Guest Reviews
- Christian (10/5): - The hostess was very friendly and attentive. Great breakfast and a quiet environment. It takes about half an hour to get to the beach, but that didn't particularly bother me.
- Radoslava (10/5): - Lovely house and lovely people, great service :)
- Reg (10/5): - I have given this property 5 stars all round, maybe others would not mark amenities at 5 but I feel hostess Deidre does absolutely everything to make you welcome. I forgot to say we had a Coeliac amongst the four of us arriving at 22.15 so at 22.20 Deidre went shopping for gluten free sausages. She made the lounge and the dining room seem like home to all of us. My family decided at the last minute they were coming with us which meant a late booking for a Portrush guest house for my wife and stepdaughter. My wife visited on one of the 5 nights the family was there and was made most welcome. She could not believe Deidre's generosity after talking about her recently departed mother and wanting to get a Mary statute for her grave, Deidre gave one to my wife. If you think that MOTHER Theresa's don't exist in Britain visit this guest house please.
- Michael (10/5): - Really well looked after - Deirdre was so nice. Accomodation was exactly what you need - well located and great breakfast. Great location for golf and for visiting all the coastal attractions.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean & tidy accommodation, staff very helpful & friendly, very enjoyable stay
- Reg (10/5): - Deidre the host could not have done more. Felt like being in your own home with lounge access to BT Sport and Sky, pots of tea made for me and 3 excellent breakfast's. Ballycastle was a joy to be at and i enjoyed my first experience of watching Hurling with 2 very competitive County finals watched by about 7,000 people.
Illalla Talossa haukkui koira monta tuntia.
- vincent (10/5): friendly - my stay was good nice food friendly landlady made so welcome
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good base for our North Coast trips - I stayed at the Tara with my eight-year-old daughter after a day out at Rathlin Island. It was clean and comfortable. The landlady gave us a warm and friendly greeting, an excellent breakfast the next morning, and a lift to the bus stop for our trip to Portrush the next morning. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good base to explore the beautiful North Antrim coast.
- Mark (10/5): Tara’s a gem - A lovely B n B with great hosts. Highly recommended.
- Abbi (10/5): A b&b we’ll use year after year - Staying here was just like going to visit family, it was so relaxed from the moment we got there! And Deirdre was so kind and inviting! My husband and I plan to visit Ireland every year for an event and we’ve found a b&b that we will use on all of our visits to northern Ireland !
Both myself and my husband can’t wait to go back !!
- Lee (10/5): Great B&B close to town. - Fantastic Irish breakfast.
Very welcoming host.
Overall great experience.
- Greg (10/5): - An excellent place to stay with very friendly and welcoming owners.
- Robert (10/5): A "Home from Home". - Excellent hostess; friendly and helpful.
I was upgraded from a single to an ensuite family room!
Beds comfortable. Room spotless and a large screen TV. Free wifi and onsite parking.
Near to the town centre (a short drive) and to the harbour and the Rathlin Ferry.
Also close to restaurants, supermarkets and bars.
Breakfast was great (an Ulster Fry) - with cereals, juices and yoghurt available also.
Highly recommended.
Positioned opposite a local church - makes it easy to find.
- Kristin M (10/5): Clean, comfy and just right - I looooved staying here. The whole place was spotless and the bed was just a twin but extremely comfortable (I want the pillows I slept on because they were incredibly comfy). The host was really nice and got up extra early to make breakfast for me. The pics don't do the place justice - it's nicer. I would definitely stay here again.
- Joan (10/5): Good location and great hosts - Ballycastle is a lovely seaside resort with a lot of history. Tara House is situated within walking distance of town centre ( about 10 minutes) and a numbers of very good cafes and pubs, which serve reasonably priced pub grub. There's also good walks in nearby forest. Tara House is just off a main road so you can very quickly get to other great sightseeing towns etc. The guest house is modern and offers excellent facilities together with great hosts made this a very good holiday experience.
