- Felicia (7/5): Glad we were only there 1 night - Nice location. Night Manager, Tim, was super kind. Room, beds, linens etc were all Marriott expected nice. Had to pay for breakfast. Thought it was included. Had to pay for valet parking as the no pay parking required the car be moved by 8 AM. Could not control the AC. Had the manager in our room for 25 minutes trying to reset and get it working. There was no evening maintenance staff. Had to settle for super cold and tons of blankets as we did not want to pack everything and move rooms.

- Tia (8/5): Some small personal issues but would 100% stay again. - Property was close to the location we were at. Very clean and staff were super nice. The food at the bistro was phenomenal. The parking unfortunately was not ideal, if you are paying to stay at a hotel you should get parking for free at the hotel. For the price of that hotel I would think the beds would be more comfortable but that’s a personal opinion. The bistro could have been open sooner as well. The AC did not work appropriately so even though it was set for 67 it was extremely stuffy in the room.

- Jamie D (4/5): - Check in was great, except we were completely unaware the only parking option was valet at 25 bucks a day, however the valet was great the whole trip, but that isnt something we would normally be comfortable with, and I wish we were made aware at booking. The room was ok. Normal, except the heater/ac was broken. It was 75 in our room the whole time, regardless of how low I set the a/c and how high I set the fan. Two mornings showers were pleasant, but this morning it was absolutely freezing. I barely could muster enough strength to take a quick shower. Was kind of grateful the room was stuck so hot afterwards. The traffic on the street was very loud and made sleep difficult.

Front desk staff was good and said we could check out due to the pool not working The pool was not working, there was no free breakfast and parking was high priced for South Bend. Valet parking was great with the speed they got our car and ran to meet the customer's needs.

- Nancy (8/5): Marriott Courtyard - downtown South Bend - This was my first visit to South Bend/Notre Dame campus. Staying at the downtown location was so convenient for our activities. The accomodations were comfortable, giving me the necessities of home while away. The staff was so welcoming, friendly and courteous. I only had one issue with the shower temperature one morning - it took a very long time to get hot water, but I survived. Great place to stay!

Room/beds were comfortable, good location.

- I5502WEscottw (10/5): Enjoyable and memorable stay - will return - Having our daughter recently move to South Bend area, this was our first overnight trip to the area. I researched all the hotels in the area and based on reading through numerous reviews and looking at value I selected Courtyard South Bend Downtown. Short review: Courtyard Downtown will be our hotel of choice with every return trip to South Bend. Three key reasons: 1. Associates. Every associate we can in contact was personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. I do remember names to individuals I believe do an outstanding job. Jennifer (front desk) was the first individual we met coming into the hotel. We requested a specific room type, and Jennifer placed us in the perfect room! Thank you Jennifer. Through the evening Susan was the front desk associate. We have a couple requests and Susan delivered on every one with a smile. Susan excelled at making my wife and I feel VIP. Many thanks Susan. Finally checking out we dealt with Amber. Amber provided an awesome final impression of the hotel and stay. Thank you Amber. 2. Location. The hotel truly was the perfect location for a memorable stay. The hotel is location downtown South Bend and right across the street from the major park and St. Joseph River. We walked to dinner in the evening, in which there are several very nice restaurants within walking distance. The was a festival at the park the evening of our stay, which was nice to walk throughout the park. We ran in the morning, which there is a beautiful paved trail that runs for miles and miles along the St. Joseph River. 3. Quality and Value. The hotel has a beautiful lobby and outside seating area. The hotel is also extremely well built which makes for a very relaxing and restful stay. Great night sleep. Not know the area, I am always unsure of an area until we stay. Courtyard Downtown is located in an extremely safe area. Felt perfectly safe walking around at night and during our early morning run. Thanks to everyone for a memorable stay, and we look forward to a return trip.

- Katia (6/5): Pleasant - The hotel was ok, the room clean and comfortable but the service was terrible except for the guys at the valet parking who were very helpful. The worst breakfast we have ever had and the worst service ever. The order was not delivered as ordered, even though we were waiting for 30 minutes. They did a mistake they brought us a tiny plate with scrambled eggs with no additional and the fruit without the yogurt . When I complained I was told that they did not have any yogurt left and they just gave one, as a courtesy even though I had paid for two , and the lady did not even apologize and said that it was not her fault as she did not get the order. The worst breakfast we have ever had and the worst service ever. The order was not delivered as ordered, even though we were waiting for 30 minutes. They did a mistake they brought us a tiny plate with scrambled eggs even though we had ordered for the package breakfast with extras and 2 orders of fruit with yogurt and granola but they just gave us the fruit without anything. The lady did not even apologize and said that it was not her fault as she did not get the order. We have never received this kind of treatment and the least they should have apologized apologize or not charged for this awful breakfast... that we left anyways. Even the coffee was terrible. Amazing....

The negative- the ran out of water for showers one morning, tiny pool and fitness center, and one- star dining. My four stars is for the hotel, not the restaurant here.i would definitely stay again but not eat here.

- sjbarry57 (6/5): Vacation with family - Overall the hotel itself was wonderful. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional and had my room key ready to go as soon as I arrived. The hotel was beautiful as was the room. The bartender in the evening was a sweetheart and made amazing drinks. What ruined our experience was my car getting broken into since valet did not lock my car. My change was stolen out of my car along with souvenirs from our trip. Horrible way to end a nice stay. Beware of the parking situation. I thought my car would be safe with valet parking considering the area.

- Daniele1226 (8/5): Nice central location - We wanted to stay in the downtown area for our anniversary and for St Patrick’s day festivities. We had never stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott previously. Our room was a non smoking king room with city views and it was clean and with modern finishes. While we appreciated the Keurig in room and K cups, there was nothing to stir your creamer or sweetener with. I used a straw that I happened to have from a drink that I had purchased. The beds were comfortable enough but we did request an extra blanket from the front desk as we like to sleep in a cool room and none was provided in the closet. The shower was modern with a stationary glass panel which looks nice, but it was a bit chilly during the shower without the ability to turn the water warmer. The water pressure was just okay. We thought about using the indoor pool, but you have to wade through the people in the Bistro to access the hallway to get there. Neither of us wanted to walk through in our suits and towels, so we didn’t use. We did use the valet service and appreciated the friendly service from staff. Overall this is a nice hotel. With a few adjustments it could be even better.

A special thanks to the staff who rescued my son’s cookie box that he misplaced and had it waiting for him when he returned to get it.
