A history lover's dream! - I loved the location of the property, its idiosyncrasies and history, the facilities and the lovely hosts, Andy and Maria, who were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I had a very comfortable stay and although I was there for work, I still had time to explore the town of Bridgnorth which the Stoneway Guest house was a perfect starting place to do so. The gorgeous stairwell which the guest house is located at looks straight from a fantasy story! It connects Low Town to High Town and reminds me of the pretty parts of Old Town Edinburgh, and halfway up the stairs is a Theatre On The Steps, a theatre venue with a variety of stage and music performances literally 1 minute (2 and a half set of steps) away from the guest house. There's plenty to see around the town, all of which is within 10 minutes walk from the guest house, which makes it such an idea base to be in. I had a perfect view of the Railway right outside my room too which was great! It wasn't too noisy so it didn't wake me in the morning and it closes at 6pm so it won't keep you up at night which is a great bonus for such a perfect view of such a rarity. I would have to say the room itself had a slight dusty smell which didn't bother me too much as you kind of get used to it within a few hours, and is to be expected in a building with such a long history. Also the WiFi signal didn't seem too stable at some points, but I was able to use some of my mobile data which I had good signal with; and considering I didn't spend too much time indoors from exploring the local area, which there is plenty to explore, it didn't pose as a big issue in the end.

It's location above the ticket office allows for some spectacular views of the funicular railway in operation.. While parking was cheap it was a bit confusing at first to find the right park of the car park to actually park in and to navigate to the establishment. A friendly local guided me as google walking maps had me going round in circles.

- Matthew (8/5): Very good hosts, comfy stay in a great location - Was close to the Severn Valley Railway and also only a couple of minutes walk from the town center, very well placed for me. Plenty of nice places to eat, found a good pub. The walk every morning to Bridgnorth was either hilly with a great view once at the top, or there were a couple of less steep routes, all three were very pleasant walks. My hosts were very nice people, gave me some useful information about the area, and the breakfast was excellent, did me for the day very nicely! The room was ideal for me, everything was clean in there and the bathroom, and I slept very well every night. Can't think of anything really... except for the cliffside railway which is visible from the breakfast foom...it runs straight under the house!... was out of action unfortunately, but that is obviously not any complaint against t my hosts or the stay. It was great!

Owners very hospitable and helpful. Breakfast delicious I was a bit surprised to find I had to share a bathroom - I hadn't noticed this when I booked. However it proved not to be a problem in practice, I never had to wait to use it.

The only fault I could find was that the exterior of the windows in the breakfast room were dirty with cobwebs. Next to impossible to clean I imagine being on the cliff railway track.

- Elaine (8/5): Overnight Stay in Bridgnorth - Pleasant overnight stay in Bridgnorth in this interesting house which straddles the vernacular railway between high and low town and so is very conveniently located for the upwards/downwards trip for those who are averse to steps. (It only runs 9 till 5 so no issues with noise!) It was clean and comfortable, our hosts had put a lot of thought into Covid 19 preparations and the full English breakfast was very good, and good value too.

- David (10/5): Wonderful hosts and comfortable stay - A lovely stay all round in this character property with warm and welcoming hosts. The room and bed were comfy and the breakfast in the morning was delicious and perfectly cooked. Perfect place to stay being close to the Severn Valley Railway and also Bridgnorth town and all its sights and pleasantries. Note that there are steps and a lack of parking but as I cane by train it wasn’t an issue. You also get to admire the cliff railway in operation over breakfast.

- Tanvir (10/5): 5 Stars - Absolutely wonderful stay, I initially got the times for check in mixed up and the owner Tracey was so understanding and lovely and let us check in a little bit earlier than usual. The room was nice and tidy and the bed was super comfortable and warm. Plenty of room with a nice en-suite and a view of the river. Brilliant location too, as it is right above the entrance to the cliff railway which enables easy access to the town centre. The local surrounding restaurants were great too and only a stones throw away from an ice cream shop and plenty of river side bars and pubs. Will definitely be coming back soon!
