- Isla (8/5): Great relaxing break in good location. - Comfortable and very friendly, helpful staff. Use of spa even on day we checked out a lovely addition especially as we had a couple of wet walks on the Offa’s Dyke. Great location in a lovely small town with walks from the door. Good value for money. Nothing really but don’t expect high end luxury- it’s a local pub too.

- Mark (2/5): Should be no more than £50 per night! - Nice friendly staff. Gym not open till 9am, hence I couldn’t use it! Place is rundown, no fruit salad or pastries at breakfast, cheap bread! Fair price would be £50 per night, certainly not £125!

Bathroom was spotless very clean, Bed was really comfortable. Gym and sauna has everything you need and is very clean, tidy and maintained.
- Fay (9/5): Overall- a great stay. - The hotel was lovely & clean. The spar was a real plus for us & wasn’t too busy. Staff were friendly and very helpful & there was a nice choice of breakfast. Bed was comfortable too. It’s a personal thing, but the hotel could do with a bit of personality e.g. some flowers pictures and Nick Mack’s to give it a less clinical feel.

- Amanda (6/5): Excellent spa, snd food very good, but room was a disappointment - Breakfast was very good in terms of choice and presentation. The spa area was excellent in all respects. Evening meal very good with a wide choice of menu and very generous portions. The room was not warm on entry, because the small radiator needed to be on a higher temperature given the time of the year, as it kept going on and off and even on MAX was never hot. The temperature should have been turned up prior to my arrival. After a lovely spa experience I looked forward to a hot shower in my room, which was not to be initially, because the water was running cold. I had to put clothes back on and report to Reception the problem. Was told to leave the water running for a long time because my room was at the end of the boiler system. Fair enough, but why not leave a note to that effect to the hotel guest?! The inadequacies of the boiler system are not the guest's fault!! I could have done with a bedcover to go over the duvet, because the room wasn't warm, but nothing in sight.

- claire (10/5): Excellent hotel - Excellent design of the rooms. One of the best hotel bathroom/shower facilities I've experienced. Plenty of room. Wasn't that keen on Kington, but we'll come back to stay at the Burton!
- Ayesha (10/5): - From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were made to feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble, smiling faces pleasant manners, help with luggage for member with walking aid without being asked. Cloud nine spa was a big plus and yet again staff very friendly and helpful. Ali Emily and Teagan(hope I spelt it correctly) made our stay first class, and the food was really good too, recommend the poached pears Wall mounted hairdryer, I understand why they are used, but if you have long hair best to bring your own hairdryer and that is the only thing I didn't like and that's not really a problem

- Nicola (7/5): Welcoming staff, lovely breakfast, clean spa and warm pool, though the room was dated and the shower - I was travelling for work and booked last minute, arriving later than expected, and I was very grateful that the staff met us and showed us to our room. The building is old and the room is quite dated for the price, and the shower didn’t have much water pressure. However, the spa area was lovely and clean, the pool was warm, and the food in the restaurant below was freshly made and delicious. Breakfast was lovely, made to order, with good decent coffee as well. The room felt quite dated for the price. The shower had very little water pressure.

- Wood (7/5): Overall fine but not as good as in previous years. - We stayed at the newer purpose built rooms. We'd been before and the rooms were again a good size, clean and the bed was a comfortable super king. The bathroom had a bath and shower which was a bonus. Breakfast was freshly cooked with waitress service and tasted very nice. The rest of the hotel was a bit tired. The spa was an added bonus but when we had been at the hotel in previous years there were added extras like drinking water and cups by the pool, centrifuge to dry out wet costumes, bags to put wet costumes in, shampoo and shower gel in the showers. Just cutting corners a bit really for the price we were paying.

The access for wheelchair users was good. It would be far better if the disabled room had a hard floor as the thick carpet made wheeling hard work.

- Nick (7/5): I served my needs, I would stay again but check the room details and might eat out - Great staff on arrival, less so on departure, reported a fault with the shower in my room and didn't feel that this was valued. I didn't make use of the pool or spa I booked a single, but even so the room was very small and the shower room so small that the basin had to be in the room. Yes it did what it said on the tin but a bit disappointing. Free Wifi hardly worked during my stay. Menu was limited due to an up coming change but a bit more effort would have been good.

- Jane (8/5): 1 night stay in the Burton hotel - Staff were exceptional very helpful.Good choice of breakfast.Use of swimming pool was included in the price of the accomodation.Had reserved restaraunt for our evening meal.Food was lovely and we were able to choose from the bar or restaraunt menu.Plenty of choice on the menus. The temperature of the room was just too hot for a good nights sleep.This was not the fault of the hotel as we were in the middle of a heat wave.There was a large fan on the ceiling of the room but this was of no help as it seemed to make the room warmer.It would be of benefit to the hotel if they provided a portable fan in the room if temperatures remain to rise.
