Guest Reviews
- Mark (7/5): -
- Christopher (9/5): - Comfy room above a cosy, friendly bar.
- Iain (10/5): - Lovely, friendly pub with great selection of beers and great pub food!
Staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome! All great!
- Joanna (8/5): -
- Broughton (10/5): - Great room - attached to a very well kept pub with great beers
- john (8/5): -
- SCOTT (8/5): -
- Laura (7/5): -
- Helen (9/5): - Accommodating and welcoming
- Robin (10/5): Excellent in every way! - With Elizabethan wonkiness, charming hospitality, exceptional pub menu and a very fine selection of real ales, this place surpassed expectations in every way. Would very happily stay here again. Nothing, it was all good.
- Stephen (9/5): Good value, comfortable accommodation, good food in a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere - Pleasant location, right on the main road so easy to find
Attractive traditional pub, no music!
Good food and service
Large indoor seating area, comfortable and relaxing to be in Not much really
- Guest (8/5): -
- Nigel (9/5): Ideal little pub with real old world charm - Nice old pub with atmosphere Noisy fridge pumps
- Philip (10/5): Great stay in a lovely pub 🙌 - Great food very comfortable bed 0
- Howard (10/5): Typical pub noise in the evening so advise ear plugs if you wish to sleep. Food excellent. - Exceptional quality to the food being served. Staff in the evening excellent.
The premises may not suit everybody but for me it was fascinating. Wattle and daub walls in my bedroom and bare wooden beams. Room was full of character. Flooring warped with age added to the charm. Ordered a cooked breakfast for 9am. So I could start work around the corner at a school by 9:35am Had to answer an important call and arrived for breakfast at 9:10 Asked if I wanted cereal or straight to cooked breakfast. Full English. Had to wait around 15 minutes. So the message that the evening staff had noted down was not read the following day.
- Nicholas (9/5): Would definitely come back. - Great selection of real ales, room was first class. Staff friendly and helpful. Stairs a bit dark.
- Anne (8/5): A comfortable and warm room with individual touches. - Generous complimentary drinks, tea, chocolate, coffee plus kettle, bottled water and even sherry. Also good quality toiletries in full-sized containers rather than small sachets. Not the fault of the property and I think it's compulsory to have a bright green night light for 'safety'. I found this one too bright and intrusive.
- Iain (8/5): Great staff....comfortable room. - Breakfast was an additional payment. See above
- simon (10/5): - food, pub, private entrance
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Ollie (10/5): Will definitely recommend and come and stay again - Just an awesome place me and my colleagues loved it Not much
- helen (9/5): Memorable for all the right reasons - Really helpful owner/landlord, great pub atmosphere, great choice of beers, will be staying again
- Higgins (10/5): -
- Tom (10/5): Perfect as always. - We have stayed here previously. We will stay again. Rooms are very comfortable, well stocked with tea, coffee and water.
Downstairs is a vibrant, friendly pub. Food most nights of the week and a good Indian restaurant close by on the nights they don’t.
Recommended. Nothing.
- Thomas (8/5): Hope to return again soon. - Food was top-class.....and Staff very helpful and pleasant. Situation could not be bettered Nothing to fault
- Joanna (4/5): it was the only room available on that night - nice staff on arrival The bedroom was a charity shop from the 1970's, although it was spacious. There wasn't any decent coffee. There was a quiz underneath my bedroom with several music rounds that I could hear every note of which went on until 10pm so I couldn't relax and watch the TV and reading a book was distracting. when I mentioned it the next morning at check out the man didn't even respond or apologise that I was inconvenienced.
- Alissah (6/5): It was nice. Great coffee shop down the road - You don’t see this in Australia Not much
- Wendy (9/5): Welcoming and full of character - Loads of Character and the bed was so comfortable
- Louise (8/5): - Great pub stay in Bramley, was in a great location and clean and comfortable
- Miles (8/5): -
- Charmian (8/5): -
- john (9/5): -
- Zoe (6/5): It's okay - Nice quaint country pub serving tasty dishes and a good Sunday carvery Owners could be friendlier, but the other staff are welcoming
- MICHAEL (7/5): -
- Pei (6/5): - 是小小的家庭式酒店,和一個酒吧在一起,250年历史的建築,但室內溫馨,床品也非常好用,還備3酒給免費品嘗。 沒有電梯,搬箱子累。還有價錢貴
- Eric (9/5): Very pleasant - The room was lovely breakfast was ample WiFi not strong
- Andy (10/5): Perfect for us visiting for a nearby restaurant wedding. - A lovely old fashioned pub with cosy old fashioned rooms.
- Eleanor (8/5): Beautiful place, great staff, would stay again - We had a lovely room, with an ensuite bathroom (no shower - not an issue for us) with stunning traditional beam-work and a seating area which was well-equipped with drinks. The bed was comfortable. The pub downstairs was fantastic, and bar service was great. We would happily stay again, and hope for quieter neighbours! We followed requests to ensure that volume was kept down late in the evening when we returned to our room, so as not to disturb other guests. Unfortunately, there was no suggestion of doing the same early morning (breakfast served from 9am), and we were woken (with no chance to get back to sleep) by other guests pre-6am on Sunday morning.
- Bonnie (9/5): Pleasant stay - good consistent service - Clean and comfortable Parking can be tricky if the pub is busy
- Amanda (7/5): - Nice local pub with good food and a comfy bed. Slight noise as it was quiz night but very little really.
- simon (7/5): - Very helpful staff
- MATTHEW (8/5): -
- Russ (10/5): Best nights sleep 💤 in a long time. - Very warm welcome, an exceptional nights sleep and quirky surroundings (in a good way!) Disappointed couldn’t stay longer
- Emma (8/5): Comfortable, friendly & ‘jolly’ - The staff are friendly, it has a charm to it with the bar & restaurant to eat in downstairs with lots of curios to enjoy. The pub meal was good. The room was large and comfortable - more than we expected and it has parking available. Nothing - it was a great one night stay whilst visiting family.
- Stewart (10/5): Satisfied - The staff Nothing to report
- Abigail (8/5): Very convenient for our needs and friendly staff - Very friendly, accommodating staff and a pretty village location, optimally positioned for the nearby wedding venue. Walls are a bit thin, could hear telephone conversation in next door room - but this was not at antisocial hour, so not disruptive.
- Peter (9/5): -
- Nathan (5/5): Ok - It was ok. It was just ok.
- Lisa (7/5): Great apart from the above issues - Close to where I was working The room had no hair washing facilities. IE no shower or attachment on the taps. No food (which was ok) as there was a good Indian next door. No breakfast before 8.30 crazy for business clients & maybe ok at weekends.
- James (10/5): -
- Peri (7/5): -
- Jeanette (9/5): Would 100% stay again - Food was fabulous and perfect for taking your dog. Walking them was great too, there is a disuse railway line turned into a eco walk just across the road. Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Nothing
- Banks (9/5): A lovely local pub! - Such a lovely place, the room was comfortable and homely, and very clean.
The bar area was welcoming and warm, and the team were fantastic, always happy to help. N/a
- Samantha (9/5): -
- John (8/5): - Lovely private room with great views of the amazing church opposite. Would definitely come again Traffic noise but that's only to be expected on a corner location.
- Paola (8/5): Un’esperienza imperdibile dormire in un pub - Dormire in un pub e’ un’esperienza da fare Il bagno senza doccia solo vasca no doccino
Quindi o ti fai il bagno oppure non ti lavi
- Howard-Williams (7/5): -
- Stuart (8/5): Really nice stay in Bramley - Highly recommended. - Very nice place in town. Really attractive old pub. Quiet. Had dinner and breakfast there - very good! Room a little claustrophobic, and no shower attachment, but we only slept there. Steve even gave us a lift to the local venue we had to get to - really kind. All in all very enjoyable! Nothing really... Apart from... no, I wont.
- Matt (8/5): Good apart from the WIFI. - Nice room, cleam and comfortable. WIFI was terrible and virtually unusable.
- Stef (8/5): - Lovely old fashioned pub with rooms, will stay again when travelling in the area.
- Ronald (10/5): -
- Seth (9/5): Quirky- recommended - This is a pub, first and foremost, that sells a great variety of beer and ales, not ordinarily found in your everyday pub. The interior has a vast array of countryside/agri paraphernalia, posters and signs. The curious could spend hours trying to study it all.
The room was just upstairs, very close to the bar/dining area. It was very comfortable with very clean sheets/towels etc.
The breakfast (cereals and full English) was very tasty and cooked fresh. A great portion, too. Chris and Claude served us well. The room was hot, but this is an old building with no A/C, obviously. It was c. 30deg C outside.
- Gordon (8/5): Great real ale pub with good food -
- David (10/5): 3rd visit know exactly what to expect! - Everything; Staff,Food,Amazing drink selection especially alcohol free beer for drivers/riders. Nothing!
- Nigel (8/5): Very good - Room was smallish but well appointed with clean bathroom and shower. Continental breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, cereals and toast. In our room we heard the hum of air-conditioning? all night, which was a little annoying.
- Andrew (8/5): Characterful pub and accomodation. - Plenty of parking and pub has a lot of character, as well as plenty of beers to choose from. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the very comfortable and quite double room.
- Alastair (9/5): Superb - Very good
- Peter (9/5): Happy stays - Great place great atmosphere great staff Nothing
- Neil (8/5): Very good - lovely property the sofa bed was very poor
- Simon (10/5): The room was great as was the service - The room was great. I could access the car park in my work van which caused me a few issues.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (10/5): Cozy cottage style accommodation - Lovely traditional pub & room
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Very friendly, comfortable.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (4/5): Disappointed - Smell of stale chip fat through bar and upstairs to bedroom.
Evening entertainment so loud beneath bedroom I could not hear the tv.
No breakfast available. Or any other food. Guest pay night before for accommodation as no one in charge on site in the morning for departures .
No wardrobe in bedroom. I few hangers behind a bit of curtain.
- Big (8/5): Very good - The setting of where the pub is, is beautiful & there's lots of quirky wee bits around the village, the Pub has so much charm about it, it's an old place, but the way that they've kept the place to the tradition what it's meant to be is outstanding. The mattress could have been more comfy, but apart from the small details, it's a lo Ely place to stay.
- John (8/5): A good choice of Surrey stopover - Good size room, the sherry was an unexpected treat. Evening meal and choice of beers excellent. Breakfast v good too especially the croissants
- Peter (10/5): Happy stay - Everything Nothing
- Sally (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (9/5): Superb - Lovely traditional pub, food was good
- Dave (8/5): Very good - Great location for my needs, with good bus service to and from Guildford. Very friendly and helpful staff, room clean and well equipped.
Good menu and I certinlay enjoyed my evening meal.
Would certinlay stay here again.
- Teresaf007 (8/5): Comfortable stay with good food - Helpful hosts and lovely food at dinner.
- Stephen (8/5): Relaxing stay, comfortable bed. - Parking, good beer, nice old building but modern comfort. Breakfast extra
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely wonderful!!
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Julian (8/5): Very good - Good breakfast, exceptional selection of beers at bar Shame no food offered on Monday/Tuesday evenings wish I'd known that in advance.
- Andrew (5/5): Convenient location for our needs and requirements for the weekend - Food excellent and all the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately the room was not up to the standard we were expecting, mainly due to the bed and bathroom facilities. I understand that it is a very old building, but needs a lot of TLC in terms of decoration within the bedroom we occupied. A lot of fittings, radiator in bathroom rusty, bath and WHB need fittings replacing , wardrobe, bed and other furnishings need replacing/updating. See above
- Tony (9/5): Superb - Welcoming staff, nice friendly atmosphere. Good quality food at sensible prices Shower in the room was not great
- Georgina (10/5): Lovely pub hotel - Great accomodation in an historic building with ample parking. Beautifully clean and with all the extras you’d expect from an hotel. Nervous about using the toilet with so many warning signs!!
- Clive (8/5): Enjoyed. - Staff very pleasant. Comfortable and clean room. Excellent breakfast.
- Nigel (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - White fluffy towels, the glass of sherry and the shower Nothing, just a tad hot for us
- Judy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (10/5): Lovely place to stay. - Beautiful old public house. Steeped in history.
Staff are super friendly. Rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great.
Well recommended. Nothing.
- Zoe (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pauline (6/5): Pleasant - Room was warm and cosy breakfast not until 8.30 am, I had to leave by then so went on an empty stomach
- Erold (8/5): i would love to go back just eat - We had dinner. One of the best if not the best meals I've ever had in a pub. The staff were very helpful Not use to a normal size double bed.
- Aster (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic breakfast!
