Guest Reviews
- Howell (8/5): - quiet, opening windows, large bed, clean, proximity to pubs shops and restaurants. easy to find and access little bit too cosy, lift would have helped, shower took a bit of sorting out
- daniela... (10/5): - O apartamento muito espaçoso bem confortável, com uma ótima segurança! Fazia um pouco de barulho por conta dos trens que passam próximo
- Tara (7/5): - decent bed not able to cook meals unless you want to use a microwave Stairs lots of them - no lift
- Stephanie (10/5): -

- Alicia (8/5): Convenient location. - The location is walkable to the train station, and there is a taxi stand right out front. There are good restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The shower water pressure was not good.
- Carol (6/5): A stones throw from all food and drink - It was clean. The bed and bath very clean. It smelled like someone had been cooking chicken tikka masala in the room before I got there but none for me. Bed was comfortable The communication between Booking.com & the owner was patchy & I was still not getting info until very late. I think my most frightening concern was this: upon entering the property I noticed ZERO suites on the ground floor, I was told mine was on the 1st floor, me from Canada thinking ground floor was my mistake but the property description seemed disability friendly. Panic ensued. I have MS. I had to pull almost 90lbs of luggage up a curling staircase with no hand or arm strength. I was pushing & pulling half way up when the stairwell sensor lights shutoff, no windows & I was left in the dark. I can't see in the dark. I sat there hyperventilating because I couldn't make it up the stairs. I had to wait for a surge of energy & crawl up pulling & pushing luggage. Then there's parking. If you're interested in running around the block multiple times a day moving your vehicle, this is the place for you. I hit the jackpot however. The lovely owner of The Fork & Mustard informed me that I was likely safe in the Melville Street car park the block behind, with my disability pass. I still paid to be safe even though it said I didn't have to because I was already down on luck. Not a place for people with mobility issues at all if they have no help or struggle with stairs. The heat register also has a mind of it's own.
- Jennifer (10/5): - The stairs
- Kim (10/5): - Studio was great, it had a big bed, kitchenette with all the essentials we needed and a bathroom with shower. The location was perfect, around the corner from train station and in the centre of Falkirk. Check in and check out was easy and straight forward. Would highly recommend.
- Daniel (10/5): Just right 👌 - Easy and convenient access train station and buses, cheaper than staying in Edinburgh, plenty of pubs and food to choose from.
- Tommy (8/5): Neat, clean and comfortable. - Comfortable and quiet. Shower head is not attached properly and the water is hitting the ceiling or going above the glass door and out on to the floor when you turn it on. It was awkward to have a shower.
It's an easy fix though and everything thing else is fine.
- Susan (8/5): Great rooms in a good location - Easy check in process Having to pay a security deposit and wait for it to be refunded
- Neil (9/5): Very nice good location - Rooms were good size and equipped with necessities
- Paul (8/5): -
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely and clean room. Really comfy bed.
- Desmond (9/5): Superb -
- Maz (7/5): Was a good stay for couple - Good for 2.
Basic but enough.
The location was good..near to shops/take aways/train/bus
Parking was easy. Is just there was a bar near by
Music was loud
But I am tired not a big problem for me.
- Scott (7/5): Good - Good location, bed was comfortable. The desk is seriously cramped and difficult to manouvre into. They also require that you take out rubbish. The stairs were steep and difficult to negotiate with luggage.
- Obrien (9/5): Kelpies serviced apartments review - It was quick to book on short notice for me and the boys from work as we decided to stay in falkirk instead of travelling back home . The staff were lovely and friendly over the phone and I don't have any complaints whatsoever. If we're ever working again in Falkirk we will definitely be staying again.
- Harid (7/5): Good - Convenient location near the station and shops. Quite noisy on Friday/Saturday nights. Can be hard to sleep
- Paige (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (4/5): Fine if you want nothing to work - For over £200, it was absolutely freezing, the TV didn't work and neither did the heater.
- Srinivas (8/5): Very good - Central location, close to train station, Callendar Park, and shopping centre. Accommodating, energetic management. Clean premises. Recommended if your self-catering needs don't include an oven/stove. A bit cramped if tall, but depends upon the room.
- David (8/5): Very good - Excellent location and good communication with Kelpies Asked for £50 deposit for any damages, then messaged that we had to empty the bins before we left and put into the correct recycling bins or risk losing the deposit, made me very suspicious, took photos of what we deposited in the bins, just in case of a query.
- Phasuk (1/5): I just wanted to everyone to know that it’s not good property to stay - Hi sis, meant to let you know the property is not very nice and also it’s not very good. The people owner apartment is not very nice. No good at all no reason to tell me to get out my room. These people is not nice.
- Paul (4/5): Comfy bed but I doubt I’d return. No sign of any staff - The bed was comfortable and the location good The tv didn’t work as it hadn’t been tuned in and the batteries in the remote were rotten and not been changed for a long time. That’s very sloppy.
- Matthew (9/5): Superb - Great central location in Falkirk, ideal if traveling by train. Taxi rank outside and close to bus stops making it easy to get around.
- Dmc5 (10/5): Exceptional - We will definitely be back. The apartment was spotless and spacious. The location was amazing, and we received a high level of communication from the host.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Tammy (10/5): Perfection - The property was amazing we enjoyed our stayed here location was perfect for the town and also public transportation. We visited the kelpies did long walks and enjoyed food places in the area. Loved the property nothing to dislike at all
- Antczaks (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Very comfortable and clean. Easy check in. Amazing and friendly communication. N/a
- Lisa (7/5): Good -
- John (8/5): Pleasantly surprised - N/a Less stairs pleasa
- Robert (9/5): My stay was overall enjoyable 😉 -
- Wayne (7/5): Good -
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (9/5): Superb - The bed was large and comfy!! Especially after a week on a rented narrow boat, it was wonderful!
- Kenny (3/5): Poor - No Wi-Fi no shower gel sovereigns scalding hot or freezing cold
- Audrey (9/5): Superb -
- Meaghan (9/5): Location great for Edinburgh via the train, convenient & comfortable - Location was central, train station just over the road. Ideal for short stay. Room backed onto a pub, although it was fairly quiet. Sink was tiny and awkward to use but was fine for a night or two.
- Martin (8/5): Small but comfortable - fine for a couple of nights - Very good central location in Falkirk. A very comfortable large bed. Supplied an iron and ironing board when we asked for it. A basic but usable kitchen area.
- Lindsey (9/5): Would highly recommend these apartments - It was well
Located. Very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed for an overnight stay and check in instructions were very concise. Nothing to complain about
- Timothy (6/5): Pleasant - Location Size
- Wato1953 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (8/5): Nice place to stay and good value for money. - Very good location near the station and buses. Very quiet, clean and comfortable There were no negatives.
- Bruce (3/5): Disappointed. I couldn’t get a photo I couldn’t stand back to get one the room was too small - The bed was comfortable. Location was very good. Carrying luggage up 3 flights 43 winders stairs. Room was very small couldn’t fit bag on the floor without tripping on it, and was very smelly.
Shower was very hard to regulate and went cold continuously. No tea towel or hand towel or washer.
- Michelle (8/5): Okay - Convenient to everything Noisy as was next to bus station and taxi rank
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (7/5): Quick visit for a catch up - Great location for town, bars and shops. The conformation on booking etc is good. Feels secure with having coded entrance and security fob access. There is parking directly behind the property, but this isn’t advertised. You’re advised to use paid on street parking or public car park. The car park in Melville street is only a short walk so not a huge issue, but would be nice to park for free directly behind.
Shower was a little grubby on my stay.
- Keith (3/5): would not stay again -
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (10/5): - Lovely apartment - great location for train and buses. Loved it!
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Andrea (6/5): Pleasant -
- Stewart (10/5): Very enjoyable Stay - Very Comfortable Room Very Satisfied with everything
- Anne (8/5): Comfortable with adequate facilities to make a microwave meal. Very small sink for washing up. Overall would recommend - Based in the centre of Falkirk. Walking distance to the Wheel and the Kelpies. Close to a supermarket. Parking wasn’t ideal but probably the usual difficulties when based in a town centre.
- Bev (7/5): Good - Good location. Really helpful staff (after we left something at the property) Parking was on the roadside - not really a problem though
- Izzy (10/5): lovely had a great nights sleep - had everything we needed, bed was a great size and very comfortable, very easy to get in and out of the building loved the self check in very smooth and easy checking in nothing apart from i assume it’s near a place people go out so saturday night was quite loud outside with people shouting talking and singing but didn’t affect me sleeping but did the friend i stayed with :)
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Will (7/5): Good -
- Alexander (7/5): Kelpues Newmarket St - Room was clean and well appointed. Very compact - ok for one person rather than couple.
A bit noisy at weekend as window is directly above taxi rank.
- Raymond (9/5): Kelpies, Newmarket St, Falkirk. - The room was clean. Helpful and friendly staff just an email or phone call away. In addition, my wallet, with all my cards in it, was stolen at Hong Kong airport last Sunday night as I waited to travel. The staff arranged to collect cash from me, which was very kind. Didn't know how to work the heating. Sort of trial and error.
- Cynthia (8/5): Very good -
- Greg (8/5): Very good -
- Dan (7/5): Good - Easy and straight forward instructions to access the apartments. Comfortable, clean and well equipped. As I was traveling for work, a desk would have been useful.
- Susan (8/5): Very good - Right in the centre of town.
Small kitchenette Kitchenette provided but only 1 chair so have to eat on the bed.
Only 1 glass, 1 teaspoon and 1 dessert spoon.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Nice location, apartment was lovely. Room was clean, bed very comfortable. No problems at all 🙂 Nothing we didn't like 👍
- Maureen (6/5): Comfortable - Been advised that parking was on street subjected to availability
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - The sensor light in the bathroom was a little annoying.
- Cedric (5/5): Passable -
- Susan (6/5): Pleasant - It was just OK. We find that using lockboxes for entry means no contact with anyone so you miss advice on the area and human contact. We ran out of toilet paper as they'd forgotten to restock.
Think that maybe a phone call after a day or so would be useful to check that all was well.
More suitable as maybe business accommodation than holiday accommodation.
- Stephen (5/5): Good location but noisy at night and hands-off management from the owners. - Location was good and centrally located. The room was pleasant with several amenities. There was no air conditioning, which would not normally be a problem. However there were numerous bars in the area. We had the window open at night to remail cool and there was a LOT of noise from the bar patrons until very late. We were unable to get a good nights rest there.
We also had a smoker in the room next to us and he would smoke at the window. The wind would blow the smoke away from his window and directly into our room. We emailed the apartment management but the smoking continued for the rest of his stay.
- Roger (10/5): Short stay in Falkirk - Excellent location in town centre, very close to train station, lovely views to the North. Host was very helpful and accommodating and quick to reply to all communications.
- Marty (10/5): Exceptional - Cleanliness & easy to find & comfortable for both my son & myself. There was nothing to not like !
- Christos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darren (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (8/5): Really Great Location - Great Central location close to shopping taxi rank and great little coffee shop next door The shower with the water temperature changing every 30 seconds its dangerous hot one minute then Artic cold the next why ?
- Schubach (6/5): Pleasant -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Olavo (8/5): Very good - Size of room is perfect , bed extra comfortable The small fridge, working very slow, I lost food and some drink, that's definitely no good
- Loopyloou (9/5): Reunion in Falkirk - Beds were very comfortable everywhere was spotless and staff were very approachable and helpful 🙂 Nothing
- Dennison (5/5): Passable - Very convenient for ASDA and for local or intercity buses No fridge for milk or white wine; no sweetener; tea, coffee etc not topped up
- Nicola (6/5): - Kelpies Serviced Apartments in Falkirk was very conveniently located - just a couple of minutes walk from Falkirk Grahamston station and a half hour walk to our gig venue.
However, the "apartment" was no more than a glorified bedsit and certainly nothing like the lovely photos on the website. It was no bigger than many hotel rooms and featured a wall mounted microwave, sink and mini fridge in one corner of the room. If I book an apartment, I expect to have a decent amount of space to move about in. Despite the booking saying the apartment would have a king size bed, it was a double bed crammed into a small space beside a sloping ceiling. I am not tall by any stretch of the imagination, but found myself having to stoop on more than 1 occasion. A very small table was also positioned below an area of sloping ceiling.
All in all, I did not consider this value for money and would be unlikely to book here again.
- Megan (6/5): They should not be called apartments - The woman I phoned about payment and checking in was very nice and friendly. It states on hotels.com that check in was 1pm-6pm so we arrived in Falkirk from the north east of Scotland for a 1pm check but was then told that check in is not till 3pm so we had to wait a few hours. Getting the key is easy as it is just a key in a key safe, although another rooms key is also in there so I had to come back downstairs and put it back into the key safe. The bed and the pillows were comfy. I’m not sure they should be called apartments considering it was just a bed in a room (like any other hotel room). I tried to put a drink into the fridge and decided to take it back out again as there was a horrible smell in the fridge. There was also a horrible smell coming from the drawer above the fridge. The glasses that were available to use were also quite stained and unclean. The bathroom was a good size and had a spacious shower. Also the towels were a good size. Personally do not think that the room was worth the price.
- James (4/5): Very disappointed - For what was supposed to be a 'Superior Apartment ' it turned out to be a small cramped room with a bathroom that hadn't been cleaned.
- Peter (6/5): Not an appartment - Please be aware, these are not appartments! At best its a small, very small budget hotel room with a fridge & microwave. The sink is so small its unusable & the tap was very loose. There is nowhere to dry your towels, so still damp in the morning. No proper chair so you have to sit on the bed. I was in Falkirk on essential work so had to stay however i would not stay hear again & I think Hoyels.com should review its inclusion on their website.
