Guest Reviews
- Annette (10/5): Heerlijke plek vlakbij Taroko national park. Precies helemaal niets.
- Adam (10/5): This is how it should be done - This was a surprise (a good one), I did not expect this accommodation to be this nice. Expected a young touristy vibe, but I was pleasantly surprised in the end (not saying it's not suitable for young tourists, quite the opposite). The owner and his assistant are very nice. The owner is indigenous Taiwanese and he will happily and proudly explain a brief history of his people and the area in very good English. He will also personally show you the room and everything you will need. This personal treatment is a big plus to me. The room and the bathroom are very nice and you truly have a feeling you are at someone's home. The breakfast was so good, the portion was even too big (for me). The garden around the house is unbelievably pretty. There are restaurants and places which the owner recommended us. A car or a scooter is nice to have to get around, but even walking is not out of question. Bring a travel outlet adapter. Payment was made automatically from my debit card via Booking a few hours before check-in – hassle free. If you decide to go to the nearby town, don't miss "Xincheng Bund", chances are you will be completely alone as far as you can see, only the ocean waves crashing on the gravel beach. Pure bliss.

- Jason (10/5): Beautiful location with a wonderful owner - We had a lovely experience here, space is beautiful and so close to Taroko park. Teyra, the owner, greeted us personally, and really made the stay special. Breakfast was great, and we stayed in the hot tub room and used it, and there was plenty of hot water and nice products.
- Arad (10/5): a lovely and relaxing stay in a beautiful setting. - We had a lovely stay at Crossing the Rainbow Bridge B&B. The location is excellent — very close to the entrance of Taroko National Park, which made it extremely convenient for exploring the area.
The owners and staff were wonderful — incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming. You can really feel the care and attention they put into the place. The property itself is charming, with a beautiful garden full of flowers that adds to the relaxing atmosphere.
The room was comfortable overall. There was some noise from the road, as well as from the fridge, but it was manageable.
The highlight of our stay was definitely the outdoor bathtub and the balcony seating area — both were absolutely dreamy, and we really enjoyed spending time there.
Overall, a very pleasant and special stay, especially thanks to the atmosphere and the hospitality.

- sander (9/5): - Such a lovely and kind owner! Location was really really close to Taroko gorge! Just straight next to the road
- Mathias (8/5): -
- Vivien (10/5): Magical :) - Teyra and the staff (and the cats!) are so friendly, welcoming and helpful; the garden is magical (we got a frog concert), the breakfast fabulous and the surroundings nothing but stunning!
We got to borrow bikes for a little tour, too.
Our stay was completely perfect! -
- Mark (10/5): - Owner
- Kimber (9/5): - Super nette, ruime kamer.
- Robin (10/5): A delightful, relaxing location with wonderful host and delicious breakfast. - Location at entry to Toroko Gorge Natl park and road to town or scenic tunnels. The host was so kind and shared his family history living in area for generations. Very relaxing environment. Views of morning rainbow over bridge if clear morning. Hence “Rainbow Bridge” name. Having to get coins to do laundry vs FREE or easy access to $ bill exchanged for local coins.
- AK (10/5): - Perfect location, perfect room, perfect people
- Roger (10/5): Heel leuke homestay. - Mooie kamer, prima bedden, heel lekker ontbijt. Prachtige plek. Origineel ontvangst. Niets
- Andrzej (9/5): -

- Jeffrey (8/5): The stay included a great host, great location, and great room. - The host and staff were extremely friendly. The grounds were beautiful and in a great location. The rooms were huge for the value.
- Dennis (10/5): -
- Portocarrero (10/5): A charming hotel in a great location - A charming hotel in a great location, close to the entrance to Taroko National Park. Quiet location, despite its proximity to the road, set in a private garden full of vegetation. Spectacular rooms, very spacious, with lots of natural light and very comfortable beds. Excellent cleanliness and amenities. Good breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere. The friendliness and helpfulness of Mr Teyra, who speaks English, are comforting. Highly recommended! Everything was perfect.

- Mareva (7/5): Good facilities but too close to the bridge - The owner was very friendly and keen to tell us more about the region and Taroko people. The room was quite big and comfortable. We liked the sitting area by the windows. The B&B is too close to the main street for my taste. We could hear cars passing by at night at a distant from our room. There were no restaurants or shops within walking distance. A car is necessary.
- Joanna (10/5): - The owner was very hospitable, he welcomed us even when we reached after the sun set. We known him as principal "校长", a very well respectable senior among the Taroko group. He sang a welcome song in the local Taroko language. The room was spacious, bed was extremely comfortable, the toilet was well equipped with strong water pressure. The morning breakfast was humble yet filling. The view outside the hotel was perfect to see the sun rise in the morning from the Pacific ocean. We even got the chance to see an owl flying near where we eat (we were kept separated by a glass window). The surrounding area was serene and neatly kept, I would love to spend more nights there. -
Heel vriendelijke ontvangen. Mooie kamer schoon, uitzicht op de brug.
Ontbijt goed, uitgebreid, brood, kaas worst, gebakken eitjes, fruit, cake, koffie, thee.
- Andrew (10/5): Memorable stay with a wonderful host. - A memorable stay. The obvious highlight was being greeted by our host with a traditional Taroko song; he could not have been more kind or helpful. Our room was perfect and we started each day with a lovely breakfast (even when we needed to have it at 6.30). It was the best accommodation we have had in more than two weeks in Taiwan and was great value for money and a perfect base from which to explore the Taroko Gorge. Nothing… it was a most enjoyable stay.
- Ulrich (9/5): Für Wanderungen in die Taroko Schlucht immer wieder gerne.☺️ - Sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Besitzer. Gute Ausgangslage zur Taroko Schlucht. Leider hört man die Straße relativ laut.
- Osorio (10/5): - Request vegan breakfast and they provided. Location was ideal if you plan to go to the national forest. Host was incredibly sweet and helpful. He cares a lot about their town. We experienced a lot of rain and they gave us options of things to do nearby. They provide transportation to the train station if you ask!
- Andrus (8/5): -
- Martijn (8/5): Amazing location for Tarokko Park - Location and friendly owner. Thanks for the nice song! Breakfast was a bit too fatty for our taste.
- Jan (10/5): - Excellent hotel near Toroko national park .
Very nice garden .
Friendly personal .
- Kittichan (9/5): - Ein super netter Gastgeber in diesem Homestay!
- Stephanie (9/5): Peaceful base at the entrance of Taroko National Park - Right at the entrance of Taroko National Park - excellent location if you want to spend some time there or base yourself in a convenient location to explore the Qingshui Cliffs and Liyu Lake. Short drive to several local restaurants.
The owner, Teyra, was wonderful - incredibly welcoming and accommodating.
Great to have breakfast prepared at the B&B and ready to go before a big day of exploring!
- Jason (9/5): What a lovely guest house and the owner is very welcoming and friendly -
- Christian (8/5): -
Nichts
- Jennifer (10/5): Wonderful stay - Beautiful garden, room was clean, very friendly staff, washer and dryer on site
- Ben (10/5): - Very nice place and very helpful team. Every thing was great! The breakfast is not the best but also ok.
- Wayne (8/5): -
- Lieven (9/5): - Liebevoller Gastgeber in wunderschöner Location
- Hung Wen (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nina (10/5): Great stay close to nature - It is such a beautiful place! We stayed there for a night instead of staying in Hualien and it was great. Amazing rooms and bathrooms, very nice and helpful staff and a lovely owner, who is eager to share stories about indigenous people from Taroko.
- Petusko1 (10/5): Exceptional - The stay was something really special for us. The owner of the hotel is extremely nice, speaks good English, answered all our questions and told us a lot about Taiwanese people.
The room was in perfect condition and the breakfast was amazing. I can highly recommend it to all travelers! Nothing
- Nicole (10/5): Friendly, comfortable and beautiful! - The owner was so friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with song and history. Very close to Toroko Gorge.
- Kelly (10/5): Excellent place to stay close to Toroko Gorge - Teyra is a wonderful host and takes pride in his home accommodation and in his culture. We appreciated the Welcome song in the Toroko language and his sharing of his history.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolin (8/5): A wonderful stay in Taroko Gorge - A wonderful place with a wonderful host. We had a very spacious room with green views all around, the street is barely noticeable. Trails in Taroko Gorge were still closed due to the 2024 earthquake and the host recommended to take a bike (which he offers free of charge to the guests) for the day-- this was such a good idea to get around and explore Taroko Gorge by bike. We also got a lift to the train station. Overall, a great stay and we are still talking about the traditional welcome and farewell song that was sung to us :-)
- Will (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jakob (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly welcome and nice and clean rooms.
- Jean-Louis (10/5): Parfait !
- Nechama (9/5): Nice accommodation - Very accommodating host. Varied and generous breakfast
- Anne (10/5): good vibes stay - The room was really great, and we enjoyed our 1 night stay. We wished we could have stayed there a bit longer but it was not possible, and in the end we changed our plan as Taroko park was still closed.
We loved the room and it’s decoration, the magnificent garden, the smiley-served delicious breakfast, and the hosts were extremely nice - we even had the chance to hear a very melodious indigenous song sang a-cappella by the proprietary, wishing us to be strong and happy. 🥰
We also found convenient the parking lot as we arrived by car. Maybe a bit too close to the road. If you don’t have a car, I am not sure it is easy to reach.
- Denise (10/5): One of the Very Best B&B's in Taiwan! - What a lovely stay! This is truly one of the best B&B's in all of Taiwan. The host, a native of the Taroko people, was gracious and kind, even singing me a welcome song in his native language. The room was perfect, incredible views of the gardens, immaculately clean, and very comfortable with loads of thoughtful touches. The breakfast was plentiful with a huge variety of very tasty selections. The gardens were fabulous, complete with koi pond, paths with botanical name plates, and a little lookout over the bicycle storage garage. There is a convenience store and restaurants just across the bridge. It really doesn't get any better than this! Absolutely fabulous!
- Lara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (10/5): Stay here. Warm welcome and comfort. In front of entrance to the park - The warm welcome. Comfort and serenity. Yummy breakfast It was perfect
- Emily (10/5): Best experience - Brilliant location. The best thing about staying at Crossing the Rainbow Bridge was the hosts. So so lovely and open to share so much about their culture. Such a special and important experience to know more about their land. Thank you so much!!
- Mugford (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was great and very plentiful. fresh vegetable
I'm sure it was made from produce grown in the owner's garden. The room was nice and clean, just like staying at a relative's house. The owner was the friendliest and very welcoming, leaving a great impression. Even though we couldn’t walk in Taroko, we could still enjoy cycling around the village and along the seaside.
- Peta (10/5): Exceptional - Great property with large clean room, very comfortable and big selection provided for breakfast.
Good location near beach, plus you can head north, south or inland from the property.
Very friendly host who provides helpful information about the area and about the local history.
Even though the area is effected by 2024 earthquake, it is good to support the economy of local businesses who need it most.
Highly recommend and would stay again if in the area.
- Carmen (10/5): Exceptional - It was a really pleasant stay, thank you very much!
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room surrounded by beautiful garden and great ocean views. Delightful common/breakfast area, superb breakfast served in the morning. Very helpful owner provided and discussed local information with us in English.
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful, comfortable and friendly owner - I was very warmly welcomed by the owner who also told me a lot about his local culture and about the area too. It was really interesting for me.
The room itself was beautiful and I’d definitely love to return for a couple days in the future. Would be perfect for a stay with a partner.
They also had two very sweet cats there!
- Ondrej (10/5): Friendly owner, we had great stay! - Very clean, beautiful garden Nothing
- John (9/5): great host, location and room - helpful and welcoming host
great location close to the Taroko entrance and not far from Hualien and the coast
nice house with greenery and cats to entertain
Comfortable room and bed We stayed 3 nights and had exactly the same breakfast served which tend to be on the cold side if going down too late.
- Jenna (10/5): Wonderfully authentic - Best hosts, clean rooms. The host is the nicest guy !
- Monika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): Convenient b&b for visiting Taroko Gorge - The owner was very helpful and gave us a warm welcome. The B&B is near the main road, easy to find but not noisy at all. It is 4 min drive from Taroko Gorge visitor centre, very convenient. Parking was easy, and restaurants are 5 min drive away. There were mosquitoes/ midges in the room, possibly the previous guests might have left the windows/ nets opened. However, the accommodation was in the green area, so not a criticism, more a warning.
- Sina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deez (10/5): I will 100% return, best stay in Taiwan, cycling around hualien on the mountain bikes providedwith - Breakfast was absolutely amazing, simple yet delicious and with the most beautiful view into a peaceful garden with a pond
- Lee (10/5): Amazing stay surrounded by nature, paradise-like, bikes available and excellent breakfast - The place looked like a paradise with an amazing garden. Just aside the Taroko National Park and very close to the beach. We could access the National Park and the beach with the very good bikes that Crossing The Rainbow Bridge provided to us. The breakfast was excellent. Great vegetarian options and diversity of options. Tropical fruits, toasts, hot meals, good drinks among other great options provided by the hotel. The host and the staff was very kind and friendly. Thank you for the great stay! It was all excellent, no negative points.
- Mariusz (10/5): Wonderful stay in an amazing place. Highly recommended! -
- Jr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): - The owner knows the history of Taiwan and the area. He is a wonderful person to meet. The place is so well put together. It even includes a pond with large koin carp (goldfish). The breakfast is very good. There are bicycles to ride should you so wish. We chose to ride!
