- Emma (10/5): Lovely Marina hotel - The location in the Marina was amazing with lovely views. It was peaceful and calming. It's fun to watch the big ships coming in and out of the channel. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was filling and really tasty. They have gluten free options on the menu. It is a short walk to Hythe which is a great little town.. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.
- Burkhard (8/5): - freundlich
nette Lage
- Paul (9/5): -
- Nigel (8/5): We will book the Boathouse again when we are in the area - Room was lovely, light and nicely decorated.
The meals were also good value, freshly cooked and served HOT!
Staff were all friendly and helpful
Really good value for money. The car park spaces were just too small but the hotel has a section of a council park so not the hotels fault
- wooja (10/5): Another great fund - The Boathouse hotel is perfectly situated in an attractive marina close to nearby cruise terminals at Southampton. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and very clean. The food at the hotel was plentiful and facilities were very good. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. I will certainly revisit in the future. The stairs were a bit difficult for us oldies but there is a lift to the first floor for disabled guests.
- John (8/5): Met my needs. Enjoyaoplace - Large room with good view. Good location Breakfast started too late for me
- Birgit (10/5): - Super zentrale Lage, wunderschöner Ausblick auf Marina und Meer. Unterkunft topp. Freundliches Personal. Sehr zu empfehlen.
- Chris (5/5): - Bed was comfy Asked for a bath in room was told I couldn't have a room with one. Fridge was a little noisy. Shower was loose on the wall and not the cleanest.
- Ursula (9/5): Exactly what we hoped for. - Room was delightful with great view across marina; quiet location; continental breakfast included in price was fresh and bountiful. All good!
- william (8/5): -
- Brian (10/5): - Good service and friendly and the bedroom brilliant. We will come back again. Xx
- Jane (10/5): Perfect relaxing stay. - Lovely spacious room, comfortable beds, large bath and separate shower, clean and tidy, large balcony with a beautiful view, good breakfast choice and staff were very accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
- JACQUI (7/5): The main issue was breakfast or rather the lack of it - Fantastic location, great room, balcony, shower and bath, food too was good Balcony needed some tlc, flaking paint, outside furniture poor.
Evening food lovely however very surprised to be told that coffee machine had been switched off, subsequently switched back on, staff not knowing whether there was cheese on the menu, didn't seem to understand what a cheeseboard was.
The main issue was breakfast or rather the lack of it. We hadn't booked breakfast at the time of booking because we thought it wasn't served early enough to fit with our plans. When we checked in we were told breakfast was served at 8am which suited us. Unfortunately we arrived at 8am to find the restaurant shut, waited, left at 8.20, it appeared staff had arrived we needed to go. FYI Can get a great takeaway breakfast in town.

- Kate (9/5): - Spotless room and great location. Generous complimentary continental breakfast. Nothing
- Dandridge (10/5): - Hotel, staff, food , location was perfect
- janice (9/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): Lovely short stay watching the cruise liners pass by - Lovely location overlooking the marina watching the cruise liners go by. A short walk into Hythe town. Sea Shells restaurant was a nice find. great location to stay and visit the forest and Exbury gardens All good
- Francesca (7/5): -
- Daniel (9/5): A great few days away with plenty of attractions just a few miles away. - We loved the location , stayed in room 1, a lovely large room with balcony with great views. Nothing
- stuart (10/5): -
- John (8/5): Ideal for what we needed - Small Double was ideal for 1 person. I had a top floor bedroom which was immaculate with a huge bathroom. Reception area could do with improvement and access to rooms is with a rather complicated code

- Lynn (9/5): -
- Mikeys Kay (8/5): - The location and staff were excellent. The room was lovely and clean. Some parts are a little tired and could do with a refresh.
- Carolyn (7/5): Liked the location but some improvement needed - Location and parking Food only available before 5.30 pm
Breakfast - was told 8.00 am but door wasn't open until 8.10 and had to wait for it to be put out. No good for business people. Made me late.
Complicated door lock, long number to key in each time
Need to maintain the large velux in room. Glass was shot and in the hinge very dirty.
One person on duty which was a lot for him to do on his own.
Overall ...needs a refurb and some investment. Maybe they don't need to as location is so good.
- Kathleen Ruston (9/5): - Lovely helpful staff spotless room very comfortable
Great location and ideal for us visiting family nearby
Fab compimentary continental breakfast The code for room keypad is far too long
- Eileen (10/5): Beautiful views over the marina. - It is beautiful, we got continental breakfast included for free. My husband had the full English for £8 it was massive and delicious. The room was huge with large bath tub. The location was just amazing. It could do with their windows washing and a wee but more cleaner in the common areas. Our room was spotless though 🤩
- Sandra (9/5): Clean comfortable room in good location offering good food - Clean and comfortable. Good view from the balcony. The meals in the restaurant were very good and reasonably priced. They could upgrade their breakfast presentation to look a bit smarter
- Deborah (8/5): - The view and location, room was clean and bed very comfortable. Bathroom had been partly painted and not finished, the washing a dip under the carpet in the middle of the room, flooring in the bathroom is damaged. Shower nearly shot you out if the cubical as pressure to high and unable to turn down. These things added together did not make us feel like it was a "superior deluxe room".
- julie (9/5): We loved our stay just my husband and I, such a quiet location but close to the town, a fab roo. Ans side view of the ma - The room was very good, large and very clean with en-suite. It was warm and cosy and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was enough for me and my husband. Included in the price was the continental breakfast of cereals, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, toast , tea and coffee. The option for cooked breakfast had an additional cost.
This was our 2nd visit as we liked the Boathouse and its location. The hotel is situated on the marina and a 10min walk to the little town where there is a Waitrose, Superdrug, mini Morrisons and plenty of other shops to eat and drink plus a couple of pubs. The only thing we should have told the staff about was the room was so warm we couldn’t sleep without the window open. The radiator in the bathroom didn’t have a thermostat so couldn’t turn it down as it was close to the toilet and could easily burn your arm or thigh if not careful.
- David (9/5): Lovely marina view - Location and view were great Furniture was a bit dated
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Lovely location, very clean, good food
- Carla (10/5): Great stay - Great room, nice and clean, quiet and very comfortable
- Paul (9/5): Would recommend and will be returning - Everything
- Nicola (10/5): Perfect venue for some rest and relaxation - Really helpful staff. Stunning views Deluxe window was incredibly dirty. Lift, which staff said was unreliable
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Christina (7/5): -
- Terry (10/5): Modern, smart and clean. A great hotel overlooking the marina - Great location and relaxing setting Nothing - great all round
- Jeremy (5/5): Great view pleasant location but service very poor compared to the last time we stayed there - Location, fantastic We stayed at three years ago and cleansings was much better. Breakfast was very poor this time when turned up in the afternoon had a family party going on so couldn’t get any food.
- Julie (9/5): Pegged for a stay in Hythe! - Friendly staff and great location in the Marina. Short walk into the centre and a nice inhouse restaurant with great food well cooked. Comfy rooms with great beds and large bathrooms. Plenty of space for your stuff and a fridge too! Short drive to see the ponies on the way to Beaulieu which is well worth a visit Nothing - good value for money
- john (6/5): - Location was lovely, the staff were friendly and polite. The room was spacious with lovely view of the harbour. The room smelt musty and damp, the toilet didn't flush properly and when I notified the staff they said they already new about it.
Breakfast was continental included but that just meant cereal and a choice of 3 pastries, Breakfast bowls were dirty, we ordered cooked breakfast at extra cost but wish I hadn't, weatherspoons is better. A little overpriced
This place has so much potential under the right management. I wouldn't stay again.
- Steve (7/5): -
- Paul (9/5): - Excellent value
- Doreen (6/5): All told above - Staff helpful Lovation good food ok Room too small and not comfortable eg no chair or sitting space
Second floor not good for elderly with no lift
Wine prices too expensive Too many young children in dining room at dinner time Saturday night
- Tom (8/5): - My 3rd stay at The Boathouse, the facilities are excellent, the location is ideal and the staff are brilliant
- Alan (8/5): -
- Vanessa (10/5): Had a great one night stay - Lovely location , friendly staff & clean Nothing
- Glenn (10/5): -
- andrew (4/5): Disappointing standard of fixtures and fittings which was a shame as a nice location. - Good location Poor condition of room - broken radiator / towel rail in Bathroom. Curtains and curtain poles in poor condition. Generally a tired and poorly maintained feel of the hotel
- richard (10/5): - Good food ideal base for travel
- Denise (8/5): - Great position. Very spacious room. Helpful staff The continental breakfast was basic. No muesli. Only apple or oranges for fresh fruit
- mike (8/5): Fantastic location and views - Location, fantastic views of the Solent. Free parking close by. Very friendly staff. Airy bedroom. Good shower. Trouble with door lock. Bed could have been larger.
- CATRINA (8/5): Our stay was very pleasant akin to many previous stays - Breakfast was plentiful and staff very professional and helpful Our room was not as clean as previous stays but this may be because we changed our check in time last minute?
- Victoria (8/5): Helped us relax - Bedroom view into the marina
Breakfast
- Marilyn (2/5): Wouldn't go there again - The location The handle to the bedroom dood had fallen off. Bits were missing from curtain holders etc.
Poorly maintained.
Staff were very nonchalant and almost uninterested.
- James (10/5): - Bed was very comfortable, room very clean and the water pressure in the shower was perfect👌 Leaving
- Tuemuna Hope (10/5): Perfect - The rooms are specious & very clean The Menu
- Gurnos (7/5): An average hotel for an above average price. - That it was within walking distance of the function we were attending The door didn't have a handle on it,
The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, the fridge which is nice to keep milk in, (because the UHT milk is awfu). Was placed on a small table and was very loud when the motor kicked in, bedside lamps were loose.
A repair in the bathroom hadn't been covered up at all. But the main thing was the curtains, didn't fit the window at all and let so much light in, it was pointless having them.
Also hear the people in the next room talking, so they could obviously hear us or the TV.
- Jacques (8/5): - Great location and easy to find N/a
- zoe (7/5): An interesting location but rooms cd do with a refurb - Great location, easy free parking, the room was large with a sea view and restaurant has a good vibe The room was too hot, even with radiators off and windows open. The furniture was in a poor state - chair leg broken, sofa bed v uncomfy. Coffee table wobbly. Dated interior. We wd have liked to have had supper there but nothing healthy and everything v pricey.
- Roger (9/5): - Staff were super helpful and friendly, the food from the restaurant was exceptional. I thoroughly recommend the Boathouse burger, my wife had the Chicken Tikka which was packed with flavour. Portions were perfect size.
Our room was sparkling and smelt so good.
The location is excellent and easy to find. We found the bed and pillows were a little bit too firm for us. But it didn't spoil our stay.
- Mike (9/5): Pleasant well located hotel - Room was warm and clean. Breakfast was quick.
- Lorraine (9/5): Air lovely few days stay in the boathouse hotel. - The location was wonderful, we had a balcony over looking the harbour which was so nice,
The staff were very nice and accommodating, My husband didn't like the bed, he thought it was to hard and it hurt his back, but I found it very comfortable, so you can't please everyone,
They did have a disco on the Friday night, and it was right underneath our room, but it did finish at 10pm so can't complain really.
- Bny (1/5): -
- Matt (5/5): -
- Helen (8/5): Great stay in lovely room with sea view. Will be back. - Great location on the marina. Lack of plug sockets (minor thing)
- Gaina (9/5): -
- Karen (9/5): - Fabulous room and wonderful Southampton water views. Super friendly owner. All good
- Alison (10/5): -
- Ben (8/5): -
- Nigel (1/5): Very dissapointed and nothing was done when i complained. - The front of house staff were helpful My shower was cold and although i asked everday from day1, they did nothing about it. The bathroom blind was stuck fully open so i was facing the opposite windows when using the toilet and shower. The room was sold as s room with a fridge. There wasn’t one so i had to have a full size one balanced on the beside table!
- Sarah-Jane (10/5): Lovely location. Friendly staff. - Lovely location in the harbour. Couple of places to eat within walking distance. Free parking. Very nice, friendly staff. Water was cold in the evening when went for a shower but lovely and warm in the morning.
- Ursula (10/5): Have stayed before and will stay again. - Bed extremely comfy; continental breakfast inc is excellent. Staff excellent and responsive to enquiries. More an observation… stair and hallways could do with freshen up but these are areas that get most use by everyone.
- Rob (8/5): I'd like to go back and spend a few nights there, rather than the overnight I had. - Great location, lovely warm rooms, big shower, nice bar, friendly helpful staff, especially George. Lovely being on the marina with views out to the estuary. Sadly, quite "tired" rooms with mold around the shower, poor silicon repairs, lukewarm shower water. Stained shower tray. Gaffa tape on a flooring seam in the bathroom
- Karen (8/5): -
- Alison (10/5): -

- Alison (10/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): Pleasantly different than the local chain hotels and good value - Staff exceptional - friendly and professional
Room had all the required features necessary for a comfortable stay
Bathroom larger than expected, with a powerful shower and toiletries and good quality towels.
Evening meal excellent value, restaurant well laid out and good ambiance and pleasant views of the marina
Complimenrary continental breakfast had good selection of quality items and fresh fruit.
Parking easy with bays well marked out
Simple, safe and quick walk into Hythe. Would not have liked to have a long stay in the Small Double Room (5) we booked but only because it didn't have room for seating so had to lie on the bed.
We only stayed one night and did know this arrangement beforehand, and the very competitive price did reflect this.
- Paul (8/5): Excellent location. - Clean and tidy Nothing
- Kathleen (7/5): - The view
- Lee (6/5): I general good value for money, breakfast was great, - Location Room was a bit run down
- Kirsty (7/5): Breakfast was ok but not very gluten friendly or dairy free - It was close to seeing family but a little over priced The room were very dusty from the bedding, and definitely need new carpet throughout the hotel.
