Guest Reviews
- Jehad (10/5): - I like that I felt I was in my own home.
The Internet was fast.
The backyard.
The location is a few minutes to Canterbury bus station. Nothing
- Stott (9/5): Very nice, comfortable and well presented place to stay. -

- kapumpa (9/5): Enjoyed our stay at Turi house. We will definitely visit again - Very nice quiet place and close to town centre Na
Lrelse.
- Steele (10/5): -
Cucina sporca.

- Gwen (7/5): Good for a long weekend to explore Canterbury without breaking the bank - Great central location, easy walking distance to Canterbury city centre. Extra facilities were available as property was obviously a home at some point, therefore guests have use of the kitchen and I guess the lounge as this was all open. Far the owner was very helpful, communication was excellent. Parking on site (if spaces available). Not much really. The yale door lock on the room we were in could do with being fixed as the snib was missing, which meant we got locked out as the door closed when we were out on the landing and we didn't have the keys to get back in. Realised other guests could be heard very easily, might just be because it's a fairly modern house and the walls are mainly stud walls. Bathroom - shower over bath was a little awkward, especially if you are over 6 feet like my Husband, as the ceiling is lower over the shower head area.
- Annie (10/5): Stay has been good - The owner of the property answers to messages promptly. They have unlimited supplies of tea and coffee. Kitchen and utensils are clean. There is a dedicated secured parking at tbe back of the property which I thought I have to pay but ended up not paying. The shower
- Sandra (10/5): -
- holly-anne (10/5): Home away from home - Host was very friendly Nothing
- holly-anne (10/5): Warm and comfortable in a great location - Very homely and inviting Nothing
- Nicola (6/5): - Posizione, prezzo, host disponibile Stanza rumorosa poi cambiata, letto scomodo, pulizia migliorabile
- Gary (9/5): Great weekend getaway - Bedroom was a little small, but the rest of the property was good. Location great Room a little too small
- aidan (1/5): Don’t even stay as it’s a hostel with odd people stating. Felt very unsafe! And refused refund! Stay away - Nothing It’s a hostel but they don’t tell you that when booking, we turned up to weird men in the property
- Karen (8/5): - Pleased with our room and access to kitchen - though they ran out of milk for our constant cups of tea. Didn't see the hosts at all but had contact with them. Off the beaten track for Canterbury old city but we liked the 10-15 minute walk.
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Silvia-Theodora (3/5): Quite disappointing. - The location is great. The communication with the host could’ve been better, I didn’t get any instructions on how to enter the property until I got there and I had to call. The room wasn’t cleaned properly (we found stains and rips in the bed sheets, spider webs in the room, a leftover toothpick from the previous guests in the bathroom). The walls are very thin and you can hear what everyone else staying in the house is doing at all times, which caused us to not get proper rest at all. The house shakes everytime someone slams a door and unfortunately one of the guests woke us up at 7am on a Sunday as he was yelling on a phone call for 2 hours. I don’t understand why this place has such great reviews, it really isn’t that nice in reality. I got very mislead by the reviews, otherwise I would’ve never chosen to stay here.
- Andrew JEFFRIES (1/5): Distastrous. We couldn't get in the door and were faced with a dirty room and threatening behaviour - The location seemed to be good. The bedroom was very dirty ( ie the carpet was very stained ) and the kitchen was piled high with other people's things. There was a man there who was very threatening and apparently known to the owner and staying in the house. He made very strange comments when he saw we were not happy .. that were highly sarcastic and we found them threatening. The owner promised us a full refund however we have tried to obtain that and he doesn't cooperate and has refused to keep his word. I would not not recommend staying here at all.
- Katie (8/5): -
- Sabine (8/5): -

- Fay (6/5): Great location, budget option for exploring Canterbury. - The location was excellent. Within walking distance to the Cathedral. Large shared kitchen and living room made it easy to cook and eat there some days. Many supermarkets within 5 mins walk. Easy parking. It was not well maintained or cleaned. It was a low cost place to stay for a few days so we had low expectations. But basic things like the kitchen, living room, carpet in room and the bathroom really need a good deep clean. The boiler perhaps needs maintenance as it ticked loudly all night.
- Akhil (5/5): - Heater was not working
- Alba Cabrera (8/5): -
- Robert (10/5): -
- Linda (8/5): Warm, clean and comfortable, near to where we wanted to be. - Great location to enjoy the city. Left alone to get on with what we wanted to, really good value for money. Nothing to dislike.
- Robert (8/5): -
- Carolyn (6/5): Spacious room on edge of town but noisy at night - Spacious room with comfortable bed and large bathroom. Kitchen downstairs with kettle and complimentary tea and coffee. 15-20min walk to centre of town. Waitrose nearby. Unfortunately was on a busy road and double glazing inadequate so disturbed by traffic noise at night - not good for light sleepers. Poor sound insulation - we were woken at 130am by other guests talking loudly and banging doors in room below. Heating unreliable - was cold on arrival, and then heating came on unexpectedly in middle of night on second night - we hadn't made any changes. Possibly other guests had access to heating controls for entire house.
- Maryna (10/5): - Excellent location Not applicable
- Teresa (10/5): - Big and very space room
- Erich (10/5): Pleasant host and accomodations - The hosts were very accommodating. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay at the Turi House as a previous occupant extended their stay, but the hosts put us in another property closer to the center of town and around shopping that fit out needs perfectly. It made the trip quite comfortable knowing we were taken care of. There was stress learning about no longer having our spot because of a previous occupant extending, but we were placed in another spot that fit our needs without issue.
- Adele (7/5): We were moved to Perigrine house, so this review is for there - Large room, huge bed. Convenient location
- murisa (10/5): Great place, definitely recommend!! - The room is big and bed is comfy, lovely location not far from town. local shops are near by, average two mins. Good facilities and quite neighbourhood. Definitely recommend!! a little bit of dust on the wall and bathroom other than that lovely place!
- Michel (10/5): A pleasant time in Canterbury. - Location for the cathedral area was very good. The bedroom was pleasant. The kitchen was well equipped. Everything was fine.
- Nicola (8/5): - Nice spot. Near good Bar and fabulous tuscan restaurant and easy access to town center
- Simon (8/5): - Good location to centre of town
- Ajmail (10/5): Great place.Great Location.
Great. - Everything was perfect.
Very comfortable and clean.Toiletries provided.
Room cleaned.Large bedroom.
Shared living room is very clean and modern too.Even has a coffee machine.Excellent value for money.Great location.
Host was very accommodating and easy to get hold of.Will definitely book again if in the area. Nothing.
- Paul (9/5): -
- Grant (9/5): - Comfy bed, quiet, clean, close to everthing.
Would certainly reccomend staying here.
(We were here for 4 nights) Not much noise protection between rooms, but in saying that everyone seemed to be very mindfull of each other....so not a huge problem .
- Davila (9/5): - It was clean and the main areas would be awesome if staying longer. The location was great for walking around. It wasn’t very clear how to get in to the room. But after we figured that out everything was good. To help others you need to call number on door for code to get in.
- Assam (9/5): - Neat, cozy and comfortable....Big room
- A (6/5): -
- Balkees Tallas (10/5):
- Clara (9/5): - Excellent and perfect stay for our needs. Nothing
- Jim McGregor (8/5): - Big room, has everything you need
- Faruq (8/5): Clean and well-tidy house - Ideal location for my stay, very tidy and clean house, with a soft and comfortable mattress. I would likely stay at Turi House again if I have a reason to visit Canterbury. It was challenging to fall asleep at night because I could hear footsteps walking up and down the floor. I don't hold it against them; I could tell they were trying their best to walk quietly, but the wooden floor creaked with every step.
- Kevin (10/5): - Great stay this accommodation has everything you need bed was very comfortable rooms are spacious and very clean has nice kitchen and sitting room
- Elitza (10/5): -
- Christine (7/5): -
- Hsin-wen (9/5): Spacious and great location - Spacious room, great location, very helpful and responsive host.
- Falko (7/5): -
- Josh (7/5): - It was available last minute Listing said that parking was included, but then after booking I saw that you need to make a reservation and then it's 8 lb to park. I called the manager and he says it was all booked up, but that I could go and park on the street and it's usually free. We did not find one free spot so that was quite a bit of a hassle
- Regina (10/5): Definitely will like to stay there again - Amazing Every thing
- Vilém (8/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Perfect little stay - Very homely Nothing comes to mind
- Rudolf (6/5): -
- Begoña (8/5): Casa agradable y recomendable - La habitación La cocina
- H (10/5): Cleanness and Good service :) -
- Fede (7/5): -
- H (10/5): -
- Kate (4/5): - Proximity of the place to the city centre Poor communication from the host
- Jennifer (8/5): Perfect home base to exile Canterbury - Great location, just outside the old city and close to the Canterbury East train station.. Very spacious room and bath. It was very nice to have access to a kitchen to make coffee and keep snacks in the fridge. The host communicated quickly and clearly. All and all a lovely stay!
- Catherine (7/5): -
- Dayaruddin (6/5): -
- Marco (7/5): - Gutes Bett.
- Richard (8/5): Very pleasant and convenient - The downstairs room was spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and there was a small table in my own room The bedroom was rather warm and although I had the window open, the traffic could be noisy at rush hour
- Madeleine de Vetten (7/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- karri (10/5): Fantastic property - Upon first arrival we were greeted by a lady not sure if she owned it or just cleaned it and she let us know where everything was.
We could immediately smell something nice within the property It was very very clean and nicely decorated. It felt very welcoming and homely. Our room was large with an ensuite a great sturdy size bed with a mini fridge and all amenities that we could possibly need were present in this room. The shower was amazing It was hot and had great water pressure, however watch your head as the roof is slanted. It was very very close to town and there were multiple places to park close by. I will hopefully be staying again in a couple of weeks. There wasn't nothing that we didn't like the room was perfect
- Eddy (9/5): - Locatie
- Kříž (9/5): -
- Thakkar (10/5): -
- Banham (6/5): - Location cleanliness use of a kitchen and very good value for money. Car parking is not as straightforward as it could be and communication could be better.
- sylvia (10/5): Near city centre, clean and comfortable, no problems - Property was clean and comfortable All fine
- Sophie (8/5): Shared property - The place was clean and very spacious, which made for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It had everything we needed and felt well-maintained throughout. A great option if you’re looking for a tidy and roomy place to stay. What I didn’t like was that this is actually a shared property — something that wasn’t clearly communicated. Don’t be fooled, as I would never have booked it had I known. It felt very uncomfortable sharing the space with strangers, and it really affected the overall experience.
- Clark Bryan (8/5): Great experience. I’ll definitely stay again! - The location is good. It’s pretty close to the train station. Tesco and Sainsbury’s are nearby for food shopping. The shared kitchen has everything you need. Nothing.
- Robin (10/5): PFG - The combination of good factors Nothing springs to mind - even New Inn wasn't far away
- Robert (4/5): Great location however requires maintenance, air con forbyhe top floor at least and a deep clean - Location and parking In need of maintenance, deep cleaning and it was far too hot even though the outside temperature was around 23 degrees. Inside was a lot hotter. We couldn't leave the windows open through the night due to the noise of traffic and emergency vehicle sirens (its a busy area). We had a fan however it barely made a dent in the temperature.
- Grogan (9/5): Lovely weekend made even better by the good weather!: - Well situated.
Clean and comfortable.
Proper kitchen facility if you wanted to eat in . We didn't!
Range of complimentary beverages.
Able to leave our cases on check out day to pick up later. Wasn't fully clear that you had to call owner to get key safe number on arrival.
- Beate (8/5): - Lage!

- Rajeev (8/5): - The host was very responsive and was present at the property to show us around and hand over the keys. The house is very comfortable with a comfortable lounge area, well stocked common kitchen and a spacious bedroom. We had booked the Double bedroom which has an en-suite bathroom. The amenities in the house were very good. The house is a comfortable 10 minutes walk to the bus station and 12-15 minutes walk to the Canterbury Cathedral and all the main attractions in the old part of town. There are other rooms in the house given out to other guests but they are totally detached and hence we got complete privacy. The stay was overall enjoyable and comfortable. Only issue that we faced was that the bed was a bit too soft and springy for us. We are used to harder mattress tops due to our back issues.
- Shannon (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, well maintained property. The host and staff were responsive and friendly. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to dine in. Located in safe, residential area. About a 10 minute walk to the Canterbury Cathedral. There is a Tessco Express and pub near by. Highly recommended.
- Emma (10/5): - Very clean and close to town centre
- Attila (10/5): -
- Katsuakira (10/5): Great place to stay near the city centre - Location was very good, close to the city centre and all the attractions.
Parking on premises was available with a reasonable 8-pound fee.
The room was spacious and clean.
Large shared lounge, dining space and kitchen with coffee machine was very useful. Could be better to get directions to the car park in advance, which is behind the building and hard to find.
I could hear some noise/voice from other room or neighbour when we stayed.
