- Gall (10/5): An exceptional stay — peaceful, beautifully maintained, with incredible food and one of the best onsen experiences we’ve - Honestly, this place is off the charts — if I could rate it 6 or 7 out of 5, I would. Everything is just amazing. The vibe is incredibly peaceful, the surroundings are beautiful and perfectly maintained, and the whole property feels intimate and charming without trying too hard. The onsen experience is outstanding, especially the private onsen — truly relaxing and unique. The staff overall were great, and the atmosphere makes you instantly unwind. The restaurant is exceptional, and the breakfast… wow. Easily one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had — refined, generous, and absolutely delicious. My wife and I loved every minute of our stay, and honestly, we wished we had booked one more night. We will definitely come back, and I would strongly recommend anyone traveling in the Chiang Mai area to stay here — it’s far more worth it than staying anywhere else in the city. Nothing, really. If I had to mention something, the front desk staff could be just slightly more smiley — but that’s being extremely picky. Overall, there are genuinely no negative points.

- Nadine (9/5): Little Japan in north of thailand - Anyone who has ever visited an onsen in Japan knows how incredibly relaxing it is. This hotel is designed in the style of traditional Japanese ryokan. The rooms are huge, spotless, and beautifully maintained. Guests who do not have a private onsen bath in their room can enjoy the shared baths. For women, there are two large and one small hot pools, as well as a small cold pool. The garden is lovingly designed and adds to the peaceful atmosphere. The staff are incredibly helpful and very friendly.

- Alison (10/5): - We went up to the Onsen for a cheeky midweek break, I don't really know what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. It's as if someone brought Japan to Chinag Mai. They have furnished it really well, and while some of the ornaments are a little bit strange, it really is a lovely place. The staff were very friendly and it's big enough but also small enough such that you don't feel like there is anyone there.

The cookie cutter style of running things daily. The staff was good but compared to average standards staff not typical of Thai staff. The menu needs a little uplift for such a high end place.

- Lorena (10/5): Perfect place for a special getaway - Everything was just perfect to relax and spend a very special time. - Rooms were extremely comfortable, with amazing bedding and a nice system of lights to fit any mood - Beautiful views of the garden and forest, even during the rainy season this was so pleasant, very misty - Luxurious bathroom with private Onsen - Very quiet at night - Attentive staff, very polite, many small attentions - Great food at the restaurant, only ate there for 2 days! Breakfast had plenty of options. Great cocktails. - Free access to the public Onsen. Every time we went we were on our own. So peaceful. Honestly I can't think of anything I didn't like

Anyways it is not that bad. I just felt like a little bit of my mistakes to ask him to help. P.S. it's not his fault, please don't worry.
- WILL (10/5): - Beautiful, serene property with wonderful food, kind and attentive staff, and lovely hot springs-fed pools. Ducks, rabbits and terraced farms add to the peaceful mountain ambiance. I have rarely felt so relaxed.

- Inderpreet (10/5): Exceptional - It was a lovely beautiful hotel and had a lovely and very comfortable stay at the Onsen at Moncham during our visit to Chiang Mai. It was very spacious rooms and most rooms have a private Onsen in them. The restaurant is fantastic and the food is delicious. The staff of the hotel goes beyond service to make the stay comfortable. I stayed with my elderly parents and 10 year old kid, and all enjoyed the place so much. Great hotel and a lovely and peaceful location to spend a couple of nights. Nothing, All was very good.

- Hsy83 (9/5): Relaxing stay - Nice and relaxing stay. Very similar to actual Onsen experience in Japan. The Japanese tatami room was comfy and even better if you have the room with private onsen. Staffs were well trained and very kind. Big big big thanks to the restaurant supervisor Da who was super attentive. Made us all feel very warm and welcomed water in the public onsen was too cold
- Josh (10/5): A calming nature filled luxury experience. - This is a beautiful setting and magically relaxing experience. The rooms are all well presented and comfortable. Surprisingly large and well appointed. The grounds are well kept serene and beautifully natural. There are so many fish, bunny rabbits and other beautiful birds it is lovely to wonder and sit in peace. The food is also extremely good.

- Romain (5/5): Beautiful Setting, Disappointing Service – Not Worth the Price - The hotel is beautiful, with well-maintained facilities, excellent food, and stunning scenery. However, the service falls well short of five-star standards. One major drawback is the hotel's remote location in the mountains. While this offers a peaceful setting, the staff is surprisingly unhelpful when it comes to arranging nearby activities that could enhance the guest experience—even at an additional cost. For example, a beautiful botanical garden is just a 15-minute drive away, yet without a car, getting there is cumbersome, and the hotel provides no assistance. Likewise, despite being surrounded by hiking trails, the staff made no effort to help us organize an excursion. In the end, we had to contact our previous (and much more affordable) hotel in Chiang Mai, which kindly arranged everything for us. Another disappointing experience was with the spa services. We wanted a massage over the weekend, but on Sunday, only one therapist was available, finishing work at 5 PM. Given the demand, one would expect a five-star hotel in Thailand to make arrangements for additional therapists—but they simply didn’t bother. Overall, while the setting and amenities are lovely, the lack of service and flexibility significantly detracts from the experience and fails to justify the high price tag.
- Costa (9/5): Wonderful spa in a beautiful setting - Such a beautiful setting in the mountains and the staff made us feel so welcome. The Onsen was wonderful and probably the best massage we’ve ever had. Shower was a little temperamental, but that’s such a minor thing.

I personally want to thank to Khun Nam Otel manager, Khun Lin front office and restaurant manager and chef who made our stay very comfortable. We stayed in family suit, it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and simple and easy. They have everything you ask for, beautiful nature you wake up and enjoy your coffee and tea at veranda. We had 2 dinner here and both were excellent and tasty Kids love it * rooms shower, doors, shower heads needs to upgrade it, should be a bit more privacy, water drainage in shower pretty slow or clogged. * people come here for Onsen, where they can enjoy the hot water. Most of families won’t go separately naked onsen with their kids. Public ( join one ) where you can go with your kids and dressed. When we arrived we were told that public one rented out privately to outsider which made us upset. The staff was friendly and helpful and we did not make a such a big deal and got the private one and paid for it. If people pay for rooms and they should be the priorities not the daily pass people and public Onsen should be available during the working hours for everyone, if people don’t want to use public they should go with paid private one. 100% I will be back and recommend everyone this Otel

- Viclar (10/5): What a gem! It was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday 🎂 - This place exceeded all my expectations. It's a gorgeous hotel in the mountains, perfect for those who want to disconnect. The onsen in the balcony of the room was great, the food at the restaurant was of very good quality and for a reasonable price. The onsen was great. The walls are a bit thin so one could hear the guest next door talking or coughing. The staff working at the restaurant were very junior but they are trying their best to deliver an excellent service.

The surroundings are beautiful foothills and forest and the hotel area is really stunning with ducks, rabbits and nature. The room was better than I expected, like being in Japan. The Onsen facilities are equal to some of the best I have been to in Japan. Food was good, staff nice and I would happily stay again. NA

- Jannatul (10/5): - Check-in was a breeze. The room looks better than the photos. It’s really spacious the view from the balcony. It was very very very beautiful. I love that. There was two on in my room one indoor one out door. There is also a public garden on breakfast was amazing. I think the cleanliness could be improved just a little bit. There were some hairs and a bobby pin on the bed I believe from the previous guest. But other than that, everything was good.
