- Ed (10/5): Excellent stay at the Churchill Hotel. Highly recommend. - We were in Bayeux to visit the Normandy beaches. This is a great location for such a trip and our tour company picked up just a short five minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is also in a great location with numerous restaurants, cafe’s, bars and a grocery store right next door. It’s also an easy fifteen minute walk to and from the train station. Wall’s were maybe a little thin. We could easily hear the people next door.

- John (9/5): A great place, right in the center of town! Would stay there again. - The location was great, close to shopping, restaurants/bars and even a small grocery store. Close to tourist places & the Tourist Info center. There is a quaint courtyard to sit in also. The rooms were a bit small, but nice! The directions to the hotel are a bit misleading as there are 2 entrances, The one given on the site is the one on the small walking street, not a place you can drive up to if you are traveling by car. There is another entrance on the other side, by the courtyard. This is where the small parking area is located, maybe 10 cars. That street is Place de Quebec. It’s very handy. The hotel is older and does not have an elevator, so you need to walk up the stairs to get to your room. If your room is 204, that’s actually on the 3rd floor.

They made us dinner reservations and offered several recommendations for dining. The location is excellent, right in the center of town. They have a shuttle that you can book to St. Mont Michel, which is a bonus. The room was large and windows opened onto a view of the main street. I would stay here again. There is no elevator, but the staff brought our bags to the room which was very helpful. We didn't like the breakfast. They don't y have a cooked breakfast. Eggs were offered, but the scrambled eggs were precooked , not cooked to order. The croissants and pastries were mini and looked like supermarket items, not bakery items.

Bayeux es un pueblo muy bonito con una catedral impresionante y edificios que le hacen parecer un pueblo de cuento. El hotel es muy bonito, tiene mucho estilo. Las habitaciones son un poquito pequeñas pero la cama es muy cómoda. Está situado al lado de un supermercado y varios lugares donde comer. El desayuno es muy bueno, con bastante variedad. El personal de recepción no habla español pero intentan entenderte como sea, fueron muy amables. El agua caliente dura poco, a veces pasabamos un poco de frio para ducharnos. Asi que recomiendo duchas de 2 minutos!! Jajajaja

I was able to check in very late in the evening without any problems. I loved the historic feel and appearance of the Churchill, as well as the name. Great hotel for a good night's sleep too. Nothing.

I did not enjoy the room door needing a key to open from the inside. Seems like a safety concern. But that could be a normal France/ European way.

The rooms can be quite small depending upon your assigned room please alert the hotel when you book if you have disabilities or need a walk-in shower there are a few available. A nonslip mat was not available for the shower tub combination. This is a soaker tub, very deep and required my presence in the shower for my husband to get in and out safely. The lighting in the room was quite dim, but there are adequate plugs or charging your technology. Breakfast was average for the price.

Hot water for tea just not hot enough.

- kathryn (10/5): Perfect location, wonderfully welcoming and helpful staff. - The location was central and we could walk to everything, including the (paid) car park where we could leave the car on the hotel's doorstep. Not a problem it being paid - we knew this was the case in Bayeux. Not much parking space, it being a medieval city! The greeting we received was warm and genuine. Breakfast was great and allowed for an early start in the morning, There was a patio outside where we ate the remains of our daytime picnic for dinner one night accompanied by a glass of wine or two from the hotels's bar. Very relaxing after a big day and so convenient. (there was a small grocer literally next door to the hotel to stock up on picnic supplies if you are heading out for the day ). Even though we had a car, we booked the shuttle to Mt St Michel and it was a very easy and relaxing way to travel. It was operated by the hotel and left from the door. Nothing! It was great.

It has a fabulous breakfast bar and is located near many high quality restaurants for lunch and dinner. Fun shopping the downtown streets. The street market on Saturday was great fun, too. The staff at the Churchill was over the top in a good way!!! Stay there. You won’t regret it.

We noted an issue with our shower door which was off the track on one side. Could not close the door which resulted in the floor getting soaked each morning.

- Arjan Egelmeers (8/5): Perfect voor uitstapjes en gezelligheid in de stad - Uitstekende locatie. Je loopt de deur uit en je zit meteen op de hoofdstraat met restaurants, bistrots en winkels. Prima plek om uitstapjes te maken in de omgeving met de auto. Bedden prima, kussens ook goed. Douche/badkamer niks op aan te merken. Let wel dit is betaald parkeren, en het kan druk zijn. Wij hadden echter iedere dag een betaalde parkeerplek achter het hotel zonder problemen: Pl. du Québec, 14400 Bayeux, Frankrijk. Slechte wifi.
- Robin (10/5): - The front desk staff was very friendly and helped with questions that we had. The location of this hotel was perfect for walking to the Bayeux tapestry and cathedral, seeing the town, restaurants, tourism office, patisserie, etc. A great hotel with parking available, although not a lot of spaces in front of the hotel, there are many lots nearby. Breakfast is available for purchase. Very clean room, nice sized bathroom. Highly recommend this hotel. (Be aware, there are steps to some of the rooms and no lift).
- Jens Anton (6/5): Fin beliggenhed men plads til forbedringer på morgenmaden. - Beliggenheden super god - centralt udgangspunkt for at se en masse og lige midt i byen. Personalt venlige og yderst hjælpsomme! Morgenmaden var ok, men heller ikke mere. Mangler udvalg i brød og det, der var der, var ret hårdt og lidt tørt. Der er plads til en opgradering af morgenmaden! Vi fik et værelse uden vinduer til det fri, men et værelse midt i huset med et vindue ud til en trappeopgang. Ikke rimeligt ud fra prisniveauet for opholdet.
