Guest Reviews
- Jon (6/5): - It's an older place and the rooms go from teeny-tiny to normal. Inner rooms don't have any view. The staff was nice but they are trying to sell timeshares so beware. Decent location just a couple blocks uphill from Union Square
- Tim (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, quiet, in a great part of the city.
- ETsang20 (6/5): 7 day stay for family events - We have been to San Francisco numerous time and stayed in nearby three nearby timeshares. This one is great location, historical building, free loading parking, parking garage close and convenient, but not in and out priviledge; Front desk nice and let us check in early, give us a bottle wine when know we have a student graduation... complain is the 711 studio is very poorly furnitured and arranged, not much storage space, not much supplies... no free wifi in 2025 the capital of high tech, and no housekeeping for a 7 day stay. But it is fairly quiet.
- Joel (4/5): - Staff sold my reservation to a different hotel. Virginia, manager, would not respond to desk staff requests to resolve. Hotel filthy, staff member gave each guest a paper map, circled areas and said? "Dont go here after 5".
I would not do this again. Very dissatisfied.
- Miri (1/5): Bad -
- Tracey (6/5): Great staff. Dated facility. - The staff were outstanding. The facility is dated and rooms are small. Rooms very small.
- robertmE4936MR (8/5): Great location and great service - The rooms have been upgraded and are very comfortable. The staff were excellent, and noticeably more numerous than last time. Ideal location next to a Japanese restaurant and across the road from a great mini-mart and liquor store. A lovely home away from home.
- maryoliverm (2/5): Reservation cancelled 1.5 days before arriving. - I got an email from Club Wyndham 1.5 days before my trip at Worldmark San Francisco was supposed to be saying my reservation was cancelled due to overbooking. They would not rebook me at a hotel of my choosing, instead offering ones that were a good distance away and would fully set me apart from my party staying at the other property. They ended up rebooking me at a property that would still require a walk alone in a sometimes dangerous city. Never ever book with this company, this is the most disgusting customer service I've ever experienced and my trip is essentially ruined.
- Gcapusan (10/5): The best place to spend some nights in SF for you and your family - We kind of had a bumpy start because of a strange smell in our room. I reported to the front desk and immediately they came upstairs and took care of it. The staff was so caring, compassionate and professional at every step of the way. Even when we needed some medical attention they handled it extremely well. During the stay at this wonderful resort we felt helped and safe the whole stay. The staff was beyond amazing which made our stay so pleasant. It was so hard to leave but now we know that while in SF next time for sure we will stay here.
I definitely warmly recommend this great resort.
Thank you for making our stay a remarkable one. WE WILL BE BACK!
- Glen (10/5): Great stay! - Great location and value and service...very clean & comfortable room
- Q824QAlouised (10/5): Great accommodation in an excellent location - Great accommodation in an excellent location. We stayed in a studio on the 9th floor. It was very quiet and comfortable. The hotel is located close to Chinatown and Little Italy. We walked most places including down to the Bay. Special thanks to Wendy on the Concierge Desk, who was so friendly and helpful.
- clairet234 (8/5): Great staff, great location, renovated hotel - We had booked a top floor studio and a 1bed/2bath apartment for 5 days. The staff was wonderful at valet and check-in. The noise was not that bad (as mentioned in other reviews), especially if you turn on the AC fan as background noise. The initial studio was so small we requested a room change and they accommodated us right away. FYI, the hotel has 9 floors but the elevator stops at the 8th with a dozen more steps up a narrow staircase. The 1 bed unit was large and very comfortable. The gym was very small and barely adequate. The location is unbeatable. The concierge team was very interested - if not pushy- on having us attend their presentation even if we let them know we didn’t have time on our Christmas vacation to do that. Overall, a clean, updated hotel with great front desk staff in a very convenient location.
- Roberto (8/5): - very good. no free wifi? amazing that this is not available. will not recommend this hotel based on this
- Safari756622 (10/5): Where to stay in SanFransico - Beautiful place to stay with beyond friendly staff. John at Concierge is most helpful. Hotel within walking distance to Wharf, Chinatown, Little Italy, Cable car, Union Square, a small market and liquor store. Complimentary laundry room with detergent. Rooms comfortable. They supplied earplugs but we didn't need them...room was quiet enough for us. A block from Cable Car, a block from Gate to Chinatown. Downhill walk all the way to wharf and Pier 39. Just a great experience all the around. Will stay there again. No aa
- D6412WHdawnc (10/5): Location, Location, Location - The location was excellent. The hotel staff (especially Jon and Michael) were outstanding. My only complaint: the noise from the street at night. Thank goodness the hotel provided ear plugs, but I still didn’t sleep as well as I’d like on vacation. Windows appeared to be double pane, but Wyndham should upgrade to soundproof windows like housing near airports have. Resort staff solved my problem, but in 2023 the hotel should automatically have free Wi-Fi.
- 374lupew (10/5): Loved Worldmark SF - Have never stayed at the Worldmark SF. The Location was great ! Staff friendly and Professional . The Rooms clean. Chinatown within walking distance . The weather was great . Enjoyed my stay . Would recommend this Hotel
- carlawR1456IF (10/5): Great location and helpful staff! - We had a great experience at the WorldMark Wyndham San Francisco June, 2023! We did not have the issues with city noise on the 7th floor that other reviewers noted; however, the hotel now provides complimentary earplugs in case that is an issue. The hotel was centrally located within walking distance to our tour pickup spots and other areas of the city (Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf). The desk staff was fabulous and provided a locked area for our baggage prior to check-in and after 10am checkout so we could utilize those time frames for activities in the city. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples coming to San Francisco, and we would stay here again if we return.
- Arnab (10/5): - Great location but staff was not engaging. There was an urgency to purchase timeshare at the location. WiFI is not included with stay.
- Javad (4/5): road noise, no room service... - I stayed for a 3-day business trip. It was a lovely place but the noise of the street was crazy. I live in NYC and never had a similar experience. It is as if I was sleeping on the side of the road. No room service. No free wifi. All I wanted was to get some sleep and have clean beds. Asked the front desk. Nice people but the only positive suggestion was for next stay I should ask to stay on the other side of the building. I do not think there will be another time for me.
- david j (10/5): - Google location
- travelingwfun (10/5): Great historic hotel and a great location. - First a big thank you to the staff in every department. Great job on the renovation to this historic building! The rooms, hallways, and lobby are so much better compared to BC (Before COVID-19). My only tip is to have your favorite earplugs handy because San Francisco is a very loud city at night. Yes, even at this location no mater what room you’re in.
- emiceri (10/5): Great Hospitality and Location - Stayed in Late Aug 2021 for 4 nights, then took a road-trip to Monterey/Carmel, and came back for 2 nights to close out the SF experience. We did a bit of driving, so we paid the San Francisco premium on parking -- Crocker Garage had great price with unlimited in-out privileges. It was a little walk from the Hotel, but it was okay. The Sutter parking across the street would have been just as expensive with no in-out. We took day trips to the Peninsula to see family.
The first part of the stay we had 2 studio rooms, it was nice to give the young adults their own room and space. They were good size, and like any regular hotel. They also had some dishware and a minifridge if you needed. There was good closet and drawer space.
The second part of the stay we had a 1 bedroom, 2 bath. The 2nd bath was really great for the young adults who stayed in the living-room because it felt like they had their own room, while parents stayed in the larger 1 bedroom with their own bathroom. It was enough space for everyone to have their section. It also had the kitchen sink with basics.
The team was very hospitable and knowledgeable. They get an A+. The location was great - but be prepared to walk hills. This is very close to the Nob Hill section which has the Ritz, Intercontinental (nice hotels) that are located at the top of the hill (near the Crocker Garage). Chinatown is next door, and Union Square is down the Street. Nothing is THAT far, unless your going to Mission or Dogpatch... but you can easily catch an Uber/Lyft or take the train. The Trolley is nearby if you want to have that experience. You can take a walk through the neighborhoods to Fisherman's Wharf, but it's about a 2 mile walk... so be prepared and take some water. But if you're making it a stroll, you can stop by North Beach (Little Italy area) for a coffee or dessert before you continue walking to the Wharf. You can catch the Trolley at the Wharf and it will take you up the hill, somewhat closer to the Hotel.
We utilized the CityPass for $72 and picked Academy of Sciences, Aquarium, Zoo, and Sunset Cruise. It was well worth the cost because it forced us to go throughout the city to different neighborhoods. We also did Alcatraz (which is a separate ticket).
We absolutely loved our experience. We will certainly be back again and again because we've figured out how to make it work (including a giant car!). Points of Advice -- have breakfast in the room (sandwiches or something) to save on some money, and then stop for lunch and splurge on Dinner. Have a plan of the area you want to get to know so that you maximize the walking route. You don't have to pack TONS! You can do laundry at no charge, they will give you detergent and doesn't take very long. You can use the gym while you wait for the wash. You can also bring DVDs (for those with little kids) because they have a DVD player. The Pull-out couch is pretty good.
I'm open to questions if you have any... but it was great and I love San Francisco.
- wcangelassistant (4/5): Wasn't open! - I booked a stay with Worldmark San Francisco for my boss and was not informed that the reservation had been moved to Canterbury. Upon checking the reservation, it was not found. I had to track it by calling a few agents, and found it was moved due to the elevator renovation. Everyone I spoke to stated that an email was sent with the changes. However, changes should have been reissued with the guest authorizing the move or cancelling. It should not have been up to the hotel to make this change. An updated, OFFICIAL booking confirmation should also have been sent with any changes of the reservation. Due to this mistake, my boss was unaware of the booking and thus had to cancel with penalties.
- 269ralphm (2/5): IT WASN'T OPEN - I don't know how the ball got dropped so horribly, but I booked this resort in December 2020 to travel in April 2021. Booking when through well.
Got to SF (a busy and tight market in times of no pandemic) and the cahnsarnit place was CLOSED. Closed for renovation.
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU BOOK THIS PLACE. Verify they are open...
They are supposed to be open soon...after being closed for well over a year for the renovation.
The only saving grace was Grevorg. He's the superintendent for the building...lead maintenance. He gave me access to the lobby, a place to charge my phone, pen and paper to write down information and a lot of help. The only bright star on a pretty dark evening in SF.
- sp4301 (8/5): Location - This property is in a great location if you want to be right in the city and close to many amenities. The staff was friendly and polite and this was the least pressured sales pitch of any WorldMark we’ve been in.
As some reviewers have noted, the street noise can be a bit much. Even from the 6th floor we could hear traffic and people at street level all through the night. I’ll bring earplugs or sleeping meds next time.
The room was clean and comfortable room with hotel-like amenities. The room floor was slanted upwards a few inches towards the outside wall, is immediately noticeable and unusual.
Overnight parking is available in the public parking garage across the street, our one night in the garage cost $31.
We will stay here again.
- redjer70 (8/5): Quite reasonable, well located - We were in a studio which had a microwave and a small fridge with dishes. The staff was friendly and helpful but it is important to remember that this is a timeshare - which means they have a product to sell you. They even woke me up in the morning to try to get me to a sales presentation. They will be doing a major renovation in 2020 so it is diffcult to know what it will look like then.
- OBD2142 (6/5): Convenient Location - An easy walk to Union Square. We were in a one bedroom, so Queen bed and pull out sofa. The pull out wasn’t the most comfortable, but that was expected. Bedding was in closet to make the bed. You may request an extra blanket. There was a fridge and coffee pot in the room. Soap provided. Bring your other amenities. Plenty of hot water. Staff was pleasant. Property looks basic. Coffee provided in the lobby each morning.
- Resort45636162904 (10/5): Enjoyed our stay, great location - Pros: Arrived early at the hotel (7:30am) and got to check in early since the room was available! Lucky us! Friendly staff, great location and clean rooms (recently updated - I don’t think the bathroom floor was changed though). The water pressure in the shower was awesome!
Cons: Might be one of the nosiest places that I’ve stayed at. The windows do not block out sound very well. If you’re on the side with the school, you will hear the kids and school bells in the morning. We were staying on the top floor (9th floor). They must’ve been doing something on the roof one morning...there was some LOUD pounding going on up there. If you’re on the 9th floor, the elevator only goes up to the 8th floor. You will have to take your luggage up a steep and narrow staircase (I believe there are only 4 rooms on the 9th floor so your chances of being up there is slim).
Overall a great stay. It was perfect for our short two day stay.
- RobL620 (8/5): Great location overlooking the main area. - Arrived late in the evening after 22 hour trip from Western Australia and the welcoming staff were wonderful.
We had a great stay and the rooms, although a little small, were comfortable. The staff are super helpful and are happy to advise on places of interest.
- airbinx (8/5): Worldmark Stay - The Hotel building is of the older generation but has been nicely refurbished. Located on Nob Hill, the area is perfect as a central location close to Iconic shopping, i.e. Saks 5th Ave and others of its ilk. The staff could not be faulted, friendly, helpful and supportive. We enjoyed our visit.
