• T1226PJheatherm (10/5): Love this inn! - We have come to make this our home away from home when we do our drives between north and south. Super convenient to 81 and several very good restaurants nearby (watch out for Monday/Tuesday closures). We love the room with the galley kitchen so we can bring our own food if we choose. The rooms are always clean and the beds are super comfortable. Meticulous effort is made to have the outdoor grounds beautiful and inviting. So much nicer than a hotel!

• va-countrygirl2016 (10/5): Perfect spot for JMU Family weekend! - We had a wonderful stay! We came up to Harrisonburg for Family Weekend, but all of the hotels there were either full or too expensive. So glad I stumbled across Roadhaven 1830. It's an easy drive, about 30 minutes north of JMU. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything one could want or need...fridge, microwave, Keurig, glasses, to-go coffee cups, hairdryer, luggage rack, full-length mirror, coat hooks, even local tourist information. It is close to the interstate, so we coud hear the trucks when we first walked in, but the noise machine in the room blocked that out when we went to bed. We chose the summer night setting which matched the location perfectly. Linens were crisp and fresh and check-in and out was simple and fast. We would absolutely stay here again! :)

There were 2 rooms but in pictures kind of looked like 3 rooms. We stayed 2 nights and it was fine for us. We didn't get to enjoy the backyard with firepits and games but it also had jungle gym for kids which was very nice. Perfect location which was very close to ebike tour. Nice small town, had breakfast and Italian close by.

• Ulrike (7/5): - Die Häuschen sind sehr hübsch, ebenso die ganze Anlage irgendwo im Nirgendwo. Es fand zu unserem Zeitpunkt ein Besitzerwechsel statt. Küchenzeile schlecht ausgestattet.Es riecht leicht muffig. Die neuen Besitzer wollen aber renovieren. Der Autobahnlärm ist sehr störend.

• 787kelleyt (10/5): Perfect Romantic Getaway - The Family Farmhouse Inn was wonderful for our romantic getaway for Memorial Day weekend! The communication from Julie was great. We stayed in the Aloft which was absolutely perfect for our needs. The backyard was super cute and beautifully landscaped. We loved swinging on the swing and relaxing from all of our adventures from the day. It was quiet and you really don't notice the traffic noise from I-81. I would stay there again, it was a wonderful experience.

The Farmhouse was beautifully kept. We were in one of the two smaller buildings. The furnishing and space were very well kept. Clean, modern, and exceptionally well maintained. The lighting on the outside was excellent. Walking around at night was safe and well lit. The property overall is kept very well. 5 stars all around.

Personal touches included a sound machine, allergy resistant pillows, eco-friendly bath products. The farmhouse grounds are beautiful, with a ground checkers game, fire pit. The grounds were well lit at night. I would return to the Family Farmhouse Inn.

No central heating or cooling system, but enough room heaters to keep it warm on a 10F night. Beds are comfortable. Good location on I-81 for a night stay to visit Luray Caverns. The rooms are equipped with white noise machines to dampen the noise from the freeway, but not necessarily, especially on winter nights. Great hospitality and attention to details from the hosts. Kit is too small and could have been better equipped with some salt, pepper, sugar, coffee and tea bags.

The room was cozy, very clean, and had everything we could have wanted (Keurig, mugs, wine glasses, to go cups, shampoo, body wash, conditioner, etc). It’s also super neat to stay on such an old property. I just wish someone could have used the night we paid for but couldn’t use ourselves…

Some other reviewers mention breakfast, but the new owners don’t provide breakfast. Which is just fine. They do have a Keurig, fridge (with a freezer that WORKS!) plus a microwave, so mornings are just fine on your own. Loved the outdoor space, vegetable garden and just plain sweetness of the place. Close to other local attractions like a covered bridge and Shenandoah Cavern. Everything was so thoughtful, from excellent coffee selections and water bottles, to white noise machines and plenty of towels and soap. We were very well taken care of. The constant traffic noise from the highway detracted from the tranquil property. An a la carte breakfast or snack menu would be nice, like fresh breads with spreads and yogurt, to complete the bed and breakfast vibe.

• lindacI5660KK (10/5): Great find - My husband and I stayed at FF Inn on our way through town and enjoyed it so much we decided to stay two nights on our way back home. The grounds and gardens are well kept, the rooms are clean and comfortable, there are many games and activities in their huge back yard and plenty of seating. The innkeepers were lovely women who went out of their way to be sure we had a pleasant stay. We will absolutely stay there again when we are in the area!

The Inn provides all the comforts of home while traveling and we are looking forward to returning again in the fall and for years to come! Although there were others there we never heard them. Full cooking cottage with all amenities the only thing that would've helped was a dish drainer for washed dishes but I wade due. Very comfortable in every way.

We played multiple games in the Fun Yard and enjoyed the surrounding nature. The inn is located near local shops, wineries, and restaurants. During our stay, we drove into nearby Harrisonburg and enjoyed a winery, lavender farm, and a quaint farmer’s market. The inn owner’s attention to detail left us feeling well-taken care of. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay and visit!

• allid579 (10/5): Cozy and clean - Delightful, cozy and super Clean. Beautiful area out back to relax, enjoy a fire pit, and lots of outdoor activities. Such a beautiful area with historic meaning, quaint villages and winning wineries to suit every taste! Not to mention a fabulous intimate playhouse, Theatre Shenandoah .

• Margie (10/5): - Cozy, warm, period decor ... would love to live there! Farmhouse sits on a hill in an beautifully dyllic setting; everything beautifully maintain. Would choose an overnight here over any cookie cutter motel. So glad I found this place. A lot of history there and in the area.
• Krystal (6/5): Small cozy place good for a couple and maybe one child with a beautiful outdoor section. - She met us at the property to collect the keys when we walked in. It was short and sweet and to the point and that was great. She was super friendly and accommodating! A great host. The outdoor section is absolutely beautiful! It seems great for families and friends or even a wedding party. There's a gas fire pit, lots of games, a beautiful garden. Absolutely stunning. We enjoyed drinking tea near the fire on an evening after visiting the Luray Caverns and brining out our inner child taking turns on the tree swings followed by card games. SO much fun. It was much smaller than we thought. There is a plastic pull door separating rooms and I think that should have been displayed in the pictures (no real door). You can hear everything in the next room (not great for couples) and they have to walk through your room to go to the bathroom. Again, not great for privacy. There are also no hallways. There are just two rooms with a door opening to the first room (remodeled livingroom) and a sliding plastic curtain to another room with the couch, twin beds and tv. Luckily we are close friends, so we made due with the very imitate space, but I believe the photos should show the entire layout of the houses more.

• Ricky (10/5): - I loved our cottage the Spring House. Julie was a great host and showed us to our cottage and went over everything with us. They had plenty of things to do in the yard and I would love to go back when it’s warmer.
• Sophie (10/5): Beautiful location with a cozy room - The location of this inn was beautiful, we were very close to the downtown area, and less than 20 minutes away from Bryce Resort, where we were skiing. The background scenery was beautiful, and the room we stayed in was well decorated and cozy. The shower was small, and the room itself was pretty small as well, but it gave it a more cozy feel. There was a TV with free movies, as well as Netflix you could sign into if you wanted. The driveway had multiple parking spots, and there was room for four guest cars in the driveway itself as far as we could tell. There was also a big backyard area with a firepit, swing set, and yard games that we did not take advantage of but looked super cute. During our stay, the temperature dropped below freezing, but the space heater in our room kept the room plenty warm. When we arrived, the host met us at the front door and personally showed us to our room. She was very sweet and accommodating and we felt right at home during our stay here. Definitely recommend staying at the inn instead of a chain hotel for a more at home feel with a personal touch and a beautiful view. Since the facilities are older, if we wanted to use the microwave or blow dryer, we would have to unplug the heater to not blow a circuit, and we had to keep the sink on a little bit so the pipes would not freeze. This was no problem for us, and was all explained very clearly at the start.

• 993mr (10/5): Clean, comfortable and cozy! - there are so many treasures in the Shenandoah area...The farmhouse is one of them! If you need a place to stay that has the feel of home this, is it! Julie is a wonderful host and runs a great place.

• 316yelenag (10/5): Wonderful stay! - We stayed at Family Farmhouse Inn while visiting the Luray Caverns on a weekend getaway. The host was friendly and provided us with great tips for restaurants. The room was very comfortable, clean and had lovely decor. I recommend!
