owner speak to someone in the neighbouring room. All in all we were disturbed 4 times in the same night and had a very poor night's sleep. I appreciate that this was an exceptional situation but it was managed poorly by the team. There was also no acknowledgement of this this next morning. I would have expected at least an apology but also an offer for a refund for the disturbed night.

• Travel20937444151 (4/5): Boardinghouse Vibe - What a disappointment. Booked through AARP for a one night stay for my wife’s birthday. She loves the beach and wants come see the sunrise on her birthday. Made a request online if anything could be waiting in the room like balloons or fruit. No response and nothing provided. In fact, there wasn’t any communication ahead of our stay. Arrived at 5pm on Sunday and nobody was there to assist us. Called the number on the website and it was answered by Doug who sounded annoyed to be disturbed. One word answer of “Beachliner” so I told him nobody was around and we had no room information. Gave us room 4 and the code to main entrance and the room. The room was freezing cold. Bathroom window was closed but there was a gap and couldn’t be locked. Found the provided space heater in a makeshift shelf setup. Didn’t seem safe to have those given the wiring I saw in the room. The cable tv wasn’t working so called Doug again…. “Beachliner” Said it was Cablevisions issue and there were issues in the area. Never turned on the entire stay. Couldn’t tell me what the WiFi password was because he claimed it recently changed and he didn’t know what it was. Said I could go downstairs and it on the wall. I guess this was the only place to see the WiFi that should have been provided ahead of time. The space heater stopped working in the middle of the night. Another call to Doug. Had another one delivered to the room. The website says recently refurbished but it felt like a boardinghouse from 1920. Peeling paint everywhere, electrical issues with plugs and wires, stale french fry found on a shelf, used game pieces on the floor behind the bed, night table lamp that worked sometimes. The only thing attractive was the price which in hindsight matched the place as well as the closeness of the beach. Will not be returning.

We will certainly be back 👍 - Ideally situated with close access to the beach and a short walk to the pubs and restaurants in Asbury. The hotel is small and quirky with a really homely feel - rooms are clean and spacious and the staff are welcoming and very professional and friendly.

Bernadette is an absolute treasure; resourceful, kind host, and makes one heck of a breakfast spread (plus custom omelettes!). We had some hiccups in our reservation (more of an expedia issue than anything) and Bernadette walked it through with me, helping me find an even better rate than I had booked! Lovely refreshing drinks throughout the day. Exceptional hospitality. Thank you B!

Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist paar Meter vom Strand entfernt und in einer sehr charmanten Gegend gelegen. Die Zimmer sind etwas hellhörig, aber das hatte nicht weiter gestört. Beim Frühstück wird Besteck nur in Plastik und Teller/Schüsseln in Papier angeboten, anstatt richtiges Geschirr. Aber das ist hier vermutlich normal.

Her delicious homemade cookies were set out in the afternoon. The location is fantastic, four houses in from the beach and a few minutes walk down the main avenue to shops and restaurants.

Det var svårt att få varmvatten i duschen, ena kvällen kom det ganska varmt vatten efter 20 min och andra kvällen inget alls, men det gjorde inget. Vi förstår att det beror på att det charmiga huset är gammalt. Inget som överskuggade vistelsen.

Steps from the Ocean and boardwalk,plenty of free parking. breakfast was cooked to order with many options & plentiful . The house manager Bernadette is the warmest, kind person she really goes the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and even offers a snack for the ride home . thank you for a wonderful stay! Will be back one day

Not recommended for seniors, as you have to take your luggage up 1 to 3 flights of fairly steep, narrow stairs! Nice continental breakfast and Burnedette was very helpful and informative.

• travel_now_co (4/5): Need to address maintenance issues and service - The property is very cute from the exterior and the lobby/sitting area is also nice with coffee, cookies and breakfast. Location near the beach is excellent. As others have stated, the property has very thin walls- we could hear our neighbors clearly even though they didn’t seem to be speaking loudly. The bedroom was cute and beds very comfortable, but there were maintenance issues. I couldn’t get any hot water despite running both sides for an extended time. Just lukewarm… so I couldn’t take a shower. The deadbolt on the door was broken as well. The ceiling started to leak at around 10pm which turned out to be from the shower above. Clearly not an isolated incident as the ceiling was patched from prior leaks. I get that these things happen from time to time, but the manner in which management addressed the situation was less than satisfactory, and they didn’t seem too concerned about the inconvenience it caused their guests. I certainly won’t be returning based on their response alone.
• B (10/5): - Bernadette, the inn keeper was very welcoming and informstive. As many of these beachside hotels are historical properties, this one is well kept and newly renovated. It has a charm that makes it very comfortable. It still retains its older charm but has been updated. Beds very comfortable and nice shower. The breakfast was delicious and bountiful, if simple, varied by day: eggs to order, bagels, English muffins, OJ, coffee stuff, pancakes on Sunday, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, hash browns, sausage. Coffee and water in the room. Delicious fresh cookies anytime. Tons of towels. Lovely front porch with a view of the ocean.
