• jeffdH4670PL (2/5): Worst hotel outside of Turkey - This is not a four star hotel. We arrived and they would not accept our confirmation, but we finally got to our room. No water on the night stands as is customary, no Kleenex, no towel or towel rack in the half bath. Soap was half the size of a credit card. Shampoo was a joke. I brought my own and bought body wash in the lobby. I tipped the bell man seven Euros to help me with me bags and he left the luggage cart in the hallway. Breakfast buffet was cold both days. Coffee was also cold. Came back from my tour to find dirty coffee cups and dirty glasses in the bathroom. Not once but twice. The first day we did not get fresh towels. If you want to find a place with ill behaving children and screaming parents, this place is for you. I saw a mother drop her infant on the restaurant floor this morning. Apparently she did not know how to hold a baby. The baseboards are dirty and when I knocked to cover off the shower drain, some suspicious black scum came out which I cleaned with a piece of toilet paper. There is a yellow stain on the bottom sheet near the pillow. Finally, my friend commented that none of the staff smiles or is friendly in any manner. They hand you a drink with no expression. Whoever gave this hotel a four stars must not have visited or maybe he was bribed.
• Jukebox80 (8/5): Great value hotel in a lovely part of Croatia 🇭🇷 - I stayed at Hotel Medena with my 6 year old. Only a short ride from the airport. Around 15eur via uber. Upon arrival we checked in and headed to our room to find it hadn’t been cleaned. As it was late at night we was asked to stay in another room and move to our allocated room the following day. The reception staff was really helpful and apologised what had happened. We checked into our room early the following morning before breakfast and the two cleaners prepared it for us and both was so polite and apologetic. Throughout our stay the house keeping ladies was always so friendly, even though there was a language barrier. The hotel breakfast was good. A selection of meats (hot and cold), different types of eggs, cheeses, cereals, yoghurts, muffins and a small selection of fruit and salad items. There was also hot and cold drinks too. There was indoor and outdoor seating, although only a few outdoor tables. The swimming pool and splash park was both lovely. The only issue at the pool is that some of the decking boards had broken and could cause an injury, particularly with young children running around. There didn’t seem to be any maintenance workers around fixing things, which is a shame as it would improve the hotel in my opinion. The pool area also didn’t appear to be cleaned each day and we never see anyone cleaning there. It just needs a hose down as people spill drinks and some leave rubbish sadly. There’s a lovely pool bar with friendly staff a selection of cocktails, beer, soft drinks and ice lollies. We wasn’t all inclusive so we had to pay, but it all seemed reasonable. We wasn’t drinking alcohol though. There was a good list of cocktails that was included in the all inclusive deal. The beach was lovely with clear turquoise waters and shingle instead of sand. The beach was extremely busy, but we always found a spot. There’s also a beach bar and fast food restaurant plus an excursion stand, jet ski stand and a small souvenir/beach shop. There’s also a stand selling pancakes and turbo or loaded chips too. We did jet skiing for 35eur for 10 minutes and parasailing for 90eur for us to go up together. Both was fun. There’s also paddle boards for hire a bit further up the beach. If you go to the ground floor of the hotel as you come up the steps from the beach (first entrance to the right at the top of the steps), there’s a selection of inflatables that I think other guests have left there when departing the hotel. This is a great idea as saves buying them and you can try different ones, which is a lot of fun for the kids. The fast food place was cheap and cheerful. We bought pizzas on some nights to eat on the beach. It was reasonably priced in there and the staff really friendly. There’s another restaurant if you come down the steps to the beach from the hotel and you turn right. There’s also a few beach bars, restaurants and an ice cream place if you turn right from the steps and walk a little way. You can catch the water taxi to Trogir from the Lidl stand as you come down from the hotel steps and turn right and walk a few minutes only. They run every hour minimum and the cost was around 10-13eur for one adult and child return. There are different companies doing the water taxi, so just be sure you use the same company on the return. Trogir is stunning and well worth a visit. We ate there a few evenings in the sushi place and people seafood restaurant. We also had ice cream and drinks down there. My little boy loved seeing the yachts and walking around the cobbled streets. He also loved the bridge up past the play park and castle building. We did a few day trips which we booked with the guy on the beach and also when in Trogir. We went to Mostar in Bosnia and Krka, Primosten and Šibenik. We enjoyed both but mainly Krka as we felt we got to see a lot. For the Mostar trip we had to get to Trogir for pick up at 5:55am. It was on a Sunday morning, so taxis was hard to get. Hotel security called a few but no one was answering. I eventually got one through bolt, but was told that the party goers are just finishing in split at that time, so all taxis are usually that kind of way. So I’d recommend anyone needing a taxi at this kind of time for excursions or the airport, book in advance to minimise the risk of any problems. We joined in some of the animation programme such as beach (in the sea) and pool water exercises which was a lot of fun. We see them playing mini golf and in the football pitches too but we didn’t take part. There’s also tennis courts to hire for 10eur per hour and there’s a mini disco and some night time entertainment but we didn’t go to it as we spent more time in Trogir or on the beach at night swimming and eating pizza. You can also get a ferry from Trogir to Split via the bura line for 10eur adult and 5eur kids one way. We did it and it took just over an hour and stopped in a place called Slainte too. Split is worth visiting but I didn’t feel it was anywhere as nice as Trogir. During the evening there was queues for a drink in the reception area. That was because of the all inclusive guests, so we often bought drinks from the small shops that was open late in the main reception area. But this could be frustrating if you are an all inclusive guest. The reception area bar closes at 10pm, however the area where evening entertainment is held was open later some nights, but it did not seem to be every night. The steps from the hotel to the pool and beach, was managed ok by me and my 6 year old, even in the heat as the area is quite shaded by the trees. They may pose a problem for less mobile people, however we enjoyed the exercise each day and we managed then several times per day without any difficulties. The hotel entertainment programme was not clear and we couldn’t find any details on it in English. This was a shame as we may of joined in more if we had access to this information. It would be great for the hotel to put something up in the main reception area so English speaking guests know what is happening and can join in more. The hotel rooms are basic, but clean and functional. Our room was quite modern but appears only half renovated with the doors being old and tired looking and also the balcony area, yet the beds and main room interior and bathroom appeared to be newer. The hotel corridors leading to the rooms lacked adequate lighting and made the areas feel very dark and dingy. The main reception, restaurant and communal areas was all modern, light and airy. The rooms offer a few safe with instructions on how to use being placed on top of the safe. Overall I would recommend this hotel as the location was great for travelling around the area a bit. We had a really nice time staying here and we don’t want to leave tomorrow. I would say our stay was such great value for the money we paid. I would recommend this to others, as you can get some good deals to stay here. Before coming I was worried as I had read some really negative reviews, however we found that by interacting with staff and learning some basic Croatian greetings, they was very welcoming and helpful. We are sad to be leaving.

Meressä oli merisiilejä, mutta rannalta sai ostettua uimatossuja. Rannan hiekka ei ollut kuumaa eikä tarttunut pyyhkeseen tai muihin tavaroihin.
• Sunshine95548 (2/5): All inclusive is a scam. - Stairs stairs stairs everywhere. Terrible personel. You can get only one keycard for your room No bottled water in “all inclusive” program No snack bar (cant count the bread with ham up in the hotel if you are at the pool - 500m by stairs away - your baby will be hungry between breakfast - lunch - dinner. All inclusive ends at 22pm, so as electricity in your room, reception etc.
• eme454 (2/5): Worst hotel and experience - Awful, would never stay again! Unfortunately, the hotel room was infested with bed bugs, which is both unhygienic and unacceptable. To make matters worse, the hotel staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. The hotel is set in a lovely location, close to beach and pool is lovely, but inside the hotel and the staff were a real let down- shame!

The pool is really lovely and I really liked the short walk to the small, pebbly beach and proximity to Split Airport however you could do far better than this hotel.
• Culture29042404952 (2/5): Worst hotel ever!!! - Had to stay here when our flight was cancelled… worst hotel ever as the staff were rude and confrontational, not allowing us a drink with our meals & clearly discriminating against the British. Rooms dated and dirty, hotel grounds were just rough scrubland… Do Not Stay Here!
• E196KHthomasl (2/5): The accommodation should be 4*, realistically I rate it at max 2* - The reception is renovated. The large and children's pool is new and nice. But that's all regarding the renovation of the hotel complex. Everything else is old. The hotel is not at all suitable for immobile people (wheelchair users) or for families with strollers, because the dining room can only be accessed by stairs. Also, only stairs lead to the pools. There are elevators from the reception to the rooms, but they do not have a presence sensor between the doors. We often witnessed guests getting stuck between elevator doors. We had apartments in the renovated part of the hotel (so it was presented) We received only one access card for the entire family of 4. There was also a refrigerator in the room, but it only worked if the card was inserted in the switch, if you were outside the room, it did not cool. The prices of drinks in the mini bar in the room in this hotel were crazy, they don't have such prices even in hotels in Monaco. The room also had a mini TV (size about 19" - quite comical) and air conditioning. The bathroom was renovated. The shower corner did not seal and the worst thing was the toilet, which splashed water out every time it was flushed. Finally, I want to mention the expensive and strange hotel buffet, which was located on the ground floor in the reception. For example, the price of 1L Coke costs €5, and among the toys for children there were "toys for adults" displayed at the checkout As a negative, I would also mention the trend of reserving sunbeds by the pool, which the hotel tolerated and did nothing about. It was common that all the sunbeds were occupied (with towels) already in the morning and no one was at the pool.
• Marita (6/5): Hotel Medena - Slitent bad, veldig harde madrasser. Mye støy i baren i resepsjonen. Unger som sprang rundt å hylte. Det har tidligere vært en rekke restauranter nede ved stranden, disse er nå borte så eneste alternativet der nede var junkfood. Regner med at årsaken til det er at hotellet tilbyr all inklusive. 3. gangen vi var her nå, men kommer ikke tilbake.

Ons zien ze niet weer.

• Jean-marc (10/5): - très bon hôtel, forte capacité (600 chambres), idéalement situé près de la mer, un balcon dans chaque chambre (ma chambre : vue exceptionnelle sur mer...la 776), chambres propres, 1 restaurant, un bar, une boutique de souvenirs (on y vend également des "cigarettes" CBD😁👍), une belle piscine, une petite plage, un arrêt de bus sortie de l'hôtel (par contre, dans cet arrêt de bus : aucune info, indication sur les numéros de lignes de bus, ni horaires, ni carte du trafic des bus...rien !donc perso, j'ai fait tous les jours hôtel Medena-Trogir a pied...j'aime marcher !😁👍) pour le staff à la réception : exceptionnel !!oui !oui !excellent !les dames furent très agréables, gentilles (l'une d'entre-elles n'a pas hésité à m'aider pour me dire comment faire devant l'ATM (appareil pour tirer de l'argent...), car c'était écrit en croate !de plus, une autre fois, cette même dame a appelé (pour moi) l'agence pour une excursion (cette dernière m'ayant oublié, mais m'a et remboursé, et offert gratuitement l'excursion le lendemain...), une autre dame de la réception (celle qui m'a enregistré à mon arrivée) était très cordiale, très sympa (j'ai pu discuter un peu avec ce personnel de tout et de rien en fait, alors qu'elles, elles travaillaient !)donc, pour le staff à la réception, ce fut un vrai bonheur de l'avoir rencontré...bref, si je pouvais attribuer 10 étoiles à cet établissement, je le ferais volontiers...mais bon, ça ne marche pas comme ça n'est-ce-pas ? à refaire au Medena !👍👍👍

• NorthStar37122353521 (8/5): Beautiful location. - I would love to give the hotel 5 stars. The location is fantastic. A fairly isolated spot a few kilometers from Trogir. Huge grounds slopping down to a beautiful beach. A number of clay tennis courts and soccer fields. There is a boardwalk which in the past had a number of small shops, restaurants, and ticket booths for tours and rentals. Unfortunately since Covid most of them have closed. There is one restaurant, one bar, and one ticket booth remaining. This leads into the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. The hotel food is horrible! You are much better off taking a water taxi to Trogir (4€) if you want a decent meal. The beach restaurant is adequate. The immense hotel itself is an old Soviet style palace which has recently been renovated.The rooms are spartan. The staff needs some hospitality training. My wife was overcharged at the bar. One year we took an apartment/cabin there. It worked out nicely. Despite my complaints we will probably go back for a 4th visit, the area is so nice.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Hotel medena - Renhold av hotellet var skuffende. Det var møkkete gulv på rom, veranda virket ikke som var vasket i hele år. Forferdelig møkkete. Sønnen min mistet en bil under seng, den ble værende der, ingen orket hente den frem. Det ble fremstilt som et renovert hotell, men dolokket på doen vår var ødelagt, det satt ikke fast, vann spruter opp av doen når man trakk opp og ned på gulv. Dorullholder hang og slang på veggen. Renhold av doer ved bassengområdet var skikkelig møkkete. Virket ikke som de ble rengjort hver dag. Skuffende at man ikke kunne sitte ute å spise frokost. Kun en kjempe stor frokostsal innendørs, med dårlig rengjøring av bord. Bord ble ikke vasket mellom hver bordsetting, og stolene var skikkelig grisete. Bassengområdet var fint og nytt, men vannet i bassenget var helt grått og ekkelt. Vi badet ikke der de siste dagene da det ble verre og verre for hver dag.

• Cynthia (8/5): Chambre vieillotte - Chambre vieillote et très encombrée mais propre ! Personnels sympathiques. L'établissement est d'un manière générale un peu vétuste, mais il y a un accès direct a la mer, piscine et restaurants ce qui est très appréciable.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Bra hotell som är nära till strand - Helhetsmässigt så var det bra på hotellet och vi är jättenöjda. Vad det gäller maten så var den helt okej. Något som kan förbättras är att ha tydligare beskrivning på vad maten innehåller då allergier finns. Det var lite dåligt skyltat på vissa kött typer. En annan sak som vi tänkte på var att servitörerna/servitriserna cirkulerade inte så mycket runt borden som man hade önskat, då sista veckan vi var där så blev vi inte tillfrågade om vad för dricka vi ville ha fast vi försökte få kontakt med dom och det var knappt några gäster. Servitörerna var helt inne på att plocka disk. Hade varit trevligt till frukosten att ha mer standard alternativ för te t.ex. Earl Grey för den som inte dricker kaffe. Annars så var personalen trevliga, fanns alltid mat, borden var rena. Hotellet ligger också nära till en liten super market ifall man vill köpa något gott eller färsk frukt. Rummen var bra och städade. Städerskorna var trevliga och gjorde sitt jobb. Dock så önskar jag att dom kunde bytt lakanen iallafall två gånger under vår långa vistelse. Samt så kunde man känna mögel/ unkendoft i badrummet så det kan vara värt att kolla upp avloppen. Helhetsmässigt så är vi nöjda med vistelsen. Nära till stranden. Trevligt poolområde. Bra rum och helt ok mat. Dessa punkter som nämns är lite små kritik.

Was old and didn't seem like anything had been changed since it was built. The room was small and in poor shape. Holes in the bed linen, broken shower head etc... The staff was nice and the outdoor facilities were okay. But totally shadowed by the poor indoor conditions.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - Der Strand ist schön und das Hotel ist riesig und sollt endlich renoviert werden. War ein spontaner Ausflug und viel haben wir nicht erwartet. In diesem Hotel bekommt man nicht das traditionelle oder heimische Essen, es ist eher eine Massenanfertigung aber dies ist verständlich bei so vielen Zimmern. Es war ok aber das Hotel würden wir Freunden usw eher weniger empfehlen. Das Personal bzw Kellner sind aus aller Welt somit verstehen auch die einheimischen hier kein wort 😂😂 etwas professioneller könnte das Ganze sein....
• Patricija (4/5): Great location - The hotel is huge, has 8 floors, accommodates many guests, which is an industry. Guests are treated by conveyor belt. The hotel is in a great location, to the sea 110 steps. The beach is great, good access to water, with showers, several food and drink bars available, deck chairs and umbrellas available (rent of 2 deck chairs and umbrella daily 80KN / 10EUR). From the beach a great link by boat to nearest Trogir (30KN return ticket). The hotel is old, but a little renovated. Breakfast is modest. Overdone bacon, weird scrambled eggs, beans and porridge every day. They don’t bake eggs on the eye at all. The staff at the bar next to the reception are very friendly. Rooms are small but cleaned every day. Swimming pool full of small children, you can not swim there. Parking is free on site. Too expensive hotel for this offer.

Der er alt for mange børn og mange af forældrene har ingen plig Morgenmaden er bedst tidligt om morgenen før de får for travlt med alle børnefamilierne.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Beautiful area, stay somewhere else. - A wonderful vacation to Croatia, with a terrific location in the area around Hotel Medena. The room was too full of furniture, the bed was terribly hard and the springs in the mattress were felt! The reception was pleasant and fast, however the service in the bar and restaurants were terrible, you felt more like an inconvenience than a customer. The breakfast buffet was the worst we have yet to try at a hotel, the bread was hard enough to be used as a throwing weapon. The surroundings were wonderful, and the beach and shops along it were a good addition to the trip. There were easy boattaxi access to Trogir. Would recommend the area, not the hotel.

• Emelie (8/5): Bra - Hade önskat större utbud på frukosten så som frukt och pannkakor. Trapporna ner till pool, hav och restauranger var fruktansvärda. Det gäller att vara ung och frisk. Annars var allt perfekt.
• Saga (8/5): Fint och fräscht - Fräscht hotell, lite mycket trappor ner till havet. Personalen i receptionen var inte alltid så serviceinriktad, berodde på vem som var där såklart. Nära till god mat vid stranden. Fin utsikt från rummet.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - Ett hotell helt utan ambitioner. Det här hotellet har ju helt enkelt redan gett upp försöket att vara bra och trevligt. Och det smittar tyvärr av sig på även personalen. Rummen små och det luktade mögel på rummet jag fick, en luftkonditionering som bara låter utan effekt. Inga bytta lakan på 5 dagar!? Däremot utsikten över havet var fantastisk. Men det värsta var ändå Maten, som tur var hade jag bara bokat frukost och inte all-inclusive (då hade jag blivit galen) frukosten var helt fantasilös och slutade med att sista dagarna åt jag bara vitt bröd och gurka. Nej jag kan tyvärr inte rekommdera detta hotell, det måste vara bättre än såhär. Beklagligt

• Henric (6/5): Välj annat boende. - Vi hade bokat ett superior family room. Rummet var väldigt litet och det kändes väldigt trång att bo i för 4 personer i de 11 nätter vi var där. Städarna skötte sitt jobb mindre bra och i slutet av vistelsen hade vi en myrinvasion i rummet. Ac:n var värdelös och det tog flera dagar att få ner temperaturen i rummet till en acceptabel nivå (ca 23 grader.) De första dagarna var temperaturen runt 26 grader i rummet vilket är alldeles för varmt när man varit i solen hela dagen. Frukosten var tyvärr ytterst medioker och den enorma slamriga och överbefolkade matsalen var väldigt otrevlig att vara i. Vi älskade området nere vid stranden där det fanns mycket att göra och många bra restauranger. Poolen var överbfolkad och för att ha en chans att få plats måste du vara där tidigt och paxa platser.. mitt tips är: betala för stolar på stranden istället. Värt varenda kuna! Åk gärna till området men jag hade valt annat boende. Helt klart inte värt de 19500 kr vi betalade. Halva priset hade känts mer rimligt.
• nathalie (4/5): Värsta hotellet - Jätte hemskt hotell , smutsiga rum , utsikten mot parken var utsikt mot skräphög och byggnad med grejer dom slängt , badrummet var en katastrof städerskorna hade inte städat alls innan vi checka in de var kvar sop påsar och färg hade börjat lossna från kakel på väggarna , spruckna väggar etc, en bäddsoffa var inte ihopbäddad då vi kom in utan blockera hela balkong dörren . Lakan hade dom behållt från dom tidigare eftersom jag hittade smuts på kuddarna. Världens minsta tv hittar du i dessa rum min iPad är lite mindre än den . Frukosten på hotellet är ungefär va man förväntar sig av ett sådant låg budget hotelll, hemskt mycket folk och barn . Detta är inget hotell för par utan barn eller någon som är ute efter lugn och ro , de är sjuka köer överallt . Maten är hemsk . Är du ute efter lite högre standard eller vill vara nöjd så boka absolut inte detta hotell. Usch.
• Verified traveler (2/5): - Das Hotel ist wirklich nicht zu empfehlen! Das Personal an der Reception ist sehr arrogant und einem weitergeholfen wird auch nicht. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht wirklich, der Kühlschrank kühlte nicht, das Bett war katastrophal. Alles wurde dem Hotel auch mitgeteilt und die Antwort war: Ja das ist so, kann man nicht ändern. Einzig positiv war, dass wir nicht mehr für den Urlaub bezahlt haben.

Obwohl unser Zimmer neu möbelisiert war, quitschte unsere Better, bei jeder Bewegung. Einige vom Personal waren auch unfreundlich. Der Preis passt definitiv zu dem was sie anbieten nicht. Für das Restaurant gibt keinen Lift. Was es für einige Personen den Zutritt erschwert. Sehr schade. Ich war enttäuscht .

• rachael (8/5): - The hotel is quiet old fashioned in parts and there are lots of steps to the pool, beach and terrace bars. The food in the hotel restaurant was not very good but there is a couple of restaurants at the beach which were nice and not expensive. The pool area is very good and I had a sea view room which although small was very nice. WIFI in the hotel was very bad/ non existent.
• Chloe (10/5): Great location, clean spacious rooms - Excellent location, 10 minute drive from Split airport, we hired a car at the hotel and drove to the beautiful Krka national park which took an hour. Rooms were newly refurbished and very spacious. We were half board, dinner was excellent plenty of choice. My only negative would be that some of the staff were rude. The pool bar staff were very friendly though. We had 2 children under 5 with us, they loved the childrens splash area.

• John (6/5): Nice location and view - Nice pool and beach facilities but over 100 steps to get down to the pool and back. Quite a few things that needed fixing in the room. Food was not that good. Nice view from room balcony. Then again it was only 3 star and you could argue that it was reasonable value for money. Surprisingly the reception staff seemed unaware of a lot of the local info for example they didn’t seem aware of the fact that you could book up excursions from the beach.

• Pablo (8/5): Good value for the money. Breakfast is poor. - We had a good stay in Trogir at the Medena Hotel. Renewed interiors, good concierge service. Dining was ok, not huge variety. Breakfast was boring after 3rd day so I'd recommend be prepare for eggs an sausage. In terms of lunch I must recommend the bar that's next to the beach for the burgers and salads. Very reasonably priced too for a hotel next to the beach. My only qualm was that the hotel restaurant for dinner closed a little too early each evening.
• Zack (8/5): Good family hotel with lots of facilities - My wife and I stayed for 10 days. At first we were allocated a poor room - we had booked a sea view and they tried to get us take one without. We stood our ground and they found a much better room with a side on sea view.
• Martine (4/5): - Staff doesn’t know what « customer service means », very rude. Food is terrible, old tomatoes and cucumber from the previous last dinner are served at the breakfast. Had to go to the local supermarket to buy my own food. Besides, he hotel itself and the ground is amazing. During my stay I discovered other places where I will go instead of coming back to Medina. Sorry, but for the price paid, you expect to be treated better than the way they treat you!
• Jeffrey (8/5): Great for families - Above expectations. Will definitely use again when next in Seget. The reception area and restaurant a bit on the 80’s feel but the rest of the hotel is modernised. Food - breakfast and dinner was good for the superior option.

• Khurram (6/5): - Property is quite old and gives a feeling of and old hospital ward. Rooms are spacious and clean and staff is friendly. This property is 40 minutes from split and expedia stated that it was 5 miles from split when I was looking for a hotel. I am more disappointed from expedia than the property.
• Robert (8/5): Medena is a Relic of Another Time - The Medena is a classic relic of socialist days. The massive hotel has seen better days but there are elements of the old days that are worth seeing and the rates are reasonable enough.
• Marie (8/5): Perfect 3 Star - Clean, basic and nice. Any small problems fixed swiftly. Maybe an extra juice machine or two needed for breakfast time but everything was great. Location and beach front perfect. Holiday beach vibe at hotel beach and cheap boat taxi to the towns like Trogir and Split. Beautiful towns but glad we stayed at this hotel with lovely beach. Great day trips from there as well! Small stones not sand were perfect, easy to walk on and no sand stuck to you!
