Guest Reviews
- Luke (5/5): - Unique design, nice balcony to sat on Run down, mostly clean. Floors are torn and cut hazard. There were bats in the house also which was scary at times. Just a little run down.
- Karen (6/5): Magnetic Island is lovely but if we return we wouldn’t stay at The Pines - The architecture What was particularly disappointing was The Pines is located in what is basically a housing estate (not shown in photos)No privacy at all from neighbours including builders directly beside outdoor dining deck. Adjacent property rents space to campervans and entertains campers with outdoor cinema screen! No blinds in any rooms so fully exposed at night especially with lights on. Not peaceful at all.
- Lori (7/5): Rated 7 clearly would have been 8/9 if wifi - Location , size No wifi , challenging if an emergency or just needing to communicate
Without wifi need to have guides for guests of things to do
- Antoine (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning house in a quiet neighborhood
- Bronwyn (8/5): Beautiful rustic house with a glamping feel to it. - Loved the authentic vibe to the house, it really was a beautiful home.
The layout off the bedrooms/ bathroom and main living area was great.
Loved listening to the wildlife at night. Just a bit to open for us felt like we had no privacy, but we were okay with that as the area was so quiet and hardly any traffic come through.
Also Kids didn't like the no WiFi... they were lost without it but it was good to have a break from technology.
Overall beautiful house and I would definatly recommend to others to stay there.
- Lindsay (10/5): I only wish we could have stayed longer and my Mum had been there, as the ambience relaxed us. - We loved the location.
The Pines is near the mountain and, at present, a vacant block.
In the evenings Wallabies come in to feed and birds can be seen and heard.
My partner thought he heard a koala growl!
The Pines is an architectural masterpiece combining wood and steel.
The space and light are utilised beautifully in the lounge, dining, kitchen areas.
The beds are comfy and plenty of cupboard space and drawers for clothes.
The space is really interesting and there is plenty of outdoor areas to relax, including a secure area for children.
There’s a bath that’s in a semi enclosed area so you feel like you might be outside.
Good hot showers.
Great laundry with washing machine and dryer.
The lounge had a comfortable sofa.
TV .
There are books and games.
The kitchen has a ceramic cooktop.
There are plenty of utensils, crockery, pots and pans etc
The place may be a few years old now,but it is stunning!
It provided us with a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy it and Magnetic Island.
We only wish we could have stayed there longer! The sink in the bathroom seemed to have water leaking over it and bathroom cabinets need some attention as have rust.
- Gary (8/5): Very good - It was spacious and comortable. We liked the surrounds. Loved the wallabies. Very peaceful. The staff at Best of Magnetic were very friendly and helpful. Lovely people. The appliances were old and did not all work properly. The TV had no signal, the air con remotes had flat batteries, one fan could not be switched off and two of the stove elements failed in the last couple of days. The cleaning staff were rather resentful when we asked them to vacuum the house. Not very friendly. We would have expected everything to work properly considering the very expensive cost - more than $4800.
- Martin (10/5): We would strongly recommend a stay at the Pines. - The house has a lovely layout and quiet location. All the rooms are comfortable with louvres to connect to the outside. If you have a car, this is a great location. There's lots of wallabies around. The speakers for playing music were broken. There was no internet connection.
