• Dennis (9/5): - We stayed two nights in two different rooms. The regular room is nice, but the cottage is beautiful! The Homestay is located in a quiet street, and the city center is only a 10 minutes walk away. The owner is very kind and helpful, and the breakfast is delicious. The only downside is that the rooms and the cottage aren’t well isolated: make sure to bring earplugs and a face mask.
• Federico (10/5): Due notti a Ella - Il cottage nella sua individualità dona il giusto equilibrio tra riservatezza e ospitalità. Il bagno, in pieno stile Sri Lankese, è separato da una porta a vetro, ma mantiene comunque tutta la privacy necessaria. È presente inoltre un pergolato con sedie e tavolino in legno e come chicca finale un’amaca. Aria condizionata perfettamente funzionante, zanzariera a baldacchino molto utile e lenzuola in un tessuto molto confortevole. I padroni di casa ci han preparato ogni mattina una colazione abbondante e deliziosa, con prodotti tipici e a chilometro zero. Ci siam sentiti pienamente accolti. Lo consiglio a chi vuole passare una breve vacanza a Ella. Per arrivarci c’è un breve tratto stretto in salita a singola corsia, il che puó rendere le manovre, con un’auto anche piccola, difficili.
• Luca (10/5): - Stanza pulita e posizione comoda per raggiungere il centro e la stazione dei treni. I gestori sono una famiglia ospitale, gentile e premurosa. Si sono offerti di darmi un passaggio in macchina in stazione. Posto consigliato anche per una permanenza di più giorni. Nulla!

Vanaf de locatie is veel mogelijk op loopafstand, even naar het stadje, de brug en little adam’s peak zijn allemaal te belopen vanaf de accommodatie wat erg prettig is. De eigenaar regelt alles voor je om het je zo comfortabel mogelijk te maken. Hij zorgt dat de was opgehaald wordt en weer schoon terug gebracht wordt. Hij heeft een scooter voor ons geregeld die klaar stond bij de accommodatie en gaf ons een fantastische route naar lipton seat! Echt een aanrader om de te doen. Ontbijt is goed en uitgebreid en de bedden zijn comfortabel!

Accoglienza calorosa e cordiale da parte dei proprietari: ci siamo sentiti subito come a casa, tra persone genuine e autentiche. Camera deliziosa, tutta arredata in legno con un bagno molto funzionale, comodo, spazioso e originale. Colazione super e letto comodissimo

A rua em frente aos quartos tem barulho de tuc tuc. As instalações são um pouco antigas, tem carpetes e cortinados que tornam o quarto mais quente e pesado.

• Mariel (9/5): Beautiful place with amazing breakfast - The homestay is beautiful. Breakfast was amazing and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was very good and the room very spacious. Easy access into town The garden view is not so much a garden view but more a road view, not that that discouraged us.
• Megan (9/5): Friendly honestay within walking distance to all Ella sights! - We received a lovely warm welcome from the family who own the property on arrival and they were friendly throughout, even driving us to the train station the day we left. The breakfast is fabulous and the rooms are spacious and clean. Perfect location to walk into Ella Town and to other attractions. Great value for money. It had been raining a few days when we arrived so the room smelt a little damp but to be expected up in the hills!!

• Cian (10/5): Great value for money, very friendly hosts - Hosts were very accommodating. They let us check in very early, provided us with a moped and always made sure we ate loads for breakfast to fill us up for the day. Accommodation was very close to central Ella, close to little Adam’s peak and nine arch bridge.
• Natália (10/5): Lovely! - Our stay was short but wonderful! The host was extremely attentive, and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Our 1-year-and-9-month-old son slept really well! We found the house beautiful and cozy. The location was also great — we walked to the restaurant. On the way back, we took a tuk-tuk since the main road doesn’t have a sidewalk, and we felt it was unsafe to walk at night due to the traffic. The breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip — everything was delicious! On top of that, my mother-in-law forgot her laptop charger in the room, and the host, very generously, sent it to our hotel in Kandy. We were truly grateful for his kindness and helpfulness. Thank you so much!

We had really good Sri Lankan breakfast including fresh fruits and juice. Room was cozy with large bed and nice terrace. However it was humid inside. Hosts enabled us a scooter rental so we could visit many nice spots in Ella. Location was 10-15 minutes on foot to the centre of Ella with nice restaurants.

Lovely hosts and great S - Tucked away from the madness of Ella town but still walking distance. The cottage was really quirky with some lovely features. Safe parking for our hired Tuktuk. Hosts were super - as was the Sri Lankan breakfast. If you want something a bit different, still either full amenities (or aircon, fridge, coffee making etc), then I can’t recommend it enough! Nothing! It was just lovely!

The bathroom was stylish and the shower excellent. The property is located out of the centre of Ella (which we preferred) and also allowed a nice morning walk to see the Nine Arch Bridge. The host was very kind and provided us with a lovely cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Breakfast was nice and filling. The host was able to quickly arrange onward transport for us towards Udawallele via some beautiful waterfalls and scenery. The room was a little small but perfectly fine for just one night.

• Beth (8/5): Enjoyed our stay, was perfect for what we needed! - Traditional Sri Lanka breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable and stylish. Hosts were very accommodating and organised a taxi for us to our next destination. The blinds were see through and so In the mornings there was lots of light and lacked privacy. It was on a quiet road but could hear traffic at night.

Dhanush was kind and helpful, providing great advice on where to go sightseeing. It’s about a 9-minute walk to the center, around 20 minutes to Nine Arch Bridge, and about 30 minutes to Little Adam’s Peak. Overall, highly recommended!

The owners are a lovely family who took great care of us including collecting us from the train and cooking dinner when we arrived late into Ella. They gave great tourist advice and made our stay in Ella memorable. The location was perfect for visiting 9Arches Bridge and little Adam’s peak, but in a quiet street a short walk from the centre of Ella.

• Ruairi (9/5): Lovely little stay, only there for one night but lovely owner too - Lovely little room with great location, lovely owner who sorted some fruit for us before we headed off for safari @ 4am Was noisy with cars going past at night as it’s otherwise a generally quiet road. The pipe under the sink also wasn’t fixed in properly when we arrived but was easily fixable so not a big problem.

I stayed alone with two kids, super safe, very cozy space in quite street full of Datura plants with gorgeous stars panorama, cozy room with hammock and private patio, great shower, can’t stress enough how awesome the host is 🙌🙏 heard he is planning to open camping spot . Ella by far was my favorite spot in Sri Lanka Nothing

• Shamal (10/5): Wonderful homestay and fantastic hosts! - Loved the place. The room was very homey and comfortable. The bathroom and rest of the cottage was very clean and beautifully designed. Delicious breakfast served in the morning. And above all Dhanush and his wife are exceptional hosts, very helpful and responsive. They helped sort out a bus coach ticket back to Colombo and even dropped me at the bus stop and made sure everything went well. Fantastic service and an amazing place! Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Ella!

Great breakfast and the hosts are just amazing. They were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a quiet street, at walking distance of Ella city center. No remarks

Location is good, it is close enough to walk, and far enough to be out of the main street noise. On the way to 9 arch bridge and little adams peak. No view from the porch. Next to a local road.

• Claudette (10/5): Wonderful place to stay! - Dhanush and his wife are excellent hosts! We stayed in the cottage which was clean and comfortable. There is a veranda to relax on and a hammock to make use of if you wish. Breakfast is freshly prepared each morning and delicious! Too much food! It sets you up for a day of hiking and wandering around Ella. Dhanush can advise you on the best places to visit, eat, relax in. A beautiful treasure of a place, we truly enjoyed our stay. Starting from the room very cozy and elegant, to the beautiful garden and delicious breakfast. The family is truly amazing. Dhanush helped us a lot and gave us many useful information. The cottage is in a very convenient location, walking distance to the main area of Ella, yet it is very quiet and enjoyable. Thank you for a great stay! Highly recommended!! All was great

The best of staying in Mc Queen homestay was the owner as he was very kind with us, very fast check in and the best of all was the breakfast, really tasty and homemade. Highly recommend to stay here. • Tamara (10/5): Great Stay - Lovely stay, beautiful location, generous host family and delicious breakfast, the location of the Homestay is in a narrow path with other local homes, accessible by all means of transportation, full of trees and flowers, with squirrels jumping around, place is central but away from the noise, it is 10 min walk to downtown, 18 min beautiful walk to the 9 Arches Bridge through the forest, and 19 min walk to Little Adam’s PeakTrail. The room is so cute, it is a cottage with fridge, big bathroom, a lot of space to have 2 medium suitcases, hair dryer, bottle opener, tea, coffee, fridge, int. plug, fan (we didn’t even use it as the temperature in Ella is so moderate after 6PM, not hot not humid) so we slept like a baby, comfy mattress, this is one of the best Homestay’s I’ve done in my life. Dhanush and his family are so kind and generous, he gave us traveling tips and helped us with a lift to city centre when it was raining, his wife’s breakfast is yummy. Thank you for a great stay, we will definitely come back N/A

• Lucy (7/5): Cosy stop over - Very cosy room, was a bit worried about being so close to the lane, and not much privacy, but the night was peaceful. Lovely huge breakfast, lots of fruit. Thank you Bonus for us was that this homestay is on the Pekoe trail so super easy to start the next day. Thank you Too many curtains and rugs on the floor, can make it dusty.
• Duarte (9/5): Great host and comfortable stay to visit Ella - Comfortable bed. Modern bathroom with good water pressure. Good location and good breakfast. The host Danush is super nice and helpful. Sometimes a bit noisy during the night but maybe this is an Ella problem in general.

The host Dhanush and his family do everything for you! They are amazing! He even arranged the train tickets for us and dropped us off at the train station with his privat car for free. Delicious breakfast aswell. We highly recommend to stay here!

• Fiona (9/5): Would always go there again :)) - - good location: you can start the hike to little Adam’s Peek(40 minutes) to the nine arches Bridge (20 minutes) and if you want to do a longer hike you can start the tour to Ella rock (whole hike: 3-4h) directly from the property. - the breakfast was really good and they were flexible in time (really great if you want to start the hike early) - the room we stayed in was clean, the bed really comfortable and we had enough space - the staff was super friendly and really welcoming! We can only recommend going there - due to the high humidity there is mold in the bathroom on the ceiling (for us that didn’t really matter because the bathroom itself was clean)
• Ulyana (8/5): Very good - everything was fine, the room was a little cramped, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the city and my stay in it. The owner is friendly and helpful, but be prepared to pay for a bottle of water, which is in the refrigerator.

The hosts were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable experience. The location is superb, providing easy access to all major attractions. We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast, which was a great start to each day. The rooms were beautifully decorated with thoughtful details, including soap, a hairdryer, and other amenities. On our departure day, the host kindly drove us to the train station. Additionally, they provided us with fantastic tips for exploring the area. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delightful stay!" The bathroom was clean but maybe it needs a little upgrade.
