Guest Reviews
- Guest (10/5): The hosts were efficient in responding to questions. The cabin is cute and cozy - The hosts contacted me with instructions.
- Trevor (9/5): - Beautiful setting and furnishings. The steps leading upstairs were difficult.
- Sherrill Martinez (10/5): We enjoyed this home very much and had everything we needed - Very nice home with good outdoor space; hosts that anticipated travelers' needs and communicated very well; very clean, comfortable, and well furnished I didn't mind the spiral staircase to the upstairs bedrooms, but someone with physical disabilities may not be able to handle the staircase

- ChrisNL (9/5): Cute cottage in the forest - Cute cottage up a small hill in a small cluster of houses a few miles outside Packwood. The fact that it has three bedrooms was important for us. The master bedroom is downstairs and is wonderful, the two other bedrooms are up a narrow spiral staircase that requires some caution, but these rooms are fine for both kids and adults.
The house is a good base for exploring Mount Rainier National Park: the Sunrise and Paradise areas are about a 1 hour drive. Packwood itself has several restaurants and a decent supermarket. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return to this cottage if we were to visit the area again. I wouldn't like to carry a baby up the spiral staircase and one shouldn't have any mobility issues when staying upstairs.
The wifi connection was good most of the time, but suddenly stopped late in the evening during 2 of our 3 nights here. There is good mobile reception for some networks, but apparently not for all.
- Marton (10/5): -
- Eveline (9/5): Prachtige cabin en mogelijkheid om buiten te zitten. Rustige omgeving. Host die snel reageert. -
- Adrian (5/5): Average cleanliness, excellent location for Mt Rainier hikes. - Excellent location for Mt Rainier hikes. Cleaning left a bit to be desired, we felt the owners had rushed eventhough we let them know we were checking in late in the evening. We found hairs in the bathtub, a moldy shower liner and various large (harmless) forest bugs in the living area and bedroom. Bedsheet although clean had old spots on it. Pillow cases did not smell fresh, we covered them with towels. Had these aspects been properly taken care of, it would've been an excellent experience, sadly they were as described. Otherwise decent experience and would probably recommend to anyone not keen on spotless conditions, as the property is in an excellent location close to Mt Rainier hikes.
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was very clean and we especially appreciated the soft, clean sheets and towels.
- Paul (10/5): Quiet and peaceful, just the way we wanted it - Stairs a little steep
- Jennifer (10/5): It was the perfect home base for our vacation. - Great proximity to Mt Rainier NP, and close to town with good restaurants and groceries. The cabin was very clean, comfortable, and cozily spacious.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): Close to town but off the beaten path - Quiet with lots of nature to watch and listen to. Hard time figuring out the television, not very tech savvy.
- Charles (10/5): - Fantastic access to four seasons of fun, great setup at a cozy cabin.
- Schmidt (9/5): Superb -
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Larry (8/5): Very good -
- Ariel (10/5): - Was a fantastic cozy stay! Everything was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed our time in town as well. Would stay here again. The only thing we didn’t like was the extremely steep driveway. Great communication from the cabin owner as well.
- Patricia (10/5): Lovely home away from home - It was a home away from home! Lovely touches all over, and had everything we needed for the 3 nights we stayed … kitchen was well stocked with lots of condiments, cooking and BBQ items, etc. Super love the view from dining table … bonus was we saw the Northern lights from there! Nothing!
- Nicole (8/5): Overall very good - Quiet, good kitchen with staples, great communication with hosts, wildlife around The only negative was the downstairs bed. It is very creaky and made alot of noise every time we rolled over
- Kimberley (9/5): Superb - So cute! Great for a couple kids, and an additional 2 bedrooms, wow! All we could need was already there, super well stocked for a family getaway. Would stay again!! Slightly precarious edge on fire pit, in the dark hard to see the hill side, so maybe a bit of light there or retaining wall, but we LOVED having a fire, AND watching the night sky and roasting marshmallows!
- Soo-yon (10/5): Good place to stay to hike or ski at Mt Rainier - The location and facilities are excellent. The water pressure on the shower could be higher. The shower is a convenient telephone style so it still is better than most showers.
- Christine L (10/5): - The cabin was great. It was spacious, well maintained and stocked with supplies. The owners, Mike and Grace, live next door to assist you if needed. We were close to the national park so it was convenient.
- Wilailuck (9/5): Superb -
- Greg (9/5): Superb -
- Elio (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic cabin !! An house I'd like to own.....Grace and Mike (owners) very thoughtfull, they live nearby and can help you for any issues. Top place to visit Mt Ranier area. Nothing.
- Smith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chee (9/5): Superb -
- Juliet (10/5): Exceptional - location, amenities at the cabin, quiet, lots of wildlife, friendly and warm hosts
- Pavla (10/5): Everything is perfect and more than you can expect. - Everything. Very nice equipped and decorated with love. You can find probably everything what you can need. Mike, the owner, is a very kind and helpful person.
- Hilary (9/5): Quiet, well-stocked cabin convenient to Packwood with great A/C! - We had a wonderful stay here! We especially appreciated the cabin's ability to stay cool, after many stays in Packwood over the years with subpar AC during heat waves. The cabin is incredibly well-stocked with just about anything you could think to need (dishware, spices & condiments, bathroom supplies). It's on a quiet street convenient to town & Mt. Rainier and the hosts are very available and helpful should you need something. Our only things that could be improved upon were that the knives for cooking were very dull, which made it a little harder to prepare dinner, and the bed was so soft, which just isn't to our liking.
- Theresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lovell (10/5): Exceptional - Location is awesome
- Heather (10/5): Wonderful cottage in Packwood - Very well designed space with everything we could possibly want. Great view, nice loft for our son, comfortable master bedroom. Easy distance to Mt Rainier and other hikes, etc. Town has all the basics. Slightly scary driveway, but we figured it out.
- Marta (9/5): Superb - great hosts, the cabin was waiting for us open (we were notified by text message), great view, nice neighborhood, we found everything we needed the bathroom would need a little update
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Excellent location, quiet neighborhood, glad for the washer and dryer. Easy access to Mount Rainier entrances. Fun public river access to cool off. Bed and pillows can use a refresh.
- Caleb (10/5): Even better than it looked! - This cabin exceeded our expectations and we really hope to return one day!
- Brett (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angie (10/5): - This was our second time staying there and we had an amazing time!
- Michaela (10/5): - Pros: Great location.
Charming; very clean and cozy. Everything worked. Remarkably well stocked. Very quiet, pretty views. Lovely little porch and outdoor seating. Owners very pleasant and welcoming. House was warm and welcoming when we arrived.
Cons: Spiral staircase extremely steep. Driveway very steep; backing up the driveway a bit daunting and not something a novice driver would feel comfortable doing.
- Logan (10/5): Great place for a family weekend getaway - The cabin was so well equipped and had way more available than I would have expected. Very comfortable and cozy and my kids loved the staircase and having a whole loft floor to themselves. The grills and fire pit were a nice touch too and it was so relaxing to sit on the porch in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee.
- Qing (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (10/5): - Great location, good communication with host, loved the cabin and my kids loved having their own hang out area upstairs.
- Evans (10/5): Amazingly beautiful 😍 with an amazing host! - It was a wonderful getaway. The door was unlocked for us on when we arrived, and the heat was on. It was a lovely place and I would definitely go again. Nothing
- Ali (10/5): Relaxing and quiet. - Enjoyed the cabin like feel, the quietness it brings being in the woods. Along with exploring the great outdoors.
- Leslie (8/5): - Mike and Grace were awesome in their responsiveness to questions and for their advice in touring the area. The cabin in ideal for visiting Mt. Rainier and is fully equipped for any stay. It is a comfortable homey place, and we would stay there again.
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimberly (8/5): Cozy, peaceful beautiful area to stay! - Cozy, beautiful views. Cabin had a lot of supplies to make you feet at home.We made dinner and breakfast. It was very peaceful there The driveway up to the cabin is quite steep with a sharp turn where you have to back up. The spiral stairs up to the loft are kind of treaturous. It's a bit scary to go up and down. The top railing is coming out from the wall, so be careful not to pull on it.
- Kimberly OLeary (10/5): - We absolutely loved this cabin!! It was clean, cozy, and has a breathtaking view of the mountains from the large glass window in then living room. With a large porch the length of the house you can have coffee on the porch and watch the sun rise! There are two bedrooms upstairs so you could truly accommodate a whole family here. The hosts greeted us by email as soon as we booked and gave clear instructions to the cabin and were very hospitable! The cabin really feels like a home with lots of personal touches. There was a wood burning stove in the living room that we would’ve loved to have tried out but it wasn’t quite cold enough yet. The location was 14 miles from Mount Rainer National Park and we found a great place to eat in Packwood for dinner which was only around 2 miles from the cabin. We truly couldn’t have been more pleased with our accommodations!!! We’ll definitely go back!
- Yun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): - Property was cute , clean, and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more. The owners were helpful and easy to communicate with, very accommodating. Would definitely recommend.
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- Shaama (10/5): - Great stay
- Yimin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Comfortable home - Me my wife and granddaughter stayed in the home. It was as described and had everything you would need. Even a fire pit and sticks to make smores!
The beds were comfortable and we found the home to be very clean. The spiral staircase was a fun feature. We had plenty of room for the three of us and would stay here again if we are in the area. We visited Sunrise Visitor Center which is about an hour away. Thank-you for being responsive and sharing your home.
- Harry (10/5): Exceptional - Cabin was well stocked. Everything was well cleaned and maintained.
- Kaitlin (10/5): Peaceful and just what we needed - Location
- Marta (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely fantastic atmosphere! We felt at ease and welcome. The cabin is very well equipped. We have spent a good time at the property - definitely too short ;-)
- Danya (10/5): Wonderful cabin in the woods- and near gas station for ice and other necessities. - Really well stocked. Appreciated all of the condiments and dishes, especially exceptional for cooking meals. Very comfortable bed and pillows! The stay was perfect!
- Natalie (10/5): Idyllic, peaceful, nature - The setting for the cabin is spectacular and the host Mike, was beyond helpful and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable, including recommendations for our next stops. Highlight were sitting on the terrace with deer grazing nearby, and the views down the track from the breakfast table. Clean and well equipped, this is a smallish place, but plenty for the two of us. You'd want to put kids or more athletic group members up in the loft area because of the steps, but we stayed on the ground floor and honestly, could not have enjoyed it more. Close to Packwood and a range of walks nearby, wish we'd had a week instead of a few days and it still wouldn't have been enough. Like I said, the steps up to the loft bedrooms are pretty adventurous, but if you don't need to get up in the night, or you're pretty handy on a spiral staircase, you'll be fine. We managed the driveway just fine if you follow Mike's instructions.
- Jennifer (10/5): Great place to stay when visiting Mt. Rainer. - It was a super cute cabin that had everything we could want. Nothing we didn’t like
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb -
- Lance (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and convenient.
- Cole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Mike and Grace were awesome hosts and made sure we had a great time. The location was beautiful and comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed the stay! Would love to revisit.
- Nathan (10/5): Great! -
- Ken (10/5): Close to Mt. Rainier in a small town. - The cabin was very homey and in a quiet neighborhood. The owners live next door and had great communication prior to our stay. The location is close to Mt. Rainier National Park and Packwood is a nice town with restaurants.
- Rajeev (10/5): - We had a very comfortable stay at this property and the hosts were warm and friendly and communicated really well and answered all our questions. It’s a really cute place with a few dining options close by and not far from Mt Rainier!
- Kirt (10/5): Exceptional - Location was beautiful. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed to cook our own meals. Our hosts were very responsive to our questions.
- Mary (8/5): Cozy, character home - Cozy and so much character! Felt very welcoming and like home. The property is really well stocked and well equipped with everything you may need, inside and out. Lovely surroundings and conveniently close to the eastern entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. We had an older family member staying with us who was not able to manage the spiral staircase, which is a bit tricky; not a big issue as it just meant she had to use the downstairs bedroom. Just something to keep in mind when considering sleeping arrangements, etc.
- Jonathan (10/5): Doesn't get much better - Great location. Perfect for family or small group stays. Would like to have stayed a few more days, but our schedule for this trip pushed us on. If we ever make it back to this area, we will look for this place to stay again.
- Paul (10/5): - Memorial Day Flea Market, and Mt. Ranier
- Dave1509 (10/5): Beautiful fully furnished apartment close to Mount Rainier that provided all the comforts of home. - Property beautifully maintained and had all that an overnight traveller would require for a one night stay. We were sorry our stay could not have been longer. We were advised to reverse up the driveway. This did not go well with our vehicle the first time so we subsequently went in front first and reversed. Was not particularly easy but less of a strain on the vehicle.
- Dan (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): - I cannot say enough about the property that we stayed at with Mike and Grace. The house is perfect for a family of four. Of course for us it was just right. Upon entering the property the house is extremely clean. Had plenty of towels and wash cloths even had extra soap and shampoo if you happen to forget yours. One also wonderful thing was the fact that there was a coffee pot with coffee Sugar, assorted teas. And in the refrigerator, they kindly have stocked multiple condiments for your use. They have a full kitchen and oven. Unfortunately, on our journey we did get lost, but Mike was so kind to respond to my text messages letting us know that he would talk us all the way in to the property from the main highway. If we are ever out west again, we will definitely be staying there.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Just outside of Packwood, easy drive to White Pass for skiing.
- Shana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shawna (10/5): The hosts are wonderful! - What a great little cabin! The hosts have thought of everything! We liked everything. The power went out due to a storm and it made it a perfect romantic little overnight for us!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chichioco (9/5): Superb -
- Regie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kenneth (8/5): Very good -
- Snejana (10/5): - The cabin is was very clean and cozy. Feels like home. Great location to hike to Silver Falls and Mount Rainier from Paradise visitor center. The host was extremely helpful and detailed in every area that we had questions about.
- Rosalie (9/5): thank you for you beautiful cabin and hoping that we can come back someday. thank you for your service and we love your - The owners of the property and the place is definitely clean, organize, smells good and provided what we needed. nothing
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (10/5): Cozy, misty, secluded location that was great for a rest after long hiking days. Great stay! - The cabin was in a beautiful location up on a ridge overlooking other cabins and the mountains. There was pancake mix and some other essentials. Coffee every morning was great! Nothing I dislike honestly. The cabin was probably more than my brother and I needed for our stay, but it was very comfortable and cozy.
- DIEGO (10/5): -
- Melinda (10/5): perfect place to explore mt rainier - perfect place to explore mt rainier
- Holly (10/5): I highly recommend this cozy & well stocked cabin to anyone traveling to Mt Rainier NP. - This charming and cozy cabin sits right off of Rte 12 in Packwood. This is the most well equipped/stocked cabin/cottage we've ever stayed at. The host is so welcoming, from detailed pre-check in information on the property to check in process to post check-out wishes. We enjoyed dining in the living/dining/kitchen area with the large picture window that looks directly onto the foliage trees/mountains. Beds were super comfortable, though there were just 2 of us, but the cabin is large enough for a whole family, with additional beds/bedroom in the loft upstairs. None. Everything was perfect.
- Heather (8/5): Very good -
- Jay (10/5): Highly recommend. - Hosts were very kind and easy to communicate with. Property was as described, very clean and cute. Would stay again for sure. Nothing
- Vicky (9/5): Superb -

The area of Packwood had a great small town charm.
We will totally stay again if we are in the area!
