• Nicola (8/5): Primo Location - Amazing location. If you're making a decision based on location, this should be it. House was clean and tidy and had what was needed. We only stayed a night but I think it would work for a number of nights with light self catering. Parking is super convenient and host offers luggage storage if needed. Very easy self-checkin and all the information about the apartment is provided in advance. Great view over the river. Would be even better if there were a few seats on the balcony. Didn't love being hurried out the door just prior to 11am checkout, as this is always a busy time for a young family to be organizing children and packing to depart, but the host was kind regardless.

El anfitrión fue encantador: nos recibió a la llegada, nos dio recomendaciones sobre dónde desayunar y comer, e incluso nos acompañó. Para mí y mi familia ha sido una experiencia excelente. ¡Super recomendable! Nada que no me gustara.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the character and charm of the place – it truly felt like stepping back in time, but with all the modern comforts we needed. The house was spacious and well-maintained, with unique antique touches in every room. Each bedroom was cozy and comfortable, making it perfect for our group. The kitchen was fully equipped, and we enjoyed preparing meals and dining in the lovely vintage-style dining room. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, providing clear check-in instructions and great local recommendations. The neighborhood was peaceful and conveniently located near cafes, shops, and local attractions. We especially loved relaxing on the porch in the evenings – a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. We like the family seating area where we can watch TV and chat with each other. The property was just by the Malacca river. We will be planning another family trip to this property again for a longer stay. nil

• Joncheryl (9/5): Fun, novel, exotic, but always bring charcoal pills and know your nearest clinic and alternatives. - Having a river view with river cruises swishing pass at intervals was an amazing feeling. There was always something to watch or observe for both young and old. We even spotted monitor lizards taking a dip in the river and caught the entire filming process of a music video of local talent Ah Niu on the bridge! The Line Clear restaurant about 20 metres away from the doorstep, a Malay foodstall that opens 11am - 5pm also satisfied our satay cravings when we arrived on our first day. Something to fill our stomach after a long drive and ready us to explore or plan other things to do. By evening, even if you don't feel like going anywhere else, just lingering aroumd the riverside and watching the lights and cafe music from a distance come alive as night falls makes it a worthwhile experience. Wished there was Chinese food (porridge, soups, noodles) round the corner that needn't need more walking to get, especially for families travelling with young children or elderly. On the day of check out, i fell ill and had to go to the clinic. It was about 11.20am. The owner told us our family could wait till 2plus pm for us at Vista Rio. We were grateful for that which put our mind at ease as we had young kids and elderly in tow. However at about 12pm we were informed that they were "chased out" by the cleaning staff. We never got the bandwidth to clarify what that was about as I was receiving treatment at the clinic and just hoped everything would be alright. We were also waiting to check into our next destination which would only be available at 4pm. Overall, despite the pretty novel experience due to the unique location, situations that can arise in times of medical need/emergency may need to be better communicated with all parties. To give the benefit of the doubt, the cleaning staff may have not been aware that the remaining family members were there because 2 other family members were at the clinic, one receiving treatment (I had to undergo drip so there was about an hour of wait time to complete treatment).

• Anonymous (8/5): My family has a wonderful experience in Malacca. - Located conveniently with places of interest within minutes. Breakfast place is just opposite the bridge. Host is extremely responsive and nice. We feel very much at home. Crows start wailing quite early. Not for the light sleepers.

• Alice (9/5): Great Experience - Excellent location. Morning we walked over the bridge and there are 2 restaurants serving local breakfast meals. There are many bars along the river at another side but still remain quite and peace at night. My old parents stayed at downstairs which is super convenient for them. The rest of us including one infant stayed upstairs and the space is really clean and spacious. The owner and the team are friendly and fast responsive. It was a surprise that they treated us Nyonya snacks in the next day morning. So thoughtful. The car park is not that far. Just take about 2min walking distance to the parking lot. I really appreciate owner able to offer spacious parking lot for us. Just love everything and highly recommended to all.
