- Floyd (8/5): Nice and quiet. - Very helpful staff
- Melody (7/5): -
- Pam (8/5): - My expectations for an overnight stay were met: great price, friendly staff, clean. The only complaint: Finding the motel once in town was difficult…poor signage.
- Shane (6/5): -
- Peter (10/5): 1 overnight, no hassle, quiet and clean - Easy check in. Friendly staff No sign out front of hotel.
- Matt (8/5): -
- Cameron (6/5): Good location. Right next to USAIR Raceway. - Quiet place to stay.
- Tom (1/5): Do not stay here. They will rip off your deposit. - Horrible. Rip off. Keeps deposit for leaving key cards in room. DO NOT STAY HERE!
- Steven (3/5): Meh - It was quiet Everything is out dated and the pool has been closed for a very long time and I dont think they plan on opening it ever
- john (8/5): - No breakfast
- Anna (2/5): Never again - Nothing Kinda dirty rude person behind desk an he made me pay more then what I reserved the room for
- Kierstin (10/5): - Everything There was no sign
- Sandy (9/5): -
- Keith (1/5): - Nothing. Staff.
- Allison (9/5): - Reasonably priced, clean and quiet. About 30 minutes from Green Bay, so a great spot to spend the night if you're in town for a game. Nothing fancy, so if you're looking for entertainment, a lounge, breakfast, swimming, etc., this isn't necessarily what you want. If you're in town & need a safe, quiet place to sleep, it's great. We'd definitely stay again. Nothing really. We weren't looking for lots of amenities, so we were happy.
- Chausmary (9/5): Nice economical place to stay. - The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions. No breakfast option. Pool not open (since COVID).
- Troy (9/5): -
- Shawn (10/5): -
- White (1/5): - Nothing Rude as hell
Denied us our room at check in
- Burt (10/5): - No breakfast..but good coffee Nothing
- Chris (9/5): -
- Shannon (7/5): - Comfy beds, clean Neither the pool or hot tub was NOT working 😕
- Aimee (5/5): It was cheap convenient but not comfortable - Location The beds are so uncomfortable
- Mackenzie (10/5): -
- THERESA (8/5): - Room was clean, bed was comfortable, could use a little updating, friendly staff stayed for a dairy show. Close to restaurants convenient to downtown. Would stay again.
- Eric (9/5): Cheap and clean! - Property is clean and staff is friendly. Pool is closed, older property with no proper welcome sign, looks abandoned.
- DENNIS (10/5): -
- Kris (7/5): -
- David (8/5): - Great price and generally clean, but very outdated, no breakfast, and no other amenities. Staff was helpful, friendly, and good.
- David (10/5): Exactly what we wanted. - Location was great and close to everything you want to do. No
- Dirk (6/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): Clean, Comfy and cheap. - You need a safe, cheap place to do the 3s? (sleep, shower, an... use the toilet?) in NE WI north woods? This is it. And Shawano is the unofficial "capitol of the North Woods" so yeah. No frills. Get your 40 winks here.
- Charlene (8/5): -
- Jackie (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Don't expect much. - The group that owns and runs this property is notorious for doing things in the cheap. Hotel is old and needs updating. TV in my room was over 20 years old tube type. Pool has been closed for years. No breakfast or amenities. No fridge and rooms need repairs. No elevator or sign in front of hotel. Just a bed is all you should expect. Rooms are fairly clean but daily services are not much.
- Anthony (8/5): - Very quiet. Room was clean. TV and internet worked well. Basic 2 queen bed room.
- Jeff (10/5): Clean and fresh - I just needed a nice place to sleep for one night. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, especially since the nightly rate was pretty low.
- Faust (8/5): -
- James (10/5): - It was a great place to stay for a night while on a road trip. The price was excellent and the room was very clean. The hotel had everything we needed to be comfortable.
- Erik (8/5): - A nice basic, clean, inexpensive but slightly outdated hotel.
- Madison (10/5): - It was very cozy and great for the price Slightly outdated
- Anna (4/5): - The price is too high for this old hotel. Never been remodeled
- Bill (5/5): Just a place to sleep. - Location was good, quiet. Comfortable bed and pillows. Had a nice couch in room. TV was so small. No information in room. Wasn’t told when check out was. No instructions for hot tub. No phones in room. Fridge was off.
- Barbara (10/5): - Great service very freindly and will stay again.
- Ronald (9/5): Very clean and cozy room - Staff was very helpful and friendly The tv could have been bigger
- Sandy (6/5): - We were the only ones there! They DO NOT offer breakfast. Pool was closed. The room was basic but comfortable. No fridge or microwave in the room.
- Stephanie (8/5): Perfect and Cheap - Older hotel, but clean rooms, cold AC, and hot water. Right next to anything you may want or need - ie walmart, kwiktrip, IHOP. Front desk gentlemen (maybe owner?) very nice and accommodating. Housekeeping cleaned daily. We had 4 rooms and stayed for a total of 3 nights. Could benefit from some updated TV's but other than that really nothing to complain about especially for the LOW rate.
- Michelle (8/5): - Staff very helpful. Needs updating. Sink didn't work but was promptly fixed. Good place to stay for price. Clean
- Meagan (4/5): It was okay, but I’ve stayed at better places in Shawano. Not worth the price. Nice Manager and big room with comfortabl - The room was nice and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The manager was also very nice. The water pressure on the sink was extremely weak, thankfully though the manager did come and fix it half way through our stay and he was very nice about it. The water pressure in the shower my husband described it as painfully hard. The hot water on the jacuzzi did not work at all so we did not get to enjoy that. The room had an old musky smell to it which made it kinda difficult to enjoy. Also, the humidity in the room was terrible and made everything sticky. The appliances are very old — the fridge froze everything.
- Jessamine (8/5): Affordable stay - It was a fine place to stay for the night on a road trip, and very affordable. Not necessarily a problem, but be aware that there was no fridge or microwave in the room.
- Me (Steve Dropkin) (8/5): - House of Rest has everything you need and just a few things you don't. For that deal you *get* a deal, a good room for a fraction of what you can pay elsewhere in the city. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, and it was exactly what two people needed for a night of their journey. I'd stay here again.
- Craig (8/5): Show them some love! - It is a newly independent operator after having been a chain so i encourage folks to patronize this new business. Yes, it needs updating, but the very affordable prices should let people know they are looking to attract business.!
- Branden (2/5): - I was charged $10 for using a hand towel that got dirty. I was told I would get a $90 refund on my deposit. Never received the $90 refund.
The front desk man was very weird and gave bad vibes. 10/10 never going back
- Jonathan A (10/5): - N/A
- Debra (10/5): - Quiet, peaceful atmosphere, clean
- Jennifer (6/5): - Property does not look like the picture at all! There is no signage there isn’t a warm feeling outside or inside the building and the room was dreary - no pictures on the wall couldn’t watch the tv had to ask specifically for WiFi - was not happy and will not be coming back ever.
- Gerard (10/5): - The Manager,David and his staff made sure that everything in our room was to our expectations. The Motel is located next to Tacos Bell. Their sign is in the process of being replaced with a new one. I would highly recommend this Motel. The price was very reasonable. I will stay here again when in the area!
- elizabeth (10/5): - The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. They were very accommodating. I truly enjoyed my stay there. It was reasonably priced.
- Nicholas (10/5): - The TV and lights were a bit dated and the pool was closed, but very nice staff, and very clean room. 10/10 for the basic needs
- Christopher (8/5): - Good value.
- Chausmary (7/5): Good -
- Julie (5/5): Very outdated but clean. - Clean Everything else
- james (8/5): Nice staff, outdated property - The greeter was very friendly. Our room was clean, but outdated. I would recommend for the price.
- Amie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anna (7/5): No frills, clean, quiet, affordable place to stay. - clean and quiet The light wasn't on the marquis outside - it looked closed driving by. (Hard to find at night).
- Julia (9/5): Superb -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Terry (10/5): - Quiet, clean, comfortable beds, good location all at a reasonable cost.
- shanna (8/5): - stains in tum burn marks on floor but the staff was nice
- Karen (10/5): - We stayed here the night before and after a Packers game. The hotel was quiet and extremely clean. The building itself is not updated, but it has everything we needed for a great nights sleep. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly! Breakfast isn’t included but there is delicious hot coffee in the lobby and an IHOP and family restaurant minutes away. Conveniently located right off of highway 29. Highly recommend! We will definitely choose this hotel again if we’re in the area.
- Randy (9/5): Superb - Clean comfortable room, helpful and courteous staff. No breakfast. They didn't advertise one, but would have been nice.
- Melissa (10/5): - Comfortable, clean. Stayed here on way home from Packers game. Wonder if the pool will ever open again? Haha
- Nicci (9/5): Superb - Didn’t have breakfast. Location good Would have appreciated coffee being available
- Kelly (9/5): Superb - Great staff, easy check in and check out. Clean rooms and beds despite having older furnishings. The only thing was we would have liked a few more outlets near the nightstand/bedside table.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Kristin (8/5): Very good - I thought the check-in process was very straight forward and the facility was priced appropriately.
I found $271 in my hotel room! Bonus! The pool and hot tub were not open and there was no breakfast offered.
Although I was ecstatic to find a wad of cash in my room, I was a little concerned about the fact that housekeeping didn't see it when they were cleaning the room after the prior guest left.
No refrigerator in the room was unfortunate because I had to waste my dinner leftovers.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mandi (6/5): Worth if for the price! - Stayed here for the Packer game! Was very well priced considering it’s only 30ish minutes from Lambeau. We will definitely stay again. It is a very basic, outdated hotel, but it works for a night! The facility was clean and staff was kind. Beds weren’t very comfortable, very outdated.
- Greg (4/5): - This hotel does not have an identifying sign out from. When we arrived at about 6pm on a Friday night we were the only guest cars. There was one employee car. Letter board sign say rooms $45/night, nothing else and not starting at. We paid $230 for two nights. Their pool and hot tub were not in operation. The sign said shut down until farther notice. The man at the desk said it was shut down for Covid…. That was what like four years ago lol. When I couldn’t help but laugh at this he said your room had been cancelled. I was like I didn’t request that but I also can’t stop from laughing at that comment. We made the best of it. They dont have any restrooms in common areas only in rooms. Room seemed nice at first. After starting to use it we felt differently. Tub would not drain, so only one of the four of us showered. Toilet had to be flushed from inside the back of it so I had to go open it up and flush it after each person used the bathroom. The whirlpool was missing buttons but seemed to work without them. The tv was an old big box style like I had when I was a kid I’m in my 40’s now. Tv also didn’t work very well, the remote was very finicky. There wasn’t a coffee maker in room but coffee was available at the front desk. The candy machines next to the soda machine were completely empty. Other than that it seemed ok. Luckily we were only sleeping here and being entertained other places. My five year old was really heart broken about not being able to swim in the pool.
- Martin (8/5): Very good - Jacuzzi in the room The pool was closed
- Goodrich (6/5): It's great place when you need to stay for the night - The price was right for a one day stay i It didn't offer a free breakfast
- Glen (9/5): Stay Here if you're in the area. - Loved David at the front desk. He was extremely helpful and accommodating. His recommendation for breakfast was spot on! Definitely try The Farm Inn On Main Street.
- Scott (10/5): Host is amazing - Value
Very clean
Simple and all we need
Stay here often It’s great
- Ronald (10/5): Exceptional -
- mikayla (10/5): - This is a nice place to stay. Good location. I recommend staying here.
Pros: friendly staff, room was clean, entire hotel appeared clean, great shower water pressure, very quiet (we were in a 1st floor room and it was quiet).
Cons: the room could use some updating (but was very clean), the mattress was not the most comfortable.
Overall, this is a good place to stay. Had a refrigerator and microwave in the room. I was really impressed with how clean the room was.
- Wanda (10/5): - The amenities are Spartan, but the rooms are clean and are very affordable. The hotel is very quiet and there is plenty of parking.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Extremely clean and quiet! When they say no smoking I am always concerned but there was no hint of smoking. Even the carpet was great and clean! Thank you.
- Alex (10/5): - Great hotel friendly staff.
- Kelly (10/5): - I’ve stayed over a dozen times here while in town for events. Always friendly quick check ins. Hotel with just the basics, perfect.
- Eileen (9/5): It was pleasant. - The staff greeting at the check in desk was pleasant and professional. The cost was exceptional. There was a slight odor of cigarette smoke that permeated the place.
- Julie (10/5): - Excellent - clean, safe, comfortable, excellent staff. Will be back.
- Patrick (6/5): Adequate but barren and overpriced - The good news: the room was perfectly clean, I was able to sleep comfortably, and the hotel was quiet (probably because there were very few guests—only five cars in the parking lot). The attendant was pleasant enough, although my calls to the front desk went unanswered. First, the hotel was difficult to find because it has no sign. Apparently it was acquired a couple of years ago (the former name appears to have started with «K») and still no sign has been put up: the old one is just draped with a black tarpaulin, as if the owners were in mourning. The marquee is still visible, but it does not give the hotel's name, just the price of $45 per night.
Second, other than the wireless network, the facilities are almost exactly what would expect of a rural Holiday Inn in 1975—worse, actually, because the swimming pool is closed. Practically no amenities beyond the minimum are offered. There is a spacious lobby with tables and chairs, but it seems to be of little use, since no breakfast is offered (coffee is made available in the morning for people who drink it; I don't). Even receiving packages is made needlessly difficult: the clerk told me that any package would have to come by courier, not by the regular postal service. I ended up not having a package directed to the hotel because I could not know the modality by which it would be sent.
Third, the price is much too high for the threadbare standard of quality offered. The advertised price of $45 would be fair, but I paid twice that—again, on a night when the hotel was nearly empty. I have stayed at decidedly more comfortable places that did charge only $45, even less.
Fourth, the hotel seems to cater to a low-grade clientele. It charges a $100 deposit to the guest's credit card and refunds this—supposedly—only if the room is left free of damage or theft. Even the ice machine requires insertion of the key to the room. Is criminality so great a problem that the hotel has to resort to these extreme measures? Perhaps it should instead market itself to guests of a higher calibre.
My view: if you want a decent but minimal place to stay and can get it for $45 per night, you may wish to stay here.
- Barry (8/5): - Like other reviews, yes, its dated. However, my wife & I were impressed with the cleanliness and how well it was maintained. Would be happy to stay here again.
- Joe (10/5): Great stay for the money - Have stayed here a few times, great budget pricing, it’s an older establishment, but it’s always clean, and guy at front desk is always friendly & helpful.
- Lori (6/5): - We did not like that we could not watch TV as it was fuzzy and did not have a lot of options to watch. We liked the free wi-fi it offered.
- Delldroid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Herman (6/5): Pleasant - They really need to upgrade their televisions.
- Kim (8/5): Very good - Rey comfortable bed and very quiet Pool was closed
- David (10/5): - Our room was clean and it was quiet also easy to get into town.
