• Koen (10/5): Niet twijfelen, gewoon boeken en gaan! - Knusse en gezellige loft met 2 slaapkamers. Ideaal voor onze trip. Midden in het hart van Gent in een eeuwenoud pand. Christian & Kay zijn ontzettend gastvrij en runnen deze b&b met veel liefde Had ook z’n charme maar op bepaalde plekken wat laag dus daar moet je proberen niet je hoofd te stoten

• Jessica (10/5): - Perfecte locatie! Alles op loopafstand, midden in het levendige gedeelte van de stad met een prachtig uitzicht. Onwijs vriendelijk ontvangst door de eigenaren van de B&B, de suite was gezellig en sfeervol ingericht, schoon en aan alles was gedacht! Heerlijke bedden en heel fijn met mooi weer een klein balkonnetje om even in de ochtend wakker te worden met een kop koffie. Echte aanrader hier te verblijven!

• dimitri (10/5): Une suite chargée d'histoire pour le plus beau "OUI" de ma vie, orchestré par des hôtes en or. - Il y a des lieux où l'on passe, et d'autres qui nous marquent. Idéalement située, la suite de Kay et Christian est un écrin bourré d'histoire. Il faut prendre le temps d'écouter Kay raconter le passé de cette demeure, elle le fait avec une passion communicative. C'était le décor rêvé pour ma demande en mariage, d'autant que Kay a été d'une aide inestimable pour tout préparer, s'investissant comme si c'était pour sa propre famille. C'est le reflet parfait de ce couple : une philosophie tournée vers l'autre, d'une humanité qui fait un bien fou. Merci à vous deux d'avoir été les gardiens de ce souvenir précieux. Tout était parfait, de la grande Histoire des murs à la petite histoire que nous venions d'écrire. Attention : après un séjour ici, les hôtels classiques vous paraîtront bien fades ! Le seul défaut de ce séjour ? Le moment où il a fallu rendre les clés et rentrer chez nous. Le retour à la réalité est un peu rude...
• Raoul (10/5): - We zijn ontzettend vriendelijk ontvangen en kregen leuke tips voor ons weekend in Gent. De ligging van de suite was ideaal. Vrijwel alles was op loopafstand. Daarnaast hebben we gebruik kunnen maken van de parkeergelegenheid. Het uitzicht vanuit de kamer is prachtig. We zouden deze suite zo nog een keer boeken!

• Drain (10/5): - This is a superb place to stay! Our suite had a living area looking onto the square and castle. The bedroom looked out to a terrace with views of some of the spires. It was spotlessly clean and impeccably finished with such good taste. A real treat for us on our wedding anniversary. The hosts were so welcoming and gave us recommendations for breakfast and a romantic anniversary meal. All 5 star.!!!!! Nothing
• Danielle (9/5): Top verblijft gehad - Accommodatie van alle gemakken voorzien. Heerlijke bedden. Mooi uitzicht op Kasteel Gravensteen. Centraal gelegen dus alles te voet kunnen doen. Auto geparkeerd bij P&R Gentbrugge Arsenaal, daarna tram T2 en je staat recht voor de deur van de accommodatie.

De locatie de ruimte, het uitzicht, de zorgvuldigheid waarmee de suite was ingericht, de snoepjes op tafel en in de slaapkamer, de warme en informatieve manier waarop we werden ontvangen. Christian en Kay deden alles eraan om ons thuis te laten voelen en ons een onvergetelijk verblijf te bezorgen. Helemaal niets.
• Marlyne (9/5): Heerlijk geslapen in schitterend historisch pand van zeer lieve eigenaren. - Wat een prachtige historische locatie met een geweldig uitzicht aan beide kanten. Voor het Gravensteen en vanaf het achterterras de torens van Gent! We genoten van het mooie pand en ook van de zeer lieve eigenaren die ons hartelijk ontvingen en heel toegankelijk waren. Aan alles was gedacht wat de inrichting van onze suite betreft, zoals thee, wijnglazen en verschillende soorten hoofdkussens. Heel fijn ook op zo'n centrale locatie dat parkeergelegenheid beschikbaar was. Voor ons was niet vooraf duidelijk dat er geen ontbijt beschikbaar was bij deze B&B, dat bleek pas nadat we geboekt hadden. Dit ondanks foto's van het ontbijt en enthousiaste recensies waarin het ontbijt genoemd werd. Gelukkig werd wel een fijne lijst met ontbijt-adresjes geadviseerd, waardoor we toch lekker ontbeten hebben, maar dus wel buiten de deur.
• Fiona (10/5): Beautiful suite in an amazing location right by the castle - Beautiful suite of rooms. You have a lovely bedroom with a spacious living area and the apartment we had also had a sun terrace. The room have coffee and tea facilities as well as a fridge. The bed was super comfortable. The shower fantastic. The location is right in the middle of the old town by the castle so lots of bars and restaurants nearby. If the window are open you hear the noise of the bars but the bedroom is at the back and is surprisingly quiet. The hosts could not be more helpful. I would definitely stay there again. The wifi was a bit slow but otherwise everything was amazing

• Patrick (10/5): A fantastic place to stay in a beautiful city with a lot to discover - De Waterzooi is simply a wonderful B&B. Excellent location with a view on the castle with easy access to anything in the centre of the city. Personal welcome by the owners with a guided tour of the amenities by the lady of the house. Every detail is being taken care of and this with a lot of taste to please your general wellbeing. In the morning you will be be able to enjoy a superb breakfast with fresh and homemade products. We simply loved it and this includes the wonderful hosts of the Waterzooi. Every detail was taken care of, so there was nothing to not like.

• Velimir (10/5): A little slice of magic in Ghent - Christian and Kay have made a little slice of magic in Ghent with their B&B. From the "reception" in the common room of their apartment in the building, their warmth and welcoming words, the sedate elevator that took us to the 3rd floor, the smell of old wood, fresh river air and books, it immediately relaxed us after a long drive from the Hague. The 3rd floor apartment we took was something else as well - the view at the castle in front, the balcony that looks over the river and the church steeples in the back, chairs, sofas and beds you can immediately fall asleep in, all impecably clean... Kay told us that it is rare we can get a single night available on such short notice, but I am glad we did. Would recommend it to everyone, no matter how many times you visited Ghent!

• Maxine (10/5): Beautiful apartment in an amazing location - Amazing location, beautiful interior and extremely well equipped. Everything was thought of, from toiletries to a sewing kit (which I had need of!). Bathroom was to die for, huge bath and rain shower. The hosts were really welcoming and informative. The view from the lounge was unbelievable - looks like a film set. Ghent was a complete surprise - so beautiful and loads to explore - traffic-free but watch out for the bikes! It was all excellent so if I had just one tiny gripe - the cups were very small (coming from Yorkshire we like big cups of tea!).

Kay and Christian are extremely welcoming, make sure to indulge in breakfast as it is perfection. The bed was so comfortable and we were so comfortable relaxing in the lounge room. • Paul (10/5): A Bed & Breakfast experience of a lifetime! - There isn't a better location or property in all of Ghent. As first-time visitors, it was perfectly located to the Tram, Boats, the Castle, more restaurants than you can imagine and an easy 5+ minute walk to just about everything else. Breakfast which is served by Kay could be its own attraction. Food was fresh, beautifully prepared and became a memorable highlight of our entire trip. The rooms and entire ambiance was impeccable. Every design and detail had Kay's touch on it. Normally where we stay on vacation if often forgotten but in the case of our stay with Christian & Kay it was an unexpected experience which will now be a lifelong memory!! Absolutely nothing...perfect 10 experience.

• Hannah (10/5): Breathtaking castle views and exceptional accommodations! - De Waterzooi was such a lovely place to stay! We stayed in the 1st floor suite and it far exceeded our expectations. The view you won't believe it until you see it! The castle looked fake almost through the large windows. Location was perfect. The room was beyond spacious with a huge living area with very comfortable sectional couch and amazing views of the castle. The bedroom was cozy and the bed was memory foam with controls for each side to adjust height. The rain shower was great. We also had a private terrace with lounge chairs that was lovely to sit on and enjoy a glass of wine and Belgian beers! Above all the owners were so kind and accommodating. The breakfast is worth the extra charge. It was by far the best breakfast we received all trip. We even received a parting gift which was a lovely touch. Would absolutely stay here again if I'm lucky enough to return to Ghent. I can't think of anything - it was that wonderful!

• Joe (10/5): Beautiful Blend of Modern and Medieval - Phenomenal! The staff were exceptional, giving great advice about the area and providing delicious breakfast. The B&B is in a fantastic location, with views of Gravensteen and easy walking or tram access to much of the city. The bed was very comfortable, and the lounge boasted a lovely sofa, good-sized TV, and warm lighting. Due to the weather, we didn't make much use of the balcony sun-loungers, but we'd love to try them in the future. The medieval stonework blended wonderfully into modern features, and our apartment felt beautifully romantic. Would highly recommend and hope to return one day! Nothing, it was magical

• Kaisha (10/5): Perfect - This is one of our most favorite accommodations we have stayed at. It's luxurious, well-located, comfortable, etc.! Having the bonus sitting room was a huge plus, and the views of the castle across the street were great. The noise (not bad considering really) is even less due to the door separating the bedroom from the sitting room - literally could not ask for better. The decor is so beautiful and just brings the feeling of relaxation into mind! The tub is amazing and providing bath bubbles was a step beyond incredible. Some of the nicest hosts too, who go well above and beyond. I cannot stress enough how much extra they put into their hosting. We have already told multiple friends of this place and some that are even considering staying when they take a trip to Ghent.

• Pettersson (10/5): The best stay in all of Ghent! - The loveliest guesthouse we've ever stayed in! Kay & Christian are very welcoming and have designed a gorgeous house with the guest's best comfort in mind. The house itself is very unique and from your room (or rather suite) you have a gorgeous view onto the Gravensteen castle and square. The breakfast was super lovely, so I do recommend you having it! I hope we get an opportunity to come back, because this stay was the absolute best! There is actually nothing to say - everything was perfect!
