Guest Reviews
- Erin (10/5): Great stay! - We loved our stay Yorke Lodge — it was clean, updated m, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Great hostess. Great breakfast.
- Dave (10/5): Yorke Lodge short stay - A very welcoming experience. Hotel was excellent in all respects and we were made to feel comfortable during our stay. Vicky was a splendid hostess and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Yorke Lodge. We would definitly recommend this B and B
- Georgia (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay immensely!
- Darren (10/5): - The manager was very friendly and helpful the breakfast was great.
- Paul (8/5): Nice comfortable and relaxing stay. - The overall experience was good and the facilities comfortable. Food was of good quality and the staff were friendly. I would recommend it and would happily return.
- John (10/5): - If you're looking for an impeccably clean place, a very courteous innkeeper, easy access to the historic district, easy parking, and a quiet location, look no further. You will not be disappointed.
- Susan (10/5): Definitely would stay here again - A lovely Victorian building and our stay was very comfortable.
Owned by Vicky and helped by Julie, two lovely, friendly ladies.
- Timothy (6/5): - Looks great and was impressed with the room. Plus the bed was really comfy and I slept well. The breakfast was great too.
My only issue, which is a big one, was the lady who runs it.
I found her frosty from the outset and she took an issue with my dog greeting hers. If you have a dog that doesn’t like other dogs, then don’t let it into an area where it’s visible.
Just to smooth things over for my stay, I thought I’d apologise for letting my dog greet hers.
And I didn’t think I’ve ever seen someone accept an apology so badly. If it had been the response from another guest I wouldn’t have been impressed - never mind the proprietor!
- Miguel (10/5): - Required a place to stay the night that was close enough to the business that I had to do in Canterbury. Safe to say this place is great Vicky was very nice and when me and my partner required to check in before time to drop off luggage she went out of her way to make sure we were accommodated, it is located very well close by all your main interest points and unfortunately I woke up with a bad stomach so didn’t have the chance to give it good try unfortunately but based on everything else I can bet that breakfast is top tier.
No faults
- Trevor (10/5): - Great stay for one night. Everything was perfect
- Nicholas (10/5): - Great
- Tammy (10/5): - Wonderful stay! Beautiful room. Fabulous breakfast.

The rooms are lovely and clean and the facilities are excellent. The bed is super is super comfortable.
Delicious breakfast served really efficiently.

- Nick (10/5): - I only stayed one night but the owner was very friendly and helpful. She gave ma some good advice on bus services to get to the county cricket ground. Room was very good with more than adequate space and facilities. Lacked a wardrobe but that was not a problem for one night. Breakfast was excellent and indeed better than a hotel at twice the price that I stayed in earlier in the week
- J P (10/5): Lovely stay - This was my second stay here. I chose it as they were so lovely the first time around and we were not disappointed. very attentive, lovely breakfast. Off road parking, although limited. Walking distance to both the centre of Canterbury and the Uni.

- Kim (10/5): - This is great place with a pretty garden. Limited parking straight outside and a short walk into town. It looks newly refurbished and tastefully so. The room was spotless and very comfortable. I stayed during a very hot week and they had left a mobile AC unit in the room so it was no problem. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and breakfast was cooked to order. Excellent value. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area.
- Jo (8/5): - Lovely clean B&B - very helpful staff.

Only a short walk from the city centre.
Breakfast was fleshly cooked, with a varied menu.

- Verified traveler (10/5): The nature & greenery are as nice as the cathedral - I loved this place! My view of the back garden was so peaceful and beautiful. It was all very clean and new inside, the hosts were friendly and welcoming, breakfast delicious, and I liked the location and nearby walk along the River Stour: beautiful trees and meadows!
The cathedral choral Evensong service is also a beautiful worship experience.
- Shannon (10/5): Best B&B in Canterbury - We will be back!! Both the property and owner are fabulous! Lovely room, best English breakfast w/perfectly poached eggs and we easily walked into town right down the road. It was quiet for sleeping (vs. noisy main street properties) which was one reason we chose it but still so convenient. Highly recommend (and we are picky travelers) 😃
- Linda (10/5): - Vicki and her staff were welcoming, helpful, and have a wonderful b and B. The premises are charming and uncluttered. The back garden was lovely and breakfast was simply the best we had in England. There were nice choices and Julie was just a delight with a great sense of humor. Bed was comfortable, bathroom spacious and well stocked. The place was safe and secure. There was a pleasant walk to Tower gate and many places to have whatever beverage you desired. I recommend this place to stay because of its physical comforts and personable owner and staff. The experience was positive in all ways.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Friendly, clean, dignified
- Joseph (10/5): - We enjoyed staying here, short walk to historic area. Staff was very pleasant & gave great tips for seeing/ visiting Canterbury.

Will definitely stay there again.
- John (10/5): - I can’t recommend Yorke Lodge Bed
and Breakfast highly enough. Everything about my stay was perfection. The lovely old home has been updated beautifully, my room was quiet, comfortable and immaculate, and every room is very tastefully done. But most of all, Vicky was the perfect host—accommodating, friendly, and incredibly helpful. I’ve never enjoyed a stay more.
- Laura (10/5): - The people who checked us in were very friendly and helpful…Kate gave us great places to try!
- Mukta (10/5): Charming property - A lovely , charming place . I would say it’s more like a boutique hotel rather than a lodge . The whole property looked very clean and very tastefully decorated. My room was very comfortable. Walking distance from the restaurants. The host was very accommodating - provided oat milk on request . I would thoroughly recommend this place.

- Gill (10/5): Lovely B&B in excellent location - We had a lovely stay at Yorke Lodge B&B. Met on arrival by the owner and shown to room, giving us information on Canterbury also. Unusually for many places, the bed was super comfortable - a great relief! Beautiful cotton bedding and an air con unit meant that in the current unexpected heatwave we were cool and comfortable. The welcome and ongoing service was really personable and helpful. There was a useful folder in the room with local info etc
Breakfast was absolutely delicious - we could not fault anything. Fresh fruit, yoghurts and juice, full English and other choices, tea and coffee.
In all, a great place to stay, with lots to do in surrounding area and some lovely eating places.

- Amanda (10/5): - This was my second visit to the Yorke Lodge, and it is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Canterbury or any other beautiful cities around Kent. There is a bus stop right down the road, and a train station very close by. Vicky and staff are helpful and friendly with recommendations and suggestions for a wonderful stay. Plus, breakfast is included and the croissants are the best I've ever had. My 17 year old daughter fell in love with the dog that lives at the lodge, as well as the comfy bed with down pillows and comforter. The room is beautiful and includes a lovely tea tray for a lovely touch to make you feel at home. We will be back again...hopefully as soon as next year. =)

- Xinyi (10/5): - Spotlessly clean little b&b. The breakfast is simple but homely and tasty — when was the last time I was woken up by the wafting aroma of sizzling bacons? The owners are super friendly. I am feeling as if I am staying with some close relatives. The cookies and books in the rooms are such a delight. The shower has strong water pressure, and the bedding is thick and comforting. I also adore the stained stained glass windows and the sunlit breakfast room, and the resident puppy! It’s about 10-15 min walk from the train station and old city centre, quiet but convenient. I would consider bringing my family back here if I come back to Canterbury.
