Guest Reviews
- April (1/5): - Nothing Hotel was in a unsafe area
- Travis (7/5): A nice, clean, affordable family owned place to stay in Riverton, WY - I didn't have the continental breakfast, as we caught breakfast elsewhere in town. I would've preferred a room that was further of the highway, as the traffic through there made it a bit difficult to sleep optimally. The other time I stayed at the Paintbrush Motel my room was much further off the road, so this wasn't an issue.
- tish (2/5): Not worth it - When we first arrived they supposedly had just finished cleaning the room, we walked in and it smelled horrible. It was like a musky stale air smell. So we went to the store left the window open and got air freshener no big deal. When we come back to actually stay there it is older which is fine, the bathtub is big, but the shower mat is old and cracked. There was also maybe an eighth of a roll of toilet paper, no Kleenex no coffee cup one plastic cup, and a bag of coffee. We were only staying there because we had our plumbing at our house being worked on. We live locally. The worst part was the heat. It was warmer outside than it was in the room it was 57 inside the room. Called the front desk nobody answered, went to the front desk, the owner showed up basically in his pajamas, was pulling up his pants and hair disheveled, and walks us back to the room. Apparently the thermostat on the wall does nothing except for till the temperature they have looks like an air conditioner was supposedly it all in one unit in the wall with buttons broken off and missing you push some buttons said he had to leave it to press a main button and then left. From then on it was nothing but blowing cold air. I tried calling him again about 20 minutes later, and nobody answered, and there was an answering machine so I left a message. He never got back to me. We had to unplug the wall unit to get it to stop blowing cold air. We live less than a mile away so we just ran home grabbed a space heater and an electric blanket, tried to use their 7Up vending machine and it ate our quarters so we had to use our card. We checked out about 9:30 a.m. because check out is 10. I've stayed here before, it's been years but I've never had a problem before. Truly disappointing
- Parks (1/5): - Nothing The cockroaches
- Mercedes (9/5): - The receptionist was really nice and happy. The room was clean and modern. The parking lot is very small, the outside of the property looks a little run down. But the inside look great!
- John (9/5): -
- C (2/5): Do Not Stay Here-Peeping Tom - My father's favorite place to stay when he would visit me about 30 years ago. Odd owner/front desk. Older gentleman that seemed very confused about which room(s) he may already have rented and went to peek in various rooms while I stood in the parking lot. Then after I checked in he tried to check someone else Into my room and actually opened the locked door while I was in bed and peered in at me for a good 5 seconds while a woman behind him exclaimed, "He gave me the wrong key!" I then slammed and locked the door on him and blocked the door with chairs in the room!! Additionally, bed bugs (I have pictures) and gross liquid stains on upholstered furniture. I want my money back. .
- Julie (3/5): I understand older facilities and have no problem. Newer sheets snf and towels can make a world of difference - Location was good. Price was decent Very old. The towels and pillow cases had stains on them
- Don (3/5): - Toilet barely flushed, poor lighting in room.
- Felter (7/5): -
- Angela (7/5): - The owner was at the desk It was late when we checked in he was still pleasent the beds are realy comfortable and in room coffee is awsome I wish the rooms were a little more updated and alittle more clean although they were clean for the most part I feel it could have been better and could have used extra pillows
- Cheryl (2/5): - Very dirty, smell bad couldn’t understand the man that checked us in at all he didn’t speak English. It was just disgustingly filthy.
- Ronald (8/5): - The room was comfortable and clean but dated. Internet was weak at best, probably distance from the transmitter.
- Meellee (8/5): - Room was very clean, very comfortable mattress, and I slept well. That's the best you can say for a hotel.
- JAMES (2/5): - I had to beat on the staff resident door to get anyone to help me check in. English was from poor to non-existent. Ice machine was putting out blocks of ice. Needs to be replaced. AC did not work. Frankly, Expedia needs to drop this site from their list of properties.
- Lorelle (7/5): - It was just OK. The bed was pretty lumpy.
- Srikanth reddy (6/5): - Not clean and decent
- Sean (9/5): -
- Janice (4/5): Way over-rated! - Receptionist didn't speak English. Burned-out lightbulb in an already very poorly-lit room. Lampshades torn. VERY soft bed. Very mid-century vintage because nothing has been replaced since the place was first built! Cannot at all understand how this motel has been so highly-rated!
- Joe (2/5): Stay away - Paintbrush over booked. Gave us a room at lander inn. As they own them both. Promised an upgraded room. Called on morning of check in to leave a credit card and notify them we would be late. Was told not to worry we were good to go. Showed up to check in was told they gave our room away. Drove to paintbrush. To talk to owner. My family was yelled at by an older gentleman because he had no rooms and spoke no English. Finally got put on the phone with owner he called Riverton inn which now magically had a room. So we drove back checked in. Room was in terrible shape smelled horrible and beds were dirty stained chairs. Definitely had bugs at one time or another. Worst experience I’ve had anywhere.
- Roland V (10/5): -
- Larisa (3/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - To close to traffic, therefore noisy.
- Janie (8/5): Comfortable room at reasonable price - The room, while dated in decor (not always a bad thing), was quite spacious. There was a table with chairs where we could eat our supper. The room was clean and looked well-maintained. The TV worked with no problem (not a common theme on our trip this year). We were very comfortable. The hotel is also very close to a Walmart, where we were able to get food for the evening meal and next morning's breakfast (not supplied by the hotel). Our room was located where we could not park by it so had to unload quickly and repark around the back. The elderly gentleman who acted as desk clerk when we arrived and left had very limited English (and I am VERY used to dealing with nonnative speakers). He was friendly but his language skills were just not up to even basic communication. The hotel should not put him as the only available person at the busiest times--both for his sake and for that of the guests.
- Allen (4/5): Needs improvement - Room was not very clean, oily substance on dresser and not all the covers on plugins. Floor was not very clean.
- Tim (6/5): - It’s ok for a quick night stay. Personally would not stay there again
- Gary (4/5): - A very low end motel. Grounds are less than average. Behind the beds look like it has never been cleaned. Front desk manager is friendly but hard to understand.Certainly would not return
- Eswar Pranai Kumar (10/5): - Good to stay
- Kimberly (10/5): - Staff was very accommodating and pleasant
- Robin (1/5): Glad I didn’t get bedbugs, or a foot fungus - The location was fine So incredibly dirty. Hair, burn holes, And rips in the bedsheets. Didn’t look like they had been changed or washed. Along the baseboards of the carpet was just thick dust grime dirt and hair. There was a permanent stick in bathmat in the bathtub, that was grimy, gray, moldy, and disgusting. The bathtub did not drain so therefore you were standing in 3 inches of dirty hairy water. There was a clamp like clothes, hanger, something you would use to hang up pants in your closet, holding up one of the curtains in the room. The front desk person did not speak English, very hard to communicate with him. I would not recommend wasting my time or money staying at this motel. It was advertised as clean and cozy. That is absolutely false.
- robinmD9575CA (2/5): False representation!! - The website says clean and cozy, absolutely not. This was far from clean and cozy. There was hair on the bedsheets, they had not been changed, the bedsheets were ripped and had cigarette burn holes in the pillowcases. The edges of the carpet were dusty, hairy, and layered with dirt. The bathtubs have a stick in bathmat that cannot be removed so it was dingy gray moldy and gross. The bathtub did not drain and so you were standing in 3 inches of hairy water. The curtain on the window was being held up by a plastic clamp clothes hanger. The front desk check in person did not speak English, so very hard to communicate with him. if I could give this motel negative stars, I would. If there are health codes or star ratings for motels, this motel failed on every level.
- Linden (3/5): - Location Noisy, people barging into the room, knock at my door asking if I'd already paid WTF
- Garrett (8/5): - Older place, a bit worn but generally well-kept. The towels, sheets, and floors were clean, the shower was hot, and the AC worked. Plenty adequate for a low-budget stay.
- Steve (8/5): -
- RICHARD (10/5): - Easy check in, room was clean and it was quiet here for being right next to a busy street and it close what I needed. Very good place.
- Douglas (8/5): Overnighter - Very economical, close to restaurants.
- Dustin (4/5): - Very out dated, not maintained well. Carpet was so bad you may not want to walk on with bear feet. We chose this hotel because it was rated an 8 but I’m sure motel 6 rated 6 would have been better. Check out at 10am not 11 like most motels.
- Christopher (10/5): - Can't really rate the Paintbrush on anything other than staff. They were overbooked and arranged a room for us at the hotel next door (Sundowner). The hotel we stayed in was very nice, and I would stay there again.
- Sunday (4/5): - Language barrier, poor a/c, uncomfortable, rundown
- ROBERT (6/5): - Hhj
- peeweeu2021 (2/5): False 8 star. More like a 2 star - How is this place rated an 8. Sleazy old hotel. There are plenty of 2 stars i have stayed over the years that were better. Check out is at 10. We weren’t aware of this. Owner pushing an old shopping cart around for cleaning
- Lowell (5/5): Attendant very kind. Room - The attendant was very an accommodating and kind. He tried to make sure I was comfortable. He did not know he hosted a director of a major military company in the United States. The room
Was below par in clean. Food from
Previous renter still in microwave, the towels were dirty. The air conditioning did not work.
- karen (8/5): Decent stay - TV is motel is older and less price than surrounding hotels, so we were not expecting perfection. The room had fairly new carpet, the bed was comfortable, spacious room, and clean. Would stay again. It did take the air conditioner two hours to cool the room.
- Timothy (6/5): - It was ok. Fair pricing - no frills
- Sebastian (6/5): only for a short stay - it is suitable for one night stay. the rooms were spacius the staff did not speak much english
- Yi (10/5): Unbeatable value - Very clean bedding and bathroom. Window AC works strong (note that the thermostat on the wall is for the heater, not the AC). Excellent value for the price!
- Carol (8/5): Good for a stopover - It’s a good stopover place when you’re on the road. Clean enough, and quiet despite being in the main road
- Michael (10/5): - The place is a little antiquated but the amenities like the air conditioning was new. The family running it was super friendly.
- Vivian (4/5): - Carpet not clean, bath tub not clean. Bed covers not clean and wrinkled.
- Laura (4/5): - Property was clean enough, very dated decoration, cracked lampshades, noisy air conditioner, no clean towels the second day, or replenish the coffee. Not a great experience.
- David (4/5): - not everything works, bed cover dirty, not worth staying
- Tom (6/5): - it is old and needs updated.
- Roy (2/5): Very poor - Staff was good despite the language barrier, tried to explain issues but gave up don't think it was understood. Room not very clean, sheets didn't appear to be clean and flor was not vacuumed, Room had a smoked in smell we don't smoke. Bathroom could have used better cleaning hair in tub and didn't barely drain. Ice bucket had hair and debris in it luckily noticed as was going to use it.
- Kateryna (4/5): - I had a very disappointing stay at this motel. The room was extremely dirty - there was hair everywhere, including on the floor, in the bathroom, and even on the bedding. The electrical situation was also concerning, with open sockets and several plugs that didn’t work. The bedding and towels looked very old, worn out, and far from clean. Overall, it felt very poorly maintained and unhygienic. I would not recommend staying here.
- Robin (10/5): - Very quiet and plenty of room.
- Dell (10/5): - It was clean, comfortable, quiet just like every other time I have stayed there in the last 5 years.
The lighting in the rooms could be a bit brighter.
- Rose (10/5): - The price
- Nick (1/5): I didn’t stay Too dirty Booking.com should ftopbtgem - Nothing Filthy. In disrepair. I was afraid to stay there. I didnt. I asked for a refund since i paid through booking.com. I am still waiting for that refund
- Bart (2/5): Not impressed and I won't stay there again! - The place is dirty and run down. Staff either couldn't speak English or spoke very little!
- Blake (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenn (8/5): - no
- Tom (7/5): Good -
- Robert (6/5): For those who dont care about towels and clean floors, decent pricing - Location and staff Felt unclean. Floors dirty, carpet and tile. Towels dirty/stained and/or torn.
- Sherrie (2/5): - Room stunk, carpets looked dirty. Didnt stay amd they refused giving me my money back. Dont stay there! I have stayed in many motels in the ladt month and this place is by far the worse!
- Kimberly (6/5): It’s good for the money there’s not a lot of options and if you want anything, a little nice you’re gonna be paying a lo - It’s clean and the owners are very kind The air conditioner didn’t work or wasn’t hooked up and the thermostat was backwards so the room was very hot until I figured that out. The owners are nice but the language barrier makes communicating. Your needs a little difficult..
- LJ (8/5): Convenient and Comfortable - This was a perfect overnight stop on my road trip. The room was dated but clean and spacious with a comfortable queen bed. I appreciated a one-level room after being kept awake all night with loud guests overhead on a previous night.
- Elizabeth (3/5): I was not impressed, especially with all the good reviews. - I was appalled at how dirty it was. The walls had stains dripping down them. Thank floor was yucky enough that I wore my socks and shoes just to walk around.
- Shawn (3/5): If you like the strong smell of curry, not being able to drown out the neighbors humping because the tv doesn’t work, th - Tv did not work, AC machine did whatever it wanted hot and cold, smelled like curry
- Melissa (8/5): - It was a good stay
- Linda (6/5): - Clerk hard to understand. Room floor dirty.
- Douglas (10/5): - This hotel was convenient place to stay while I was conducting business here.
- Patricia (4/5): Paintbrush experience - The overall stay was acceptable, however there was a problem with the faucet and water barely trickled out. It never did get warm. Also, there was an altercation between guests in a room near us and there was screaming and what sounded like furniture or people hitting the walls and door. We were getting ready to call the police however we could hear one of the persons in the room calling the police so we did not. We were up most of the night.
- Liam (6/5): - The property was fairly clean the rooms need updating. There was cigarette burns in our pillowcases. For A place that has a 9.2 star review plaque on the wall I expected a little higher quality.
- Mary (6/5): Pleasant -
- Devan (6/5): - I needed a pet friendly motel for one night. I've stayed at Paintrbush two years ago, and the same room, ironically. Unfortunately, everything looked the same, all the things that needed repair at that time are further deteriorated.
I appreciate their parking lot for pets, as it is very easy to get them in and out without bothering other guests. They have a half a block to the west for walking your pet, until you reach a home with outdoor dogs. The location is very walkable if your pet doesn't mind cars driving by.
The staff do not work at the front desk, they have a sign to call and they open the door and talk from that door. So unprofessional.
I paid $80 /- but I would not pay more.
Clear the snow from the drive and in front of the rooms, keep customers safe and your property looking clean. Maintain your facilities.
- Gentzler (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rozanna (4/5): Disappointing - The room was clean. It was cold, and the heater in our room was putting out very little heat. The man in the office was a foreigner and extremely hard to understand. Also, there was no hot water in our room.
- Pamela (6/5): Pleasant - Clean and clean room. The neighbors next store were in and out and a-little noisy throughout the night.
- Kevin (5/5): What I expected, but, then again, I don't like paying a bunch for a shower and a place to sleep. - No breakfast. Had to go to front desk for clean towels after 1st. night. It was an ok room. I am a cheapskate and don't want to assume a mortgage for a shower and a place to sleep. Neighbors could have been quieter. The Wifi didn't work, had to use a phone hotspot.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Vacuum under the beds! - The room was clean, except that i dropped my phone charger and it bounced under the bed. Attention to detail was lacking.
- Patrick (7/5): Needs parking assignment - Location Was not able to park by the room.
- DEBRA (4/5): - The man at the front desk could not speak English at all. It was very difficult to get checked in.
- Darrick (8/5): - Quiet cozy and close
- Nikki (7/5): I got a good nights sleep - Easy access because it is a very small
Motel. The bed was very comfortable.
It was quiet through the night. Staff was friendly and efficient. It’s an old building and has a slum feel to it. I thought I smelled a hint of smoke in the room but not bad.
- Dennis (8/5): - Quick quiet place to stay
- David (2/5): - No heat 1st night. Given a portable heater that could only keep room at 68 F due to 10F outside. No house keeping on a 2 day stay. Ran out of paper supplies.
- Connie S (4/5): Good but MUST STOP coming in room - This is the third time in a row that up to two hours before checkout time, a man that works there comes into the room. This time without knocking! I know he means well, but you don’t do that, especially in that town. Scary and dangerous thing to do.
- John (10/5): - Conveniently located across Wal-mart.
- Patrick (5/5): Pbr - Convenience Dirt.
Also, no parking in front of the room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - La note est surfaite, je suppose qu'ils surfent sur le prestige des anciens propriétaires...
- Debra (10/5): - Very friendly
- Stewart (1/5): Bad -
- Torres (10/5): Exceptional -
- Torres (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (6/5): Pleasant -
- Frieda (2/5): Iffy room - I read the reviews that said this was a nice hotel, I would disagree. Being a single woman here for a conference I felt very unsafe with my surroundings. The room itself was ok, there was a stain on the bedspread, paint peeling on the walls, I’m not sure the bathtub would’ve drained if I tried to shower, and I found stuff left behind by a previous person. Will not stay here again.
- Linda (8/5): Very good - It was clean a convenient to town. The air conditioner was noisy and really didn't work very well.
- Margaret (6/5): Basic, dated accommodation at reasonable price. -
- Shaun (8/5): - Stopped for a night while traveling it was a great value with a good bed and a hot shower.
- Michael P (8/5): - RELATIVELY good value for one's money.
