• MYRA (8/5): The location was not ideal but the staff and the room were fine. - The staff were great. The room was OK. Parking was a bit hit and miss
• Meg (8/5): Great location and value - Perfect location. Very convenient and great staff. Very spacious room rooms with everything that you need. The bed and the pillows were not very comfortable they were okay for a night, but they weren’t the comfiest.
• Pauline (9/5): Great. Would definitely stay again if visiting Chester. - Friendly staff. Great food. Excellent location for theatre, racecourse and exploring the city. Can be noisy during the night and first thing in the morning but that’s to be expected when in a city centre.
• Kate (8/5): - Great location, breakfast was good and value for money. Room was large. Very noisy at night and first thing in the morning from the pubs below and nearby & deliveries from 6am onwards. Didn't realise there would be no shower gel but used the hand soap.

My room was quite noisy with street noise and noise coming through from the adjacent room.

• DIANE (9/5): Fabulous stay! - Perfectly located in the heart of Chester. Our room was great, overlooking a main street below, very comfortable and spacious. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, we both had steak which was perfectly cooked! Really enjoyed our stay and will be back Everything was great

• Debbie (8/5): Overall it was a fantastic stay. - Loved the location. Hotel was very clean. Staff were very attentive. On the website it stated half price for bottles of wine however when I asked the question I was told that this should not have been on the website. Furthermore the member of staff removed a sign saying half price for a bottle of wine. I think that he should have honoured this as I was a paying customer staying at the hotel.

Dirty behind bedside snd edges . Room smelt musty . Bathroom needs a good all round clean . Breakfast only ok, sausage skin hard , bacon the same. Poached egg not runny .

• Mark (3/5): Comfy bed, dirty bathroom. - Location was great, and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was disgusting. There were someone else’s hairs in the bath. Stains on the walls and the underside of the toilet seat looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks.

• Helen (4/5): Noisy and needs updating. But room clean and comfortable. - Breakfast good We felt the property needs some updating although the room and bathroom was clean. Unfortunately the noise from the bar downstairs was so loud late into the evening we were unable to get to sleep.

The staircase to the rooms very scruffy, carpets filthy. Room no 5 which is supposed to be a deluxe room was of poor standard. It is a large room but dated. The bathroom needs a refurb. The grout between the floor tiles has crumbled away. It Also felt like it needed a good clean, hair in the bath, toilet rolls sat on thick dust. I’m not one to write reviews but if I had read this then I wouldn’t have booked it.

Although I’ve never, in my entire life, had the urge to put a teabag down the toilet……until reading the slightly odd notice in the bathroom telling me not to. I then spent the rest of my stay fighting back the urge 🤣
