- Béatrice (5/5): Ne vaut pas ses 5* ni son prix - Très jolie entrée mais...pas d'autre salon... Pas de chauffage alors que la météo était très mauvaise. Pluie, vent ,froid: 11 degrés le 15 mai. La réception nous a apporté des couvertures ds la chambre mais la sdb etait glaciale et la salle de petit-déjeuner, accessible par l'extérieur uniquement, très froide également car la porte est restée ouverte tout le temps que nous y avons passé . Mais bon petit-dejeuner et personnel très gentil. Chambre, avec surclassement, sans vue et triste mais belle sdb et linge de qualité. Spa sympathique mais de taille réduite.
- 260lesliec (10/5): Magnificent Hotel - We had a fabulous three nights here which honestly was not long enough because we did not have a chance to enjoy the pool and spa facilities. This hotel is first class - the well appointed room was spacious and had a magnificent view of the Tuscan hillside; the manager of the hotel personally welcomed us and she engaged with us several times during our stay; the staff was so attentive and professional and the daily breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely restaurant. The Monastero di Cortona was top of the list for our favorite hotel during our travels through Italy.

- Companion22401866046 (10/5): Picturesque stay in a lovely Tuscan town - Monastero di Cortona was a lovely property and we very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was exceptionally service-oriented and went above and beyond to help us with pressing services we needed for our son’s wedding, which we greatly appreciated during a busy and meaningful trip. The breakfast and lunch offerings were both very good, and our room was beautifully appointed overall. The beds themselves were comfortable, though the hotel could significantly improve the pillows, which were so flat they were practically nonexistent. We also found the rooms quite cold during our stay and had to request both a heater and additional blankets. It took until our final night for everything to be fully resolved, but the staff was responsive and ultimately addressed the issue. There were a couple of additional minor inconveniences during our stay. We could hear guests in the room above us late at night and again very early in the morning on the day of our departure, which unfortunately woke us before 6am. Additionally, the hotel experienced a temporary loss of both cell and WiFi service on our last day, which made coordinating with our car service a bit challenging, though it ultimately was not a major issue. One important note for travelers: the walk between town and the hotel involves very steep hills and would likely be quite difficult for anyone with mobility limitations. We joked that it became our daily glute and quad workout while in Cortona. Overall, we found Monastero di Cortona to be a beautiful, welcoming property with excellent hospitality and would happily recommend it to travelers looking for a charming stay in Tuscany.

The staff are unfailingly courteous, the rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and full of luxurious accessories. The restaurant is superb, compliments to the chef. It was too early in the season to enjoy the grounds and the pool, which look lovely in photographs, but the setting at the top of Cortona is very quiet with fine views. A little tricky getting there by car, as many have commented, but in every other respect we can recommend this fine hotel wholeheartedly.

A garagem do hotel é muito pequena e não fomos informados que devíamos pagar antes a garagem para conseguir colocar o carro. Chegamos e simplesmente mandaram a gente ir para outro estacionamento , sendo que é muito difícil dirigir dentro de Cortona , cidade medieval. Deviam ter mandado alguém levar o carro ou ir junto conosco. Mas não fizerem. Isso é uma falha grave para um hotel 5 estrelas

- Aloysia (10/5): Rundherum ein Paradies, das uns begeistert hat. - Ein wunderschön gestaltetes Hotel in ehemaligen Klosterräumen. Das erste "WOW" beim Betreten der Lobby ist sicher. Danke schön, für den angenehmen Empfang und den köstlichen Cocktail. Die Räume und der Garten sind so wunderschön gestaltet, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Unser Zimmer war gemütlich, grosszügig und perfekt ausgestattet für unsere Bedürfnisse. Es war schön, das Frühstück in allen Teilen stets so schön angerichtet serviert zu bekommen. Alle unsere Wünsche wurden erfüllt und wir haben uns in der ruhigen und geschmackvoll arrangierten Atmosphäre des Frühstücksraumes sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, obwohl wir kein Italienisch sprechen, war alles sehr angenehm. Das Spa ist sehr gelungen in die alten Strukturen integriert und die Anwendungen haben uns sehr begeistert, da sie unser Erholungsbedürfnis perfekt ergänzt haben. Die Lage des Hotels ist hoch über der wunderbaren Landschaft inmitten des wunderschön gepflegten und spannend zu erkundenden Städtchens Cortona gelegen. Alles ist bequem zu Fuss zu erreichen und Spaziergänge in alle Richtungen zum Seele baumeln lassen sind direkt vom Hotel aus möglich. Da wir schon mit dem Auto angereist sind, haben wir auch einfach sehr bereichernde Ausflüge in die Umgebung machen können. Das Hotel und die Lage sind perfekt für einen vielfältigen Aufenthalt in der Toskana auf sehr hohem Niveau.

- PiperRayne (8/5): Stormy 50th Birthday Stay - We stayed at the Monastero for my 50th birthday and I had been looking forward to this night for almost a year. The property is beautiful and the spa experience was phenomenal. We went to the spa immediately upon arrival and spent 2 hours swimming in the old roman cistern and also getting treatments. It was such a unique and special experience! However as our evening progressed we did have some issues. The night we stayed there was a storm and the hallways of the hotel lost power. We had to use the flashlights on our phones to get around as it was completely pitch black, plus the wind and rain was coming through through the window all night long. I do understand this is an extremely old property with original features and windows, but we were only staying for one night and it ended up being a very uncomfortable night and there was no recognition of how much the weather and power issues impacted our stay and ability to enjoy the property. I would have expected a property of this caliber would have at least verbally recognized the inconvenience it caused, especially for what was such a big personal occasion. We didn't eat at the restaurant for dinner due to the blackout and instead when down the hill for dinner, but breakfast was very nice in the morning. The spa experience was definitely the highlight of our stay!

Ambienti mozzafiato, intrisi di storia. Emozionante I rumori di trascinamento dei mobili avvertiti a lungo la mattina presto. Ma comunque tollerabili vista l’eccellenza degli altri servizi.

The views are postcard perfect, the building is historic and solidly built, it's clean, well decorated, and the food is terrific, and staff are friendly. The spa is enormous and historic. Housekeepers were making quite a bit of noise in the hallway rather early prior to checkout but not too disturbing with the heavy doors.
- 944ciaraf (10/5): A magical experience - A former monastery, beautifully restored, and now a splendid hotel in Cortona makes for a very special stay. With every attention to detail and wonderful friendly staff including Matilde on reception and Claudio - master of creative cocktails, in the bar, staying here is a real and memorable treat. The fine dining restaurant in the former refectory surrounded by the remnants of the original frescoes, is excellent. The lovely town on a hill with beautiful views is steps away. Highly recommend this rare and magical place.

- Seth (10/5): Tip top, from the view, the room with our teen, the service and all. Exceptional. - Breakfast was intimate and very well done. Small room tha felt private and an excellent selection. Trying to arrive and park was very difficult. We utilized a public parking lot that was literally 2 min walk and would have eliminated 99% of the stress of arriving. It’s a very sharp, like I can’t describe how tight the turns are. We rented an X5 and had less than an inch on both sides before I gave up. But as soon as we met Claudio in the bar it was back to smooth sailing, his Spritz are maybe the best we have ever had!

The architecture and design of the place are absolutely beautiful - it felt like we were staying in a museum. Extremely peaceful location with lots to see and do. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding neighborhoods. Food at the hotel was delicious, and we could never go wrong with the staff picks (they always provided excellent recommendations). Highly recommend anyone to book a stay here.

- olga (10/5): Indimenticabile ! - Bellissima struttura in un antico monastero ristrutturato, ed ottima accoglienza. La nostra stanza aveva un ampio bagno ed una vista spettacolare a 360 sulla campagna toscana. Spa stupenda e suggestiva, con piscina sotto delle volte di pietra, bagno turco, sauna e massaggi di qualità. Per culminare il tutto, abbiamo cenato nel ristorante Gli Affreschi : eccellente cena, con ottimi vini ed un servizio impeccabile. Raccomando sinceramente.

- KcBond (10/5): Wonderful hotel with Amazing Staff! - Our two nights here was one of highlights of our two-week vacation in Italy. Matteo, Sara, and the rest of the staff were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. We stayed in the beautiful Junior Suite Gli Affreschi which had beautiful views. The room was clean and spacious with a comfy bed. We had breakfast and dinner here both days during our stay. The food and service were exceptional. I had emailed the hotel before our stay regarding transportation to the hotel. Sara reserved a taxi for pick-up and return to the train station for us. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again!

What a wonderful experience! The accommodations and service were exceptional. The hotel has an incredibly efficient front desk staff and everyone from the wait staff to the maitre d, Matteo went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and catered to. The spa was also a top notch experience. This luxury hotel is not to be missed. It sits at the top of a hill and the views are breathtaking. I cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough. It is not to be missed. A true jewel in a beautiful setting.

- Lynda (10/5): Peaceful, cosy and the ideal hotel to stay if you’re looking for a relaxing break. Staff go above and beyond. The hotel - I loved the staff, everyone was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Nothing was a problem. It has such a peaceful and welcoming feel, it’s bright, airy and the extremely comfortable. Breakfast felt like a celebration of a new day. There’s nothing much to dislike about this wonderful hotel. If I really had to find something I’d say perhaps slightly more storage, but that’s not something I’d seriously complain about.
