• Franko (10/5): - I cannot say enough good things about this accommodation. While the property itself is lovely, the heart of the experience is Rosa. She is the true reflection of Guatemala, incredibly kind, hospitable, and attentive. Whether it was a great local food recommendation or help with a random request, Rosa was always there with a smile and a fascinating conversation. I would def reccomend it.
• Gérard (5/5): - Petit déjeuner peu important mais correct sur la terrasse. Il y a des endroits qui sont toujours bien notés. Sans tenir compte des conditions réelles dans lesquelles on est logé. Cependant : - chambre petite et étouffante, obligeant à dormir la porte ouverte. - pas d'air conditionnée, ni même d'un simple ventilateur. - gîte à 20' à pied du centre ville. - il ne s'agit pas d'un hôtel mais d'une maison d'hôtes, quasi pas renseignée à l'extérieur et avec une entrée encombrée de deux roues à moteur.

Tal vez el hotel no está muy cerca del centro, pero la ubicación que tiene es perfecta para tener unas vistas bellas a los volcanes; ¡del centro son solo 15 mins caminando!

• Yasmin (8/5): Nice small and quiet hotel for a few nights in Antigua - It’s a really cute building and the terrace is wonderful, overlooking Antigua and the volcanoes. Staff were very friendly :) breakfast was also really good. It’s a bit further out from the main area with cafes/shops etc but this isn’t totally bad as the town is always loud from the traffic N/a

• Benjamin (9/5): - Die Unterkunft hat eine ruhige Lage mit einer tollen Dachterrasse mit Blick auf die umliegenden Vulkane. Das Frühstück, das Rosa jeden Morgen für uns zubereitete, war ausgezeichnet. Rosa und Irving waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und hatten gute Tipps für uns!

• Leon (9/5): Tolle Unterkunft in Antigua - Sehr nettes kleines Hotel. Check-in nach Mitternacht hat gut funktioniert, ebenso der Flughafentransfer, der von der Unterkunft organisiert wurde. Sehr schöne Dachterrasse mit ansprechendem Frühstück und bequemen Hängematten. Super Blick auf die Vulkane! Rosa war eine super Gastgeberin vor Ort, vielen Dank!! Das Bett war leider nicht so bequem, man hat deutlich die Federn gespürt. Es könnten gerne noch mehr Ablageflächen und Haken angebracht werden. Lage ist etwas außerhalb des Kerns, aber vollkommen okay fußläufig zu erreichen.

He allowed us to switch nights because I was not feeling good for the Acatenango hike. He also kept our bags during our Acatenango hike. We really recommand. Conecenience store not far, hot shower and breakfast with the view in the volcans! Nothing!

• Jack (10/5): - Irving was an exceptional host, super accommodating and helpful. We did two nights either side of Acatenango and the guys at Maison even moved our bags into the room for us on our return. Being a bit further out you get beautiful, quiet mornings watching th volcanos and the world go by. If you’re lucky you might even bump into Irving at one of the nice bars in Antigua ahah!

La grata y personalizada atención de doña Rosa, y sus desayunos. La amabilidad del propietario. Los servicios recibidos están acordes con las tarifas, y en consecuencia, no tenemos ninguna crítica. Todo los servicios suministrados fueron satisfactorios, y nuestra estancia fue muy placentera. Esperamos volver a Antigua, y a la Maison Bougainvillea.

• Ali (10/5): One of the most intentional, colorful, hospitable stays we have ever had as travelers! - The hotel was absolutely gorgeous lined with flowers, plants, and a taste of the richness of Guatemala. We were truly amazed at Irving and Rosa's hospitality and kindness—they are true representatives of the warmth and kindness of the culture. Homemade breakfast, amazing views of the volcanoes on the terrace, 15-20 minute walk from center city, everything was clean and spotless. Something unique about this hotel is that time and thought has clearly been put into each decoration and cleaning and all conversations. We have traveled across the world for years and truly feel this is one of the best and intentional stays we have had across the globe. Irving and Rosa, we cannot recommend your hotel enough and adore you both! Thank you for the gift of having us in Antigua! Everything was fantastic, but it is very easy to hear noise outside your room, so just keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper! Community is the best part of travel, so it is also a plus!

My room was small, the mattress was terrible with large bumps and ridges( I showed the owner and he agreed that it should be changed), the sheets were thin and didn’t stay in place, the pillow was lumpy. The hotel is on the edge of the tourist area 1.7 kms from the centre, not really central. Not what I expected from other reviews

• Isaias (8/5): Desayuno hogareño, vista insuperable. - Maison Bougainvillea está lleno de cosas buenas, increíble vista desde su terraza, mucha privacidad, un hermoso lugar y cómodas instalaciones. Pero sin duda alguna lo mejor que tiene es la Sra. que hace el desayuno, a la cual se me olvidó preguntarle el nombre, es lo mejor de este hotel. El sistema de agua caliente es eléctrico, si bien funciona perfectamente, le resta unos puntos en estética, ya que el dispositivo se ve que tiene ya un tiempo de estar siendo utilizado. Como latinoamericano, no hallé ningún inconveniente con esto, pero puede que otros huéspedes de otras latitudes si puedan sentir algo de inseguridad sobre como se ve.

Salle de bain étroite et débit d'eau insuffisant. Eau chaude inexistante ... froid encore. Pas confortable, pas au niveau. Petit-déjeuner très léger ... mauvais rapport qualité-prix

• Marie (9/5): Schöne und zweckmäßige Unterkunft mit einem schönen Blick. - Die Unterkunft ist schön und einladend. Der Gastgeber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Außerdem kann zum Frühstück die Dachterrasse mit einem tollen Blick genutzt werden. Die Lage ist ein wenig abgelegen, aber dennoch sehr schön und alles ist mit 20 Minuten Fußweg erreichbar. Es gab sehr wenig Ablagefläche. Die ersten zwei Male haben wir kalt geduscht. Dann haben wir zum Glück die Einstellung gefunden und konnten warm Duschen.

La mujer que hace los desayunos (muy ricos) fue como nuestra madre, todo un amor, simpatiquísima. Las habitaciones también son muy bonitas y cómodas. Si volvemos a Antigua nos encantaría volver a quedarnos en Maison Bougainvillea sin duda alguna.

• BORJA (10/5): Alojamiento 100% recomendable - Tras alojarnos dos noches en Maison Bougainvillea, nos fuimos a hacer el trekking del Acanatengo y el volcán Fuego, y después volvimos a alojarnos nuevamente una noche más en Maison Bougainvillea. Irving muy amable nos permitió dejar nuestras mochilas grandes en su alojamiento para no tener que cargarlas al trekking. Como ya dijimos en la anterior reseña, casita súper bonita, con un patio precioso, y una terraza increíble con unas vistas espectaculares, tomar el desayuno con vistas al volcán Agua, al Acatenango y al humeante volcán Fuego es insuperable. Irving muy simpático y amable, nos ayudó con el traslado de ciudad de Guatemala a Antigua, además del traslado de Antigua a Panajachel. Buena ubicación para ir a distintos lugares. Para solicitar algo extra se tiene que avisar con anticipación, cómo el día anterior, nada en el momento.

• Samantha (8/5): Lugar agradável, bom café da manhã e lindas vistas - A Rosa é muito simpática, o quarto é amplo e o café da manhã era muito bom. O café é servido no terraço da propriedade que possui uma linda vista para os vulcões. O banheiro compartilhado estava sempre limpo e o chuveiro era muito bom. A casa é um pouco distante dos pontos de interesse do centro histórico, precisávamos pegar Uber. Se você gosta de fazer as coisas andando, fica um pouco longe.
• Marina (10/5): Tolle Unterkunft in guter Lage! - Der Aufenthalt in der Maison Bougainvillea war einfach toll! Die Lage ist super, da es etwas außerhalb des Stadttrubels ist. Das Zentrum ist zu Fuß in 15 min erreichbar. Von der Dachterrasse kann man nachts den El Fuego Lava speien sehen. Der Gastgeber und das Personal waren spitze und wir haben jeden Tag ein gereinigtes Zimmer und tolle Ausflugstipps erhalten. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Traditional breakfast and coffee was lovely and served with a smile. Taxi was easily arranged for us (during Christmas). Two stairs can be tough after your climb up the volcano!
• Nika (7/5): Good alternative if you run out of options - Nice rooftop view of the volcanoes, good breakfast (2 choices: pancakes with fruit or tranditional Guatemalan), availability to have the breakfast earlier (if you do volcano hike) Matress is not comfortable and very hard, you can hear everything due to no isolation and very loud closing of the rooms’ main doors, not really helpful or welcoming host. Location is 20min walk to the center. We booked airport transfer as it is offered by this accommodation but had to wait for a driver for 1h without reducing the price.

• Maggy (9/5): - Good place for the price! Nice and clean room and shared spaces. Quiet in the night. Good Breakfast, 2 choices. The view from the terrasse is WOW with hamacs and tables + chairs! kind owner. We found that it was a little bit far from center as we were with a 3 years old little girl and it was not easy some time. We had 2 different room. 1 and 3. 3 was a little bit little and the mattress was too soft. But the room 1 was really better, more large and mattress good. Maybe some hooks in the bathroom would be a good add.

• Varon (6/5): A great friendly budget option though a bit of a walk from the Center of Antigua. - The terrace was great and the room was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and we were able to check in early. The bed was uncomfortable in the room we booked. You could feel the springs through the bed and any movement from one another if you were sharing the bed. We did not have the best sleep due to the bed as well as hearing noise from another guest talking loudly on the phone which we could hear their entire conversation through our room even with our windows closed. There was also a smell coming through the bathroom drain as other guests have shared in the comments. It would be helpful to have some type of drain cover so the smell could be contained to the pipes instead or the bathroom/room.
