Guest Reviews
- Celia (9/5): A place worth to go - Stunning view
Cosy place
We ate few times and the food was delicious
Great staff, especially Elisabeta who was of a great help and gave us a ride as there is no taxi in santa Catalina
- Winfried (10/5): -
- Kathy (10/5): Excepcional.

Desayuno no incluido.
Nabijgelegen hotel was veel fijner.
- Philip (1/5): Place is a dump - The room was beautiful ,but there is mold growing everywhere .The showers where super dirty with mold and dirt all thru out the shower .Mold is through out the room and I defiantly would not recommend staying at this hotel.
When bringing this up to the manager Isamel he just shrugged is shoulders. There wasn't anything that I would report as a positive post about this place .Food wasn't cooked properly and the room was a mess / There is a large dog on site which brakes most of the night .
- Bianca (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anne (8/5): Nice hotel & very friendly staff - Amazing location and the view across the sea is incredible. Elizabeth and Israel were extremely friendly and helpful and will help you with all your questions. Breakfast not a lot of choice but freshly made with fresh fruits and coffee every morning. The pool area is nice and there’s plenty of room to relax! It’s not 100% like the pictures (anymore). Also, some aspects could use a touch up. E.g. the bathroom does not have a curtain, the shower does not always have hot water. The rooms view the parking lot, but still a lot of private space for yourself including the hammock and lazy chairs.
- Hyo (9/5): I wish I stayed longer here. - The host, Israel was wonderful and extremely helpful. The room was clean and cozy, The refrigerator works very well. The location is also good for going to the beach, restaurants and mini markets. The view from the dining area is spectacle. Plus, they have a great breakfast. The wifi service could improve a bit better.
- Émilie (9/5): Little paradise - The view, the location and the personnel. The last minute changes but hopefully a solution was found and ended up being better
- Alberto (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaime (10/5): Excellent - The costumer services and facilities Nothing to complain
- Todd (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (9/5): Superb - The location and view were exceptional for our trip There is work going on but it will be perfect once it’s all completed
- Jo (8/5): Very good -
- Lea (9/5): Great place! - Great host, very nice food, lovely environment! Highly recommended Be aware, it‘s about a 10 min walk from the village centre by foot. Not a disadvantage, just good to know.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - Beautiful view, clean and well equipped room, very helpful staff, tasty breakfast and meals Small portions for breakfast, the pool was a bit dirty, rooms couldn’t be darkened entirely
- Arno (8/5): Basic but nice appartment, swimming pool and restaurant with a perfect view - Thanks Elisabeth for your perfect hosting. Highly Appreciated !!
- Sarah (10/5): Wonderful - Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, eggs or pancakes. The best pancakes and eggs cooked perfectly. Notice posted “no dinner served on Sunday.”
- Yolande (9/5): Superb -
- Igabille (10/5): Amazing getaway - Amazing staff great location and great food
- Beata (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (5/5): It wasn't worth the money. View was great. - The view. Everything is aging, black mold in the rooms.
- Beata (9/5): Superb - View and location were excellent
- Eric (9/5): Superb -
- Danger-k (9/5): Great stay in Santa Catalina - Absolutely great stay here. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fine, the pool is nice to cool down a bit. A/C works, beds are comfortable. Not much more that you can ask for. Plus, you get amazing sunsets that you can watch just a minute max from your bed. Absolutely recommend.
- Jose (9/5): Superb - The view in front of the beach is beautiful.
Big rooms, clean facilities.
Israel is a very kind and helpful host.
- Beth (10/5): Absolutely a special place. We were so sorry to leave - There are so many great things about this place, but the top thing is the people. Israel and Elisabeth are so welcoming and warm and the whole atmosphere is about making you feel like you are connected with others and are at home. We stayed for 4 days first and went back the next week for 3 days as it was so wonderful to be there. On top of that, the view is amazing and definitely the best in the whole area. We looked at many other hotels and nowhere was better, starting with breakfast on the terrace and ending with a beautiful sunset for dinner. If you can’t eat there, then try Chano next door. Maybe one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere.
The rooms are comfortable and clean and everything works fine. In addition, they can organize trips to Coiba for snorkeling and walking. Nothing!
- Nicole (9/5): Superb -
- Sheila (10/5): Beautiful place with very lovely, helpful staff - It was clean
Well looked after
The staff were very kind and helpful
The sunsets
The shady hammock area
The Pool
The food
The view Nothing
- Simone (7/5): Great location with a wonderful view. - Great location with a fantastic view. Elizabeth at the front desk is wonderful and really makes the place. Pool is small, but nice. Wonderfully quiet. The pictures may have been taken when it first got built. It needs a little TLC. We stayed in the junior suite and when they say second bedroom, they mean a bed in the living room. Also, the private bathroom has the shower in the main bedroom, which is a little weird.
- Paola (9/5): Simply amazing, the view and the breakfast was amazing! - The view from the pool was amazing, and the staff was super friendly. Our air conditioner worked but it was not cooling enough for the room but other than that it was a great experience.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, quiet and well kept property. Staff are super friendly and it's easy 10 minute walk into town.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Israel was amazing, made our stay very welcoming and just great view with peaceful surroundings. N/A
- Marita (10/5): Exceptional - I like everything about the hotel and the owner is very sweet.
- Liesbeth (9/5): Paradise with stunning views - Without a doubt (one of) the best locations you will find in Catalina. The views from the garden + deck are unmatched. Very kind and warm staff, excellent breakfast and dinner. We had a great day trip to Coiba arranged via the hotel. Also, many restaurants within a short walking distance! Nice pool. But the biggest magic is the view, truly stunning and nothing short of paradise. Very happy to have stayed here. The facilities are a bit rundown, i feel the pictures are from better times, maybe pre-covid. Rooms are spacious but just a bit scruffy. Which is fine, the garden makes up for that, but (at this moment) it’s not the luxurious feel the pictures portray it to have, or reflecting the price you pay. Nevertheless, still worth it since the views are the best.
- Maria (8/5): Best spot for sunsets - The hotel sits on a little hill, nestled by trees. It is extremely peaceful here. The staff are friendly and were very kind to our child. They accept dogs as well. The suite was airy, light and with nice wooden furniture. A good plus is that it had a full kitchen!
- Roland (9/5): Superb -
- Holly (10/5): Really good place to relax and unwind for a few days. - Great views, good relaxing options - hammocks, bean bags, loungers. Lovely helpful staff and Elizabeth on reception is a diamond.
Nice breakfast. Nothing
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Cornelia (8/5): Nice, small hotel but nothing extraordinary - Very friendly lady at the reception. Good location at the sea. However, the beach is not accessible from the hotel as the coast is very steep.
The drinks at the hotel are fairly priced. We didn't try the restaurant, though. The "center" of Santa Catalina with the diving schools is a 7-10 min walk away (which is no problem but just an extra info).
It is a small hotel - not new but ok and clean.
The pool is on the smaller side.
For breakfast there are 3 options and the portions is not that big. You have to pay extra for fresh fruit juices.
In our room there were kitchen cupboards, a fridge and kitchen furniture but there was no sink, stove or kitchen equipment. Not sure why this half-finished kitchen was there.
- Stephanie (10/5): Extremely nice place to stay, go there! - The view was amazing, staff was super friendly.
Great food, all fresh made!! Very clean rooms with AC. We stayed for 5 nights and it felt like home. Nothing
- Ana (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): Comfortable room and pleasant staff and location - A nice room for the price. The manager Lisa, and the other ladies that worked there were very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. Decent swimming pool and outside area. This has nothing to do with the hotel, but the last 20 kilometers of the road into Santa Catalina are very rough. There is some ongoing work on the road, so maybe it will be improved at some point.
- Giuseppe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fenna (8/5): Very good -
- Nicolas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deirdre (10/5): Exceptional - The location is so peaceful and beautiful, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
- Suzanne (7/5): Comfy apartment with sea view - Very comfortable and clean Remote town with a bad road so hard to get any real provisions.the supermarkets are very small with limited stock
And cash machine often didn’t work
Which was hard when everyone uses cash unless charged 7% extra
- Giovanni (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (10/5): Amazing Views and Wonderful Staff! - Vista Coiba has one of the most amazing views in Santa Catalina! The staff couldn’t have been nicer! They were always incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I highly recommend staying here when in Santa Catalina!
- Panamicag (10/5): Santa Catalina for work and Vista Coiba was a very comfortable. - I stayed at this property 5 or 6 years ago for three nights during a site inspection and was not impressed. This time when I booked an apartment online I did not recognize the hotel. I booked a hotel I previously did not like! The property has changed for the better recently with renovations. NOTE! I stayed in a different unit than previously. The staff were extremely friendly. There is little to say. Not an issue for me because we were only two people but for almost EVERY hotel I stay in there are NEVER enough hooks or towel bars to dry things. 4 People expected to use one bathroom and nowhere to hang towels or wet clothes. As the owner of a tour company here in Panama, these are things that are so simple and inexpensive to resolve it baffles my mind...
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michele (7/5): Great location and clean room for a short stay. Would consider it again for a short stay. - The view was spectacular The road was horrible and there wasn’t much parking. The breakfast offerings were mediocre
- Rowan (7/5): Lovely place, we enjoyed our time very much. - The property was well situated halfway between Santa Catalina village and the surfers beach El Estero. The beds were comfy and the staff friendly. The view at high tide was beautiful. It is right next to a great seafood place, Congo’s Point. Highly recommend the seafood pasta! The view at low tide is a bit rocky but that is to be expected. The shower was quite low so my 186cm tall boyfriend had a bit of trouble getting under it but we made it work. There is no sink in the little “kitchen” part of the room so any dishes we had to wash had to be done in the small sink in the bathroom.
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, we would stay there again, friendly staff, great views, nice pool and rooms I can’t think of anything
- James (10/5): Great place to stay and surf, close to everything and everyone was so nice - Great location and view - close to the surf as well
- Lu (1/5): Very old, uncleaned room. - The view. This is my first time leaving a bad review but I think I need to share our experiences because the rating is very deceiving
Just about everything is bad. We stayed one night at the 2nd floor suite. The fridge hasn't been properly cleaned and stinks. Our food/drinks smells like the fridge after we removed them from the fridge.
There is one bathroom in the bedroom but the shower with glass door is installed in the bedroom. When someone is taking a shower the rest of us need to go to the small living room.
Overall the suite is outdated and not well cleaned.
The rating is very deceiving.
- Robles (10/5): Amazing. - Hi, Elizabeth customer service is the best. Everything was wonderful beside the tropical storm we got.
- Lukasz (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful view with a swimming pool. Lisa - the manager was very helpful and nice. Thank you.
- Lauren (9/5): Will definitely be back, loved our stay! - Super friendly staff, and best location in Santa Catalina. Amazing water views with a walkable beach! Only thing that I would have improved was the bedding. The sheets were old and the pillows in the main room were horrible. Gave me a stiff next because they were so large and lumpy. Other than that everything was perfect!
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Excellent views Shame you cannot swim there
- Penn (9/5): Wonderful views and place to stay near a great surf break - Nice view and location near a great surf break. We rented the 1st floor apartment and it met our needs for space and spreading out. Rented an additional single room for our 2 boys to sleep, but we were all able to hang out in the apartment. The pool was nice and kept clean. Food at the restaurant was good. The kitchen in the apartment could have been better stocked with staples like paper products and cooking oil, as we wanted to have some of our own meals in the room.
- Wendy (9/5): Very nice place with a great view on the ocean and other island. - The place was very nice. No direct access to the beach, but the views were wonderful.
The pool was great. And the breakfast was great as well.
- Gert (9/5): Incredible nice location, kind & helpful staff, good and cozy rooms. - Very beautiful location, friendly, pro-active & helpful staff, nice room. Rather small bathroom.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Akos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keti (9/5): Superb -
- Lindenauer (10/5): Highly recommend staying here - it’s so peaceful with only the sound of the waves and wildlife nearby. Can’t wait to com - Amazing views, great food & drinks, clean rooms and a killer pool! Direct access to the water and lots of wildlife around. Very quiet and peaceful as well! The staff was very friendly and helped us with anything we needed.
- Cynthia (5/5): Not as nice as the write up and pictures; this place needs serious maintenance. - The location is beautiful. Great views of the ocean from the restaurant and 2 of the rooms. The property has not been maintained. We had a studio with partial kitchen- small sink, small fridge and coffee maker. The coffee maker was old and dirty and I could not use it. There was one plate and one set of silverware. There were 2 old plastic cups. No table to sit and eat. Furniture old and worn. The bed was hard as a board and very uncomfortable. No curtains on the bathroom window. The bedroom window coverings didn’t fully cover the slider so no bedroom privacy. Everything looked old and sad. The pool appeared cloudy. The owner and staff were friendly. The air conditioner unit worked.
- Jenny (10/5): I would definitely come back! - The fabulous view. The very friendly welcome and the fact that all the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. No coffee in the room although there was a coffee maker.
- Antonello (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcela (9/5): Superb - The view was incredible! We stayed for one week, the staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are quite and spacious. Sunset is stunning
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful location combined with friendly owners and wonderful dinners cooked by Marie
- Helen (9/5): Beautiful place - Great views over to Coiba and lovely pool. Staff were always on hand and very helpful. They arranged a surfing lesson while we were there. On one evening there was no evening meal available which would have been useful to know in the morning.
Many people who stay here have a car and they sometimes park outside your room.
- Diego (10/5): 100% recommended - Excellent service, food, amenities, pool, everything!
Superb
- Jurgen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jurgen (10/5): Exceptional - The host was so friendly, she helped us out with everything we needed and was really nice to talk to.
The rooms were clean and the beds are good. No sand beach
- Theresa (8/5): Low key - casual - relaxed! Pretty good! - Beautiful location with nice rooms. Very friendly staff.
- Nelly (9/5): Superb - A privileged location with a magical view
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - We absolutly loved everything!
The host was incredible kind!
Amazing view! 10/10 clean, great pool. Close to everything.
The restaurant also has delicious food!
Saludos,
Kelly de la suite We loved it
- Mario (10/5): Perfect stay - you wont regret your booking there - Good location, everthing important is within walking distance. The rooms are very well equipped and clean (and will be cleaned during your stay as well).
Waterbottels can be refilled for 1 dollar. Breakfast is very good and includes as much coffee as you want.
The sunset there is amazing!!!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially Israel helped me a lot. My phone was broken so he let me use his computer and phone to contact my friends. He can help you to organize tours. Additionally he brought me to the boat which picked me up on my last day when he saw my large backpack. Nothing to complain!
- Andreas (9/5): Superb -
- Petr (9/5): Superb -
- Aline (10/5): Very good price for what you get and beautiful view - Big bed and nice kitchen and bathroom, Beautiful Pool and view, try the pizzeria and gelato place next to it Houses are build with view to a parking space
